The militants made their thoughts well known after her question on the proposal from Senator Anden, especially Senator Kiyoshi of Corellia. Federal oversight was anathema to Corellians, it always had been. It had been one reason why they had fought a war against a long ago version of this Alliance, and it was an intrinsic part of every Corellian's DNA and social upbringing to distrust and distance themselves from government regulation.

And she didn't get a reassuring answer from the Senator about her proposed Inspector General position. She was wanting to leave whatever powers or responsibilities this position would have to the Senate, without even providing a baseline in the legislation except for granting them an authority to restrict forces to their home systems. A frown appeared as she considered the response and debate. It was shifting away from the proposal, but that wasn't too surprising.

No, when it came time for the vote on the legislation on the table, Arkania would be a no vote. The proposal was just too weak, too vague, and it wouldn't really solve anything. Enumerating the powers of the position beyond the singular one mentioned by Senator Anden would take days or even weeks more of debate in the Senate, especially with powerful forces already arraying themselves against it.

Heated debate engulfed the assembled Senators, and one could be forgiven for forgetting that they were far removed for Coruscant. Even in the wake of an attack in their hallowed hall, the legislators did not skip a beat in advocating for the interests of their worlds, their voters - and for many, Tithe included - their own personal interests.

Senator Athacorr queried what checks and balances would be applied to the proposed inspector’s office. Senator Kiyoshi called attention to the threat posses by the Brotherhood of the Maw, with Senators Taszzn and Vel’alari calling on the GADF to be used to crush their enemies. Senator Anden answered the questions from her peers, clarifying that the inspector would only be empowered to ground planetary defence forces in the event of noncompliance. Senator Du Couteau argued that the events on Byss, far from singling a death throw of the Alliance, had displayed the willingness of worlds to come together and act in the greater interests of the Alliance, even when it was against their own self-interests.

A faint chime emitted from a timing device positioned on the conference table near Tithe. His eyes shifted to the Senate Parliamentarian, his and Adhira’s adviser on the procedure of the Senate, who nodded in response. The time for debate was over.

“I must say, the events of Coruscant have not blunted your tongues,” he noted. “Robust debate, as our constituents demand. The motion, yes, the motion is to establish an independent Inspector General to oversee planetary defence forces. Learned colleagues, please register your votes.”

Cormit System, Chiss Space, the 'Unknown' Regions
Objective: Patrol, Power Projection, Seek & Destroy

Being gripped by fear and suspicion, a need for action, was nothing new to Admiral Tagashon in the slightest. He shared many of the same fears as those rioters that now held Coruscant's Senate by the thermal detonators, in a relative manner of speaking - but unlike them, he found himself well placed to direct those fears and his desire for vengeance justice into action. This sort of proactive thinking was why and how he and his fleet were penetrating the edges of the Unknown Regions now. Officially, this was a simple mixture of patrol and power projection: show the galaxy that the Galactic Alliance was still a strong force, and that the Core World were the fortress they're meant to be under them, that they failed to be under the Republic.

Unofficially, once he'd sold this story to the rest of the Admiralty and was granted that permission to patrol the Cormit-Ornfra stellar region, he'd brought his entire fleet to yellow alert. He fully expected the Outbound Flight exploration teams to come into contact with something violent. Deep down, he fully hoped for an opportunity to burn those that he'd sworn retribution against a year ago.

Fortune, as it seems, is in his favor. The moment he'd slammed back into realspace just at the edge of the Cormit System, unknown IFFs were smattered across the CIC terminals. Reports were gathered by ensigns to collect both the presence of surviving CEDF ships in the system along with the presence of the Phoenix Fleet.

"Order all strike craft to prepare for combat launches. The Dauntless and Bounty are to be escorted by the Harpy and Lotus," comes the initial order from the Chiss, only briefly turning from the viewports ahead to listen to the reports from one of said ensigns. "Helmsman, ahead full. Comms, get a tight beam established with the Argent Dawn."

Orders were spread across with near-matchless efficiency, as expected in a fleet where so many of the command staff are themselves Chiss - veterans from the Expansionary Defense Fleet that had, as an open statement directed to the Brotherhood of the Maw, been organized into the 1st CSG's chain of command. Similarly, a great majority of the pilots, crewmen, and onboard marines throughout the fleet were Chiss of various origins. Humans and other aliens obviously existed in not insignificant numbers, but there was a great reason why this fleet had come to be nicknamed "Csilla's Vengeance."

As the fleet steamed forward at hundreds of klicks a second - relatively slowly, in the vast expanse of space - Tagashon spoke across the connection once it was surely established. He stood before the CIC terminal of his bridge, looking towards the small holoprojector with a grim smile and his hands folded at a crisp at-ease behind his back. "Admiral Morrow, a pleasure. I hope that we have a confirmed identity on those unknown signatures?"

As he says this, he flicks his gaze briefly to the viewport, just as the barely visible engine flare of the Rapier - one of the four Nagata-class heavy corvettes in his fleet - accelerated ahead of the other vessels.

The celebration had only just begun.

Within the Alliance hangars on Coruscant, masses of pilots, technicians, mechanics, crew-members, everyone was partying. The war was over. The Sith had been defeated. And now, they could enjoy some much needed them-time.

Len had spent most of the night trying keep himself from getting drunk, but he could already tell he wouldn’t remember most of what was going to happen. And that was a good thing. Most of his heavy drinking had been given up for his piloting duties. Sure, he had a drink every once in a while, but the cupboard had been locked right. Now? It was busted wide open.

Stumbling over to a group of pilots, he pulled a deck of cards out from his jacket. Lifting them up he shook them around, the cards moving around inside.

“Any of y’all pilots down for a game of Sabaac?”

Not really waiting for an answer, he sat down next to them at the table. He opened up the deck and began to shuffle the cards. Hopefully someone would want to play, because one-man Sabaac tends to not be very fun.

There it was the call for the vote. Faith tried not to slip down or appear to be shrinking. She and the military, and those in the military like Andien Gale Andien Gale could very well make the right decisions regarding their small fleet and Navy.

There could be such a thing as too much control, already the GA had the power to remove whomever they though ill fitted to the GA laws and goals, to then give over the control of their military. What would it do?

It had this very vague sound of imperialism. Where her mind went was to a day when disaster struck the last republic. The strands of an Empire began to form in Faith's mind.

Faith cast her vote.

She could sleep well tonight she looked to Becca as much as she wished the young woman could read minds she couldn't. She smiled instead Faith could wait for a drink until the vote was finished.

The results of the vote came through on Tithe’s datapad. He looked to the Senate Parliamentarian, who nodded in confirmation. “The motion is defeated,” he announced flatly. The directors of the Bank of Aargau Security, Ltd, which was both the private security force of the titular bank and the Aargauun planetary defence force, would be pleased with the result. The dead hand of regulation was never welcomed on the banking world.

“Now, I have a real hankering for a vine-coffee,” he confessed. “Twenty minute recess.” He tapped the ceremonial gavel on the table and rose from his chair.

The Senators filled out into the adjacent hallway where Alliance Ascendant’s stewards were putting the final touches laying out light refreshments on long tables. The Senators sought out food and drink compatible with their unique digestive systems before breaking into small groups. Tithe grabbed a kanali wafer and a cup and cap before moving down the hallway to find some space.

“I never thought I’d long for Coruscant,” he mused as he sidled up to a group of Senatorial colleagues. “My, I’d even take a traffic!”

[One Year Prior]

The A-wing swerved another time to port, engines burning with all the interceptor could offer.

"What's wrong?! Can't catch up with the ocean girl!?" Qellene barked out, of course knowing that the hostile Caedus's pilot wouldn't hear her outburst.

Anger bled through her gritted teeth with every sharp turn, every nearby spray of laser cannon rounds, all while the approaching sensor contact continued to close in on her own marker.

She dove past another of the ANV Ranger's point-defense emplacements, another anxious glance at the sensor graph soon confirming the Caedus's destruction at the hands of the star defender's laser cannons. And for the entirety of the next few seconds, Qellene breathed a long sigh of relief, savoring each moment, quite nearly smiling to herself. But the tranquility, or at least, the relative tranquility was short-lived; and within moments, her eyes caught the not-so-distant silhouettes of bombers, letting loose a torrent of torpedoes despite the nearby interceptors' best efforts to stop them.

Her A-wing quickly spun around its yaw-axis, the targets now lining up in her sights. But by the time the first salvo of cannons had fired...

It was too late.

[Present Day - Alliance-held Coruscant Hanger Bay]

Only hours before, the announcement had begun to spread through the ranks of the Galactic Alliance: The Stygian Campaign had finally come to a close.

From the very moment she witnessed the previous Galactic Alliance falling to the Sith Empire, and for every last moment of her career afterwards, she had dreamed of such a prospect. And the day had finally arrived.

When Qellene ambled through the hanger doors, she quickly found that the large room had already erupted into laughter and passionate shouting, alongside beginning to smell of long-unopened and rare alcoholic beverages. And with an excited grin slowly forming on her face, she watched as toasts were raised, and as hugs were passed about. Just as immediately, she sped through the crowd, the sight of a familiar face catching every ounce of attention from her eye.

"Nyma!" Before anyone knew it, she had pulled herself into the Togrutan's embrace, "It's been way too long."

"Better late than never," The lieutenant had broken from the hug by the time she spoke, now resting a gloved hand on Qellene's shoulder, "Come on, Ed's getting the drinks. We'll all be able to catch up."

. . .
"Okay...This..uh.." She made a show of coming to a stand while she began her inquiry, standing firmly on the barstool's surface, "Errm... This might just be the Port speaking, but... Which one of us is your favorite?" Qellene's near-drunken blue eyes locked with the nearby flight officer's own, startlingly maintaining the contact even as she lowered herself back into her seat.

"You've had enough for a while, Q." Before she could take the bottle of Port in the Storm, Ed had slid it out of reach, "As for the question...I don't think I'll say."

"Bummeerrr," Qellene had to bury her head in the counter's surface just to stifle her laughter.

“Any of y’all pilots down for a game of Sabaac?”

The voice came abruptly, and so too did its owner as the newly-arrived pilot slid into a seat-- a deck of cards already in hand. And before she had given herself the right amount of time to make the decision, Qellene's index finger raised to the sky, while her head remained atop the table's wooden surface.

"Count Me In!"

WAR, WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
SECURE MEETING ROOM -
MORAI
There was nothing like the virtues of power projection.

One by one, Task Force Aurora - the primary Command Group of Battlegroup Andor - exited the blue, milky swirl of hyperspace. A firm nod sent the first of a flurry of orders to the growing Alliance-Chiss fleet in the area, with Myneto's holographic presence being felt of the bridges of the Rear Admiral and twin Commodore's.

"Status Report" He didn't make eye contact however, focusing more on the stream of reports coming in from the rest of the fleet.

"Deploy Hyperspace Beacons and Drones" An ambiguous order for a normal starship, but the Morai was more than that. The ten kilometer dreadnought was jam-packed with more external countermeasures than most ships, and Myneto intended to use them all. No enemy ships would be leaving the system, that he would be sure of.

The fleet reeked of influence by the Butcher of Corellia himself, one Marlon Sularen.

The fleet was composed almost entirely of battlecruisers, powerful ones at that- far too advanced to be utilized by the Brotherhood of the Maw. "Commodore Kathuse, redeploy your best squadron" Finally, he looked directly towards the group of flag officers.

"Have them perform a Nova-Flare on the fleets apparent flagship" It was odd for an Admiral to be intervening in the management of a carriers fighter group, however with Basta'gasho'nuruodo's Carrier Strike Group in system, there was the wiggle room. His intentions remained clouded though, he was operating on a hunch.

The votes tallied and the motion defeated, the anti-regulation people rejoiced while the skeptics continued to be skeptical. Seto for his own part understood the value of simply flowing with the tides, to fight against the waves would be foolish. Especially after the Byss incident, the idea that the Galactic Alliance would have the power to encroach on Planetary Defense Forces was fanstifial. If they wanted to pass such a motion in the senate, well today was a day late and a credit short. Seto wearily mused to himself as he inspected his data-slate.

The terrorist attack in the Senate Chambers were affecting the markets in mostly the way that Seto had assumed. But strangely he wondered how the effect was measured when Csilla was destroyed, perhaps public opinion had already tanked to the floor and with this latest crime the effect wouldn’t be as devastating. But at the same time, one trader’s panic selling is just another buyer's fire sale. Seto had little to worry about his own constituents, many of them were a part of Unions that encouraged and made deals with Companies to include Stocks as their compensation.

After all, the young Du Couteau heir knew the importance of belief, in fact the only reason the Galactic Alliance stood as tall as it did was because of the belief that it can stand tall. Look on my Works, ye Mighty and Despair! Seto suppressed a chuckle as he remembered a poem from his teenage days. Arrogance and Pride were often seen without much distinction, which Seto often believed so as he assumed the difference only mattered in semantics. When he looked at the Senators before him, Seto wondered which of them would trigger the end and doom of the Alliance due to their arrogance and price.

Nothing besides remains.

“Please Vice-Chancellor,” Seto began, his voice light and friendly, “-How many of us would rather Holo in for anything to do with the Senate? We only attend physically because otherwise it would be considered public fopa. Perception is everything after all.” Seto commented.

It had only been seconds into his shuffling when he heard a voice pipe in.

“Count me in!”

A wide smile spread across the pilot’s face. He couldn’t remember the last time he got to enjoy a Sabaac game. Most of them, well, ALL of them got cut short due to deployment.

“Well alright then, hop on in!”

Soon some more of the pilots began to sit down and join in. Looking around he noticed all of the unique squadrons that were all here. Many of them he thought had gone inactive during the war. But it seemed like a everyone did actually get called to service. Glad to see some of them made it out.

Once the cards were fully shuffled, he started to deal them out to the players. Hopefully no one would start betting any big credits, since that ended badly most of the time. But small credits here and there did no harm.

“If y’all want to, we can put some credits on the line.”

Taking three credit chips out of his pocket, he laid them out in the center of the table. One other pilot followed, and then the next. Looks like the stakes were going up.

Let the games begin.

[One Year Prior - ANV Wyvern - Captain's Office]

"Your record's more expansive than I expected for someone with your career duration." Commander Elinan made no effort to hide the appraising elements of his expression; in fact supplementing them with the occasional glance at the charcoal black datapad in his hand, supposedly the accumulation of Qellene's six years of service, "Formerly Dauntless 3, ANV Ranger?"

He uttered the words with little difficulty, even though the commander knew full well of the Ranger's fate.

"That's correct, sir," The Pamarthen spent her remaining strength hiding the fury in her voice.

"Commendations for bravery during the battle of the Lujo-Eclipse hyperlane?"

"That's what the record says. Isn't it?" A hostile twinkle began to fester in the corners of her eyes, refusing to back down despite Qellene's mental pleas.

"Indeed... But, the record fails to mention why you still were reduced to escorting frigates."

[Present Day]

“If y’all want to, we can put some credits on the line.”

Qellene's grin expanded in response to the proposition's mention, even further as the others began to place in their own measly opening bets.

There would soon be far more credits on the line, however.

One hand slid two cards into her grasp, another meanwhile fishing through a pocket for her stowed credit chips. And soon, the flight officer produced three credits from the safety of a gloved hand. But almost as soon as she reached out, Qellene paused in her tracks.

The last time she played Sabacc, the Ranger had still been intact...

The credits clattered to the table, quickly colliding with the chips already gathered in the pile; while after a brief moment of hesitation, Qellene withdrew her hand back to her side. Thankfully, the table's overhang hid her fists clenching, at least until she managed to quell the rampant mix of emotion.

"Well..." The Pamarthen rushed to restore her smile, now with a distracting air of mock-smugness, "May the best woman win..."

Wolfpack Aurek - Group One
Wolfpack Aurek - Group Two
Wolfpack Aurek - Group Three

Group One of Wolfpack Aurek continued it's approach towards Cormit as it prepared to engage the Chiss Task Force blocking their way. With the Leviathan and Marauder almost in range of the Chiss Warships , Vice-Admiral Hamilton contacted Colonel Rackham via Comlink in order to make preparations to execute the second phase of the Planned Raid on Cormit."Colonel Rackham , what's your status" the Vice-Admiral said , eager to begin the Raid on Cormit. "Our men are ready for deployment and we await your Command Vice-Admiral." the Colonel said in response. Then the Vice-Admiral turned to the Captain of the Leviathan and asked him a similar question. "Are we in range of the enemy fleet?" the Captain shook his head and responded. "Not entirely but our Long-Range Turbolasers are ready to open fire.". the Vice-Admiral paused for a second ,and was about to say something when he was interrupted with beeping from one ofthe consoles of his bridge officers.

"What's going on?" Hamilton asked his attention now shifted towards the sudden beeping of his subordinates consoles. Soon enough one of the bridge officers started to speak. "Vice-Admrial , we are detected numerous new arrivals all from the Galactic Alliance. It's Pheonix Fleet". The Galactic Alliance? Vice-Admiral Hamilton said , their response was very fast given that they hadn't even engaged the Chiss Vessels yet as the Leviathan and the Marauder's main batteries were still outside of range. "Sir , we are getting a transmission from Pheonix Fleet."

"Hostile vessels, this is Commodore Morrow of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force. This system is under our protection. You have two minutes to change vectors to outbound from this system or we will open fire on you.

"Orders sir?"

"Ignore them , contact Group Two and inform them to jump into hyperspace and immediately engage Pheonix Fleet. Meanwhile stay on course and prepare to engage the Chiss Vessels." Vice-Admiral Hamilton ordered to his men in response. As his bridge officers raced to contact Group Two of Wolfpack Aurek , tey suddenly found themselves unable to reach the rest of Wolfpack Aurek. They tried numerous times over and over again to reach Group Two and Group Three but to no avail. They were being jammed. The Bridge Officers too quick note of this new development and informed the Vice-Admiral of the situation. "Sir , we can't reach Group Two , we are being jammed." Now Hamilton was in real trouble. The Vice-Admiral only had two vessels at his disposal which were only enough to fight the Chiss Fleet above Cormit. With the arrival of Pheonix Fleet , the Vice-Admiral was now outnumbered and outgunned , although retreat at this point was not an option. They could not return to Sularen empty handed and needed to complete the mission.

But the arrival of Pheonix Fleet was just the beginning. Before the Vice-Admiral could give any more orders , two more Fleets appeared , two Fleets in which Wolfpack Alpha had never faced before one spearheaded by a massive 4 Kilometre long Alliance-Class Fleet Carrier , the other led by the 10 Kilometre long Morai-Class Star Defender. Now Group One was truely outnumbered and they were now surrounded by Three powerful Alliance Task Forces , a bit overkill given the current size of his Fleet. The
Leviathan and Marauder were still headed towards the two Chiss Vessels on the verge of entering in range of the two Ships. There was no turning back now , Vice-Admiral would secure that Chiss Base on Cormit or die trying as he had no intent in surrendering to the same nation who had occupied his homeworld.

"Are we in range of the Chiss Vessels?" Vice-Admiral Hamilton asked once more. The Captain simply nodded before replying. "Yes we are now in range of the Chiss Vessels , but sir with all due respect , we are outnumbered and outgunned , should we retreat and regroup with our larger forces before returning with more numbers and firepower?" the Captain asked , doubting his superior. "If we leave now , we abandon our only chance at securing that Chiss Technology , Technology that could benefit the Final Dawn in our upcoming crusade and i do not intend to return to the Grand Overseer empty handed. Open fire on the Chiss Vessel , concentrate all firepower on the smaller ship , the moment that ship get's obliterated we'll deploy our Strike Team in order to secure the Base while holding off the rest of the Fleet. In addition to that , i want all our Stafighter Squadrons to be deployed and to establish a defensive screen around our Ships , the enemy will soon swarm us with Fighters and it is imperative that we hold on against the enemy as long as possible until we can secure that Chiss Tech for the Final Dawn , or die trying." the Vice-Admiral said in response.

Thus , the
Leviathan and the Marauder proceeded to open fire on the Chiss Heavy Cruiser firing volleys of Turbolaser Fire and Missiles at the Chiss Vessel as they advanced starting the Mawite Raid on Cormit. As the two vessels continuously pounded the Chiss Warship in an attempt to quickly cripple or destroy the vessel , the Starfighters of the Leviathan and the Marauder quickly emerged from the ventral hangars of both ships quickly establishing a defensive screen to protect both Battlecarriers against potential counter-attacks from the enemy as it was expected that the Alliance would mostly launch it's Starfighters to weaken the Defenses of both the Leviathan and the Marauder and finish them off with their Capital Ships. This Raid was far from over , but it would test the ability of Vice-Admiral Hamilton and push Wolfpack Aurek or atleast parts of it to their limits and hopefully they would show the Alliance that even when outnumbered they were still a force beyond reckoning.

  • The Leviathan and the Marauder open fire on the Peltas-Class Heavy Cruiser with everything at their disposal in the hopes of quickly destroying or crippling the vessel
  • All Starfighters from the Leviathan and the Marauder minus the Crimson Linings are deployed and quickly establish a defensive screen around both Warships.

"Don't stray to far......" Kahne called out to the twins as they ran off after having a discussion with their father. There was plenty to be thankful for today, and of course plenty to be worried about. But not them, they would enjoy the festivites going on in the Jedi Temple. They were growing so fast that he couldn't put a leash on them anymore. They had their friends and such. Given the times of today and their training they were venturing out into their own destiny. The Jedi Master was completely proud of them. They still have so much more to accomplish.

For now the war was over, but they would indeed start again. Unfortunately.....

The Jedi chuckled as he walked through the crowds and maneuvered himself around other Jedi and Temple defense members. Some were speaking of Sabaac tournament for nice sum of money while others were speaking of the parade which was on the Jedi's agenda this day. The forty year old Jedi had his hands behind his back as he moved towards the entrance to the Jedi Temple. The sight of this place never ceased to amaze him. Someone has been placed in Kahne's charge a woman whom had awoken from a very long slumber. The circumstances behind it were indeed remarkable. The Jedi did not want to press to much into the situation though. He was assigned to help her and introduce her more thoroughly into the galaxy as it was now. The force was indeed strong with her, that much was clear. For now, he opted to show her a fun time. Put her worries at ease and to let her know that things were going to be okay.

Hope was ever strong on this day.

The galaxy was different. Katarine had come from a time when the Jedi Order collapsed and the Rebellion was fighting to get it back. Now there were multiple Jedi Orders, and some were even aligned with Imperials! It was enough to make her head spin. Was she even really a Jedi anymore? What did being a Jedi in this time mean? Her lightsaber still worked even though it had been frozen for hundreds of years so did that mean she was a Jedi? The thought made her laugh.

The lift opened just in time for her to see the man she was looking for yelling after his children. So Jedi were allowed to have children now? She had so much to learn.

"Master Porte? I'm Katarine, the really really old padawan assigned to you." She smiled, though she was only half joking. She was over 800 years old after all.

Kahne Porte Kahne Porte

The Jedi Master turned and nodded his head and smile. "Katarine, it's a pleasure to meet you. You don't look so old." The Jedi chuckled as he held his hand out towards her. "Please, you can call me Kahne." The Jedi Master felt it would be better on a name basis than the traditional Master façade. "Your story has garnered much interest, I'm not going to lie about that." The Jedi smiled as he had learned as much about her as he possibly could. But there was much more to her than meets the eye. He was sure she had stories, and more importantly than that she was in an entirely new arena.

A new world to be put bluntly.

But for now a chance to relax and have some fun.

"Have you ever been to a parade before?" Kahne inquired as he led them down the temple steps. Looking to begin their journey towards the parade route. It was expected to be massive, even just being on one area would be enough to see the whole thing.

“Once when I was very young.” She thought back to her and Daxium sneaking off to see the festival parade when they were kids. The thought made her feel strangely happy but also hollow and empty. So much time had passed since then. Everyone she ever knew was gone and everything was different. Speaking of different, she remembered a question that had been troubling her.

“Why are there multiple Jedi Orders? Did something happen to fracture the Jedi?”

"Welcome to the front, sir," the Chiss greeted once communications between the various flag officers of Alliance forces had surely been established across the system, after taking the brief moment to wipe away the smug smirk from his face. Overkill indeed - but payback was payback, even if it came crumb by crumb. Following that first order granted by the Butcher, the Chiss turned away from the holographic display of these flag officers to communicate his own orders amidst his carrier group. They flowed out one after the other - a pair of Iblis frigates here, moving to sit loosely behind the Bulwark while diamond boron missiles are fabricated. The four Nagatas there, moving forth ahead of the fleet as a screening force in junction with three of the Ultimatum's V-Wing Squadrons.

"The Strike Squadron reports missiles manufacturing and ready in approximately five minutes, Rear Admiral," comes the first report from a Cathar officer, whom he acknowledges with a nod before immediately turning his attention to a human commodore. "All corvettes of the Patrol Squadron have linked with the interceptors, sir. We're on stand-by."

"Very good, Commodores. Further orders will come shortly," comes his reply in the typically clipped, aristocratic tone one might expect of a Chiss naval officer. A wave of his hand through the holograms switches channels, with the face of his one superior in this area of space coming before him. His back straightens just a hint more in accordance to those respects. "What would you have the First do, Admiral Myneto?"

Even as he asks this, a nervous look is sent to the tactical board beside him - the Ascendancy ships are incredibly vulnerable, and they've already come under fire, clearly. His escorts could so easily race ahead under fighter cover to reinforce his brethren, and his heart urges him to do so - but would such a move be approved by Zahara?

Senator Du Couteau, the newly appointed Chair of the Committee on Finance and Commerce, proved to be as sharp tongued as ever. The Member for Empress Teta commented that he - and undoubtedly many of his peers - would prefer to be back on their worlds conducting the business of the Senate over the Holonet rather than cooped up on Alliance Ascendant for the Senate session.

Aargau was many things to Tithe. It had been his childhood, studied economics and business since his first year of schooling. It had been his first entry into the corporate world when he’d landed a job at the planet-spanning Bank of Aargau Ltd. While venturers and opportunities had taken him across the galaxy in the pursuit of credits, he’d never strayed far from the vaults and boardrooms of Aargau, even if his visits were brief.

And yet, what was Aargau but a ball of rock flying through the darkness of space? Were he born on Coruscant or Muunilinst, would he not feel the same about those worlds? If Aargau was not a commerce hub and leading banking world, would he have even returned after he’d left for the first time?

A curious notion.

“Perception, yes,” he replied to Seto. He cast his mind to the New Jedi Order, who were about to experience the full force of the Senate inquest initiated by Senate DARKCOM DARKCOM . “I suspect that perceptions of many great institutions will soon be taking centre stage. A fickle thing, the trust of the public.”

He let out a small smirk at the women's remark.

From the looks of it, she knew her way around the game of Sabaac. He was hoping to make a few easy credits, but now he would get an interesting game out of it as well. Grabbing his bottle of beer, the pilot took of small drink before sliding a couple more credits outward.

"Screw it, I'll raise."

Obviously a couple drinks past his best judgment, the pilot knew that he wasn't going to win this set. But hopefulily the other players bought his stupidity enough for him to win this hand. To his left, another pilot slowed pushed two credits towards the center of the table. It was working like a charm.

"So, which squadron are y'all from? I used to fly over in Phantom."

Now usually you don't talk during these types f games, but the pilot couldn't resist making some small take. Besides, it wasn't going to hurt anyone.

(Sorry for the very late reply!)

HEIMDALLY

Spouts of confetti swirled from random locations through the sky, falling down on the citizens like snow below. From the place within the council chambers, they could see the silhouettes amidst the lights. Indiscriminate humanity, celebrating the toppling of an Empire. Feasting on freedom.

The mirth that spread through the streets brought a refreshing counter to the eternal anguish that was promised at the end of one of the golden tethers that The Warden watched over.

But as refreshing as it was, it was not all-consuming. As much as he wished and hoped that this joy could be eternal, it was nothing but a reminder of what they had to continue to protect.

He stirred little when another presence –– one with an ethereal connection that he hadn't felt in a long while –– made an appearance.

"Tell me Bernard," he began before turning slowly to look over his shoulder.
"Did you ever look into Ulic Qel-Droma?"
