STANDARD FEATURES
  • Powerful Engine: The engine systems on the Gurkha-Class have been updated into one single unit, which allow for above average speed, traversing the battlefield.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • MK.IV Fire Control System [x]: A fire-control system which allows for all batteries to open fire in one coordinate barrage. Great for hitting a target while its down or exploiting an exposed window of opportunity.
STRENGTHS
  • Slugger: The Gurkha is a slugger. It packs a weapons arsenal a touch above most others and when working in coordination with its brothers and sisters, can pack a wallop.
  • Coordinated Fire: Armed with the MK.IV Fire Control System, the Gurkha-Class can fire in a coordinated barrage with all its batteries at once. Could cause a lot of trouble for the enemy.
WEAKNESSES
  • Going 'Round The Bend: Manoeuvrability has been forsaken speed. The Gurkha isn't about to take any quick turns any time soon.
  • Single Engine: Unlike its cousin, the Caçadores, the Gurkha has a single powerful engine which is vulnerable to enemy attack. While it has some guns covering the rear, a successful attack here could rob the Gurkha of one of its advantages.
DESCRIPTION
The Gurkha-Class corvette started as a sub-project of the Caçadores corvette project, however it developed into something rather different over time. The Gurkha effectively became a more, palatable, versatile and easier manufactured vessel. As such, the speed and armament on the Gurkha is not nearly as effective as that shown by the Caçadores, but yet far more effective than other vessels of the same size. Its engines can still outrun most larger enemy guns and cause some serious damage. But there are a few drawbacks.

First and foremost, manoeuvrability has been compromised in favour of speed. This makes turning very quickly a nigh impossibility. Defences aboard the Gurkha-Class have not been updated either, and are rather average for a corvette of its size. Then there's the engine, less exposed than the Caçadores, but with it being a single, powerful unit, the vulnerability there exists. And said vulnerability, if exploited could cripple the vessels speed and allow it to be picked apart.

Overarchingly, the Gurkha is an inferior vessel to the Caçadores-Class, but, in strong enough numbers and with a competent commander, can perform a similar role. Sprinting in and around the larger guns of vessels and providing debilitating assaults upon them.
