The Prefsbelt Sector has long stood as one of the more reinforced hard points along the Imperial borders since the onset of the war, making it a target actively avoided by the New Imperial Order as it stands strong under the iron rule of Governor Madelyn Lowe Madelyn Lowe who has been a constant figure head spearheading the Loyalist front

However, the Order's victory at Dubrillion changed all that. Now a great deal of the territory north of Bastion and bordering the New Imperial Order has gone into full disarray and is now much more vulnerable to a strategic strike as New Imperial forces try re-consolidating.

Now is the time.

The time for revenge.

ydYtwV5.png

OBJECTIVE I //: Operation : Breaking Point

Being one of the more reinforced hardpoints along the border between the Sith Empire and the New Imperial Order, Prefsbelt IV must fall. Embarking on a surprise strike on the world following the victory at Dubrillion, the New Imperial Order has consolidated a task force to embark on an all out assault of the planet during the disarray behind the Crimson curtain following another defeat which has destabilized the borderlands between the two warring Imperial factions.

Seize the Capital of New Avalonia and capture any high value targets if at all possible.

OX64fzb.png

OBJECTIVE II //: Operation : Kingmaker

The 'Hydian Bastion' in orbit over Prefsbelt is planet's main means of defense. Led by the Reconstituted 7th Fleet under the command of Var Koon the New Imperial Order has laid siege to the orbital fortress. However the large civilian presence leaves all out destruction out of the question. Boarding parties have been disembarked to take control of the facility.

It is too valuable of an asset to leave in Sith hands.

"Prefsbelt Imperial Authority"

Time to go again. The Sith had their hubris rewarded on Borosk. But if history was to tread the same path there as it did in the fateful Galactic exchange between the Fel Empire in-exile and Krayt's One Sith, then the New Imperial Order would still see their final victory over the darkness. The winds of fate foretold this to Koon, a Sage in the force practice of the Baran Do.

It was an obscure ideology which focused the practitioner's force power and potential into the sole aim of prophetic foretelling of what was soon to come. Used initially to foretell the periless and unpredictable weather patterns of Dorin, Var Koon had warped its usage in favor of the most primal authority to which mortal sentient life staked its claim on the Galaxy.

War.

"Admiral, their interdiction is active, we're locked in until we can take control of the Bastion." One of the Penitent's helmsmen sounded out to Var Koon who stood central on the command deck, his pale eyes peering through segmented glasteel viewports.

"We would have been foolish to anticipate anything else. Hail the Bastion." Var said, his voice bellowing in its deepness past the ornate rebreather secured over his face. Firing a comms link to the Sith-Imperial orbital fortress, he spoke up once more.

"This is Admiral Var Koon of the New Imperial Order's Seventh Fleet. On behalf of the Sovereign Imperator, I ask you once to surrender and be granted mercy. Failure to do so would be failure to act in the interests of your people."

"You have one hour to decide their fate...or I will."
The Kel Dor states sternly before turning to address his helmsman.

"Lock them down, they're not going anywhere. Send the boarding parties and instruct the Indomitable as well as our Defiances with escort to move up unto the station. Fire the assimilator cannons and siphon their shielding. Take away any semblance of comfort they might have holed up there." The Admiral spoke in command once more. All a reprieve in holding back the full might of the New Imperial's panoply of war present here. All the same, they had to know their time was ticking low if they decided to snap back in defiance.

With these commands the pair of Defiance-class destroyers moved in line with the Legate alongside its accompanied escort of starfighters and corvettes as the line of Pellaeon destroyers remained unfurled in a back line enveloping the Hell's Maw which had just activated the impounding pull of its gravity wells into the arena. If the Hydian Bastion wanted to make a slick attempt at escape, they'd be thwarted immediately.

Klaxons wailed throughout the Concordia's corridors, it would be the first time that the Resurgent would see combat of any sort in at least two years. Which made their readiness drills come to bear all the more. Commander Tae Sun-Shin led part of the make-shift 1st Expeditionary Fleet out of Dosuun when they got the alert from Grand Moff Lowe. HIMS would make it easier on the landing but not by much, and Sun-Shin gathered that Commander Masayu Kimura would have a harder go of it without such a system. Their objective here was clear, evacuate any and all First Imperials from this system and take them back to Dosuun.
Sun-shin couldn't risk simply opening fire on the New Imperials for many reasons but chief among them, causing the ire of the New Imperials. However, if the New Imperials fired upon the First Order's fleet first - then all bets would be off. Their guns were here for the defense of the people and their evacuation. The technology aboard the Hydian Bastion however old it might be would have to be scuttled. Of course, Madelyn Lowe Madelyn Lowe would be aware of this as a former First Imperial herself. If she couldn't then they would, and to ensure that the Hydian Bastion would find its end one way or the other. Sun-shin laid in a call to Moff Yvarro who then alerted the retired Lord Admiral Fiolette Raaf.
Raaf would be arriving with an independent fleet, an insurance policy, Commander Sun-shin surmised.
"This is Commander Sun-shin to the fleet," the Commander began on an encrypted intrafleet communications channel, "do not fire upon any New Imperial vessels unless fired upon. We're here to evacuate our people from Prefsbelt and get them home. Our secondary objective is to ensure that the Hydian Bastion does not fall into New Imperial hands, indeed it has sat for far too long in Sith Imperial space."
She waited a moment before giving the order to the fleet, "all hands ready for combat, red alert. Commander Sun-shin out."
At the very least they would be ready on the guns should the New Imperials fire first. The Seoularian realized that there was a very real possibility that she would not return from this expedition. And for a moment there lingered fear in the back of her mind, but it was a fear she compartmentalized. Her task would be at hand soon enough as the Concordia prepared to enter the Prefsbelt IV system.

It had been a few days since the Battle of Dubrillion had ended , the New Imperial Order had triumphed once against and we're one step closer from taking Bastion from the Sith. Though this constant routine had started to bore Marlon Sularen who expected a rapid rise through the ranks and a second promotion by now , one that never came. As his Fleet headed for Prefsbelt IV he wondered if the Sovereign Imperator would even let him return to his former glory or simply confine him to his low status within the New Imperial Armada.

Sularen was able to do more then just command a small fleet into battle , he had a large Private Military Forces an ever growing Corporation , he had joined the New Imperial Order with the aims of joining it's New Imperial Assembly to regain his former power but now he was some Commodore in their Armada only strengthening his hatred of the man responsible of his downfall , Credius Nargath. While they did establish a truce to put an end to their feud , Marlon only saw it as temporary as one day when he would once more attain the position of Moff in which he rightfully deserved he would set things right with those who deceived them. Until then he was confined to an endless loop of Battle after Battle after Battle.

As Wraith Squadron arrived at Prefsbelt IV they met up with the Reconstituted 7th Fleet of Admiral Var Koon who had already begun the process of besieging the Hydian Bastion. "Get me Admiral Koon" Marlon simply stated to his subordinate , his very loyal Captain Marlo who has previously served him during the days of the Directorate and had remained loyal to him as Credius Nargath cohereced Marlon's best officers to betray him confining him to his low-ranking status within the New Imperial Order.

Soon enough he'd enter in contact with Admiral Koon , Marlon spoke up. "Admiral Koon this is Commodore Marlon Sularen of Wraith Squadron. What are you orders?" Once the message passed , Commodore Sularen turned to Captain Marlo. "Captain is your task force ready for deployment\/" Marlon asked. "Yes sir we are ready to deploy on Prefsbelt IV. Though i don't understand why you're sending a task force to Prefsbelt. Should we be focusing on dealing with the Hydian Baston?" Marlo aksed.

"It's not that simple Captain." Marlon began. "Ever since Credius Nargath betrayed us we secured most of the Directorate Fleet giving me control over one of the largest Private Armadas in the Galaxy , however i have insufficient manpower to utilize the Armada at it's full strength in which is crucial to regaining my former power. It's only been a Year since i joined the New Imperial Order and i'm just a Commodore. At that rate it will take like 5 to 10 years before i can rise again. And i don't intend on waiting that long. I've spent so much time building my strength and power only to be brought down pre-maturely twice by Greedy Force Users. It is about time i rose again and this time do it properly"

Marlon then paused. "I need a faster way to recover from the betrayals of Cedric Grayson and Credius Nargath and in order to do so i have to spread my influence on Prefsbelt and Yaga Minor by utilizing what i have , my Private Army , my new Corporations and a few proxies. First we'll need a suitable foothold on Prefsbelt and the best way you can do this without attracting the attention of the wrong people is by blending in with the other New Imperials. Go now Captain and do what must be done. We have alot of work to do today and now is not the time to hesitate." Marlon finished. The Captain simply nodded and left ready to deploy the troops.

Marlon had his own plans delayed by the actions of one man who only wished to advance his own agenda and it was time for him to get back on track. If he were ever to rise back and take back what Grayson had taken from him he need to act at some point and if he waited to long various opportunities would be missed. With the current Government of Prefsbelt IV soon to be removed from power and replaced by another New Imperial Vassal , Marlon had the opening he had to establish a minor presence there. Enough to begin spreading his influence throughout the planet. He was tired of being confined within low-ranks and overlooked by others and it was about time he had his resurgence it was time he regained what he had lost to Cedric and Credius.

It had come again: the destruction of what she had built.

Seven years ago now since Varonat, her first home and her stewardship, had been obliterated. A regime, a world, and a people turned to ash in a few short years. The vengeance of the Ssi Ruuk leaving nothing standing. She had fled then, with what remained of her people. So few, so reduced. They were shaken and afraid, and they had watched their state collapse around them in the days following the attack. The Order, Varonat and almost all its inhabitants, snatched away with shocking speed.

Then, years later, they were offered a chance to live again, to emerge from the station in which they had hidden, to travel halfway across the Galaxy and start life anew, with the spirit and in the memory of those who hadn't survived. They settled amongst the Sith, and they, the survivors, they thrived again.

And now, the New Imperials had come, to take it all away again, to kill her people and tear down the lives they had built.

She would not make the same mistake again.

On Varonat, she had refused at first to see. The reality of the situation seemed too far-fetched, too preposterous. The planet had enjoyed stability and strength for decades. She'd been sure they could withstand the Ssi Ruuvi assault, but they didn't, and that error had cost billions of lives. Madelyn lost almost everyone then, almost everything.

This time, there would be no such errors.

She was a connected woman, and the news of the push on Dubrillion had reached her quickly. They had just enough time to prepare before the early warning sensors warned of the New Imperial's arrival in-system. That which she and her people had dreaded for months was finally here, but there would be no foolish sacrifices.

The order went out quickly, with the efficiency expected of an Imperial world. The soldiers of the Legion and Armada assembled with the Prefsbelt Defence Forces and the Prefsbelt Intelligence Bureau, setting about the grim task of delaying the New Imperials. Sith lines were already broken. There would be no repelling the attack, but they needed time.

At the same time, the citizens of New Avalonia fled their homes, transported en-masse to the nearest spaceports or to open squares where military shuttles awaited them. The First Order had been signalled, and it would be them who would take Prefsbelt's citizens, who would spare her people from death and subjugation. Them who would remove them from the war and violence. Them who would bring them home.

Madelyn would not see them die. Not again.

Observing the evacuation from her residence in the city centre, Madelyn paced across her office, flitting between tasks and fretting. The first of the shuttles were departing now, and the shield protecting the city had been dropped to allow their escape. The large gun batteries and defences inside the city were silent, so as not to draw the fire of the fleet, but on the outskirts, scattered installations sent up a hail of fire to slow the enemy's approach. Madelyn clenched and unclenched her fists, wondering if they would manage, if they would succeed, or if she would lose it all again.

She muttered instructions to one of the aids, who hurriedly passed Madelyn a commlink connecting her to the newly-arrived First Imperial fleet. When she spoke, her voice was even, not betraying the dread that gripped her.

"Commander Sun-shin." Madelyn began, speaking into the device as she peered out of the window into the emptying city below outside. "The first of the shuttles from the surface are leaving now. I hope that you are ready to receive them. They will be joined shortly by the evacuees from the Hydian."

No more than a subtle shimmer of light emanated from the control surfaces, a dusky crimson hue filling the bay of the Redoubtable's bridge compartment. Low voices, soft chirps, and the quiet hum of the Marauder-class Cruiser's systems gave the atmosphere an almost eerie quality. A quiet before a storm, a silence before the pounce, the soft intake of breath before an ambush - and Commander Kimura was all about it. Adrenaline coursed through her veins as her eyes darted from one area of the holographic display to another, the table before her providing real-time readouts of her vessel's state as well as the other vessels in the expeditionary force. They were a pack of wolves, hunters, wolves of the void - but today their mission was different. There was risk, there was danger, but their primary obligation was the evacuation of their kin still in the Prefsbelt system. With tensions rising in the region and the latest withdrawal of the Empire's forces there was a very real threat danger.

"Do not fire upon any New Imperial vessels unless fired upon. We're here to evacuate our people from Prefsbelt and get them home. Our secondary objective is to ensure that the Hydian Bastion does not fall into New Imperial hands, indeed it has sat for far too long in Sith Imperial space."
A silent acknowledgement was transmitted via the comm relay. :: RECEIVED AND ACKNOWLEDGED :: General quarters had been sounded prior to their final hyperspace jump, the crew of the Redoubtable ready for their arrival in the objective system. Pilots at their TIE's, gunners at their stations, damage control teams standing by, Search and Rescue crews manning their shuttles, and the medical bay, ready and waiting should their skills be required. Hopefully not. Maz thought to herself. The truth was, they didn't know exactly what to expect, Maz moreso. It was her first true mission aboard the Redoubtable and with her crew. Checking the readouts on the holodisplay the Commander clenched her jaw and began issuing orders to her crew. "Standby for entry to the Prefsbelt system. Prepare forward batteries for action. Gunnery crews at the ready - fire only at my order. Fighters, deploy upon arrival. Escort Pattern Besh." The commands issued were crisp, almost monotone despite the Commader's own excitement. Looking up from the display and past the narrow command walkway, Maz gazed into the streaks of light. It wouldn't be long now.

<"Attention First-Imperial Vessels, this is Admiral Ordo of War Fleet Iron Halo, if any assistance is requires don't hesitate to ask. Goodspeed, Imperials. Also, betrayal will not be tolerated">

The Chiss Admiral exhaled loudly as he settled himself into his command chair. This particular offensive had been projected by the high command but not this soon, they were almost caught with thier pants down. Almost, that is.

<"All ships are to adapt a defensive screen. Do not fire unless fired upon. Victory is not our objective. Get me Grand Moff Lowe">

Nods and "Yes Sirs" followed his simplistic order and within minutes the Admiral's imposing figure would have appeared in holographic form on Prefsbelt. <"Governor, we stand ready to evacuate yourself, the munitions and our troopers. My only question, however simple is: Are you ready?">

While he awaited the Mofds response he realized he had his own to make. "Sir, an easy retreat is no impossible. They have opened fire. Shall we return fire". Thaelius nodded before turning back to the communications station

<"Attention New Imperial Vessels, this is Admiral Thaelius Ordo of War Fleet Iron Halo. The game has begun. May the best man win"> As a perfect gentleman, Thaelius gestured forward before pointing towards the New Imperial Order fleet, at which point the twin Intercessor Class Star Destroyers which always accompanied the Chimera turned to face the oncoming onslaught.

<"You may fire at will, Captains. Do not hesitate and do not try and achieve naval superiority. Break thier formation">

The Wrath of Achilles, as massive as the warship was, exited hyperspace with a boom, not that it could be seen either way however with it's Stygium Cloaking Field active.

From the warship, a single shuttle was launched, the Achilles deactivating it's cloaking field to allow for the ship to launch.

<"Attention Sith-Imperial, New-Imperial and First-Imperial Vessels, this is Grand Admiral Tristan Evore of the Zweihander Union aboard the shutflecraft Violet Dagger. I have no interest in your conflict. I am here only to visit the Father of the Navy. Thank you for your understanding">

With that the Admiral leaned back in his seat as the shuttlecraft landed near the tomb of the long-dead Father of the Modern Navy, Admiral Praedux.

He exited the shuttle alone, white cape flowing behind him as he white gloves activated the entrance to the grave. It had been a long time since he had visited the millinea old Admiral however, like most members of any navy across the galaxy, he felt a strong connection to the man.

<"Admiral Praedux, long time no see"> He mused.

"Prefsbelt Imperial Authority"
The arrival of the Chiss admiral into the field of play could only play as so much as an abrupt arrival. Marlon Sularen and Thaelius Ordo seemed to play on magnetic properties to the other. Where one appeared, the other was not far behind into the fray. Thus he could only expect the Wraith to entangle itself in the Iron Halo.

No matter.

The Kel Dor's primary focus was any vessel marked FIV which bared down unto Prefsbelt. The First Order, as it is was an entity irrelevant to the New Imperials. Being based on Dosuun, clear across the Galaxy past the Outer Rim they had no business in tangling with this conflict. That is, were it any other world than Prefsbelt IV. Here, the remnants of the First Order secluded themselves beneath the guiding hand of the House of Lowe and beneath the protection of the crimson curtain.

But all of that falls today.

"Admiral, comm-scans are reading out the arrival of First Order marked vessels into the system. They've made no attempt to contact nor have they targeted or fired upon any New Imperial vessel." The deck officer said the way of Var Koon who was in the midst of approaching a holotable, glowing alight in cobalt illumination to reveal the venue of their dance of steel.

"I see...they're protecting their assets, their interests. For all purposes, a great deal of the Prefsbelt Imperial Authority are assets under the domain of the First Order in-exile." Var Koon pontificated aloud as his eyes narrowed to the sight of his triad of battlecruisers baring down unto the station, the cool glow of the shield leech weapons at the bow of the Defiance-class Star Destroyers humming to life as they began to drain the shielding of the station, though it began the trickling of a momentous task, it started the clock.

"All systems are ready to fire at your command, Admiral...it seems they're taking aboard a shuttle from the planet? Do we assail them?" The beauty of the slave rigging. There were far fewer variables to tangle with when the droid brains had networked each and every vessel among the armada to perform on an automaton like precision without the exception of human error.

The New Imperial Order was ready to light the spark but for now, Koon's finger laid off of the trigger even if his eyes peered down the sights of the First Order vessels.

"No...let it pass." The Admiral states. For a moment, his eyes shut as he felt out through the force. Women, children. The usual suspects to be granted first reprieve from the fray.

"Sir? But it could be carrying the Grand Moff."

"It is not..."
He stated.

"Get me the Captain Hiram Voss Hiram Voss ." The Kel Dor commanded and thus his comms were patched through.

"Captain. Move in line with your group to encroach on these First Order vessels. Hold your fire. If this is going to come to blows, it will not be us that blinks, it will not be us that makes the mistake. All the same, make them uncomfortable." He'd assumed well enough Voss in employing his fast and heavy hitting corvettes may very well seek to slink around the aft of the First Order vessels, all the while in a steady line Koon's assault group began its foreboding creep toward the First Order, casting out its vessels in a horse shoe that set its larger vessels toward the center and its smaller ships along the arms of it in the hopes of casting their net around the First Order.

"Put a mission to flyby what seems to be their flag, the Resurgent. Bruisers and Slashers with escort." The heavy hitters of the starfighter corps. Pulsing from their TIE racks, the foreboding profiles of the heavy fighters, bombers and chaff of Outlander escort began to make their way toward the First Order fleet. They did not fire a shot nor did they shift a target lock on any vessel, only traversed.

Captain Hiram Voss had, despite his recent escapades during the assault on Dubrillion, held a cautious nerve. Hiram found that in nearly all situations, one needed to clinically assess the facts of a situation and proceed on duty from there. And it was here and now, above Prefsbelt IV felt that caution creep into dread rather than clinical assessment. This war he had become apart of, and his comrades in the New Imperial Order were now on a collision course with his past. Something which now aboard the NIV Carnivore, he knew his crew and by extension superiors, could not ignore. Hiram personally, as he strode through the cramped bridge of the Cacadore-Class corvette, couldn't decide if this was some test from IMPCOM, or cursed fate dealing him this hand. And yet there he stood, eyes fixated on the First Order fleet, rather than the looming battle between Sularen and Ordo.

Hiram eventually settled from his pacing into his command seat, and settled himself. He could see the wary glances in his direction. The awkward, sheepish glances of a younger breed, perhaps too naive or inexperienced to understand the churning within his stomach. The First Order were to a degree, Hiram's folk. His people. He had served them for over a decade. A decade and a half. They had taken him in when the One Sith tore itself to shreds, and he had honoured the call, defending the frontier in its dying need. Of course, he had cast off those allegiances when he had rebelled against the host of the First Orders civilians, the both benevolent and tyrannical Emperor Carnifex. But even now having served dutifully in service against the Sith, he felt a yearning sympathy for those from the otherside of the Galaxy. A hope even, not to see this resurgent power from Dosuun bought into conflict with the New Imperials.

"
Captain," Hiram's brooding was cut short by the approach of adjutant, Lieutenant Hadrian Boars. Both a blessing and a curse. He could see Boars own displeasure and even fear at this situation. It was palpable both in tone and that their gazes did not match. "Captain, Admiral Koon has an assignment for you, sir." Boars stammered. Hiram felt his chest tighten. This was it. The moment he dreaded. A non-verbal nod from Hiram saw the comms officer play the transmission. Koon's voice radiated loudly and clearly across the channel. The mission was clear. Flyby. Easy. Simple. But also where in a standoff of these sorts, where things could go drastically wrong.

Hiram triggered the comms unit in his chair, "
Admiral," The Captain began, doing his mightiest to remove the anxiety from his tone, "Orders received and accounted for, sir." Voss reported, before licking his lips. There was a pregnant pause, "But if I may sir," Hiram swallowed and felt a thousand burning eyes watching him, "The First Order, is simply attempting, if I may," He added in an uncharacteristically apologetic tone, "Recover its citizens." Of course that was a gross oversimplification given the bounty upon the head of Madelyn Lowe. "Sir, if I may, I would advise, a terse, and firm diplomatic course with a dialogue to be opened between yourself and their lead command vessel." He then swallowed again, "But of course Admiral, that is your discretion." He then followed that hurriedly with a qualifier, "With all due respect, of course Admiral. Proceeding now, on your order sir." Hiram cut off his mic, and gave a nod to the bridge crew, "Proceed on course, seven, dash four, we'll maintain a steady distance. Weapons not primed to provoke. But I want crews at their stations and on alert." Hiram physically wilted as the crew took to his orders.

The corvettes of Scout Force Krayt departed from Admiral Koon's holding pattern with haste. The small corvettes sped toward the First Imperial vessels with remarkable agility, before settling themselves at a distance still within range of the larger, daunting FIV Concordia. They began to ghost the resurgent-class and its larger escort cruisers. Hiram could feel his chest tightening, his heart beating. He knew, he could be marching headlong into the destruction and devastation of either himself, or the thousands waiting to be evacuated below.

As Marlon Sularen awaited orders from Admiral Koon , Captain Marlo and his men boarded their shuttles ready to partake in the assault on New Avalonia. Marlo's task force was comprised mainly of elements of the 142nd Legion , a mercenary group of former CIC Stormtroopers that came under the employment of the Private Military Corporation of Garm Ki-Sapan , Salient Interstellar until he was captured by the Zweihander Union on Carida. Since then Salient Interstellar was aborbed by SularenCo and the 142nd integrated into Marlon Sularen’s Private Army.

As the shuttles left the Predator and headed towards the surface , War Fleet Iron Halo jumped out of hyperspace and it's Commander none other then Thaelius Ordo sent a transmission to the entirety of the New Imperial Fleet present at Prefsbelt.

"Attention New Imperial Vessels, this is Admiral Thaelius Ordo of War Fleet Iron Halo. The game has begun. May the best man win"

Marlon smirked , now things had gotten interesting. As Captain Marlo and his Shuttles reached the upper atmosphere of Prefsbelt IV managing to evade War Fleet Iron Halo, Wraith Squadron moved forth to engage with Iron Halo. With his new Pellaeon-IVs Ordo's Intercessors would be no match for his Fleet and as the Two Fleets approached each other , Marlon gave the order.

"All Pellaeon-IVs concentrate all your fire on those Intercessors. Fleet Carriers stay behind the Predator and the Pellaeon-IV and stay out of range of potential enemy capital ships. Have al Fighters and Bombers on standby but do not deploy them yet" Marlon ordered. Soon enough the Main Batteries of all 4 Pellaeon-IVs opened fire on the twin Intercessors with 2 Pellaeon-IVs attacking each Intercessor aiming to quickly destroy the vessels before they could return fire.

As Wraith Squadron move to engage War Fleet Iron Halo however , Captain Marlo's Task Force began closing in towards the Capital City of Prefsbelt IV with the 142nd ready to engage any defending Sith-Imperial Forces.

  • Wraith Squadron moves forth to engage War Fleet Iron Halo with all 4 Pellaeon-IVs opening fire on the twin Intercessors
  • The Carriers of Wraith Squadron fall back behind the Predator and the Pellaeon-IVs to avoid getting attacked by Iron Halo.
  • Captain Marlo's Task Force begins to approach New Avalonia with their shuttles.

The New Imperials encroached close enough to posture, their TIES would waste energy by running around them. The Seoularian was amused, but she had no quarrel with the New Imperial Order. No, indeed she quite empathized with their plight, however; that didn't mean she would roll over for them either.
How easily they postured Commander Sun-Shin mused to herself with a devilish grin. "Commander, incoming transmission from Grand Moff Lowe." The Seoularian sucked in a breath through her teeth. Grand Moff Lowe. Grand Moff Lowe. It was Lowe who led these poor sheep out this far from Pa'Desh, from Dosuun. It was she who called the First Order, not the Sith Empire. So who was here to rescue their people, was it the Sith? No. It was the First Order. Beasts made of durasteel cruised the void of the Prefsbelt system, and Commander Sun-Shin replied to the Grand Moff. "We are always ready, Grand Moff Lowe. Escorts are on their way." Although she supposed as she watched Ordo and Sularen engage each other, Ordo was good for something.
"Commander, New Imperial ships!" A newly graduated officer pointed out the grey and black shaped triangles on the sensor screen. The blips shouted the typical Imperial arrogance. Again she maintained the grin, which was now more of a smirk. "Open a channel, let us greet these so-called New Imperials, shall we?" She looked around at her crew who mirrored her expression. The officer gave her a nod of affirmation and she watched as the light for open communications turned on. The Seoularian's tone would come across calm, and diplomatic.
"Vessels of the New Imperial Order, I am Commander Sun-Shin of the First Order. We are here to evacuate civilians from Prefsbelt IV, we ask that you maintain a ten-kilometer radius in distance from our fleet. Any penetration of this radius will be considered a hostile act and we shall respond accordingly. "
With a motion of her hand, the comms channel was closed. Sun-Shin utilized shipboard communications to put her TIEs on alert and get them deployed. "Squadrons, ready-up, and deploy, your task is to escort shuttles to and from the surface of Prefsbelt IV. Stay alert, while the New Imperials have been placed on alert if they fire - remind them that they are not the only definition of Imperial in the galaxy." She knew the game that they were to play, and knew it well. It would not be the First Order who fired first.
The distance asked might seem extreme but it prevented any 'accidents' of ships ramming into one another and it maintained a comfortable distance for all parties, for while they might be so keen on jostling the First Order. They would not be so keen on jostling them once Raaf's Imperial Victoria Group arrived led by the five-kilometer Rae Sloane. An encrypted alert told the Commander that Fiolette would arrive in due time and that for now, the First Order was on their own.
Once more on encrypted intrafleet communications, "the New Imperial Order has been asked to maintain a ten-kilometer radius in distance from our fleet. Any attempt to penetrate this radius will be seen as a hostile act. The Concordia will deploy TIE Squadrons to escort shuttles to and from the surface of the planet. Sun-Shin out."

And so with his first mission. Shadows had come to follow Him. His first mission as an Imperial Knight was as if a rite of passage. What remained of the fallen First Order once a shining example of Imperialism now had only stood in the way of a new shining example of Imperialism. As the young man was still learning before having made his way offworld of Dathomir and into the ways of the New Imperial Order. He had heard much of the First Order, he had heard that his Father was directly tied to them. Now be it on this mission for the new recruit would he find the answers he was looking for. Even he did not know.

He still did not know much of anything of the man who was known as Kyrel Ren. He could all but admit the man was an enigma to the young man. Now here he was sent out into battle against what he deemed was the past, and now the past had stood in the way of true progress. After all the foundation had to be built on something. For the young Kyrel it was best decided that the strong foundations of the New Order would be built on top of the fractured decaying corpse of the First Order and the Sith Empire alike. He could only resolve in his mind that like his father. The First Order was the past unable to recapture the glory days they once held while the New Order was the future. Now from what he had heard or read of some of the briefings it had seemed that a key Moff of the Sith stood in the way of what others had called this campaign the Road to Bastion. The Knight while still having much to learn knew that if the First Order did not take offense to much of what the New Order sought to take. The Sith would.

No shots have been exchanged in space from what he saw. He saw the advancing fleet that they had. The evac ships that came from the small First Order fleet. And that of the Sith. Yet another battle it was in the war.

Sitting aboard a gunship the mission was rather simple. Take New Avalonia by force. Yet a test of his metal. For this world is where he would begin the first steps of getting rid of the ghosts that further haunted him. He would aid in paving way for a better and brighter tomorrow. Even if he had to destroy yesterday piece by piece. His head pressed against his created crossguard saber as if the young man was in silent prayer while the gunship rocked back and forth. From what he could only assume was anti air fire as the craft, along with the group it was with stuck close to the atmosphere in its descent towards the city. "Discipline is our strength, honor our creed. Be it light or dark yet the Force be my tool. For the New Order" He muttered to himself his eyes closed as the gunship landed. The doors opened and Jin knew that he was not in Dathomir anymore.

Emerging with the Stormtroopers that had followed them. He would not kill unless he was attacked first. Despite the First Order's presence on this world. Jin remained on guard. Moving cautiously as if a white shadow. He had waited to see just when the Sith would emerge to rear their ugly heads.

It was a buyers market at Prefsbelt IV.

With their victory at Dubrillion, the New Imperial Order had driven the wedge straight through the middle of Tithe’s Sector Group II and the neighbouring Sector Group I. Sith-Imperial supplies and reinforcements could no longer move through the region, leaving loyalist worlds such as Prefsbelt IV isolated. It was agreed by all that the planet would soon fall to the NIO - efforts now were focused on cutting Sith-Imperial losses.

The market was more crowded than Tithe would have liked. The planetary defence force, augmented by the Sith-Imperial Legion and Armada, were poised to make the New Imperials pay dearly for capturing the planet. Every enemy resource expended here was one less which would be levelled against Bastion. The First Order were coordinating humanitarian efforts. That left Tithe to arrange for everything of value which wasn’t electrobolted down to be loaded onto massive cargo haulers and whisked back behind Sith-Imperial lines.

Unexpectedly, another entrant decided to join the market. “Sir, an Admiral Evore representing the Zweihander Union is requesting immunity and permission to land.”

“Ah, very good, allies of the First Order I presume,”
the Moff replied without looking up from the tactical holo.

“No sir.”

“Well then, allies of the New Imperial Order. Designate them enemy combatants and, ah, have a squadron…”

“Sir, our understanding is that the NIO does not recognise their territorial claim.”

Tithe looked up from the tactical holo:
tumblr_pwqwz7qEUb1rpf3pso1_400.gifv

“I’m not sure either sir,” explained the officer. “Armada Intel rates the threat level as low to none.”

“Ah, well, sure. Let's, ah, task a single gunship to keep an eye on them.”

While Prefsbelt IV fell within Tithe’s Sector Group II, his superior Grand Moff Lowe had always taken a close interest in the planet and had largely governed it directly. While he felt no personal attachment to the planet, its fall would be much to the detriment of what remained of Sector Group II.

Maybe it was time for the Moff to cut his own loses and look for a new posting?

The bureaucrat opened a comm channel to his superior. “Grand Moff Lowe, the, ah, the next transport group is away.” The super-heavy transports of Haulage Force Esk, carrying materials valued at more than the entire economies of most Outer Rim planets, lifted from their assigned spaceports and began moving toward low orbit. “The remaining three Forces are preparing to launch, we simply need to garner more time.”

Renata Westaway paced her cramped quarters on the Concordia, feeling very much like a trapped rat. In the corner stood her aide, Freda St. George, the picture of calm and collection, holding a datapad. "What are we even doing here, anyway?" Renata demanded as if Freda herself had conceived of this mission and put it into action. Of course, it wasn't the case. "The mission is to get our people out of the path of these New Imperial people. But are they our people?"

"Ma'am?" asked Freda. "What do you mean?"

"These people. New Avalonia," she said, not able to keep the note of derision from her voice. She stopped pacing and turned to her aide. "I understand the need to get away and start over, but doesn't that make them... you know... someone else's problem? What are we doing here, on the opposite side of the galaxy from home?"

Freda inclined her head, eyebrows furrowing as she grasped her mentor's thought process. "And it's not as if we don't have things to do at home," Freda agreed. "So... what are you doing out here?"

Renata frowned and tidied up her bunk; it was unnecessary because it was already immaculate. "I'm not sure. It was not so much discussed at the Council as announced." Her eye twitched irritably. She glanced back at Freda, who raised an eyebrow. "Oh... you mean me, literally. Yes, I suppose it was optional for me to be here, but I felt someone should be looking after our interests here. I don't know enough about the New Imperials to know their intentions, and I'd rather avoid a diplomatic incident if that is at all possible." Renata's frown deepened until she caught sight of herself in the mirror; the lines in her forehead were enough to make her face jump back to normal, neutral demeanor. "Which," she went on conversationally, "I'm not doing if I'm down here in this windowless, airless box. Come on. Let the Commander know I'm on my way."

She wondered idly whether Masayu Kimura and the Redoubtable were going to be in this engagement, and remembered how sour Commander Kimura's executive officer had been at the presence of a mere politician on his bridge. Let's hope it's a warmer welcome than that time. She and Freda left the quarters and made brisk time towards the turbolift where, a few minutes later, they would emerge onto the bridge.

Transport Squadron 5501 was no formation of starfighter carriers, horde of corvettes or a gargantuan war fleet. It was exactly what its named descrived, two transport ships filled to the brim with legions of soldiers with their corvette escort. Del watched from the bridge of the NIV Siege Tower as the fleet of New Imperial ships moved towards their Sith Imperial targets while First Imperial vessels hyperspaced into the system. Three imperial powers clashing together. This is exactly what one would have imagined the Third Imperial Civil War to be. Del looked back to the bridge crew. Dubrillion had been their trial by fire and while they had succeeded there the battle did not go without its issues. Hesitant officers and gunners unexposed to the damage they are able to bring. To Del this battle would be the deciding factor on whether they had learned their lesson.

He turned inwards. "Helmsman bring us to the front of the Admiral's fleet. Warfare, begin charging weapon batteries and shields. Comms relay the same orders to the other ships." he said and it seemed as if every bridge officer turned and looked at him. "Well? What are you waiting for?!" he almost shouted and his XO spoke up. "Uh, Sir, we're a transport ship. Our armaments wouldn't be able to match our enemy." he said hesitantly. Del shook his head before responding. "I will not cower away when there is glory to be earned! We must all do our part in this war, regardless of the cost" he spoke stoically. "Of course sir..." The Commander said and he looked to the helmsman and comms officer who proceeded with their tasks, the transport squadron lurched forward. Despite following his orders they didn't seem to share his zealotry or believe in his orders and instead followed them solely because he was a higher rank than them.

He turned back to his XO "Commander Viz give me a status report of our troops." The commander nodded and pulled out his datapad. "Deck crews reported the regiment is ready to be deployed to either the space station or planet side Sir. The Skytrain's CO has also notified me their troops are also ready." Del nodded and looked to the comms officer. "Notify the Admiral (Var Koon) we are ready to send our men to either objective." to which the man nodded and sent a transmission to Var Koon's flagship. "Transport Squadron 5501 to NIV Penitent. We are ready to deploy additional troops to the Sith Imperial Station or down planet side. What are our orders?" The comms officer spoke as the Squadron moved forward, stopping short of the very front of the New Imperial fleet line, ensuring there was still some form of defensive line between them and the enemy.

"So.... why are you here again?"

Distant explosions echoed in the skies of Prefsbelt IV as DK-03 performed the downward dog in front of a sunlit window.

"I'm so BORED," DK-03 said, shifting positions.

"Yes, but aren't you... a soldier in the New Imperial Order? You're covered in Imperial symbols."

"Yeah..."

"So... how are you... why did the Governor hire you?"

"She didn't."

"But... you're going to fight the New Imperials?"

"Yeah I mean, I guess. Have you met them? They're absolutely awful."

"So... you're a traitor. Why is the Governor trusting you?"

"Uh, okay, there's a lot to unpack in that statement."

"Like what?"

"Well, I really doubt the Governor even knows I'm here."

"Excuse me?"

"And I'm totally not a traitor, I love the Imperator. Have you met that guy? He's so awesome, I have a poster up in my bedroom."

"Uhm.."

"But gods, THEY ARE JUST SO MEAN. Did they even stop to thank me for the burrito? NO. They ridiculed me, they bullied me. They had me arrested! NJP'd! Not an OUNCE of appreciation. Sure, it leveled an entire residential district, and resulted in the murder of hundreds, but it was beautiful.

BEAUTIFUL, DO YOU HEAR ME."

DK-03 stood from his yoga poses, looking at his minigun, then back at the Secretary that was standing at the entrance of the room. She sat down the tray of food she was carrying, and then walked away, speechless. DK-03 stepped back infront of the window and stared out at the sun.

A cloud in the distance.

DK's eyes seemed to sadden.

A cloud in the distance.

"It was beautiful..."

Berik sounded out.

A Grand Moff. It was the highest pay grade of HVT he'd been assign to snag thus yet. Not that he'd had an illustrious career leading up to Prefsbelt. Regardless, it was time to snatch the prize.

<"Gear check all green."> The Storm Commando sounded out, catching a glimpse down the sights of the sniper as he angled to the floor of the troop bay before cradling it in his arms once more. Thats when the rumbling of the flak and anti-air set in to envelop the Reaper. The turbulance the ol reliable pilot was talking about.

<"Prepare to drop."> The Pilot sounded out. The ramp shot down to make way for the Commandos aboard the Reaper above the courtyard of Brynhilda Manor. He aimed down the sights of his sniper to deliver a dampened round into the chest of a Sith Imperial Legionnaire before he grasped ahold of the repel rope and slid his way down. The shadow of the Reaper didn't stay long before the transport surged away, slinging his sniper over his shoulder, he opted for the short range automatic option in these conditions as he made way for cover, eventually rearing up to deliver a pulse of the carbine into another Sith Trooper as he eyed the entrance to the building itself, his gaze behind the recon helmet peering up the stature of the manor.

It'd be a tough climb.

ASSAULT GROUP
"Prefsbelt Imperial Authority"

Hiram replied in his characteristic diligence. With an added shade of inquiry, he should've expected it, for the former First Order defector to be reluctant in peering down the sights of his weapons with the intent to use them in precision hatred on those he once called countrymen. It was a internal conflict many among this New Order had to follow. As a Kel Dor, his sympathy for the First Order was paper thin. Even the Sith would respect his merit scores more than the First Order might've at their height. All the same, it was not his place to make such drastic plays on behalf of his nation.

He fielded Voss's suggestion.

"I understand, Captain. I did not come here with the desire to kill anything not flying the Crimson Saber. Do not worry of speaking out of line, your input is useful here as you have an adept gauge of how the First Order might operate. Though tell me...why did they wait until now?" Var Koon suggested. It wasn't as if the First Order was wholly unaware of the Third Imperial Civil War. Prefsbelt was set directly in the middle of the fray, they had every means and every excuse to move to make this play prior to the New Imperial Order's excursion into the PIA.

The communications spurred alight and the voice of the First Order commanding officer crackled to life from the other end. Var Koon listened in silence, his gaze peering out of the view port of the command bridge to The Penitent.

So started the game. Silence was broken and the gazes locked. The first to blink would spell the writing on the wall for potential disaster on behalf of each of their nationalities.

"Inform all within AG-PIA to hold in place to the ten kilometer radius they've set. I don't want to risk anyone until I've spoken with them." The Admiral iterates.

"Formation?"

"Move to envelop along the stage they've set, they move at all, they break their own rules." The Kel Dor commands. Not a moment later, the channel of communication was re-opened to the First Order. Assuming it was let through the rest of the way, Var Koon would speak up. His tone and inflection frigid and stoice. The expected demeanor from either channel. Adhering to the line of Imperial doctrine, emotion calcified, concealed, buried.

"Commander Sun-Shin, a pleasure you've decided to join us today. Though, you must be quite aware that your fleet has entered an active combat zone within a war you are no combatant of." The Kel Dor suggests, First Order civilians certainly didn't qualify as combatants, at least the New Imperial rules of engagement had it dictated so.

The Sith might not think along similar lines, however.

"The New Imperial Order does not qualify your people as combatants here. Just as they have not through the entirety of the war leading to this very moment. The entirety of the war within which you and your government had the ample opportunity to do as you are doing now or engage in dialogue with my own to be granted authorized access to this combat zone." Var Koon iterates.

"They failed to do so."

"Though...this was a shortsight of your superiors, not of yourself, nor your subordinates. Thus...these are my terms..."
The Kel Dor paused a for a moment before continuing.

"The offensive on New Avalonia will continue as it has...all the same, you may evacuate the First Order citizens present there...but we know who is here. The Grand Moff Madelyn Lowe Madelyn Lowe is present in New Avalonia. Our gravity wells are set, you may not leave...until it is confirmed that Madelyn Lowe is within New Imperial custody or has been killed in action, your fleet stays still. The sooner she is within our grasp the sooner the assault on New Avalonia stops and the fewer of your people are put at risk." The Kel Dor suggests.

"I know you have open communications with her, tell her if she wishes to act so valiantly in the interests of her people, she will surrender and give herself over willingly. If she does not, the New Imperial Order will more than happily decide her fate on her behalf." The channel closed and beyond the venue the First Order set, the Seventh Fleet continued to positon itself in waiting.

Come the storm or the respite of the First Order, the New Imperial Order would follow through on its objectives.

Commander Sun-Shin listened to what the man had to say, and honestly, she had to wonder one simple thing. Did he believe that today was a good day to die? She saw his game and replied in an open channel, "it would be rude of us interfere and I apologize that we could not join your dance sooner. I also hate to disappoint you if you believe that I or my government care for a Sith Imperial." Her tone was ice, and it was clear she held no love in her heart for the woman.
"But you lay one hand on any civilian bearing our sigil and this little pretense is up, "but I certainly appreciate your candor with regard to your gravity wells." She cut the channel once more and looked over toward the communications officer and one signal was sent forth. The First Order worked to shuttle people who chose to go with them and then another order from Commander Sun-Shin just as Moff Renata Westaway arrived.
First Order TIE Fighters and shuttles deployed in escort formation with medical ships now engaging the white and red of their charter. It would be clear now any shot fired toward the medical ships would be an act of war. When the comms were once again silent Sun-Shin brought up a stormtrooper commander to the deck. "You and your men are to secure the Grand Moff and turn her over to the nearest New Imperial troops if she refuses? Kill her."
"Of course, right away."
"Good, dismissed."

The signal that had been dispatched earlier reached the Rae Sloane, and the only thing New Imperial ships would know would be that many signals would be on the approach and many of them? Would not care for the gravity wells, as it stood, the Yvarros were irritated that they would have to arrive a second time to bail Madelyn Lowe out of trouble. Their patience was nearing its end and as it stood? Fiolette was beyond irritated. At this rate, she was debating bounty boards. A message, encrypted from Fiolette to Tae's eyes. Keep calm, carry on.
"Moff Westaway, a pleasure," Commander Sun-Shin greeted the woman with a smile, "how may I help you?"
