Seven Corners is a district centered on the town square which lies at the confluence of several major biways through its region of Denon, a district known for its gleaming cloudcutters rising over a quagmire of off-color venues, illicit enterprises, sleazy tenaments, and others trying to just make the best of the situation. The district has a reputation for being a haven for crime and risky ventures, but flourishes in the face of such stain, out of necessity or maybe just pure spite. People of the Seven Corners are usually just trying to make a living, but they won't hesitate to make it off your back if you let them.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Misery-Upon-Dream - This ward earned its tongue-in-cheek name for the rows of slums which once blanketed the landscape for miles. In the early 800s ABY, an ambitious project to gentrify the neighborhood began to replace run-down housing with new, gleaming buildings that touted glamorous interiors and fancy amenities. The project came to an abrupt halt in the 840s ABY during a political struggle over control of the district, and once progress resumed, it continued at a much slower rate. The slums are gone, but the appearance of the upscale neighborhood that replaced it exists only as a thin veneer on top of solidly middle-class housing.

Baker's Row - Once upon a time, bakeries lined the streets of this ward, each baker vying for superiority. Too much competition, however, made some shops turn to more illicit means of staying afloat, and began selling spice on the side. Soon, backroom meetings and other shady deals were commonplace, and Baker's Row earned a reputation for black-market trading. If you need spice, restricted goods, or to contract for an illegal job, you'll find it at Baker's Row.

Lum Rouge - The original trading cluster of the district, Lum Rouge's finest wares became the exotic dancers and prostitutes who brought in the most income, evolving into the equivalent of a red-light district.

Cheeskar's End - If you need a place to relax, blow some credits, and have a good time, Cheeskar's End has a myriad of bars, casinos, theatres, and other entertainment venues to pass the time.

Sakedo Tower - Rising high above the district, and most of the neighboring region, the Sakedo Tower ward actually includes several more skyscrapers around the main tower. The ward is a haven for commercial ventures, and most legitimate trading occurs here. Which is to say, this is the place to go shopping! Sakedo Tower also includes high-rises with luxury residences, and shiny office buildings to house some of the planet's biggest corporate headquarters.

Volgho Hollows - One of the venerable wards of Seven Corners, Volgho Hollows was originally a system of caves for storing materials and supplies, according to local legend. Whether true or not, the ward's purpose hasn't changed much through the centuries, warehouses and small manufacturing plants dot the area, and it is one of the most heavily-trafficked region in the district. Also home to the MirCir Detention Facility, the district's prison.

Suicide Slums - Unabashed poverty runs rampant in this ward, home to the dregs of the dregs and some of the worst off in the district. There are homes a-plenty, but only if you have the credits and weapons to defend the dilapitated structures that pose as housing. Suicide Slums is a hotspot for charitable works and celebrity PR campaigns, but little can be done to effectively counteract the low quality of life and high concentration of petty —and some not-so-petty— crimes in this ward.

SECURITY
Low
- Seven Corners has a reputation for being fairly seedy, though its bark is often worse than its bite. Private security does its best to ensure that business carries on as usual, but its interests are not to ensure personal safety for visitors. Stay armed if you're worried, stay away if you're scared.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Most of the details of the Seven Corners origins were swallowed up by legends, but one story keeps being told and retold. It is said that a young farmer came to the sea, long before the sea was filled in and built over, and tried to make his living from the land. The land was rocky and the soil poor, however, and the farmer struggled for years. The best he could grow were a few varieties of tubers, with hard shells and tough flesh not made well for eating or selling.

The farmer tried many ways to eek out a living with his meager crop. Everything he tried failed. Until, in a last fit of desperation, the farmer distilled his crop into a single batch of liquor, having no intention on spending his last days sober. A merchant friend, who had not heard from the farmer in months, stopped by to check on him. The farmer invited his friend in, and shared the only thing he had left, one of the last bottles of his tuber-distilled liquor. The merchant loved the liquor, to the farmer's surprise, and convinced the farmer to let him take a bottle home with him.

The next day, the merchant returned to the farmer. He had shared the liquor with many of his business friends, and they all agreed it was wonderful. The merchant had raised money for the farmer to grow another crop, so it could be distilled into batches of liquor to be sold, and told the farmer that there was a market for his drink if only he would make it. The next year, when the batch came to market, the farmer earned more than he'd ever made on the farm since beginning.

Soon, the farmer opened a tavern on his lands to peddle the liquor to his customers directly, on a simple intersection just down the road from his farm. An intersection that would someday boast seven corners and a thriving district around it.
