The three prongs of the trident signify the fleet's three combat flotillas, with the staff signifying its support vessels.
  • Motto: Virtus in tenebris - "Valor in Darkness"
  • Description: Owing to its frontier-roving mission profile, the 18th Fleet has been optimized for long patrol sorties away from friendly ports; in addition to its marine assault carriers and mainline warships, the 18th maintains a sizable contingent of dedicated resupply vessels and various other support craft. Its offensive-minded flotillas, aside from being capable of withstanding extended deployment, are organized to work independently of the 18th if need be. At times, these formations may be subdivided further, with individual lines drawn from the flotillas and organized into temporary mission-specific Task Forces.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Roving Fleet; No fixed headquarters.
  • Ports of Call: For the entirety of its history, the 18th has been extremely versatile with its patrol routes, often jumping back and forth throughout the boundaries of Alliance space. With the threat of the Brotherhood of the Maw looming over the head of the G.A, however, the fleet has been largely confined to those sectors directly adjacent to Mawite space and more specifically in the Csillan theater.
  • Goals: Aside from quickly responding to incursions into Alliance space, the 18th Expeditionary Fleet is often called upon to exit the confines of friendly borders, leading sorties into Mawite territories, be it for the purposes of intelligence collection, or in attempt to decimate hostile facilities.
  • Reputation: Alongside the many task forces the Galactic Alliance has mobilized against the Brotherhood of the Maw, the 18th has garnered renown and praise from all patches of civilian and military onlookers, grouped together with its contemporaries as the "Fiery Wrath of the Core."

    • Support Ship Classes: HAAT Dropships (x), Nu II-class Attack Shuttles (x)
    • The troop-carrying arm of the 18th Fleet, "Galleon Flotilla" is the admiral's most beloved tool when it comes to getting boots on the ground. The troop squadrons of the formation are able to facilitate the deployment of tens of thousands of embarked marines and armored vehicles, rapidly overwhelming the forces of most land-based installations and orbital platforms.

    • Flagship: ANV Victory - Concord-class Star Defender (x)
    • Star Destroyer Classes: Concord-class Star Defenders (x), Liberator-class Star Defenders (x), MC250b "Eurydice"-class Cruisers (x)

    • Support Ship Classes: Y-wing Heavy Starbombers (x)
    • In contrast to the troop-delivery focus of "Galleon Flotilla," the 231st Strike Flotilla is organized entirely around the notion of space superiority and combat. The rudimentary principles of fleet combat are distributed amongst each of the strike flotilla's individual lines; from the starfighter tactics championed by the 160th Carrier Line, to the combinations of missile and turbolaser bombardment of the 234th and 205th attack lines.
  • 224th "Voyager" Scout Flotilla:
    • Flagship: ANV Voyager - Invector-class Monitor Frigate (x)

    • Support Ship Classes: Quandary-class Surveillance Ships (x)
    • The spearhead formation of the 18th Fleet, the 224th is its eyes and ears, scatted clusters of light cruisers coordinating strings of scanning data from embarked starfighter sorties and Quandary surveillance vessels. The invaluable intelligence they collect on these patrols decides the course of the 18th as a whole, and when relayed to friendly ports can help decide the course of navy-wide action throughout the Alliance Defense Force.
  • 104th Support Line:
    • Flagship: ANV Hope - MC250b "Eurydice"-class Cruiser (x)
    • Cruiser Classes: MC250b "Eurydice"-class Cruisers (x), Samaritan-class Medical Cruisers (x)

    • Represented in the 18th's insignia as the staff securing the offensive prongs of the fleet, the 104th Support Line is assigned the unceasingly task of supplying the fleet's three flotillas. With a wide array of freighters, fleet tenders, and medical ships, the 104th can facilitate nearly any need necessitated by the fleet's long patrols away from home port.

  • Admiral Guliver T. Hanson - Commanding Officer
    • Species: Human [Coruscanti]
    • Age: Early Fifties
    • Flagship: ANV Wildcat - Starhawk III-class Battleship (x)
    • Serving in the 18th first as an executive officer aboard the ANV Galleon and now as the fleet's senior-most officer, Admiral Hanson's life has become entwined with the formation's, his own accomplishments secured in the history of its long existence.
  • II/0281 "Bright" - ANV Wildcat Shipboard Intelligence Interface
    • Species: Servitor-Pattern Artificial Intelligence System (x)
    • Age: Unknown
    • More than a string of code in in the flagship's command and control software, "Bright," as the program is known, has been assigned the delicate task of coordinating the individual subsystems of the ANV Wildcat, and to a limited extent the actions of the 18th as a whole. Its powerful computational and learning algorithms allow "Bright" to quickly absorb information that is introduced to the shipboard computers of the 18th's flagship, and have the happy side effect of allowing the AI to simulate some feeling of fondness toward the organic crewmembers of the fleet for the purposes of maintaining morale.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Forged first under the threat of the Sith Empire and christened within the flames that drowned the Core Worlds, the Galactic Alliance's 18th Expeditionary Fleet has braved the storms of time and warfare for countless years. For the duration of the Stygian Campaign, they fought on the fringes of friendly space, darting across the frontier to fend off incursion after incursion. And despite every effort to quell the tenacity of the 18th, the fleet would inevitably outlive the Sith Empire it had been created to fight. In the tentative period of relative peace that followed the Empire's untimely fall, the fleet was assigned a quiet tour along the frontier, for the first time in its history allowed to rest from fighting.

But history had an unfortunate habit of repeating itself. The chimes of war would ring once again over the fiery husk of Csilla as it burned under the fury of the Brotherhood of the Maw, and again when the invaders from beyond the frontier struck at the heart of the Alliance. In a renewed state of panic, the 18th Expeditionary Fleet was called upon once more as the vanguard of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force, sent to scour the border that separated the two warring nations in order to fulfil the same purpose it had during the years of the Stygian Campaign. The fleet would once more be the G.A's fiery shield, repelling the Maw's repeated efforts to bring the Alliance to its knees. And when it saw fit, the 18th would reach beyond the safety of friendly space and draw retaliatory scars in the flesh of the Brotherhood territories.

Their guns would fire, unceasingly, till the moment peace could be finally achieved.

Gib me dat swift death pls daddy gulliver

I'm so, so sorry for that. As usual, this is a beautiful, highly-detailed sub. I have nothing to nitpick, so I'm reduced to bad jokes.

Anyway, wonder how the GA Wildcat fleet will react to DECEASED Erskine Barran DECEASED Erskine Barran 's Wildcat Battalion. Or Dracken Pryce Dracken Pryce 's Wildcat Squadron. Or the Wildcat blaster pistol. Eh, you'll work it out. Approved!

P.S. "fiery wrath of the core" is what I experience after like 3 sit-ups
