Private Take a Breath

TREXTAN

He noticed it the moment her fingers slid into his hair. The quiet pressure at the nape of his neck sent a familiar spark through him, a reminder of moments when restraint had been harder to keep. Their world had narrowed to baited breaths and heated touch alone.

This time he did not chase it. He let it stay as a simmering warmth, not a fire burning out of control.

His hand stayed firm at her side. Solid. When the kiss deepened, he met it slowly, letting it build the way she did.

Her grip tightened slightly. A small, involuntary sound rose from the back of his throat. Force, he liked that.

He rested his forehead against hers when he finally pulled back. His breath came out in a small stutter over her lips. He felt the warmth of her breath back.

“I forgot just how much I like you playing with my hair," he sighed.

One hand remained on her far side. The other arm wrapped loosely around her middle. He moved his head back just enough that he could study her face and the colour of her eyes.

Choli's lips curved into a faint smile at his words. So much time had passed but some things still felt familiar in a way that settled her instead of overwhelming her.

She didn't pull away. Instead, her fingers stayed in his hair, gentler now, her thumb brushing lightly at his nape.

"Yeah,"
she murmured. "That part didn't change."

The kiss that followed was unhurried but with a bit more passion in it, reminding her a bit of the past as much as what it now felt to be within Trextan's arms. Broader in shoulders and chest, the strength in his arms that had grown. When she drew back it was only enough to look at him properly. His hand at her side felt steady. Safe.

"I like this,"
she admitted quietly. "Not rushing. Just… seeing what's still here."

Her eyes searched his, curious rather than guarded.

"Guess we'll find out what stayed the same,"
she added, voice soft with promise, "and what's different now."

She leaned in again, pressing a slow, deliberate kiss to his mouth, letting the moment stretch and breathe exactly the way they hadn't before, and this time her arms wrapped around his shoulders just that much tighter.

TREXTAN

Trextan felt the subtle shift in her as she leaned into him, the way her fingers anchored at his collar and then threaded into his hair. It sent a quiet thrill through him.

It settled low and warm rather than urgent. He kept the kiss slow, savouring the softness of her mouth against his, the faint taste of caf still lingering there.

Rather than stop to grab a seat of his own, those strong arms urged her to her feet with him. It was more comfortable standing facing one another anyway.

His hand at her side slid a fraction higher, thumb tracing a gentle circle over the fabric of her shirt just beneath her ribs. Simply holding her closer while the other hand cupped the back of her neck, fingers brushing the fine hairs there. He tilted his head the other way, deepening the kiss a little further, letting the heat build in steady degrees until his pulse thrummed heavily in his ears.

When he finally drew back a breath, it was only far enough to rest his forehead against hers. His eyes stayed half-closed, dark and fixed on her face.

"I wanted to do that properly," he murmured, voice low and rough at the edges. His thumb stroked along her jaw, a small, absent caress.

"Nothing rushed or in the dark or drunk. Just at our pace in the light."

He let the silence linger for a moment, breathing her in, before he brushed his lips against hers again. Lighter this time, teasing, as his hand drifted down to settle at the small of her back and pull her gently flush against him. They could feel the differences between one another and how they had changed. The parts and tools scattered across the table were forgotten entirely now. The hand at the small of her back worked down, exploring the way she had filled out, her build still lean and muscular.

Not wanting things a rushed blur in the dark, was not the same as wanting everything to be gentle. He wanted to commit every touch to memory, every broken breath from him moving hard as their exploration continued.

"Tell me if it is too much," he said quietly, though the way his body responded to her nearness made the words come out huskier than he intended. "Or if you want more."

Choli stayed where she was, close enough that leaving would have felt like a lie. Her hands were still in his hair, fingers threading and flexing with intention, not urgency. Each touch was a choice. Each second lingered because she wanted it to.

She kissed him again, slow and patient, the kind of kiss that carried weight without asking for more than the moment itself. Her body leaned into his, not tentative, not rushing. Just present. The warmth between them built quietly, a steady pull that settled low and sure.

That deepening indigo stared up at Trextan as she drew back just enough to look at him. Really look at him.

"This is good," she said softly. "This pace."

Her palm rested against his chest, feeling the strength there, the calm beneath it despite the quickening of his heartbeat. When she leaned in again, the kiss was unhurried, indulgent. Familiar in a way that felt earned now. Her thumb traced along his jaw, a subtle promise rather than a demand.

She fit against him differently than she used to. More certain. More aware. Not trying to prove anything. Just choosing to stay.

When she finally rested her forehead against his, her breath eased out, quiet but steady. The tension between them did not break but hummed, alive and sparking with increasing desire that wasn't fueled by fumblings hands but sure intent.

They were older now. Wiser. And the way she held him made it clear that she knew exactly what she was doing.

This was not the rush of before. But intention. The sort that said she didn't want to stop, but was also choosing to rein herself in and simply enjoy.

"More," came her whisper, as her soft curves pressed against the firmness of his body and accepted him as he was.

And with that, she deepened the kiss, a soft sound of approval humming in the back of her throat as she left everything else forgotten save for this very moment with him.
