  • Electromagnetic Control: An ECM array allows the Sythra-class to exert influence over the electromagnetic environment in a given battlespace, giving the craft a range of capabilities that add additional utility.
  • Amphibian: The life support systems, electromotive field motors, and hydrostatic fields allow the Sythra to traverse underwater and remain submerged for an indefinite period of time. In a pinch, this function could be used to hide from pursuing enemy forces or even to initiate a surprise attack!
  • Dancer: The Sythra-class is quite balletic and maneuverable in flight, demonstrating dazzling agility that allows a skilled pilot to evade incoming fire and missiles with deft ease.
  • Omni-Spectral Deception Profile: The Sythra-class employs a comprehensive multi-layered low-observability suite that synergizes passive and active deception systems. The Skuggalegt undercoat provides baseline radar-absorbent and sensor-diffusing properties, while the BACS-X89i adaptive camouflage overlay blends the craft visually and thermally with its environment. The Glamour refraction field and Gravitic Lensing Array then create active sensor manipulation across electromagnetic, thermal, and gravitic spectra. Together, these systems dramatically reduce detection range, disrupt targeting locks, and create false signatures that force enemies to rely on degraded visual tracking, making the Sythra exceptionally difficult to acquire and engage.
  • Zoom: The Sythra-class is incredibly fast, allowing the craft to engage targets via hit-and-fade tactics. Pilots flying the Sythra can strike just as quickly as they can retreat.

  • Automation: The Sythra is supported by a suite of automated processes which govern its targeting systems, power systems, flight control systems, and yet more. In the event that these systems are somehow disabled, whether via EMP/Ion discharge, concentrated slicing, or in rare cases, jamming, the operating efficiency of the craft will be negatively affected.
  • Sensitive Passive Sensors: The passive sensor array on the hull of the Sythra-class is an extreme boon to the pilot’s battlespace awareness, especially in conditions where the use of active sensors may reveal the craft’s location. However, they are also very vulnerable, as even glancing blows can destroy or disable the sensors on or around the affected areas. In essence, as the hull takes more hits, the Spyglass’ passive reception array will become increasingly ineffective.
  • Straight and Narrow: The SLAM Mk. II provides a significant boost to speed and acceleration, but it compromises maneuverability while active.

Christened after a notably swift prey avian on Korriban, the Sythra-class Ultralight Starfighter-Interceptor is a light starfighter-interceptor designed by First United Astral Engineering and manufactured for the Kainate and the Sith Order. Developed to fill the need for a light interceptor platform, The craft’s small size and speed fits it aptly in this role. However, it is also capable of performing as a starfighter, due to its shields and optional underwing missiles.

The Mk. II version of the Sythra-class utilizes a chassis that is redesigned from the ground up, taking the shape of a flying wing. The craft mounts four light cannons in its mid-span wing fair blister fairings, which can be light autocannons, beam cannons, or scattercannons. Its missiles are mounted in external underwing hardpoints, which allow the craft to carry up to eight lightweight missiles.

The updated version of the Sythra is fitted with a bevy of new and upgraded systems. This includes new coaxium-pulse detonation engines to replace to old ion engines, two new powerplants, upgraded ECM and sensory deception systems, a new Prism Core droid brain computer system, and a tractor-pressor suite that can dynamically alter the airflow around the craft. With these capabilities, the Sythra Mk. II is anticipated to enjoy vastly better performance across virtually all metrics than its predecessor.

For its defenses and countermeasures, the Sythra-class has a polarized solar ray energy shield, desh-terenthium and carbo-plas hull plating, and a full suite of countermeasures to provide defense against targeting systems and incoming warheads.

All in all, the Sythra-class Mk. II is designed not just to fill a gap in the starfighter fleet of the Kainate and the Sith Order, but also to advance their capabilities in starfighter combat. Lessons learned from Woostri and other battlespaces in regards to the dominance of Alliance starfighter aces convinced the Sith of the need to invest in more advanced platforms and training for Sith pilots, with a higher emphasis on survivability so as to retain experienced pilots. The Sythra Mk. II is a product of this mindset, and is ultimately hoped to considerably improve the performance of Sith starfighter formations.
