The Heir
The Force Shadow drifted through space, invisible to sight as it traveled to its query. If it could show emotion, its eyes would have widened at the sight before it, Dromund Kaas, the ocean-blue world with white streaks running through it. One of the most well-known and greatest of Sith Worlds, an easy rival to Korriban. The capital of the Old Sith Empire, and one of the capitals of the former Sith Empire. It was once a Sith lake, a place where no others could even consider breaching, but now, held by the fools of the Light, it has to cross both Imperial and Alliance space to even reach it from Sith space. A truly sad fate for the once-great Dromund Kaas. He had spent his childhood here, him and Vita both, if his parent's words were to be believed, Bastion, Dromund Kaas, and Jutrand, those were the homes of his youth, only one remained accessible to him now. That need not be strictly the case, as his Shadow gazed upon the world, would it not be so easy to make a trip onto the planet? It was right there, and after all, they had been, was it only a small risk to attempt to see where they had all come from? He had landed on Korriban once, nearly a year ago, after all.
Maybe if it was him alone, what was the risk if it was only him? But, it was not only him, he had a crew assembled with him, kin, friends, and allies he would not risk any of the others that had ventured here with them, especially, as they had done it for his desires. Sure, they hoped for a reward along the way, something to pique their own ambitions and interests, but at the end of the day, this mission was for his obsession, for his goals and his ambition, let him give them some release.
The Force Shadow turned away its gaze from the planet and moved away to one of the moons, as far as Malum's research had gone, it seemed strangely the moons had never been named. But coming up to the rocky outcrop, he knew he had found his objective. It was fortunate that the Shadow could not cry, for Malum certainly wished to. A once great Sith Temple, utterly destroyed, it seemed they had fallen short of an orbital bombardment, but from the looks that had been barely a blessing, materials littered about, and it looked barely a structure. Soldiers, "Crusaders" would have to personally have made the trip to tear this holiest and sanctitious place, leaving only the foundations.
Thankfully, even if it felt morbid to be thankful for it, the foundations were all that he needed. Malum's eyes shifted back to his own, the Shadow's becoming passive, as he felt the vial of ashes on his amulet begin to warm. It had only been a theory, an idea at most, but it seemed now that it was true. The ashes had some sort of property to them, properties somehow linked to the Holocron, and perhaps other artifacts. He felt again the same flow of gratitude to Darth Empyrean, this was truly a worthy boon and worth the fear and worry that he had to overcome to gain the ashes.
He turned to face his compatriots, the tall serious face of his brother, Vita, who had joined them after Saijo, alongside the much much shorter, Quintessa. His cousin Trayze was also among them cracking wise, doing his utmost to keep morale high, a matter that Malum was thoroughly unprepared for. There was also Sicarius, alongside her master, Darth Angonous, both evidently having a strong past, which he still held slight reservations on, if it came to it, they would be the betrayers. Finally, though not presently among us, was Omon Kaa, flying another fighter, and through which transmissions between the ships were open, to allow constant communication if need be. This was the crew he had gathered, and the people he would risk his life to, he hoped that none of this was a mistake.
"The temple's foundations still exist on the moon, one more jump, and we will be at Dromund Kaas, one more jump, and the quest shall be accomplished. I have not seen any enemy activity that would be abnormal, so I would say we are still undetected, but every minute after jumping in, is another risk we will be caught. Thus, the plan, after jumping into the system, we will move onto the moons, if there is anyone there we shall eliminate them, and then investigate the temple. As soon as we have the Holocron, we shall make our way back to Sith Space. Any objections?" It was a rather simple plan, but simple worked for the most part he found, and with a group as large and diverse as this, perhaps it would be best, complexity was asking for mistakes.
