The House of Voss, was said to have been descended from one of the Tyrants of Tygeria himself, and Ethis had always believed that. His family tree was quite an interesting one, one that he himself, never truly understood. His father, a well known noble of Alderaan, Lord Jace Voss, and his mother, Lady Sienna Astcol of Vengard, had two completely different families. Growing up on Alderaan, he was taught the basics of being a noble, as it was his fathers hope that he would continue the great House of Voss one day. Of course, his mother had different hopes. She had wished for him to join the Eternal Empire, and take a political office in Vengard or Tygeria, her ancestral home. Both paths were promising, though in the end, it was his fathers which he pursued.
He didn't get far though, as when he turned 9, it was revealed he was force sensitive. His father had always adored the Jedi, and wanted him to become one of them, how exciting it was, a member of his house protecting the galaxy. With this, so many opportunities presented itself. Marcus in the end join the Silver Jedi Order as a child. He trained for years under the force, but when it was time for him to take on a master, he left the Order. Much to the disapproval of his family, he joined The Empire, becoming an initiate in the order of Imperial Knights and taking up training within the Imperial Security Bureau. He trained on Adumar, in the ways of the Inquisition, trained to hunt and destroy foes of the Empire.
Studying from the texts of great Sith and Jedi, Marcus's knowledge of the force has only expanded. Using a rather force reliant fighting technique, it was quite unusual. With the use of 3 lightsabers, he would use the force as an extension of himself, quite literally, similar to that of an arm. Whilst this did not work in close quarters, Marcus grew to master the technique, and is known as a skilled duelist.
Once he had completed his training and had fully joined the ranks of the Knights, he recruited men from his Household guard, to further add on to his fathers disapproval, to form the legion of "The Black Cloaks," a legion of skilled operatives to serve at the Empire's bidding, or whomever Marcus served.
Marcus grew to gain an interest in beasts of all sorts, specifically force sensitives beasts.
