DESCRIPTION

The Chain Breaker was designed as a way to combat against slaving collars and implants during rescues/raids. Often these collars restrict where the slave can go, and in some cases may be rigged to explode if they fall outside of a certain coordinate range. In an effort to make missions run smoother, the Chain Breaker was developed to easily remove or deactivate hindering devices. The Chain Breaker works by passing the flat edge over the target area—collar, tracking chip, etc.—and works to decrypt and deactivate said target. A 9cm (~3.5”) durasteel flip knife is embedded into the side of the Chain Breaker with the intention of physically removing collars and other restraints. While it can be used for combat if necessary, it is advised not to given that the electrical components of the Chain Breaker can be damaged. The overall length of the item is ~15cm (6”) and the width is ~3.3cm (1.3”)

The Chain Breaker can deactivate most suppression and tracking devices, leaving it to be potentially abused should it fall into the wrong hands. Thus, the Chain Breaker’s use is generally restricted to trustworthy personnel of Heartbeat House and allies. The Chain Breaker can deactivate up to 10 devices before it must go through a 6 hour recharge period.

Difficult to obtain
Can be abused by those with criminal intent

Would you be able to flesh out the weaknesses? The difficult to obtain would be a natural extension of being semi-unique, and being abused for criminal actions could be widely applied as well.

Possible weaknesses could be a reset time between deactivations, or a number of deactivations before requiring recharging.
