PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Prototype Blaster
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Average
  • Ammunition Type: Prototype Gas Container
  • Ammunition Capacity: Average
  • Effective Range: Average
  • Rate of Fire: High
  • Damage Output: High
  • Recoil: Low
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Combo Breakers have a variety of firing modes, including a standard rapid-fire setting and decreasing the Rate of Fire to improve the Effective Range. Listed below is a selection of potential ammunition mixtures:
    • Tibanna: Standard tibanna, unremarkable but reliable results. Cheap and easy.
    • TibannaX: Rare mixture that produces invisible bolts. Expensive, lower Ammunition Capacity.
    • Bespin Surprise: Quick-and-dirty mixture of potent blaster gases - increases Damage Output at the cost of Recoil and the risk of overheating. Cheap and easy, albeit with a greater-than-normal risk of malfunctions.
    • The Suckerpunch: High-Grade Visium is used to produce a disruptor-like bolt; significantly increased Damage Output at the cost of significantly reduced Ammunition Capacity. Firing-rate should be limited to avoid overheating.
    • The Chthonic Embrace: A strange mixture of exotic gases that if done right can shift the effects of local gravity in a manner that more or less resembles repulsorlift. Targets should, under ideal conditions, float away or be pressed to the ground by their own weight.
STRENGTHS
  • Flexible Approach: The Combo Breakers can run on every known type of blaster gas and a selection of miscellaneous substances, the exact makeup of which alters the bolts it generates as described in Special Features. Its varied firing modes make it impressively versatile.
WEAKNESSES
  • Unpredictable: Achieving the "perfect mixture" of blaster gas is difficult - unpredictable results are common and misfires not unheard of.
DESCRIPTION
Originally developed by Starlight Industries - one of the
Corporate Authorities of Denon's most powerful (NPC) companies - for the police-soldiers of that same government, the project that would become the Combo Breakers was a resounding failure. Initially meant to make run-of-the-mill blasters compatible with every kind of blaster gas in order to cut down expenses, the end result was unreliable and expensive, yet interesting all the same.

As befits a profit-focused corporation, the project was abandoned and the data it gathered sold to an unspecified client.

Having caught the interest of Greystone's Chief Artificer, the Kiffar
Zahra Teph, the technology was altered and refined, turned from all-purpose tool to specialised component. An interesting distraction, but not terribly useful to Greystone itself - and so it was resold to another Corpo. A Corpo who just so happened to be looking for a suitable "gift" for a "criminally-inclined associate".

Kal Kal this looks pretty solkid and interesting, love weapons with a variable fire type.

The Chthonic Embrace: A strange mixture of exotic gases that if done right can shift the effects of local gravity in a manner that more or less resembles repulsorlift. Targets should, under ideal conditions, float away or be pressed to the ground by their own weight.

This though is the only thing. A link to it please either wookiee or factory.

There are no articles to link since I made it up for the purposes of this submission. It's meant to be interesting more than powerful, which is why I made a point of specifying that there's a lot that can go wrong, thus giving someone who doesn't want to take a hit plenty to work with.

In my opinion, submitting it separately would do nothing to clarify or balance the effects beyond what is already stated in the submission.

The best I can do is linking the various gravity-manipulating technologies found in Canon, though repulsorlift is of course the most prevalent: Density Projectors, Tractor Beams and Inertial Compensators (both cited in the Gravity article), Gravity Well Projectors, and no doubt quite a few others. Edit: Chaos bonus round, here's a considerably more powerful Chaos gravity gun at Minor. Not that the Factory judges on precedence.
