- Cargo for Days: A single 800m cargo field possess a maximum interior volume of 268,190,476 cubic meters, which can be filled by 98,846,660 tons of cargo. Multiple that by the maximum amount of cargo spheres (which is two) and a pair of FSCVs can haul 197,693,320 tons of cargo.
- Insurmountable Defenses: All emphasis has been placed on the FSCV's defenses, thick reinforced durasteel hulls, robust shield generators, and powerful force field projectors to ensure the safety of every ounce of cargo in their care.
- No Weapons: While as big as a destroyer, the engines pods do not possess any weapons. All of their interior space is taken up by engines, fuel cells, and force field generators. The only protection they have is their defenses and their escorting warships.
- Slow: The FSCV's engines blocks are arrayed into six groups, five large thrusters and four small thrusters each, for a total of thirty large and twenty four small engines that propel not only the engine pod, but the entirety of the cargo they are transporting. Despite this vast number of engines, the FSCVs typically took thirty-five hours and 600 million kilometers to move between a full stop and their normal sublight cruising speed.
Trade and commerce is the lifeblood of Empires, and the hyperlanes that intersect every major star system are likes its veins.
As the Sith Empire grows at an exponential rate, more and more goods need to be transported to keep production of Imperial war assets at a pace compatible with the rate of expansion. Multi-ship convoys are all well and good, but something greater had to be achieved to move massive amounts of cargo from one place to the other.
Thus the engineers of the Empire concocted a vessel that used force field technology to project energy bubbles eight hundred meters in diameter that could hold 98,846,660 tons of cargo in a single bubble. A pair of 1600m tugs could carry a maximum of two force field bubbles between them, allowing a monumental amount of cargo to be transported across the vast Sith Empire.
Though weaponless, the FSCV never travels without a dedicated escort. Such an escort usually includes several Star Destroyers and anti-starfighter corvettes and frigates. The vessel was also outfitted with an experimental hyperdrive, capable of achieving greater hyperspace speed than contemporary vessels.
