- Starfighter Eradication: The Terrus-class is able to deal massive amounts of damage to starfighters, able to close down entire areas of space with its powerful point defense weaponry.
- Defenses: Able to take a beating, the Terrus-class is designed to be able to whether anti-orbital weaponry, and several defensive measures make the ship a tough shell to crack.

General Terrus was a tactician of renown in the ancient Confederacy, famous for his defensive tactics that utilized the individuality of the battle droids and other units under his command. It was through his leadership that many battles against the Republic were turned into stark victories for the Confederacy, turning around many campaigns that attempted to assert control over sovereign Separatist space. Although most accounts of him have been lost to time, most notably and ironically being his first name, Terrus is not forgotten by those who live in the Confederacy today. And so, the Terrus-class Flak Corvette aims to fulfill General Terrus's legacy by employing those same defensive tactics that the Koorivan used in battles bygone.
The Terrus-class is most aptly described as an anti-fighter corvette; that is definitely the truth of it, as the bulk of the corvette's armament is devoted towards point defenses. The bulk of these point defenses are RMAF-M9 Accelerated Flak Cannons, which are able to launch proximity detonation shells at frightening speeds that deal high amounts of damage to enemy fighters. The effect of the RMAF-M9 is so great that the Terrus is able to effectively create a bubble of space in which it is extremely lethal for a fighter to venture into. However, the anti-fighter design philosophy results in the corvette being unable to effectively match up against other capital ships, meaning that it requires a complement of heavy-hitting capital ships to be viable in a fleet. Altogether, the Terrus-class is an extremely effective and potent corvette that will no doubt be the basis of any point-defense formation.
