STRENGTHS
  • Brawler: The TIE/F Fury possesses an exceptionally heavy armament for a vessel of its size, including a pair of heavy laser cannons, four ion cannons and a whopping eight missile launchers
  • Brute: The TIE/F Fury's Molecular Shielding System gives the starcraft inredible survivability as long as its shields remain active, though it is also fairly heavily armored
  • High performing: For a craft of its size and weight, the TIE/F is quite nimble and fast moving, and can increase its performance through the use of its SLAM or PIMS subsystems
  • Targeting vectors: The TIE/F's ion cannons are vectored cannons, and can pivot upwards or downwards up to 180 degrees in each direction
  • Upgraded: Each TIE/F comes equipped with a host of B.A.M.T.O.P upgrades, enhancing the starcraft's already impressive capabilities even further
  • Droid assistance: The TIE/F is equipped with a MGK-300 Integrated Droid Brain and Intellex Ship-Configuration Computer, making it somewhat easier for its pilot to fly and operate
WEAKNESSES
  • Brawler: The TIE/F Fury is highly specialized toward offense, and does not possess any sort of electronic countermeasure systems outside its Missile Deactivation Transmitters
  • Skill issue: Even with its onboard droid brain, the TIE/F Fury is still a demanding and difficult starfighter to fly, making it suitable for only the most skilled and experienced pilots
  • BOOM: Should the reactor systems of the TIE/F Fury be damaged in any way, the ship will violently explode, all but guaranteeing its complete and total destruction
  • EMP/ION: Like many contemporary starfighters, the TIE/F is especially vulnerable to EMP and ION based attacks, though its molecular shielding somewhat mitigates this
  • Expensive: Like many of the more specialized Mahporeenian starfighters, the TIE/F is incredibly expensive and time consuming to produce, greatly limiting its total availability
  • Performance anxiety: The TIE/F cannot activate SLAM and PIMS at the same time, forcing its pilot to choose better speed or maneuverability
DESCRIPTION

During the Imperial Remnant's war against the Wild Space Rebellion, enemy missile boats were especially problematic for Imperial forces to deal with, necessitating the creation of a starfighter that could quickly disable or destroy them before they had a chance to fire off their payload of missiles. The Imperial Remnant came up with the heavily armed and armored TIE/F Fury as its solution to this problem.

Each TIE/F Fury is armed with a plethora of weapons to allow the craft to successfully engage enemy targets, including a pair of enhanced heavy laser cannons, four vectored ion cannons and a whopping eight missile launchers. The idea behind this armament is that it allows the TIE/F Fury to engage multiple craft at once from different directions, disabling anything it cannot outright destroy with its impressive armament.

To ensure that the TIE/F Fury survives long enough to do this, each craft is equipped with both Particle Shields and Molecular Shielding, giving the starfighter an incredible amount of survivability as long as its shields are active. Even if its shields are disabled, the TIE/F Fury is still heavily armored, though it is prone to exploding spectacularly should its reactors be damaged in any way.

Of course, the defeat of the Wild Space Rebellion has rendered the existence of the TIE/F Fury somewhat moot, as rebel missile boats have become far less common than they were previously. Nonetheless, such an impressive piece of engineering and Imperial design is sure to serve the Imperial Remnant well for years to come, and will undoubtedly have new, unintended opponents to face off against in the future...

STRENGTHS
  • Sniper: The FAE/SW-12 Sniper Laser Cannons and NZ IPC-1 Ion Pulse Cannons installed aboard the Shadow Interceptor have a rather large effective firing range, allowing them to engage targets at great distances
  • Close combat: In the event that the Shadow Interceptor is engaged in close quarters combat, it can respond with its twin FAE/SW-02 "Blush" Laser Cannons
  • Stealthy: With each Shadow Interceptor being coated in Reflect, it can be rather difficult for enemy sensors to detect the ship, allowing it to ambush targets from long range
  • Small: The Shadow Interceptor is a rather small ship, making it harder for enemy starfighters and ground based defenses to hit
  • Automated: Each Shadow Interceptor is equipped with a droid brain and astromech socket, making the ship much easier to pilot
WEAKNESSES
  • Specialized: Though it can engage targets at close to mid range, the Shadow Interceptor is more specialized toward long distance sniper duels
  • Fragile: Shadow Interceptors possess relatively light armor, and are easily destroyed once their energy shields fail
  • No ordinance: Though powerful, the Shadow Interceptor does not possess any ordinance launchers or way to fire missiles
  • Expensive: Shadow Interceptors are incredibly expensive to modify and produce, greatly limiting their overall availability for anyone wanting to fly one
  • Demanding: Though equipped with an astromech socket and droid brain, the Shadow Interceptor can still be difficult to pilot and operate, especially when trying to "snipe" enemy targets
DESCRIPTION

During the Second Battle of Brosi, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant experienced firsthand the power of "sniper" style starfighters, having lost several valuable Hyper-Jammers to Sith laser cannon fire. This caused the Imperial Remnant to contract First United Astral Engineering into allowing them to produce FAE/TIE Series "Aetherstrike" Starfighters under license while also developing indigenous designs of their own, with the first such examples being the Shadow Interceptor.

Much like the Aetherstrike, the Shadow Interceptor is configured as a long range sniper platform, sporting a pair of Dornean Plasma enhanced FAE/SW-12 Sniper Laser Cannons v1.1, along with a complimentary pair of NZ IPC-1 Ion Pulse Cannons, allowing the starfighter to engage targets at great distances. Should the Shadow Interceptor's primary weapons require recharging or reloading, or should the starfighter find itself ambushed at close range, it can respond to any threats with its four FAE/SW-02 "Blush" Laser Cannons, though the craft performs best from a distance.

Unlike the Aetherstrike, the Shadow Interceptor is covered in Reflec Coating, which makes it difficult for the starcraft to be detected by enemy scanners and sensors. This allows the Shadow Interceptor to "ambush" targets before moving to a different position, making it difficult for enemy ships to respond to its attacks. Of course, piloting and operating such a ship is difficult even with its Droid Brain and Astromech Socket, ensuring that the Shadow Interceptor can only really be flown by the most elite of pilots.

One such pilot is Tyrant 1 Tyrant 1 , who was given a Shadow Interceptor by the Imperial Remnant in exchange for him agreeing to train the next generation of "sniper" pilots. Between his skills, combat experience and ability leading a starfighter squadron, it is hoped that Tyrant 1 Tyrant 1 will be able to create a dangerous starfighter squadron of long ranged marksmen who can get the most out of their starfighter and the weapons that it comes equipped with.
