- Cutting Power - Very nearly the match of a lightsaber, the FAE/M-02’s ultrasonic vibration generator, monomolecular edge, and energy cord give the weapon superb cutting power, allowing it to feasibly rip through materials equivalent to impervium in strength. Most, if not at all infantry-grade armors are of little hindrance to the blade.
- Reach - While the FAE/M-02’s reach does that match that of a standard-length lightsaber or sword, it is long for a knuckle plate vibro blade. All things equal, the blade can stand against a longer weapon in a pinch, though it is not appropriate as a primary armament.
- Lightsaber Resistance - Albeit a standard feature of most, if not all late vibroweapon technologies given the propagation of Force Users in the modern era, the FAE/M-02 is resistant to contact with lightsabers and is capable of retaining its integrity against such weaponry over long periods, owing to its resilient construction and the Svolten Rhyolite protecting the edges.
- Mechu-deru - Often an unspoken weakness of any advanced technology, the vibroblade and its supporting systems are vulnerable to the dark sorceries of Mechu-deru and other technology-corrupting powers. As such, a skilled practitioner of such arts can quickly disable the vibroblade’s systems to render it little more than a standard short sword or even prevent the blade from being unsheathed entirely.
- Energy Shields - Many types of particle-based energy shields, both common and exotic, are capable of blocking the blade in its entirety. Ray, molecular, and Xythan Force shields are generally the least effective, but even they will disperse the energy from the monomolecular energy cord.
- Surge - Disabling either the ultrasonic vibration generator or the energy cords will dampen the vibroblade’s cutting power. This can be done through any number of ways.
Taking after the company’s previous vibroblade design, the FAE/M-01 “Scherezade” Energized Vibroblade, the FAE/M-02 utilizes much of the same technologies, integrated into a gauntlet-mounted weapon. Just as effective as a last-ditch weapon against a lightsaber-wielder as it is a hidden blade for assassins, the FAE/M-02 is a powerful, resilient, and versatile weapon. While not a match for a full-length sword, its length affords it a small degree of sparring capability, while its light weight keeps it maneuverable for quick slashes in close-quarters. Finally, like the Scherezade, the FAE/M-02 retains a powerful cutting capability, allowing it to potentially rip through all but the most heavily-armed infantry and even the hulls of some light vehicles.
All in all, the FAE/M-02 is a next-generation melee weapon, a life saver just as much as it is a life taker.
