Gerwald hated council meetings, well, he hated meetings in general. They were a necessary evil which came with needing to remain coordinated. Why did Gerwald hate them, two reasons. Most meetings usually meant a lot of talk and little action. The wolf could not remember the last time a council meeting had led to any action other than the same fruitless debates which seemed to plague the majority of Viceroyalty sessions. Then there was the fact his predecessor called way too many of them. It seemed Kyyrk Kyyrk excelled at calling meetings, at least that was the perspective Gerwald had carried.

Now he was the one calling them. The lupine wondered who was going to complain that the Lord Commander called too many of these. Granted, Gerwald was certain this was the first meeting he was calling which fell outside the regularly scheduled meetings they had all agreed upon.

There was a good reason for it.

Gerwald rushed to the council chambers of the new Obsidian Headquarters. He anticipated this meeting was going to be more than the simple delivery of information, and he was confident that the Vicelord, Exarch’s, and Ministers of the Confederacy, had already seen his report. A new threat, or the potential for it, had seemed to appear overnight. He had seen similar structures before. Gerwald knew what they were, or at least he was certain that he knew. If they were what he feared, then swift action needed to be taken. The Confederacy could not afford anything less than a swift response.

Invitations had been sent to Darth Metus Darth Metus , Srina Talon Srina Talon , and John Locke John Locke , to attend the meeting. Gerwald wanted their input to the plan he had formed. It was also imperative that Kiff Brayde Kiff Brayde , Hester Shedo Hester Shedo , and Shalita Verd Shalita Verd , be in attendance as well. Naturally if their schedules did not permit them to attend the meeting would still need to take place, but Gerwald had ensured to stress the urgency of the matter.

He took his seat. A scowl born of worry was worn on his face as the wolf’s eyes locked onto the surface of the table. As those attending arrived they would see the anxious state of the Lord Commander. It was not often he appeared as anything but confident when addressing the Council, but today was different. There was a certain aspect of the unknown which clung to his thoughts. Gerwald may have had a plan, steps to take, but he was unsure of the way forward. No part of his training prepared him for what they could potentially be facing, and it was that which made Gerwald worry.

“I want to thank you all for joining me,” he finally said, pulling his head up to address those who sat around the table. “Have you all seen the reports?”

The question was rhetorical.

“There is certainly something at play here, something which I believe falls into the jurisdiction of the Knights Obsidian. We are still stretched thin since the incident involving what we have come to know as The Eye, but this needs to be investigated and dealt with. I would prefer this not be up for debate, but I would like to solicit input and ensure that we are all on the same page before moving forward.”

Perhaps this would be a short meeting, maybe it was about to be the debate Gerwald did not want. Either way, this was the start of something.

“Any questions so far?”

The young Padawan had heard call for arms. While she was still pretty young, she was adamant to take part in the ongoing situation, even if she wasn't completely unaware of what the ongoing situation was because she had not read any reports. The Padawan never saw reports, even if she tried to sneak a peak at the reports and work that passes Asaraa Vaashe Asaraa Vaashe 's desk, however her Master tended to be faster or one step ahead of the young, nosey Padawan. She did spy that the gathering was happening and that this meeting was going to be open to everyone. So why not pop in and see what was being discussed and if she could help out in any way. She was so hopeful that things would be made clearer and her presence would be noted so that her standing in the Knights Obsidian would improve, Dreidi was feeling desperate to ensure that she was around and improving her abilities to be more useful in the faction.

Arriving at the meeting, she seemed to be on time which was a relief since she feared that she might have arrived late since she had to make her own way there and public transports were not the easiest. Her usual attire of a oversized plaid shirt, some sort of well worn band t-shirt, jeans and sneakers was adorned on the young girl as she looked around and saw the Lord Commander in some pretty intense armour. Looking down at herself, then back at the guy, then at herself again, she sighed deeply. Perhaps she came to the meeting too casual which was never a good side, better to be too formal than too informal but she didn't really have her own armour yet so she couldn't really wear it.

Standing in the crowd, she patiently listened to the meeting, but it was a sort speech. Something about reports that should have been read and something out there being definitely in the wheelhouse of the Knights Obsidian. Whatever it was, likely Force related but Dreidi had no idea. So when he asked if there were any questions, the girl looked around and then tried to raise her hand. However, she was clearly the shortest one around so Dreidi jumped up a little to raise her hand and show that she had a question.

"What reports were these? Also, what's the situation? What are we meant to be facing? What's the plan?" Dreidi listed off a ton of questions, revealing her eagerness in understanding the situation and helping out

OBJECTIVE

“Sometimes I read. Sometimes I read of fantastical possibilities, playing out in distant places, and stretching stories over time and space. Sometimes I read of small families, struggling to survive in the harshest frozen tundra. Sometimes I read about communities, banding together to fight interlopers, bent on destroying their livelihoods and their way of living. Sometimes I read about great empires, building vast legacies on the foundation of bloodlust and conquest. Sometimes I read about people a great spirituality, exploring themselves through a deeper understanding of the outside world.

Sometimes I read about great ocean-going vessels that cut and ride through stormy waves, towering columns of water crashing over them. Sometimes I read of the lonely traveller, huddled in their fur-lined coat, and wishing desperately for more fuel for their dying fire.”

She was interrupted by a metallic tone, bringing her out of her data pad. She was reading Dietrich Chantal, the Kothlisian author of fame. She tried to calm her mind from the daily toils by reading classic works of literature; she rarely made any great progress.

The tone signaled that she was arrived at the Knights Obsidian Headquarters, answering the summons of the Lord Commander. She knew the other members of the Presidium would be in attendance and therefore had had her schedule cleared. Her work with the Lord Commander was important; it was they who kept the spiritual and administrative nature of governance in balance. It was the who prosecuted evil and righted wrongs across the Confederacy.

She gazed up at the building, striding forward, her simple white gown collecting about her feet. She was practically dressed, a workday today. Her attendants gathered around her, making she her entrance was unimpeded. The usual security check availed her entrance and she made for the entrance to the meeting place, entering swiftly prior to the commencement. Sycophants nodded and tried to catch her attention; she ignored all but the Lord Commander and the other Ministers in attendance; there were few in the CIS that warranted such. She was head of an entire Department of State, for Hoth’s sake.

She sat, catching the Lord Commander in her gaze. She smiled and listened in, waiting for the calm to descend. She listened intently. The reports had been…interesting.

A small voice called out-Hester looked. It was a Knight asking questions.

She smirked to herself.

How quaint.

O B L I V I O N
There had been a time for subtlety. This was not it. The moment that Voph had learned of the appearance of the strange structures, he had traveled to the great headquarters of the Knights Obsidian with all possible haste. No one said it, but among the obsidian halls, a sense of dread hung in the air. Some of the Squires did not know what was going on, or why the matter was being taken so seriously. But then, they had not been there when The Eye had activated. As Voph stood hunched over a terminal, memories began to return. Asation. Ilum. The Gree. Something about this structure awoke something within him. And it left him far more unsettled than ever. He is coming.

The voice in his head was his own, and yet it was not. Voph could not explain it, but right now, he had more pressing matters. He'd not slept since the appearance. Even now, his hair was a mess, and the bags under his eyes were quite prominent. He ran on little more than rage and caf. But such was his dedication. Srina Talon Srina Talon had given him a second chance within the Confederacy. He would not waste it. He couldn't afford to. For if this was what he thought it was...this opportunity was invaluable to him. The night was uneventful, spent in pensive watch as the Knights observed the structures, theorizing what they were, and what threat await them. Voph was not to spend the night alone, however. At the breaking of the dawn, a visitor arrived, requesting Iskellion by name.

Voph strode into the lobby of the fortress to be greeted by the sight of a protocol droid flanked by two hover-crates.
<<I come bearing gifts, courtesy of the Vylmiran Remnant. Master Vuul gave express orders that I was to deliver them to you directly. He says they are the last of their kind. A fitting gift for the Champion of the Fallen Planet. May they serve you well in the days to come. You may need them.>> Voph said nothing, simply opening one of the crates to inspect the contents, revealing blue plates of armor, bearing an unmistakable design. His. He picked up the helmet, another memory flooding his mind. A secret lab on Vylmira. An alien force was invading the galaxy. And he was the only one who could stop it. Voph turned to look at the droid and nodded once, confirmation that he had accepted the gift. All he needed now was a quiet room in which to ready himself. He would have preferred to wait. But the Confederacy needed him. It was time to return.

Voph strode into the council chamber when Gerwald called for the assembly clad in the same blue armor. At his side, a pistol. On his back, a Rifle. His helmet hung from his belt at the small of his back. His hair was tied back in its usual place. Voph was ready for war. He strode in with a confidence that few could rival, and took a seat at the table unbidden. Even if his experience as the Lord Commander would not be honored, he was still the apprentice of Srina Talon. And thus, her eyes and ears wherever she may not be. "At 0200 Confederate Standard Time, two large structures appeared near Kamino and Mechis III. While they appear to be inert for now, We suspect they will not remain so for long. Our technicians are confirming our suspicions, at which point we will be able to make a more informed decision." Voph spoke unbidden, but he had been reviewing the reports, and writing them, all night. He was possibly the most qualified to answer such a question in this room.

His attention turned back to Gerwald as he continued. "I too share your suspicions of the structures' purpose, but until we receive confirmation, we cannot be sure. I do however, propose that we establish perimeters around both structures. Kamino and Mechis are both military strongholds in their own right, but I am sure that Minister Shedo would agree, the Abrion will not allow one of their worlds to stand alone." If he was right, and he feared that he was, he would volunteer his services for the second part of his plan. But only in the event that he should be needed. If this cup may be taken from him, then let it be so...

Heavy sound of boots hitting the clean almost mirror perfect floor echoed as the tall and armored Atrisan approached the table. Seemed she was a little late but still within time to hear the main details about this new situation.

Though Kurenai wasn't certain if her presence here would have been much help. Her place within the Knights revolved more around direct confrontation with potential threats and risks to the CIS. Even so she held a high ranking position within the organisation and keeping up to date with issues and investigations was always fruitful. Besides it seemed like would appear as if attendance was open if the blonde women whom she didn't recognize was entering freely.

Herself taking a seat near Kyyrk Kyyrk as she began to read out the report in question, the appearance of said structures on the stormy sea world being quite the strange situation. "Seeing as how long the Kamino world has been inundated by waters and the, 'genetic' purification they have delt with to evolve into what they are today I doubt any knowledge about said structures would be within their archives". She interjected, more with knowledge he and accumulated over the years then any direct research.

Boots softly crossed the floor without making a sound and although it made sense that even the material of her coat would gently flutter with each movement, not even that article of clothing made the barest of sounds. She was as quiet as the shadows the woman lived within. Pale as snow with eyes that reflected an arctic ocean. Her face could be mistaken as that of a statue’s face; carved without a hint of emotion. It was how the woman always was, how she always acted and saw to each task without a blink. Her very mannerisms could sometimes chill even the most stoic of people, for she didn’t fear death, nor did she fear loss. At least, she never did till she had met her beloved. It was the only chink within her airtight armour and while she would never have strayed away from Fevris’s side, the assassin knew that the blonde was safe in Dosuun. So, she had decided to accept the invitation that the Lord Commander had given, an acceptance that would hopefully help her Minister standing within the Confederacy.

With slow deliberate steps, she entered the council chambers of the Knight’s Obsidian Headquarters and proceeded to take a seat at the table; noting as she did so, the others which had already gathered. She could see the worry etched into the creases of the Lord Commander’s face, which was only further complimented by the man’s posture and it set the tone of the meeting in a way that saw a weight of foreboding settle within the shadowy corners of the room. The Minister of Secrets could sense the different personalities as her gaze drifted from Gerwald and lightly touched upon the visage of each individual present within the room. Her eyes watched them as they spoke and slowly, the short haired woman leaned back into her chair while her hands fell to rest in her lap

The woman closed her eyes and remembered her time within the arms of a beautiful woman, but she also remembered the times that had pulled her away from that woman whenever the Solanaceae needed her help; or more specifically whenever the Nightmother Vytal needed her help. Indeed, she was a witch, albeit a witch that most within the CIS didn’t know about because she didn’t broadcast it and even she had felt the disturbances. Upon further reflection, even her meditations had given her knowledge that she couldn’t determine. It was strange and unusual, but Shalita had not felt threatened by it. Yet as the meeting unfolded before her, she knew that it was the fear of the unknown that had seen to an invitation being given. However, as the words were spoken it became more obvious just as to how much fear was present within the room.

A slow sigh, parted her lips and she lifted her hands, only to place them upon the table in front of her. With this motion, the darkly clad woman leaned forwards within her chair. ”And that is the solution is it?” The woman questioned as her eyes opened to slowly focus upon the figures present one at a time. ”To gear up for war? Show a force of strength? That won’t be aggravating at all, will it?” She queried them as she tilted her head slightly to the right and black hair with white ends softly caressed her leather clad shoulder. People feared the shadows and often did not understand the power that came when one embraced them. Shalita had spent many years becoming the embodiment of the shadows. The woman had spent many years studying and improving her craft to such a fine edge that she knew every in and out imaginable.

”Perhaps instead of thinking with a militant frame of mind, that maybe we should be thinking of a way to harness these unusual events. Seek to understand rather than destroy.” The Minister said as she moved to lean back within her seat. This was the reason why the assassin always hated politics. They only cared about taking measured risks, when sometimes one had to take risks that had no safety net at all.

Felix stalked a hallway in the new Knights Obsidian headquarters, his armoured heels echoing between the lengthy hallway leading to a meeting room. He'd had an interesting few days, war, death, reunion and revelation... having spent some time near the mysterious metallic object, as he would enter the council room doors with subtle flair, he young noble would have come from the front. Felix's Knights Obsidian armour dirtied and his brow sweaty and sullied from the toils of work in the hermetically sealed suit after he had been working together with the people's of Kamino to investigate the Site. House Aquila and the Quartermasters' Guild stood at the razors edge when it came to quantum particle and energy science, and even they had been marveling over the object along with the plethora of other engineers and experts who had come from every corner of the Galaxy to inspect the structure, all approved and hand selected by agents of the CIS with the rigor of a military regime on highest alert.

Removing his helmet feeling the rush of mechanically freshened air across his sweat speckled face as Voph would finish speaking, he wouldn't seek to interrupt. Felix understood he wasn't a member of the council here, simply an envoy for the technicians who were working on analyzing the obelisk and the infinite mysteries surrounding its existence. It seemed that it would be Shalita that would be the first voice of reason to reach his ears among the people gethered here so far, Felix couldn't help but feel himself move to side with their mode of thinking... but, in truth he felt as though no action should be removed from the table this early in discovery... so long as they didn't know what these structures were, they were a threat. The force of the Knights Obsidian had been depleted, but so long as their stalwart gaze watched over the Confederacy, they'd do what needed to be done to keep their worlds safe, but blind aggression was never the answer.

Careful, mercurial steel eyes would wash over the room as he would make his first announcement.

"I agree, with Some preliminary updates from the front, the materials the structure seem to be made of belay convention of any structures we've seen or come into contact with for some time, we have experts pouring through historical and even a couple of ancient records, but we're yet to make any parallels. The substances they're constructed of are however extraordinarily strong. It's unlikely that conventional weapons would have any effect on the structure. But, what worries me, is that although the structure is incredibly resistant... its how it's resistant that I think is interesting."

He'd pause, not wanting to overwhelm the council with information as he would bring up an image on his holopad loaded with some of the forwarded information from the quartermaster's guild that had been doing testing on selected parts of the structure. State of the art molecular scanners were observing its structure in real time, causing Felix to motion towards the image of the molecular scope, while wirelessly allowing others to access the information by any datapads or digital devices that they had on their person should they want a closer look.

"The structure of this material is a near perfect superconductor, and i use the word near with baited breath... we haven't tested this in risk of activating the structure. But the potential for this material to store and withstand tremendous amounts of potential energy is nothing short of outstanding from preliminary examination. There is the potential that this devise could be weaponized in some way, but we'd require samples and further testing in order to learn anything more or to learn its scope... but based on the mass of the object, and some basic math... I recommend projecting an inward facing planetary class shield around the structure... just in case."

And with that, his presentation was over, it was early days, and this was merely the results from the first few hours of testing, more experts and resources were arriving by the hour. He would salute, fist to his chest in a slight bow, knowing that he was a knight among commanders and leaders of the Order. Eyes moving between Gerwald and Voph, remembering the man from the party at the side of Srina Talon while mingling around members of the Sith Empire... he hadn't discovered much information on the man following up the meetings either it seemed.

It seemed that mysteries were multiplying these days.

No sooner had Gerwald opened the floor for questions than a young squire began to rattle off. It was good to see students wanting to get involved. Perhaps this one was one to watch as she rose through the ranks. Potential was something which should not be wasted especially as the Knights continued to rebuild their ranks.

It did not take Kyyrk Kyyrk long to begin to answer questions. The Lord Commander almost rolled his eyes as he wondered if the recently returned not so dead man thought he was in charge still. Were it not for the fact Exarch Talon had insisted on his reinstatement, Gerwald would have insisted that the man stay away from the Knights Obsidian. For some it was certain to be confusing. Gerwald could certainly say there were moments he was confused about it all.

It was then Voph turned to him with a recommendation. Then came the voice of another, Lord Marshall Kurenai Yumi Kurenai Yumi offering insight into the people of Kamino. Hester Shedo Hester Shedo was present but remained silent for now. If her department was needed for the operation going forward, then she would act, Gerwald was certain. He hoped she would at least give her advice, or impression, based on the reports which had been offered.

Shalita Verd Shalita Verd was the one to offer a counter to Voph’s plan before Gerwald could speak. Leaning back in his seat, Gerwald folded his arms and kicked his feet up onto the table as he listened and pondered the two scenarios. There was another one to consider which came from Felix Aquila Felix Aquila . Gerwald knew of him, but had not met him yet. He was a Knight Obsidian who was ambitious, beyond what a Knight should be. His opinion departed from the other two, which seemed to be more similar after reflection.

Gerwald put his feet back on the floor as he leaned forward. Someone needed to make a decision, and that was Gerwald’s job in this.

“Securing a perimeter around both gates is not necessarily a show of military strength or action. It is a sound and strategic suggestion which would allow us to study these structures further if we wished,” he responded to the rebuttal from Shalita first, “The Knights Obsidian are here to sus out force related threats, and the appearance of two structures out of nowhere seems to fall into that category. You are not incorrect that we should seek whatever opportunities this may present, however. I believe you are more in alignment on this than you think.”

His eyes turned to Felix.

“I am not certain about simply dropping a shield and leaving them be, if that is what you are suggesting. No, what we need to determine is if there is a threat on the other side of these things or not, and we need to know where they lead.”

Gerwald spoke in a tone which he assumed would make the direction clear on the matter. They were not here to discuss a plethora of actions they could take, they simply needed to take action. They would form the plan, and then they would enact it.

He turned to the Lord Marshall among them before tapping on his personal datapad to call Shuklaar Kyrdol Shuklaar Kyrdol into the meeting.

“How many Knights can we spare for such an assignment?”

His gaze then returned to Shalita.

“What interest does the Ministry of Secrets have here? How can we help you get what you need here?”

Some of Dreidi's questions were answered and some were left hanging just because the information was just not there yet. Two giant structures, from the sounds of the man who answered Dreidi and the Lord Commander, it seemed to be two big gates. They appeared out of nowhere? How did they get there? Gah! Dreidi just had more and more questions with the information that she was getting but she also had to understand that the people at the meeting themselves didn't really have an answer for them yet either right now. She just had to be patient and hopefully join in on the missions so that she could find out more. Dreidi was adamant that she was going to learn all she could, this could be a serious threat that endangered everyone's life and as a Jedi she just couldn't sit by and not do anything to prevent that.

If there was no real information about where the structures led to then she was going to sign up for a mission to explore. "Is there a way to active it on our side or is it just one way? Just, if we active it before they do then it will give us the upper hand in the situation, they could be looking to invade, threaten lives or just wish to contact us but we go to them then we could hold the cards instead of them?" Dreidi thought out loud, unsure if that was what everyone else was thinking but also too curious about what could be on the other side to hold back from investigating it. "Also, I am happy to sign up and go to the other side and see what is happening."

She bit her bottom lip, hoping that her age and lack of experience wouldn't hold her back from this mission, she was older now than when she had first joined. 15 was definitely old enough and mature enough for this stuff, surely! Like who thinks 15 is too young for this kind of adventure!

Voph listened quietly as the other members of the impromptu council spoke their minds, asking what questions they will, or sharing what information and conjecture they had. "Much like the others present, it is not the structure itself that concerns me. It is what the structure may bring with it that concerns me. As the Lord Commander said, our best theory is that the structures are, in fact, Hypergates. I've dealt with them before, and these structures bear a striking resemblance." Voph turned his attention squarely on Shalita Verd Shalita Verd . "I agree, the opportunity for study is an enthralling prospect, but how do we know, assuming that it is indeed a gate, that the other side isn't located with the Bryn'adul? How do we know it doesn't lead some place worse?"

He did not feel the need to reinforce his position that a perimeter was not the act of war she was perceiving it to be, as Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner had already made that observation. He simply explained his reasoning behind being prepared. In addition, the Cataclysm was still a fresh memory for many of them. While it seemed Voph and Gerwald were the only two with a healthy respect and fear of this occurrence, it did not change their caution to other strange artifacts appearing in Confederate space. He turned to the child that was present, and answered her question directly. "The exact technology behind hypergates has long been lost to time. In fact, the Gree are the only species I am aware of that even possess the capabilities of designing such things. And even theirs are...rudimentary in comparison to this. If there is a way to activate it from this side, it will be beyond our capabilities to find it. But, even with that in mind, the gate SHOULD be traversable from both directions. Should."

Felix-Template.png

Felix would fold his arms in response to Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner . Realizing perhaps his tone had gone awry with his meaning, he and Kyyrk Kyyrk were right, studying of the structure was paramount and they would need to get to it in order to gather the samples that they needed whether they be in the form of readings or simply analyzing the materials the location was made of. He'd wait a few moments before clarifying his position. The mention of the construct being a hypergate was an intriguing hypothesis, the amount of energy required for something that would functionally open a wormhole from one side of the galaxy to another would defy logic and reason. As Felix listened he would move to his datapad in order to update his information on the matter.

Dreidi Xeraic Dreidi Xeraic would begin to ask questions, and so far, being one of the more qualified on the subject Felix would feel it necessary to answer. "If we are capable of opening them up on our side, we don't know and haven't opted to attempt to do so yet until we learn a little more about them. If we turned them on and they were to create a singularity like that exists between the Corellian system, entire planets would be destroyed. But you're right, which is why i mentioned a shield... I too would be happy to set up a garrison..."

Thankfully he was a quick study, the Hypergates of the Gree were functionally a method of faster than light travel, using a breach in space time in order to transfer matter from one place to another sympathetically. A quantum morphic field manifested as a bridge between two locations perhaps? The positrons of the gates would have to be identical and the force required to cause them to resonate with one another would be titanic... but, if these were indeed gates they were certainly not the same as the ones they had found, firstly, the fact they seemed vastly more advanced.

"...If it's a Hypergate, and I'm not admitting that they are, He's right." He would say referring to Voph. "These are something far more advanced than those Gree gates, and if our readings are right they could contain and channel enough energy to devastate everything around them if they could be weaponized. Sir Gerwald, my proposal was not simply to infer we guard and contain them. We use shield gates to allow limited access to personnel and resources while preparing in case something else decides it wants to come through and we can't contain it by force, or should someone wish to activate or push its systems critical, or should it be attacked from the outside. There's just so much we. don't. know...."

With that, he'd step back, more than certain that his part here was now said, and fading back into the wings of the meeting, but he would find himself gravitating around the room and moving towards Dreidi so that the two of them were able to talk after all this was done.

Hopefully ,they'd be working together soon, and they'd have a lot to discuss.

"Just let me put the Darasuum Morut in orbit, between the ships there and the Morut herself, we'll have that shabla gate vaporized. SAC-02S from the whole fleet and our CIS burc'ya and it'll be done," Strill Securities had personnel on Kamino, training the various batches of clones that the company put out. Fleet Admiral Kote knew about the same time that the report had crossed his own desk. Shuklaar was sure there was a meeting called, and he was sure that he'd be called into it at some point, but he wanted to have more options before he went in.

"Class-D. I don't want to risk fragments of whatever the haran that pile of osik's made of getting anywhere. I know we've got a few of the Haran-class guns on the Tra'naur'kad. Worse comes to worst, we'll retrofit the Morut before we start slinging anything." he said, taking a sip of his tihaar before adding, "shabla shame none of this is in my hands. Of course, ret'lini." Nyles nodded, half dutifully, and half because he knew that not being able to make their own decision about things came with the territory of being mercenaries. Mandalorians, however, always planned for contingencies. Once they were done poking around with it, whatever it was, they'd either need someone to kill it or kill whatever came out of it. He figured that's where they'd come in.

"Have they told you anything more than some big shabla structures appeared in space and we've got the gotabors thinking on it?" asked Nyles, eyebrow raised as he drew his own glass of tihaar up to his lips for some liquid encouragement. Shuklaar smiled wryly and chuckled mirthlessly as he shook his head. Nyles' laugh that followed was equally mirthless. "Of course. So we're all on shabla standby till they figure out more, eh vod?"

Shuklaar nodded, and was about to comment when his com-link went off, and who would it turn out to be the Lord Commander. That, if anything, was his cue. "I'm hoping that means that they've figured something out, vod." Shuklaar drained what little was left in the glass and placed the empty one back onto his desk, the glass landing with a slightly hollow thud on the veshok wood desk. "Keep an eye on
Jar'ika for me." With an exchanged nod, Shuklaar slipped his buy'ce on and walked out of his office.

It was not a long trip to the Obsidian Headquarters, the Knights Obsidian's base of operations. He found his way to the meeting hall without much difficulty, and made his way inside. There were a few he recognized instantly, others, not so much. Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner was one of the former. The Lord Commander of the Knights Obsidian was fondly talked of by Colonel Kote. Hester Shedo Hester Shedo he'd known before she'd become the Minister of Influence, since her days as the Viceroy of Scarif in fact.

Shalita Verd Shalita Verd he knew of, but he'd never met. Ruus had mentioned working with her once. Felix Aquila Felix Aquila too, he knew by reputation alone. The two other Knights Obsidian in the room, he did not know. As he was making his way into the room, standing a little ways off from the others, he caught the last bits of Felix Aquila Felix Aquila 's conversation. Something about shield gates. That told him one thing; they wanted to limit access to this thing. When the man mentioned something coming out, Shuklaar suddenly had a better idea of why he was called into the meeting.

He waited for Felix to finish talking and then decided to clarify the first question on his mind, "So it's a gate, then? Sure as haran the shabla thing wasn't there before. So who put it there, and why? Might seem pointless, but if something's going to come out of that, we need to know what sort of measures to bring to try and stop it."

As more people arrive the conclusion that the two structures were some sort of hyper gate became the accepted theory. Though not an area Kurenai was familiar with it did make the most sense but still the prevailing fact was why and how did they suddenly appear. "While the potential use of the gates is certainly interesting the potential risk of it opening up to an area that could just bring more troubles is always present". "For all we know they either link up with each other or the both lead to some other space and on the other sides their an entire invasion fleet waiting".

After all hypergates appearing near two quite important worlds to the CIS with very long histories seemed a little fishy. "If we are insistent on opening the gates I suggest we try it with only one, while keeping the other on heavy lock down". "Help to alleviate any possible risk unless both need to be activated at the same time". If so that could prove problematic. "I am also not to certain they should be weaponized until we fully understand them". Though not usually her style a careful approach is what she proposed for this unknown occurrence. Though if it was indeed found out to be a threat, well she'd be on of the first to want to head in ready for battle.

Gerwald leaned back and listened as the debate formed around him. They all had valid points, and almost every person in attendance came to the same question.

Who put them there?

It was a mystery, and with the speed and efficacy of their arrival Gerwald was concerned that intelligence behind it would be of a race far superior technologically than their own. Yet, other questions formed in the Lupine’s mind. Where did they lead to? Why hadn’t they been activated yet? The questions had no bearing on what they needed to do, but they did color the circumstance of the structures’ presence.

Gerwald leaned forward as his fingers started to drum on the table. As a potential force related threat, the decision was his to make on how to proceed. Protecting the Confederacy from whatever could come through the gates was his responsibility in this juncture. For all they knew the originator only had peaceful intentions, but experience had taught the wolf he needed to hope for the best while preparing for the worst.

“We aren’t going to simply shield the worlds without the consent of their governing bodies. While it might be in the best interest, let’s be careful not to overstep their sovereign rule. This is not classified as an emergency yet. Reach out to the appropriate Viceroys and begin that conversation,” Gerwald addressed Felix Aquila Felix Aquila . Since it was his idea, he could do the leg work.

“In the meantime. I want whatever available resources we have to take a defensive position around the gates.” Gerwald turned to Kyyrk Kyyrk . “Contact the Grand Marshal and request their assistance on this.”

His eyes then turned to Shuklaar Kyrdol Shuklaar Kyrdol . Mobilize as many of Strill as you can in case we need extra numbers. I don't know if the gates will open for travel, or what will be found on the other side. I want us ready in case these gates exist for hostile intent.”

The other Lord Marshall in the room, Kurenai Yumi Kurenai Yumi spoke with wisdom. They should only experiment with one gate.

“Kamino,” Gerwald said. “Their scientists could also prove valuable in analyzing whatever data we can gather.”

The wolf leaned back in his chair.

“Any other questions? Anything we are missing here?”

The hall fell silent for a moment as Lechner's words came to an end, Kurenai waiting a few moments before addressing the Lord Commander, shaking her head. "I do not have any further questions myself no and it would seem everyone else share that same sentiment"? She questioned as no one else had yet to speak up, seemed that those present had voiced their opinions on the matter at hand.
