PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Knife
  • Size: Small.
  • Weight: Average.
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Monomolecular Edge: With a monomolecular edge, the weapon has a higher chance of penetrating armor or natural carapace than a traditional knife of the same style, whose ability to do so is already very impressive.
  • Ultrasonic Vibration Generator: The ultrasonic vibration generator increases the already very deadly weapon's natural armor penetration and gives even a shallow stab the potential to do great damage on target.
  • Rylith Power Cell: The weapon makes use of a Rylith Power Cell, making for significantly increased battery life, as well as the capability to recharge the cell with exposure to sunlight.
  • Nasty Wound Channel: The wound channels made by this weapon are extremely difficult to seal conventionally without the use of bacta and can cause severe internal damage.
WEAKNESSES
  • Out of Power: Once the weapon is out of power, it's back to being a knife of the same style that's sharper than a standard one.
  • EMP/Ion: Should the weapon's EMP/Ion defenses be overwhelmed by a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon, then once again it is back to being a knife of the same style that's sharper than a standard one.
  • Beskar: The weapon is, at the end of the day, made from beskar. Given the number of anti-beskar measures in the galaxy, there's a relatively high chance of running into one of them.
  • Stabbing, Not Cutting: While the edges are sharp, the knife's shape is not conducive to cutting, and sometimes the situation requires an edged weapon that can cut.
  • It's a Knife: Knives don't have reach, and the 'Skirata' isn't an exception. Add to the fact that it's a stabbing weapon, not a cutting one, and its effective reach becomes even more limited.
DESCRIPTION
Though not Mandalorian in design, the three sided knife allegedly used by members of the Skirata clan eventually found its way into the Breshig system, where it quickly became a popular weapon amongst the Mandalorians who called the system home. The fact that the knife was both weighted for throwing as well as the fact that it was capable of creating extremely nasty wound channels. The modernized version featured a monomolecular edge and point, enhancing its chances of penetrating armor or natural carapace. The ultrasonic vibration generator increases the weapon's augmented armor penetration granted by the monomolecular point and edge and gives even a shallow stab the potential to do great damage on target.

Unfortunately, once the weapon runs out of power or should the weapon's EMP/Ion defenses be overwhelmed by a powerful enough EMP/Ion weapon, then it is back to being a particularly sharp three sided 'Skirata' style knife. The knife's shape is not conducive to cutting, and combined with the traditionally reduced reach of a knife, it's small effective reach is thereby furthermore limited. Additionally, there are a number of anti-beskar measures in the galaxy, and there's a relatively high chance of running into one of them.
