As Cass's crew took care of the ambushers Dedata kept around the corner her eyes keeping track of those behind the marble table in a safe spot. She heard the first pop of the sonic grenade. The sound alone made her flinch. The blasting kept going being traded back and forth. Over the sound she did not hear Cass shouting for a sonic grenade, but she did hear that very one to open fire.

Even if she had a blaster there was no way Dedata would stick her head out to fire one of those things. The idea of shooting one was as bad as been shot by one for her. After the blast cleared of the sonic grenade that Cass threw, there was a momentary silence that followed. The slicer peaked around the corner to already see sparks, heck she could hear them. Anyone in the hall would have heard Dedata slap her helmets forehead with such an audible thud, so hard it made her hand hurt.

Of course the pirate woman had realised the mistake too. As she panicked over the coms to one of her own people Dedata typed. "You are a dumbass, but let me assess the damage, see if anything remains behind the thing.
4TsQGPK.gif
"
She floated the datapad towards Cass to read as she moved over to the terminal, or what was left of it.

Taking out the short spear, she drive the point into the seem where panels connected to pry it off. Behind was wires of varying colours. A bright spark exploded and smoke followed. There was no way she could open the doors from here. Kicking away from the wall sending herself back towards the Pirate. She took her datapad to type again.

"You are going to have to hold this point for a while. Damn thing may only have one door but they still gotta have vents inside in case someone gets trapped, with luck I can open it from the inside. Would not look good on the rich if someone died on all that loot. Once I am in, grav is gonna have to come back on. Now for the worst part. If I am going in the damn vents there is a chance Life supports might need to go off. Last thing I want is to be trapped by fans or for auxiliary fans to turn on to remove a blockage. I mean that is unless you have something to cut through it?
4TsQGPK.gif
"
She doubted they had something at the ready to cut through still worth asking. showed the woman the message and held it up for her to read.

"Dee you are going to have to be my voice from here. You are doing a good job so far. When I say switch grav and life support please do it as quick as possible."

"Affirmative Dedata."

She waited for a moment for any reply from Cass before searching for a way into the vents.

Bigger Fish To Fry

As they worked their way towards the vault, a pair of security guards in grav boots burst into the hallway from a side corridor, heading for the vault too. Yu fired her dart pistol, a singe shot at each. The eyes of the men rolled back into their heads and they collapsed. The sound of fighting ahead stopped and the pair eventually rounded the corner where Yu knew the vault lay.

"Wait." Viz pulled Yu back, once she had taken care of the security guards. "Wait wait." The hall empty, she floated over to the pair of guards and removed one of their headsets. Quickly, she scanned it with her HUD and sent the data to CAB, who sent her an encryption code to patch into it. She patted around the guards quickly for anything useful as the sound of the ships radio traffic filled her ear. If they could get a sense of where the hotspots were for security, that would give them an edge.

"--- I dont care what kind of weapons they have and I don't care about the magic of the guest experience anymore--" Viz gestured to Yu to approach and re-routed the sound from the headset to her wristlet output. The voice over the comm was sharp and had lost any sense of decorum befitting his station. It was the hotel's captain, she was sure of it. He continued. "The thing that needs protecting is the artifact. Focus your energy on the Eye. These sith-forsaken pirates can have the vault for all I care."

Viz raised her eyebrows, and met Yu's gaze. They listened further. "Sir, all of our resources are - GAK!" There was a burst of blaster fire as the signal cut out on the channel. Then static.

"Methinks something more interesting than a vault awaits we intrepid adventureres... where besides a vault would a captain keep the most precious item onboard? His own quarters, that's where. " She tapped her headset and switched back to her private channel, unencumbered by the radio traffic. "CAB, I need a schematic of the ship, specifically the crews and captains quarters. I have a hunch a larger payout just made itself more available than we thought." She closed the comm and grinned at Yu. "Let's get this show on the road, shall we?"

Blaster fire rained down the hallway to smack into the wall where the corridor turned. Domino had come around it to find a barricaded firing line waiting for her. Or more likely anyone that didn't look passenger or crew. It made sense for a large ship like this to have 'defense points' set up rather than a force to sweep through and meet attackers head on. That required a lot more people, and thus paying a lot more people for an eventuality you hoped never happened. Once of the security crew shouted something as he opened up with a fresh flurry of fire. "It's lunch time and I'm serving up an all you can eat buffet!" Inwardly Domino grimaced. It was possibly the worst line she had ever heard.

Deciding to put an end to it, she spun out into the corridor, left arm out to flick the Alsvin's ultrasonic lash out. With the power up, it could have cut through all three of the defenders, instead she had it set low enough so it simply wrapped around the one that had shouted. A mighty yank pulled him forward while the magnets in his boots held him down, this brought his face into contact with the steel barrier, knocking him out with a loud clunk. His comrades responded by firing back at her again, the few blasts hitting her splashing harmlessly. Her return fire was again simple stun shots, but they quickly put down the remaining opposition and Domino made sure not to spare the concussed man his share. It wouldn't do to have him wake up behind her.

Stepping onto the barrier, Domino pulsed her radar again and was finally satisfied that she was far enough over the vault. "This is Lotus," she commed again, "I'm beginning my entry into the vault, if anyone's made it inside stay clear of the ceiling." Slinging her rifle and readying her saber, Domino ignited the yellow blade and plunged it deep into the floor where she slowly began cutting a circle a little over two meters across.

Dispara and Mouse watched as the living projectile spewing fire slammed into the troopers like a missile. Weapons, gear, some in splinters were sent through the air to float once their momentum died out. Then, the Kraken pirate could see more clearly the assailer. A giant, statuesque female clothed in nothing but a towel wrapped around her powerful feminine figure, moving in lethal, martial grace as she crushed the ship's troopers. Those burning yellow eyes met the cool icy blue of Dispara's. It was glorious and terrible and wonderful.

It was Joycelyn Zambrano.

"Joy! Fek yeah!" Dispara hooted in exaltation. Behind her the crew watched in awe, familiar Joycelyn but never seeing her in such violence. Beside Dispara, Mouse the Epicanthix stared with her jaw hanging open. If anyone could have torn their eyes off of the violent scene before them, they might have seen Mouse's eyes tear up. To her people, Joycelyn Zambrano was not just a powerful figure, she was demi-divinity.

Dispara made no move against the armed men, It was too beautiful watching the art of their demise at the hands of the dark and brutal woman. Joy needed no help. Looking back, her crew had finished gathering the loot from the casino. Their captain hollered back at them. "Any women's watches, crystal ones? Get them up here." Dispara remembered what Cass Gemini Cass Gemini requested, and she would be sure to have a gift for her friend after the ship had been plundered.

Once the squad of troopers was taken down, Dispara held up a hand for her crew to stay. The look in Joycelyn's fiery gaze during the fight was voracious and ravaging, not the eyes of the commanding woman she knew. But the half-Sephi admitted only to herself at the excitementt she felt seeing the giant Epicanthix-Vahla again.

"Great timing, thanks for the help." Dispara offered as she took a few steps closer to the carnage Joycelyn had left. "Um... I spilled my drink back there. Can I borrow your towel?" Her lips curled into a snarky grin and her pale blue eyes flashed.

Yu held her place, grasping a glow sconce along the wall. Viz had the foresight to snatch one of the fallen guard's comms, donning the headset and doing some patchwork on her own gear. When Viz gestured to Yu, the Nautolan floated closer as a voice routed through the woman's wristlet gave a panicked order. The short, interrupted message was enough. Large black eyes again met the pretty blues of the scavenger, a lecherous grin gracing her lips. She could see it in her companion's eyes. Damn robbing staterooms, or having to split the take from a vault a zillion different ways. They had the inside info on the big prize aboard the luxury liner.

"Oh yes my new friend, finally something worthy of two such excellent women!" Yu proclained cheekily. While Viz called for the ship's schematics, Yu quickly commed her team. "I have a new target, carry on. I will signal you when I am ready." She quipped, then stowed the comm.

Pulling herself down to one of the fallen troopers, she examined his gear. Unfortunately, his magna boots were way too big. But she removed his utility belt with a holstered stun pistol. Then she peeled off his blast vest, slipping it on over her leather dress. Ditching the stolen purse, Yu stored the stolen goods in the various pockets of the vest and belt, finding a place to stick the sliid gun as well.

Slinging the guard's blaster carbine over her shoulder and plucking a flash grenade from a pocket in his cargo pants, Yu was better prepared for their adventure. She floated in a graceful pose, even encumbered with her new gear, and addressed Viz.

"I trust you can find the way, Lady Viz?" Yu asked, grinning.

As her prey began to slacken, Joycelyn released him and moved herself to a resemblance of a straight stance, though she was still untethered by gravity. A smile grew on her lips, encouraged by Dispara's shouts and the focus of the onlookers. She raised a hand up and touched the ceiling, then used that grounding touch to kick downwards to finish her last prey with a sickening crunch.

Some were left twitching, others lay perfectly still.

Joyce's demeanor changed when she was facing the half-sephi and her crew. She brushed the black hair back away from her face with a slow exhale. While the fierceness never truly vanished, the brutality was tamed behind a curtain of self-command.

"Dis." "You are early. I did not expect you here until the next rotation."

The Vahlacanthix pushed off the side of the wall to move herself closer, perhaps closer than one would in polite conversation. At this distance, looking down at Dispara, her eyes were more like liquid gold than molten iron. Or perhaps there was some trick to how she presented herself.

Her eyebrow perked at the sly request for the towel. She reached a hand out to touch Dispara's chin as her eyes narrowed mischievously.

"I do not think it will be the only thing we spill tonight."

Then, Joycelyn turned her focus to Mouse.

While Epicanthix could often go unnoticed among the masses, they were easily recognisable to one of their own. From details of their eyes, to the method of sculpting their bodies. Mouse's continuous, misty-eyed stare also helped.

"Yay oli hol hlap uapi, xyd mad hol hlap hopesi'. I op nlayk da rii i'ay."
You are far from home, but not far from family. I am proud to see you.

It was, in part, a traditional greeting among far travelers from Panatha, but rare words to hear from a Zambrano. Much less a warrior princess of Kaine's dynasty. Joycelyn's pronunciation of Pacanth was marked by her Vahla heiritage, but that too had become a staple of her persona among the epicanthix.

Dispara watched as Joycelyn stilled her last foe with unceremonious brutality. While the rest of the audience looked on in awe, Dispara had a wide grin on her face. As the towering woman pulled herself towards the pirates, Captain Na'Gara eyed her with admiration of broad shoulders, and strong limbs. Even in nothing but a towel, Joycelyn looked like a war goddess carved out of white marble.
"Dis." "You are early. I did not expect you here until the next rotation."
"Well..." Dispara started coyly as the giant Vhala Epicanthix drew up to tower over her. "I decided to show up early, for once." Dispara had a reputation for showing up late for just about anything. Joycelyn drew up so close it stirred a flutter in Dispra's belly. She looked up at Joycelyn. A welcomed shiver raced down Dispara's spine as she met Joy's molten golden eyes. The touch of a strong finger on her chin coaxed the half-sephi to lift her head a bit more towards the glorious figure.
"I do not think it will be the only thing we spill tonight."
Dispara's lips parted in a wry grin, and anyone close would swear they heard the pirate witch purr. Her gaze followed Joycelyn's as they both looked to Mouse. Dispara's Epicanthix team leader was tall, but was dwarfed by Joycelyn. The pirate woman stared in reverent awe as a celebrity of her homeworld deigned to speak to her. While Dispara could not understand the words Joycelyn spoke to Mouse, they compelled the woman to smile and bow her head. Mouse was a hard ass, and to see her humble herself before another spoke volumes about Joycelyn's reputation outside of her piracy. A side of the woman Dispara knew little about.

"We will have good reason to celebrate." Dispara replied, "Promise that you will save some celebration time for me." The blonde elfin pirate cooed. Dispara knew why she found Joycelyn so attractive. The woman was sheer power and authority, wrapped in a statuesque figure of feminine strength and harsh beauty. But there was more. There was an alluring darkness around Joycelyn that toyed with Dispara's own dalliance in the Dark Side. Darkness, power, command, it was a lethal cocktail that made Joycelyn a seductive entity Dispara could not resist.

:: "Boss, we kinda jammed the Chandelier in the doorway.":: Pyotr says sheepishly through the comm, the sounds of an escalating argument in the background made Isidor frown with exasperation, but he knew it was going to happen regardless. They are scary Pirates, but even they ran into strange problems. They were far from incompetent, they are ferocious fighters, led by a great captain. But even they have a Jar-Jar moment.

::<"Cut it up and bring it in a piece by piece,">:: Isidor replied while firing back at the defenders of the vault, as soon as one got close enough he removed their head with his sword, this is slow progress and there is a brawl on the other end of the comm line too.

::<"Knock that off and all!">:: Isidor barked down the line and the fight stopped.

They need to make progress soon and brute force is not going to move that Vault door, not universally there is more, including explosives. As soon as he deals with the forces here, he'll get explosives onto the Vault hinges. Link back up with Cass and have a celebratory drink of the high-end champagne, it was made with the finest ingredients.

A tough fight and the Blood Corsairs advanced, pushing security back and using the gravity absence to their advantage by blasting them down the corridors. Eventually, they were in reach of the prize. But their advance was cut by more defensive fire, which stalled them further. The contents must be beyond priceless if they are putting this much of a fight into defending it.

Gems, gold, silver, Beskar or even top secret things they cannot even begin to imagine and they will have it all once they get into it. The air of mystery and surprise is what kept them fighting.

Sanjay the Gran took this moment to get to the Vault to inspect how to get explosives onto it and not destroy everything inside. This is delicate.

"I may be a dumbass, but at least I'm pretty, you can discipline me later" she blew a friendly kiss Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree and laughed as the little slicer tried to work her magic. Sadly informing her that in this case, Cass had been a dumbass by blowing the terminals. She looked at the doors and shook her head.

"no can do, I have dealt with this design before, they have a three inch core of pyronium that absorbs the heat from a lightsaber and causes the molten metal to fuse back together as soon as it passes. It's expensive but it is very useful against the likes of me. Here, take this."

Cass tossed her lightsaber to Dedata | Celty Ree Dedata | Celty Ree "might come in handy if you need to cut through the vents, but dont get too attached, I'm having it back once we get inside.... and don't touch the red glowy bit." she laughed, still bearing the scar from the first time she ever handled a light saber.

She reached into her pocket and grabbed out a packet of Rebreather lozenges handing them out to her crew, and shutting the door to the room. She grinned at Dedata as the lozenge began to dissolve and released oxygen into her mouth, this would give the slicer options if she needed the.

"Good luck in there"

Crunch Time

Viz and Yu Karloo started for the turbolift, Viz was certain of where they were going after the ship's schematics filtered into her HUD. They needed to get two decks down from where they were now, and with the concentration primarily on the vault, they should be able to slip in and out relatively undetected with limited obstacles.

She hit the pad on the turbolift and it slid open, covering her self and Yu, she slipped in first. As she did though, the sound of a sonic caused the ship to jolt violently and she felt the repulsors in the lift shudder. Before she had time to flee the lift, Snitch had jumped from her shoulder to Yu's and the blast door slid shut.

"Oh Fek--" she let out before the entire lift went rocketing straight down. For a vessel that had zero gravity, Viz thought vaguely about the physics of a turbolift going into free fall, but as she was pressed hard against the ceiling against the force of the fall she couldn't work the science in her head too well. She also couldn't calculate the force with which the momentum would let her go once the lift crashed so she grabbed hard onto the service hatch bar and prayed for a soft landing.

The lift shuttered and jolted to a stop, something, she knew not what, dampening the shock. She floated lightly back down from the ceiling. The anticlimax of it made her feel uneasy and a bit nauseous but she supposed she was grateful. She was worried about Snitch and hoped that Yu would take care of him, or vice versa to be honest. She didn't like not knowing where he was but so was the art of the heist. A massive oversimplification, but whatever.

The door to the lift wouldn't budge. She scoffed and undid her lightsaber, the snap-hiss-fush sound (not a clean sound by any means) of the vented yellow blade sputtering and spitting under her hand. She had enough charge in it (before it would die completely) to slice open the door. She inexpertly shoved the blade into the plating and began to slice through, the metal glowing and oozing red. After about three minutes, shed created a hole large enough to pull her shoulders and hips through, and it was a good thing too, because the saber began to putter angrily. The last thing she needed was it to explode, although that would be just her luck at this point. She powered it down and re-attached it to her belt maneuvering her body through the hole and giving thanks that though she was curvaceous, she was also slight in breadth.

She tapped the HUD readout, surprised her personalities had been so quiet throughout the whole debacle, not that she needed their input, and none were physically more fit than she (one body after all) so she couldn't hold it against them. Rare were the times it was quiet in her head.

A whistling in her ear broke her from her reverie. CAB was directing her, because she had somehow, through force of fate and a twist in luck, landed on the floor she needed to be on which house the crew and captains quarters. As she'd expected, the corridor was deserted, with very little barring her way between her and the larger of the cabin doors at the end of the hall. Easy pickings.

Judge queen - The Runner

7rqb4Uj.png

She turned her head in time to catch the saber, her eyes inspecting it for a second. "So this is the tool that has caused more death in this galaxy, such a barbaric tool." She spoke to herself as she kept on the move. Her attention would move up and down looking for a good access. A few turns down some hallways and she felt lucky to have her scanners up to avoid any encounters. For now she was on her own and there was no alleyways or buildings with ledges she could use to escape. However she could not escape the encounters the path she needed to take had two people down it.

Given it would normally be a choice of fight or flight she did not really have that luxury. Dedata gulped as she removed her Kopis and ignited the red blade. A colour normally carried by those religious zealots that call themselves sith. Sheltered as the Info broker may be it was hard not to see so much about them and their cruelties. Kicking hard against the wall then repeating the motion going down, she would move side to side quickly to make herself a harder target. The glimpses helped her avoid shots best they could neither of them let up as she got close quickly. The shots she could not dodge, she tried to keep angling the saber to compensate to hit the red blaster bolts.

If anything, it felt more like luck that she was avoiding. Once on top of them she swung the blade below her, the fist strike did as intended to hit the blaster the first guy carried, the second one however she missed the blaster instead Dedata hit the mans hands like a knife through butter. She did not mean to, but they was aiming to kill her. If anything they where lucky she was not a pirate.

Getting to the vent she used the blade to cut open the hatch then unignited the saber as well as putting away the Kopis. "Okay Dee," She pulled herself inside far enough so that she would not fall out. "Switch from gravity to life support."

"Afirmative Dedata. Changing sub systems in three, two, one."

The woman felt her body drop a little against the vent. No doubt a few people would be walking away with bruises, scrapes and broken bones. They where all just on the wrong ship at the wrong time nothing more nothing less. "Think you could display the Vent path I need to get me above the vault Dee?"

"Displaying to your visor. This path is the most efficient route to take."

"Thanks Dee."

There was a loud clatter as gravity reasserted herself and Cass felt herself become heavier again. One of the women accompanying her laughed. "I must be getting old captain, every time someone switches the gravity on the girls drop with just a little more eagerness."

Cass laughed, "don't worry, you still look fab girl!" she rattled the lozenge around in her mouth, they wouldn't suffocate but the stale air dulled the senses much quicker than it risked poisoning you.

Behind her she head footsteps as more guards approached. She took cover behind the same marble desk she had originally attached and her Pirate teams also took cover and stayed quiet. There were at least 5 of them, probably heavily armed, she heard them slow as they crept into the apparent empty vault.

"Now!" she shouted into her comm. She rose up and unloaded with her sonic shotgun, instantly killing the lead soldier. They were good and reacted quickly and proefessionally, one of her pirates took a hit and went down before he even got to fire, kark!. For all their skill though, they were sitting ducks and were quickly overcome by the pirates. When the dust settled, Cass took stock, 1 dead pirate and one lightly injured, 5 dead soldiers. Not perfect but it was what it was.

she laughed and closed the comm to her friends.

The Gravity returned and Domino sank into her crouch a little more as she felt the invisible pull tug on her extremities and those little places inside that always seemed to float a moment when gravity shifted. Still, she was on the ground in her mag boots, so other than suddenly having to move a little heavier, Domino didn't care. The three guards she'd shot unconscious might when they work up. They'd been left floating around the corner and were now in an intermingles pile tossed to the floor.

Finishing her circuit, Domino stepped to the side to examine the hole she'd left cut in the floor. it was just over 4 meters across and as deep through as she could plunge her sabers. The thickness of the vault had contributed to the slowness of the pace somewhat, but Domino wasn't perturbed by it. Instead reaching out with her off-hand towards the plug and giving it a steady pull with the Force. Frustratingly it barely moved, the metal flooring under the scorched carpet instead deforming as part of the melted layering began to re-solidify together. Fine, she could force it, or lift at it while cutting, but why work against gravity when making it work for you was so much easier and quicker?

Domino put away her de-activated saber and unslung her grenade launcher as she walked away down the hall, unloading it and ejecting the chambered grenade as she did. A quick force pull returned the unspent shell to her hand and she casually placed it home inside its magazine before trading it with one wrapped in a single stripe of dark purple tape she took from a special armored magazine pouch. This one she loaded into the launcher as she again turned to sight down the hall way to the section she'd been cutting at. She paused a moment as her HUD came up with the targeting to comm her erstwhile allies. "Lotus to all, breaching the vault ceiling. Stand clear if inside." She gave it another few heartbeats before stroking her finger over the trigger to send a single projectile in a smooth arc to detonate just above the circle she'd cut.

The silence of the Oubliette grenade was what always struck her the most, you could blink and miss the fractional second existence of the pure black circle, but the lack of sounds was really what made it seem a non-entity. Approaching the hole again, Domino was pleased to see it now extended all the way into the vault, her earlier weakening of the vault had prevented warping on the surrounding structure as the miniature black hole did its work.

Unpausing in her advance this time, Domino walked straight over the edge to land on the floor below. "I'm in, making my way to the door to meet you."

Sitting Pretty

Viz pulled herself to the door at the end of the corridor and once more, ignited her lightsaber. There was no easy way for her to break into the captains quarters without her slicing through the panel locking mechanism. She had a limited amount of time on it, the blade was still hot from the turbolift and she really needed to give it a rest. She just didn't have a choice... her vibroblade wouldn't cut through the plating.

She made a neat slice on the underside of the panel and disengaged the weapon, clipping it back to her belt. Then she tugged gently on the panel and heard it give from the socket. She released her multitool and held it in her teeth. Pulling two of the wires together, she heard a snap, twisted the stripped ends around one another and quickly fused them with the tool. There was a snap and a shishh sound and the door opened flawlessly.

"Nice." Stilza grunted.

"Oh you're awake." Viz said, entering the suite and taking in the not-unexpected grandiosity of the place. "I thought I just might get away from this job without the play by play commentary."

"You know you love me, stop it."

Viz rolled her eyes. Just as she did though, she felt a tug and the gravity re-engaged. She went tumbling to the floor with a yelp, landing hard on her tailbone. "Fierfek!" She cursed and stood, rubbing her bottom. The underlying hum of the ventilated air had stopped. "I don't know what they are kriffing doing up there, but I wish they would stop fekking with the environmental controls. Filthy, blasted pirates."

"Says the Mob Associate."
Moragan declared self righteously.

"Oh good." Viz's voice dripped irony. "You're awake too. I needed some dampening of my moral bankruptcy at precisely this moment."

"Pretty shiny!" Naobi interjected and Viz swiveled to the really obvious hermetically sealed glass case near the viewport. In it, nestled in a hydrofoam case, sat the Eye of Koda.

Viz took a precious moment to stare at the treasure, her mind spinning. The gem, the size of a credit chit, glinted an indeterminant color, somewhere between smoke grey and silver and was set in platinum which reflected the viewport lights in the case. The chain that held it was delicate for an amulet of that size, but looked baskar strong.

"Any idea what kind of alarms might be on that case?" Stilza asked.

"Does it even matter at this point?" Viz retorted. "Anyone who is anyone has their hands full with the vault. This is leftover candy."

She strode over to the case and unclipped the glass. As a whoosh of air escaped the encapsulated pod, a siren began to blare.

The pair made good time on their route to their new target, one Yu hopedd others had not thought of. Viz had proven more than a delightful companion, though her pet was a bit of a distraction. Zero gravity kept it clinging to Viz like a scared child.

The turbolift was the next turn, the ride taking them even closer to the big prize they...welll Viz, had found. The door slid open and the two of them were halfway through when the ship rocked with a loud boom. Viz was thrown forward, Yu backward. The lift door slammed shut, but not before the monkey lizard lept through the shrinking opening. With a shriek, it clung to the Nautolan's head, much to Yu's displeasure.

With a hasty if not graceful recovery, Yu banged on the lift door and slammed her hand against the button. Nothing. Then, as if to add injury to insult, the ship's gravity suddenly engaged. With the monkey lizard clinging to her, Yu crashed to the floor. A string of expletives suitable to a pirate burst from her lips as she climbed to her feet, quickly regaining equilibrium. Looking back at the stalled turbolift, she sighed and turned to move back down the corridor. Having kicked off her heels when gravity first disengaged to allow for better purchase in moving, Yu now moved barefoot, in her short leather dress and the stolen blast vest.

Reaching into a pocket of the vest, she pulled out her comm. "Where the hell are you?" She barked, the noble Lady Yu giving way to the pissed Pirate Captain. Maybe she could meet up with her team, or run into Viz along the way. The monkey lizard remained afixed to her shoulder, requiring Yu to repeatedly bat away the hands that play with her head tendrils.

"The vault, the Eye, the looting, and I get the monkey lizard."
She said with a sardonic murmur.

Judge queen - The Runner

7rqb4Uj.png

The woman crawled on her hands and knees feeling the cold and almost loud metallic thuds of the vents. She was thankful for one thing, the vents where moderately cleaner than those on planets. Even if it where not for the orange glow of her visor, the darkness inside them would not face much of an issue. Dedata lived in the darkness for that was what her eyes was used to, the exception being the illuminations of screens that surrounded her on all sides.

She came to the section that lead vertically up, this was going to be the longest part and the most dangerous. It would be one long shimmy up. With a little crouch down the woman jumped high as she can in the cramped environment, her back and hands smashed against the side as the rubber of her boots gave grip on the other side. One small movement at a time and she moved upwards.

Obstacles presented a little challenge like fan blades. However the lightsaber the pirate woman gave her worked well with that, no doubt every couple of feet the sound of metal tumbling down would echo through the vents for most to hear.

After a few minuets she finally reached the top and the woman was back to crawling around a few more twists. Not before long the sounds of her crawling changed. There was less reverb and echo, Dedata knew she was between two layers of thick heavy plating. One more turn and finally she arrived at hatch that lead straight into the vault. There was a smile behind that visor that glowed a blood orange hue. She heard the coms from Cass Gemini Cass Gemini asking her progress. It felt almost like the woman doubted her abilities.

Perhaps she was not but to Dedata that's is how it felt. "Dee tell her all is going to plan and to wait."

"Yes Dedata." The Vi said before using the encrypted coms. "Everything is going to plan. Please be patient as Dedata does her task."

One, two, three, four hard kicks on the hatch and it flung open. She slid out hanging on the rim. Looking around and down she was to high for a straight drop, instead she had to aim for the wall to brake some momentum. Her legs kicked back and forth sending the woman swinging. One more kick and she let go hurdling to the wall ahead. Both feet planted onto the wall with a well timed push she spun horizontally to prepare for the roll.

She got to the bottom unharmed and no sprained or broken bones. That was a plus. It looks as she was doing her thing someone else higher up had gotten in too. Passing a stand Dedata picked up a circlet made of aurodium and a large rainbow gem set in the centre with two blue heart's of fire on either side. As she kept her pace to the door the woman hung it over the right ear of her helmet.

Getting to the panel the woman took out her datapad and connected it to the port. Her fingers typed furiously against the screen with lettering only readable to her. The sounds of the locks on both sides could be heard shifting, Dedata herself could see them move from her side. Thirty two bolts and one by one they shifted. The algorithm used was no joke, most slicers would have least tripped once, but Dedata was smart, she was fast, she made art in the form of code. Her tricks are unknown by non because she does not share her know how unlike some slicers. Perhaps that's why those who hear of her dislike her.

She did not want any part of their community for it is filled with those with ulterior motives. It's how governments are able to upgrade their systems so fast. They can call her greedy, but the info broker worked hard for her craft so why should she share it to those not willing to put in the work, why should she let people get a free hand out in a light of work she was best at? A simple answer and only one she would give anyone, because she is better and she is no fool. "Dee turn life support back on. Let the people breath clean air again."

Another moment passed by and the final lock dropped. Dedata removed her datapad and put it back in her thigh bag. Moving over to the door, she pushed it open.

"Sithspit Sithspit Sithspit..." Too late now for finesse, Viz chucked the glass covering, letting it bounce off the floor out of her way. She grabbed the amulet.

No sooner had she touched it did she feel her body run hot, then freezing cold, ice shooting from her bare fingertips up into her arm and settling in her chest. She coughed, the feeling of ice gripping her and felt her heart palpitate. There was no pain, but the discomfort made her nearly drop the artifact, and made her drop fully to her knees in shock. "Oh damn..." She hissed. Before she could fully regain herself, though, three guards in starline uniform, one in captain's gear ran in shooting, no bars held.

Stilza slammed into her body, ejecting Viz, who was still dazed out of the way and outward into the aether. Viz watched from above and felt the tug of the Force as her body righted itself, pivoted and activated her lightsaber, reflecting the kill bolts away from her person. In a split second, Stilza thumbed the blaster off stun (fight fire with fire, and all that, the schuta had little regard for people's lives) and hit all three of them deadshot with very little exposition. Still crouching Stilza yanked a death stick from her cargo pocket and lit it with her saber before shutting the thing down to avoid overheating.

"I thought I told you not to smoke when you're driving. Where did you even get those?" Viz chided.

"I put them in there while you were asleep. I do a lot while you're asleep, actually. Anyway, my body my choice."

"Our body, Stil."

"Mine right now. I'm sticking around for a minute." She pocketed the Amulet.

"Are we not going to address the Amulet/Shock factor? What in space was that?" Moragan asked.

"Not as yet." Stilza took a long draw from the death stick and then stubbed it and re-pocketed it. "Nobody give me an atta-girl for those shots..." she said ironically. "seriously, I'm just doing my job."

Viz rolled her metaphorical eyes. "We need to get back to Yu, she has Snitch and I bet we can nab a few extras if we catch up to her."

"Yeah." Stilza stood and spun her blaster on her finger, jutting a hip out. "I have a feeling we won't be alone for much longer anyway."

Viz is now cursed by the Eye of Koda, which is said to bring misfortune to any of the owner.

She will be rolling dice for herself to determine outcomes of situations which require a skill.

These dice outcomes effect only Viz, and continue to effect her until her HP runs out.

If her HP dips below zero, she is burnt and has to leave the thread to seek medical attention.

She MUST roll in every post, until she can offload the amulet.

Rolls are based on Trait Stats HERE
