For a long moment after the initial blast, Valery stood with her eyes closed and the hilt of her weapon drawn into her hand. She could feel so much happening around her. So much chaos, shock, and confusion — it was an overwhelming pulse in the Force that kept on repeating. She knew that, though she survived this bombing, she was far from safe. Hostile intent was everywhere and she knew better than to trust anything or anybody on Denon.

This place had proven her time and time again to be extremely cautious.

The sound of footsteps and a presence in the Force alerted her to someone approaching. Knowing it could mean trouble, she tapped the activation switch right as Daiya Daiya entered her cabin, and watched as the violet blade ignited to illuminate them both, as well as the metal around them. Her fiery eyes narrowed at the young woman, trying to pierce through whatever mental barriers she had to find out who she was. She had received help from strangers on Denon before, but it could just as easily be another hunter looking to claim her life.

"You shouldn't be here," Valery told her. From her point of view, she was just looking at a kid, after all. But somehow, this kid supposedly knew who was trying to kill herself. Valery remained doubtful, and her priority right now was securing herself before drawing any conclusions, but another face appeared. One she could trust.

"Cartri?" she asked, clearly surprised to see him here as well. "You tell me, I almost got blown up," she grumbled and it was his presence that had her disengage her lightsaber again. For now, she was going to place her trust in these two and get out of here, but her senses remained on high alert.

Any moves made against her, she'd know about, and she was more than ready to respond.

"Where is this safe place?" Valery asked Daiya. She also had the idea to contact Yula Perl Yula Perl somehow, who she knew would give her shelter. But for now, she just had to get out of here.

"Oh that pompous sounding bi-"

Iris was already reaching for the mic. Which, thankfully, Alicio took up instead. She muttered to herself, letting him handle it as he said he would. At least he made it clear they weren't going to sit around following the orders of the DireX like the chumps already doing that. After a moment, she sighed though. Frowned. No, that's not how she should be thinking. Valery was in trouble, yes, but that wasn't an excuse.

Valery would be less than pleased, anyway.

The shuttle touched down and she was up, hooking her lightsabers on her waist, making her way to the off ramp. Readying herself. Chaos, combat. She doubted the Cooperate Authority wouldn't be shooting at them.

"You know we can't trust any of them. We're on our own for the most part. .. Mostly." She clicked on her com. There was at least one person she could trust here. Someone she knew.

"What's happening?"

Makko was still blinking his eyes open. He was in the dark too. During their runs, they were kept disconnected from other networks for their safety.

He reached behind his head and pulled the twin cable from the nape of his neck. It was a few weeks since he had been made to disconnect from a deep run in such a rush. His chair hissed as it sat him upright.

His eyes glazed over for a moment.

"Corpo enforcers on the streets outside the warehouse, some of them heading towards us."

Two other members of Fractal State headed for Makko and Lossa in a rush. A blaster pistol was bundled into Makko's lap.

"You got a comm on you?" one of them levelled at Lossa. The pair stood facing her from her left and right, standing uncomfortably close.

"Or a datapad, hand it over!"

"We should check her for a wire."

"Hey!" Makko interrupted, sitting up. "It's not Lossa."

There was a heavy knock on the metal doors to the warehouse.

"It's not!" confirmed Jarrick. "Greebo, Cia, go pull the disks and check the tunnels instead of bothering her. Someone bombed a train. Wasn't us, but corpos're all over the streets. Garigg, go and deal with those corpos at the door."

The two shot Lossa a harsh glare. Not because they still suspected her, but because they had to back down from a confrontation.

Garigg was a mountain of a man, as much robotic as he was human.

"You two," Jarrick addressed Lossa and Makko. "Get anything we don't want the corpos finding down into..."

"Boss, where do you want them?" interrupted Garigg.

soonjae-hong-asset.jpg

"I meant keep them busy for a while not..."

"Deal with them?" Makko finished.

"Kark."

(Post Soundtrack: "I Count on Me" by Aloe Blacc)

The train car had been empty when she entered. Empty of everyone but one, singular occupant.

Daiya's whole attention was focused on her, and the violet blade that had just erupted from the woman's hilt. She knew what it meant, even if she had never seen one in action. The young shadowrunner might not have been told who the Alliance delegate was, but now it wasn't hard to figure out. Jedi. She almost withdrew her hand as the realization settled in on her. Some important Jedi, with a title that probably sounded impressive to someone, but Daiya wasn't having second thoughts because of the woman's importance or the ignited laser sword in her hand.

Jedi brought war to the galaxy, and Daiya wanted none of it on her homeworld.

"I shouldn't be here?" The young shadowrunner stared at the laser sword, her blaster arm coming up automatically in defense. Daiya took a step back, tightening her jaw in to steady herself for a fight. A fight was going to end badly in the cramped confines of the burning train car, but the young shadowrunner figured she had space for a shot. Two, maybe. "You shouldn't be—" Alive? Daiya shook her head, still trying to dislodge the sharp pain between her eyes. "Look, we're just wasting time, can we please..."

The teen drew in a breath as first one, then two of her friends appeared inside the train car. She turned to each of them in turn, a bitter cold running down her spine. "No, no, no! You shouldn't be here!" Everything was getting messy now, made far worse by the arrival of friends in the middle of danger. Daiya's eyes darted between the two, her gazed laced with both disappointment and concern. "Get out of here and—"

Daiya blinked back surprise, watching the Jedi disengage her laser sword. Her eyes shifted to Cartri, finding the whole situation getting even messier. "You know her?"

That was going to make this day far more difficult for Daiya.

She was used to not knowing everything for a shadowrunner job. Even with the most intensely-planned Darkwire missions, Daiya was always in the dark about something. The splinter Darkwire sect had been even more notorious about secrets, resisting even Daiya's most desperate charms to learn more. After this, she was promised, Darkwire would be taken seriously. After this, Daiya hoped, Darkfire would take her seriously. She hadn't expected there was someone else's trust she still had to earn.

"Fething great. At least now you know it wasn't me who tried to kill you." The teen muttered wryly, lowering her blaster again. Her forehead pulsed behind the helmet plating, the sharp pain becoming an intense throbbing sensation. She shut her eyes, wishing they would just open to a Vision again. Whatever else was going to surprise her today, Daiya wished it would just. Fething. Happen!

And then the world outside the train car exploded again.

"FETH!" Daiya's eyes flew open to watch a CorpSec gunship explode into a fiery bloom. It paled next to the bomb on the train, yet violent enough to make the teen's eyes grow fearfully wide as she grabbed for her nearest friend. Her hands fell on Cartri, looking up into his gaze. What other secrets was he hiding from her? The teen swallowed, and pressed her helmeted forehead against his. "Can you get her out of here?" Daiya leaned back and nodded straight at Brie, her eyes pleading with the part of her boyfriend she knew intrinsically. "Please?!"

"Go with him, please?" Daiya asked of her best friend, not having the time to do much more. A message scrolled across the top of her HUD, but the teen ignored it for the bigger priority in front of her right now. The gunship outside was now a fireball still headed on its original course.

A fiery ball of death headed straight at them.

Turning back to the Jedi, the young shadowrunner holstered her blaster. She held up her hands to show the woman her intent was genuine. "Truce? Trust me, I know all the good places to hide. We need to get the feth outta here first, can you jump or do you need to hold on to me?"

Hanging out the door of the train car, Daiya beckoned for the Jedi to follow. Then she raised her right arm, firing the liquid cable launcher into a lower building, far enough to get them clear of the collision. She didn't know if her suit could handle two of them, and was really hoping that she didn't have to find out. An injured Jedi would make it harder to evade another CorpSec expedition, and the next one was sure to be worse.

Daiya was ignoring the option to just leave the Jedi to her original fate for now.

"And do you think you can turn off the Force chit first?" Daiya asked the Jedi, squinting through her visor between the throbbing pain between her eyes. Without a Vision showing up and everything else feeling fine, the teen was forced to reckon with another downside of her Curse. "It's giving me a headache."

With the Jedi's answer —and perhaps even her weight— in hand, Daiya jumped them off the doomed train wreckage.

The way was clear for the people from the Galactic Alliance, the jedi and her accomplice, whoever it was. He didn't really think to ask. The moment that they knew the way was open, he left, went around back, skirting under the camera and shot it with his blaster rifle. With that clear, he removed his helmet and jacket and first removed his pistols from the jacekt, before putting them in their holsters. Then he tied his helmet and rifle in his jacket, before tossing it, and tossing it hard, into the city. It sailed past about five buildings, before crashing down hard on the sixth. He heard a ping, but he knew that the helmet and rifle would be destroyed and beyond repair by the time that they landed. That was the only thing that made him wince.

Sighing, he walked around the other way of the building, looking around and lost as he looked up at the landing ship. The moment that the landing ramp opened, however, he waved smiling. "Ah! Master Jedi!" He approached a bit, weapons holstered, as the sound of sirens was growing somewhat. "It's me, Raphael! I helped you, the little nautolan jedi and the big jedi out on the battle for Sedri!" Then he chuckled a little bit, scratching his head. "I'm, uh, not surprised if you don't fully remember me. I couldn't do a ton, but I did help a good number of sedrians get away."

He looked up at the ship. "...if you don't mind my asking, how did you all land? I thought they weren't letting anyone land as account of everything that was going on. I was originally going to go to the barracks and help with the group that was gathering, though..." He looked down the way. "It looks like I might be a bit too late for that..."

He turned back to her and sighed, shrugging a bit. "If, uh, if you need another hand, I'm more than happy to join you all." She might notice that between the two times there'd been a noticeable shift to his demeanor. Whereas before, he'd been a bit more reserved and a bit less willing to speak to her or any of the jedi, now he seemed more than pleased to do so. As Alicio would begin moving down, Raphael would waive to him as well, with a bit of a smile. "Hello!" Then he looked back to Iris. "Do you know what's going on, master jedi? I...haven't been able to get handle on things."

The police presence was definitely upping the stakes.

Running the trash pickup, the Squib knew the back alleys and streets that weren't widely traveled, or even well known. Before long, the garbage hauler was pulling into the Midnight Zone.

The drop-off point was easy to overlook. The Amavikkan guarding the entrance easily mistakable for the homeless that were omnipresent on any corner in this part of the city.

Hopping down from the landspeeder, the Squib was careful to keep his hands up as the welcoming committee came over. He was still a relatively new associate. Not well known throughout Darkwire's network of contacts, but that was the beauty of it. The singular trick that had enabled the Squib to deftly navigate between Corporate loyalist and Darkwire supporter.

After all, operating a business on Denon required that one put themselves in DireX's good graces -- which often meant in debt to their financial interests. So if one's business model relied on supplying parts and equipment to the rebels, that was kind of a conflict of interests that was going to blow up at one point or another.

Perhaps tonight was the night it would blow up on him. All things considered, Ree had decided that was a gamble worth the investment. Force only knew, the Corpos were making it impossible to run a legitimate business on the planet. Rampant corruption, high taxes, and the systematic devaluing of Moonfall's land values made the Squib a virtual prisoner to the planet.

If he was going bankrupt, he might as well go out with a bang.

The Amavikkan inspected the goods on the speeder, allowing the disguised loader droid to begin off-loading the contents into the station that was the first point of entry in The Tombs.

Gideon was likely around somewhere. He was who the Squib had hoped to be dealing with, but the human was probably down in the lower levels of the forgotten subway station, in case Darkwire needed to go underground before this was all over.

But, then, that was why the Squib was here.

The shield generator would help to provide additional protection should the Tombs be identified. While the weapons were to resupply the Darkwire with the means to continue the fight.

As for the couch?

Well, who throws out a perfectly good couch?

Dominique smirked as the Jedi ( Alicio Organa Alicio Organa ) made their response and their disdain clear.

How fortunate. Vexx hadn't offered them an ounce of assistance, nor was she particularly inclined to do so. They were pawns on her chess board, and she'd have them sacrificed should their deaths be of particular concern or notice to those of genuine power. The Force empowered many, and yet so many of its users still answered to those without such mystical ability. Those with genuine means to shake Denon were her concern -- and giving them every reason to cease their bellyaching.

<"Denon observes all applicable Alliance standards, as the Jedi should well know."> Or they were free to try maligning Denon at their own peril later. <"Do not hesitate to call for our assist should you find your Master. The DireX has neither intent nor design to cause her any harm."> Not that she expected them to believe her. Which wasn't her problem. It might very well be their problem if they were surrounded and slaughtered because they believed Denon was the enemy due to their prejudices. Really, though, that would suit Vexx fine if the worse happened. It would play well before the Senate.

So long as some idiot CorpSec on the ground wasn't the one that killed them. That would necessitate uncovering every rock said person(s) hid under their entire lives and building a very deep narrative to explain their actions -- in other words, a headache.

The Senator tapped a message in to be sent to the District 7 Incident Commander ( Hargo Zur Hargo Zur ) about the two Jedi -- Knight Arani and her attache -- entering the field. And an advisory that they should fully expect at least a few more Jedi in or around the District without authorization. Their orders were simple: try not to kill them, but you're not subject to their authority unless strictly mandated by Alliance code. That last bit was only thrown in so if any investigation demanded evidence they'd see Vexx clearly said personnel should abide by all pertinent legal statutes.

In the meantime, Vexx's golden eyes turned back to the screens monitoring the situation at or near the train. Timing was key to Vexx's plan. Too early and her proposal would be rejected. Too late and it wouldn't matter. With so many rogue agents in the area timing wasn't her only problem either.

"Oh that pompous sounding bi-"

Alicio chanced a smile at Iris, but he didn't comment.

Senator Vexx's reply was less adversarial than Alicio had feared it might be. A single eyebrow raise accompanied the Count's pensive face, as he tried to rationalize the minimal resistance. "Thank you," he replied simply, before putting down the mic, and joining Iris at the exit ramp.

"I know," he agreed, making sure his own lightsaber was at hand. His demeanor was more cold and calculating than his usual calm, amiable self. "But we can trust their motives. CorpSec doesn't want to create ill-will with the Alliance, especially right now. So as long as hurting us makes them look bad, they won't do it."

The ramp lowered as Iris made her holocall, and Alicio found a chilled frown. They couldn't be seen with a vigilante, especially not Alicio, if he ever wished to submit evidence to the Senate. But he didn't comment on that, either, trusting Iris' judgment as they disembarked.

Immediately, they were met by a new face.

The senator's eyes narrowed suspiciously as Raphael approached them, claiming to know the Knight. "We were given clearance," the noble said cautiously, looking back to Iris.

"Do you know him?"

Being seen with the vigilante would be terrible.

But that wasn't her intent. Red Mask couldn't be seen, but Corin could. Or so she hoped, anyway. Give him a chance to work without the mask, see how he could help people, who knew. And, well. If that didn't work, at least they'd have a place to run and hide if the Corpos turned out to be more aggressive than originally expected. Back up plans on back up plans.

Some of the stuff Corin taught her.

"They'll spin a story however they need to. They have the money. This isn't Coruscant, Alicio. Be glad they haven't realized you're a senator yet."

She paused as the stranger came up. Stranger? Someone who apparently knew her. Sedri? Her eyes narrowed for a moment. In study, not distrust. there was a lot happening on Sedri, and with her own Padawan there she didn't have a chance to focus on everything like she normally would. At least his colors were honest.

"In passing. He's honest. If we have to fight, having an extra would be useful."

Part 1: Welcome to Denon
Seven Corners, Denon

"The fuck you mean the gig's cancelled?"

"Corpos are going nuts. Can't really have a show when they've busted down my windows, how have you not noti-" the holocall beeped meekly as the connection died.

Rev's face split in a nasty snarl as he hurled the holocomm into the speeder window, the gadget shattering into a rain of cheap metal that only added to the detritus strewn about the floor. His bassist, a Rodian named Booj, stared at him with exhausted eyes through the smoke that choked the cabin. "Really?"

"Yes," Rev grunted as he drew back his sleeve and pulled the cap off of one of his stims.

"You're an idiot Rev. You're doing too much of that stuff, acting like a fool." Booj folded his arms over his chest and turned his gaze out toward the window.

Rev could only roll his eyes, "Can't sing if I'm feeling shitty. This helps." Not waiting for a response, Rev slammed the syringe into his arm. The rush of the stim flooding through his system was an immediate one, his frustration over the cancelled show fading to a minor annoyance, replaced by an addictive confidence that he was increasingly growing to rely on.

"What was that fixer talking about?" He mumbled, thumping a fist on the blacked-out windowpane that separated them from the driver's cabin. The window hissed open in response, "Hey what's -" the mercenary paused, his brow knitting in confusion and mouth hanging agape as a blaster was shoved in his face.

It seemed the speeder had come to a halt, and they'd not noticed due to his decision to blackout the windows. Furthermore, the driver's head was hanging loosely to the side, his eyes shut and twitching beneath the lids. Then there was the rifle pointed directly at his face, held by a corpo footman in regalia he couldn't quite make out.

"I'm complying!" Rev snapped, hands up high. Booj did the same.

"Get your asses out and face the wall." The footman snarled.

When the doors slid open, Rev took note of the stacks of smoke curling up around the road. A number of speeders lay destroyed, bodies strewn about with them, and more corpo thugs meandering through the survivors stun prodding anyone that did not comply. Two of the footmen poked their rifles into his and Booj's backs, urging them toward the side of a caf shop.

"What's this about?" Rev asked stupidly.

"Hold still. Commencing cybernetic scan. Resistance will be met with force." One of the footmen crackled through his vocoder, a hand raised to his head as he began the scan.

Not keen on waiting for the inevitable violence, Rev took to it on his terms. His arms separated into three pieces on his mental command, the heat mods of the vibroblades that sprung from the housing in his arms humming loudly as they came to life. The guitarist spun on his heel, his blades carving cleanly through the chest of one footman, the soldier falling in two superheated bisected pieces. The second fired on Rev, the small caliber slugs thumping meekly against the subdermal plate in Rev's shoulder. Rev sprung in response, cleaving the man's head clean from his shoulders with a swipe of the arm-blades.

"Think we should go," Revolution announced as he turned toward his companion. The bloody corpse of Joob greeted him, several of the slugs having found a new home in his chest.

"Well shit." Rev could only shake his head as more of the nearby footmen took notice. "You were kind of a dick Joob, but you were a good bassist." The snap of bullets whizzing past his head pulled Rev from his momentary memorial.

Time to get off the streets then -- or perhaps he might indulge himself for a bit. The corpos had already cleared his schedule for him, after all.

"Cartri?" she asked, clearly surprised to see him here as well. "You tell me, I almost got blown up,"
"You can say that again. Thankfully you still seem to be in one piece" he said with a slight grin as she finally put her saber away. If he hadn't come at that time Daiya may have been in some trouble. If it wasn't for Cartri knowing the Jedi, who knew what would have happened between them. With that in mind, he turned to Daiya and looked surprised at her reaction "What do you mean? some psycho has blown up the train and you're not expecting me not to help?" he said back, his brow raising from her surprise to knowing Valery "Yea... we'll have to talk about that later"

Suddenly, a fireball exploded in the outside of their carriage, making the very thing rock backward and forwards. Seeing the fearful look in Daiya's eyes, he reached forwards and took her hands. Cartri glared into her eyes calmly and gently placed his forehead against hers, even through the most daring times they would always find a way to connect "I will keep her safe alright?" he said softly "Just promise me to get back safe" Cartri smiled and gave a reassuring rub on her shoulder. If anyone was going to keep Valery safe, it was Daiya

"Valery, we will speak again soon, hopefully in better circumstances," the teen said with a respectful nod to the master. Cartri turned to Brie and took her by the hand, lightly trying to bring her over to the door "Don't worry about them fishbowl, they'll get through this like we will" in all honesty there was uncertainty as to what was truly out there. Either way, he was going to face it head on.

Daiya blinked back surprise, watching the Jedi disengage her laser sword. Her eyes shifted to Cartri, finding the whole situation getting even messier. "You know her?"

The two girls shared the exact same confusion towards the whole messy situation they had found themselves in, and ginger boy soon found not one but two pair of eyes questioning him. It was also quite the coincidence to find him by their side all of a sudden. Daiya had not mentioned him being part of the mission. They were going steady alright, but if anything Brie knew that Daiya probably would want some boy-free space from time to time. Brie holstered her pistol and looked between them talking, trying to sort things out temporarily with what little time they had left. The fireball exploding outside rocked the train car and made Brie seek support in a holding rail above.

Brie snorted and looked blankly at her bestie now telling her that they would split up and go separate ways out of this inferno. It was beyond the scrapper girl, who had come to question why and how she had survived alone for so many years, now putting more value on the usage of teamwork Daiya had showed Brie ever since she invited her to Darkwire.

''Hmph! Where are you going, then?'' she asked plainly, obviously doubting the decision to do so. ''I thought we were going to do this together?'' Brie continued, before becoming silent and getting on other thoughts as Cartri and Daiya shared a brief moment of closeness.

Cartri turned to Brie and took her by the hand, lightly trying to bring her over to the door "Don't worry about them fishbowl, they'll get through this like we will" in all honesty there was uncertainty as to what was truly out there. Either way, he was going to face it head on.

"Come on, we're going to make a jump to the roof before we get toasted by a raining fireball"

Cartri would have to use a not insignificant amount of force to pull fishbowl - Stars, would he ever stop using that nickname? - before Brie reluctantly left Daiya's side. But not before Brie had given her best friend a long good look that wordlessly wished her friend good luck, and that there would be hell to pay if they didn't returned. Brie followed ginger boy to make a leap from the train, which soon were going to get hit with the fireball falling from the sky.

Brie tried to pry open the first side door they passed. It was easier said than done when the trains electrics were disrupted and damaged.

''Would you give me a hand, Cartri? I swear, if Daiya and that woman does not return home safely, you want to be far away from me!'' she threatened half heartedly, all busy with getting the door open and trying to keep a look out of the window for that fireball coming rushing at them.

The cables were removed from Makko's head, an activity that had perplexed Lossa when they had been making mentions of what he would be doing.

She didn't understand the endeavor or why they were doing it.

Then a duo barked at her about the item she had brought in. Most likely would have shrunk away from the sudden confrontation. The pink girl however seemed to puff up further against their accusations.

"Hey! You already went over that chit! Quit-" The Zeltron was prepared for more of a fight before someone else interrupted and gave directions.

Her eyes locked on the two bodies dangling from the mechanical arms of the man they called Garrick. Or was it Garrig? Her eyes looked over the two dangling forms, eyes going wide as the implications of what they'd done hit.

Those were corporate guards.

Didn't matter as she looked to her datapad and before moving to the couch before she stuffed it inside her Sling Bag. The headphones shoved in behind it and moving to hurry Makko.

"Come on. Come on come on come on. I can't get caught here."

Ruby stood up, threw on some clothes, and topped her ensemble off with a leather jacket. If the world was ending, might as well look good, right? She grabbed her blaster pistol and what few weapons she had stashed around the place.

And as she started up the stairs towards the kitchen, she could hear voices.

Narrowing her eyes, Ruby gripped the door knob tightly and then swung the door out hard -- just missing the Doc. Or, maybe she'd clipped him a bit with the edge of the door. Ooops. "H-what the feth?" She started at the man. "Doc, is that you? What are you doing outside my bedroom?" Given that she had no idea what the fresh heck was going on outside, it definitely seemed... odd to find a man crouched outside her door.

Then, she noticed Anakin. "What? You're here, too?" Ruby pointed a finger at him.

"Just... what's going on!?"
Ruby shouted, confused. So very confused.

But then Mrs. Ito came into view, motioning for them to get down. "You can't stay here," she said, urgently. Her eyes were on Ruby, but her gaze swept over Doc and Anakin as well -- figuring they were Ruby's friends. Which they were, sort of. "We're leaving -- you better, too."

Well, Ruby supposed that settled it, then.

"We can go out the back..." Ruby said, nodding to her fellow shadowrunners. Would they have somewhere to go? Was there anywhere left for them? Was... he safe from whatever this was? Ruby didn't even really want to think about it. But she secretly hoped so.

Four degrees, the perfect temperature for a cold beer, the perfect temperature to create those drops of condensation on the side of the plastic cup that would run down the smooth surface twinkling as they caught the neon lights that seemed to be ever present on Denon. It created an interesting prism effect that caught the woman's eye for a moment, patterns dancing over the surface of her drink as she slowly swirled it around in her fingers. Natsu was determined to keep to his role, the affable street cart vendor, but she knew him well enough to understand that there was more to the man than that. Like everyone else on the planet he only showed others what he needed to, it was the only way you'd survive.

So he must have been more concerned than he was letting on.

This was the first time that the man had opened up part of his network to them since he'd thrown her together with Impulse. Binary honestly wasn't sure if it was because he was that worried, or that he had a larger plan in mind, reading Natsu was hard. It would have been impossible before but her body came with certain…advantages. If she was honest, the level of control, of training needed to be able to mask your emotions and tells that completely was frankly terrifying. What was perhaps more terrifying to her was how she's come to rely on her body's programming, it's ability to read minute responses and tells, to read other people. Who knows what else she'd started to do without realising it.

For a moment Binary closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before she opened them again, dark orbs shifting past Natsu's face coming to rest on Pulse. A single slim digit reached up to tap against her lips for a moment before she nodded slowly.

"We could get into the zone, that shouldn't be too difficult, they'll be more concerned about keeping people out than people getting in. This is CorpSec after all, they think that we'd be crazy to risk tangling them, and you know, they just might be right. But then, we've never been adverse to crazy before right? The hard part will be breaking that blockade but, they can't be everywhere watching everything. In all the chaos, a small group sneaking their way out wouldn't be worth their time. Bigger fish to fry."

A hit like this was bound to stir up the underworld like a nest of hornets, criminals large and small would turn out to answer aggression like this, or to take advantage of the chaos for their own aims. The woman's lips curled up into a smile as she leaned back a little, her eyes meeting Jackie's.

"Assuming they're alone, this might be an opportunity for a little dress-up."

"Come on. Come on come on come on. I can't get caught here."

"Okay, okay," said Makko, picking up on the urgency. He looked at the two bodies Garigg dropped. He hadn't seen anywhere near as much death in his life that people assumed. Neither of the corpo security officers seemed to be breathing.

"Where are you going?" Jarrick asked, watching them both carefully. His expression almost immediately softened.

The gang was a far more violent wing of Darkwire, but they recruited by offering the family kids didn't have at home or on the street. Jarrick reminded himself how young Makko still was.

"Get to the tunnels, we're going to slow them down here and then draw them below. Take these, do not let them fall into the wrong hands." Jarrick handed a clear plastic wallet full of data chips to Makko.

The sound of a corpo dropship could be heard through the warehouse walls. The sound resonated as several others joined the first.

"Come on," Makko said to Lossa. He slipped the plastic wallet into a packet. Behind some heavy machinery were the stairs down. Makko new some of the tunnels were rigged with traps to aid their escape. He led Lossa down, swinging a searchlight ahead of them.

He took a left and a right, but was pushing his knowledge of the layout to the limit. He saw a flash of light ahead and switched off his own torch.

"Kark, there are people down here already," he hissed.

There was a moment between where Lossa sincerely wondered just what she had gotten herself into with coming to Denon on a whim. She'd wanted to clear her head of her worries and just get a little breathing space to sort out how she felt.

Not actively take part in someone else's horrific game of cat and mouse.

Was it always like this on Denon? Between the shady warehouse and sudden appearance of the corporate goons, she couldn't imagine actually liking this place.

Makko was handed a clear looking case that Lossa quickly deemed was something she wanted nothing to do with. Even going so far as to avert her gaze a little when he pocketed the thing. Ignorance was bliss and the more she didn't have to lie was the easier she could pass a Detector for.

Or at least that was what she told herself.

A loud something could be heard outside as she was led into the tunnels. The sound of people approaching from outside not lost on her as they cleared the ground floor and went lower.

"They going to be alright?" She wasn't entirely sure which group she meant in her words. The corporate goons had been interrupting something sure, but even she couldn't help but worry about the people Makko hung around with. Even in a short time, she'd seen that they were important to him.

Even being sketchy folk, they were still people in the end. To deny that meant being little better than the Sith really in her mind.

A few turns later and their light went out. Or he turned it off, but another light was just down the way. His curse about the other light however made her cautious.

"Tell me you all have like, a friend signal or something." The game of loth-cat and rat was not something Lossa was terribly fond of since she usually lost.

TRAIN COLLISION SITE
A bulky airspeeder orbited lazily around the crash site. Scanning, scanning, scanning. High altitude. Coated black, inscrutable to sensors, and the noise coming from it was barely even soft hum. These situations were delicate, and mandated a delicate touch. That, and the last aircraft in the area that got too close had been shot out of the sky with a rocket.
If some local had that kind of heavy ordnance, who knew what else was hanging around in the area. It meant more security sweeps had to be conducted before they quickened their advance and closed the perimeter. Nobody got paid enough to walk straight into an ambush.
So far scans hadn't picked up anything abnormal. Except for the Jedi's car and towards the rear of the train. Lifeforms were present, and they didn't quite like how the one they picked up at the fuselage was moving around.
The technicians in the back were still arguing how to file the report when Daiya and company started booking it from the wreck. And of course they recognized the lady of the hour on their viewscreens.
///: Transmission Start
Valery Noble (VN-0) has exited the wreckage along three Unidentified Subjects (US-X). Presumed malcontents.
US-1 is in direct company of VN-0. Registered heavily armored. Likely armed. Bearing data is attached. Projected Threat: High. Caution advised.
US-2, US-3 are departing in a different direction. Bearing data attached. No discernible equipment. Projected Threat: Low. Caution advised.
Fourth Unidentified Subject (US-4) detected at railcrawler fuselage. Coordinates attached. Movement is suspicious. Secondary explosions expected. All personnel advised to remain clear of the collision site.
VN-0 remains a priority. Will continue to observe status remotely. All frequencies being monitored.

A group of speeders were rushing into the scene, corpo officers had already secured the district. The rooftops and intersections were billowing with sirens and armed men. The investigators were following behind, Emraj’s unit was one of the first to follow. He was mostly there as support, it was an all hands situation so they needed everyone capable on site. Emraj activated his comm link “Alright everyone. Security has asked us to support them in securing District 7, Darkwire has a strong presence in the area so if you come across any of their operatives be ready to take them in alive. Set blasters to stun.”

He then switched to the open comm channel for the Corpos operating in District 7. “This is Senior Investigator Emraj Hosdole of CorpSec-Investigations. We’ll be supporting to apprehend any Darkwire terrorists in Baker’s Row.” Listening to the chatter on the way to District 7, it seemed that bounty hunters were dispatched, which relieved Emraj who didn’t want to deal with incompetent security officers. The group of speeders had turned onto Baker’s Row, Emraj and his entourage of investigators had parked outside of the op area and exited their vehicles. The investigators were lightly armed compared to their security counterparts. They were all dawning sharp suits over durasteel plates carrying blasters. They were meant to be light and maneuverable yet still capable in a fight.

Corpos were getting desperate if they were getting outside help for this one. It seemed every precinct mobilized for this very moment. Emraj approached a lieutenant who was staring idly at her datapad and stood at attention after seeing Emraj from her peripherals. "What's the situation?" He asked. "So far nothing, sir. District Commander Zur has ordered a full sweep, Silver Shield Group Silver Shield Group is on site as well as a unit lead by Samuel Exel Samuel Exel we probably still have more support coming in."

"Excellent." Emraj then walked past her with his investigators behind him, they're blasters removed from their satchels. Moving into further into Baker's Row.

Objective: Survive the District 7 Crackdown
Location: Ito's Atrisian Cuisine
"Doc? Do you know what's caused this?"

Doc Painless whirled around as the familiar voice reached his ears. Where the kark had Anakin come from? The street medic was pretty sure he would've noticed if the runner had been eating in the restaurant; he was kind of hard to miss. But the Doc had also seen him do things that defied all logical explanation, tapping into the kind of abilities that gave physicists aneurysms and made primitive tribes start religions, so there was no point in dwelling on it. However and whenever he'd arrived, Anakin was there. And as nice as it was to have an ally show up, his presence would cause more problems than it solved. He was highly visible and highly wanted, which was a bad, bad combo.

The Doc tried not to think of the last time they'd been caught in a CorpSec raid together, back at the Blue Flame.

That hadn't ended very well for either of them, and it didn't bode well for right now.

"There was a bombing," the street medic said, not bothering to delve into politics or nuances. He wasn't sure where Anakin stood on the issue of how Darkwire should fight the corpos, and he didn't want the wrong people to overhear them discussing it. "Now CorpSec has locked down District 7, and when they're done clearing the streets, they'll kick in all the doors." He said it in a low, tense whisper, not wanting to panic the restaurant customers but also fighting his own rising panic. And he couldn't afford to panic. He took a slow, deep breath. The first thing to do in an emergency, his mom had always told him, is to take your own pulse. He needed to be in control.

"Maybe there's a way out that doesn't involve street level," the Doc went on, eyeing the downstairs door hopefully...

... right up until the moment that it flew violently open, clipping his shoulder, and Ruby Jaxx stepped out.

"Doc, is that you? What are you doing outside my bedroom?" The street medic sighed and rubbed his bruised arm, smothering his fear in disappointment. "Bedroom, huh?" he asked. "Don't imagine it has a back door." Ruby didn't seem to have any idea about the chaos erupting just outside, and the Doc was about to start catching her up when the restaurant owner swept into the kitchen, intent on turning them out. It was understandable. If Doc Painless had been in her shoes, recognizing that she was harboring three known Darkwire members during a massive crackdown, he... well, he would've done different, but he was ready to put his life on the line for the cause.

She wasn't, and that was okay. In fact, it was normal. He wasn't going to judge her for it.

"Out the back it is," the street medic said, trying not to sound too bleak. He didn't favor their chances out in the open; this was a massive security sweep, no doubt involving tens of thousands of total personnel, and CorpSec would be watching cams and deploying probes and scouting alleys on speeder bikes. Neither running nor hiding was going to be an easy option, if indeed they were possible at all. "Anakin, if you know a rainy day safehouse or escape tunnel we can reach, now's the time to play that card." The Doc turned to face Ruby. "Are you carrying? I hope we can avoid the patrols, but it's probably going to come down to shooting at some point."

And if it does, it'll probably be a messy last stand. The kind none of us walk away from.

The Doc patted his blaster, took a deep breath, and stepped out the back door.

He was greeted by the wail of sirens, the crackle of gunfire, and screams.
