  • A Distributed Network: Tumbler is designed with a distributed computing environment in mind, no one in the galaxy uses just one device anymore but will have a range of computing devices they use in their everyday life. From their starship to a speeder, comm to smart home hub TumblerOS is designed with scalability in mind to be able to run all these devices and connect them into a personalized network.
    • Computing to benefit you: By enabling communication between all the devices that encompass your personal ecosystem TumblerOS allows them to support you better. Activating and preparing for your arrival or to match the elements of your day, a speeder starting as you approach it, a house turning on the lights and heating as you’re arriving home, or something as simple as switching music or a call from one device to another TumblerOS is designed to make its user’s life easier.
  • AI Learning: Built into the very core of Tumbler is a learning Artificial Intelligence which provides the operating system with its unique advantages. Unlike Locke and Key’s previous assistant, the Navi, which was merely an intelligent programming algorithm tacked onto an operating system the TumblrOS Operating system incorporates AI learning capabilities into the very heart of its programming. This allows TumblrOS several advantages:
    • Personalization: The TumblrOS is able to learn each user’s preferences and workflow allowing it to better optimize itself for each user providing a smoother personal experience. Rather than the one-size-fits-all-all experience that some operating systems provide, Tumblr is able to adapt itself to the user altering not just the colour scheme but the flow and style of the user interface to best suit each specific user.
    • Prediction: By utilizing contextual clues, as well as the user’s history and habits the Tumblr OS can provide suggestions and anticipate user actions providing them with information, apps and possible courses of action before being asked. It can also predict usage patterns and adjust the UI and the system resources accordingly optimizing the user’s interaction with the system to provide the smoothest and easiest experience. Furthermore, the OS can learn its user's phrasing and ideology, predicting the text of messages they will write, or able to send a convincing message on their behalf.
    • User Interface: The AI at the core of the Tumblr OS is able to provide the user with a more natural interaction. Not only will it adapt the user interface to one that suits the user's preferences and idiosyncrasies but at the same time it can engage the user in a natural feeling conversation, receiving instruction and clarifying details as well as providing answers or confirmations in a natural manner, as if you were talking to an organic assistant.
  • Security: The Tumbler OS comes with Locke and Key’s signature Padlocke Cyber Security package integrated into the operation system as standard. This cybersecurity package was designed to provide a military-grade level of protection to Locke and Key products, protecting against both hackers and force users utilising Mecha Deru. A constantly updated database of viruses and threats paired with the AI’s ability to react in real-time provides Tumbler with one of the most robust and capable security setups in the galaxy.
  • Natural Interface: Thanks to the AI integrated into its systems the operating system is able to react to a variety of interactions. From voice commands to hand gestures and to commands typed out on a keyboard, you are able to find the means of communication that feels the most natural to you.
  • Containerization: Given its emphasis on linking devices and electronics into a personal ecosystem it is important to create processes and apps that can easily be accessed quickly. Tumbler can create virtual containers in which apps can be processed, allowing a program to be run with precisely the amount of power that they need to run. These containers can be run in local computing architecture, or on a cloud, allowing them to be accessed wherever needed and allowing less powerful computing devices to complete processes that they normally wouldn’t be able to.
  • Efficiency: Between the AI and the containerization protocols in place in the operating system Tumbler is able to maximise the potential of its resources, both computing power and battery life.
  • Compatibility: Not every computer out there will run Tumbler, not every system would be part of the ecosystem that Locke and Key Mechanics were trying to build. To this end, the Tumbler OS has an app that will allow the data stored in its devices to be accessed by other operating systems. It also can connect to other technology and operating systems, though the integration into the ecosystem isn’t as complete as if they were running Tumbler themselves.
  • The Ecosystem: The Tumbler operating system is built around the concept of building an ecosystem for each user made up of all their data and devices. A user will be able to access their data from any device they log in on seamlessly, as well as providing a degree of remote control.
