- Highly Adaptable: This Artificial Intelligence is positioned between the ZEUS MK II and the KRONOS units in terms of adaptability, allowing for it to react to unforseen circumstances with greater effect and to memorize such events in greater capacity than the lower class ZEUS Mk II cores.
- Induction Datatransfer: Utilizing the principle of magnetism to transfer data rather than pure electronic transfer makes this a much safer option for sensitive information and security meassures, as there are hardly any specialized slicers nor the equipment to hack or corrupt through this kind of datatransfer.
- Personality Imprint: Rather than simply programming an artificial personality into the AI, they can be programmed to make a neural link upon first activation to scan and imprint the original user's actual personality into them, though this can't be changed later on except by wwhiping the core in its entirity.
- Champion of Corruption: Though it is tough to slice or hack this droid core or AI, it isn't the same the way around, as the fact that it can either opt for a direct take over by seperating part of its core into another system or by bombarding other systems through elecromagnetism, makes it much more powerful to take over systems of lesser quality and capacity. This allows the ATLAS to effectively and efficiently manipulate and enslave any number of ZEUS and ZEUS Mk II droid cores within a vicinity of 50 km with relative ease.
- Extremely efficient: A single Unit is capable of efficiently running all programs and all systems within an entire base or ship without a single hitch, making this one of the most reliable and efficient droid cores and AI currently on the market.
- Extremely programmable: From highly intelligent protocol or tactical droids to extremely efficient class 4 and 5 droids, this droid core and AI system is capable to be programmed with extensive knowledge on any subject relevant for its task, with further enhancement possible through neural linking and personality imprints similar to the KRONOS Unit.
- Enigma: Due to its set up as a droid core utilising Induction as its main way of transferring data, this AI can effectively circumvent most sensors and slicing equipment, making this a perfect tool for military use, internal security and more, guaranteeing safety and security to any intel and sensitive information it transmits.
- EMP protection: Unlike most droid cores and AI, this droid core has a rather high resistance against EMP based attacks, as it generates its own Electromagnetic field and as standard has a protective casing designed against EMP and radiation.
- Poisonous materials: Should this core be damaged, it has to be handled with care, as it contains Infinium 01458, which is a highly poisonous and deadly alloy. One of the reasons why an explosion in the vicinity of this core should be avoided at all costs, as the vapors themselves of this material are extremely dangerous when inhaled and can cause death if not treated properly in a short window of time.
- Protocols take presedence: Unlike many if not most AI and Droid cores, the ATLAS follows direct protocols and will thus determine a person's value based on their value towards the owner of the unit. This means that its actions may end up killing a lot of people in emergency situations when it is deemed they are of lesser value to the goal of the unit's controller. It is thus advised to handle ATLAS units with care and to not provoke it into action, for through its ruthless logic, it has no regard for the sanctity of life.
- Dangerously adaptable: Though this only counts when a personality imprint has been initiated, because of that, the ATLAS will have a sense of self similar to the original person's psyche, thus also following similar behavioral patterns, which in some cases may turn out disastrous if the AI has adapted and evolved beyond the capacity of the original personality, for the results, see - "Protocols take presedence"
- EMP: Though it has an EMP resistance of a consistant High rating, this type of weaponry still remains the favored tool to be used against the ATLAS droid core, as when an EMP is stronger than the innate electromagnetic field of the ATLAS Unit, the end result will be the same as what happens to any commonplace droid core.
The ATLAS Unit is an Artificial Intelligence designed to fit snugly between the more basic ZEUS Mk II droid core and the extremely adaptable and evolution oriented KRONOS units. The initial desire for the N&Z Umbrella Corporation was to create a highly intelligent and adaptable unit which would be cheaper to produce than the immensely expensive KRONOS Units, which utilize the extremely hard to produce and thus extremely rare Infinium 1278 variety of the well known Infinium alloy. With the parameters set up in such a way that the ATLAS unit needs to have all the capabilities of the KRONOS unit but in a slightly lesser capacity, the engineers got to work, utilizing this harrowing assignment to truly flex the technological strength of the company.
The build up was relatively simple, as the engineers went on to use the basic mock up from the ZEUS Mk II unit, adding in certain elements such as the ersteel 1333 connection and transfer rods, the higher electromagnetical current through the electrum spools and the electromagnet, utilizing internal gabonna memory crystals and an ultrasonic generator to act as a meassurement to maintain vibration within the semi liquid core of the AI, to allow faster, better and more efficient datatransfer. To protect the core of this unit, the use of the rather new Infinium 013158 was implemented in the form of a protective casing around the unstable core.
To truly make sure that this unit has comparable capacity to a KRONOS unit, it has been augmented with integrated Proton Mk I auxiliary droid brains to aid with its data processing, as well as to increase it's data storage capacity and multitasking capabilities, thus creating a unit capable of running entire ships and factories of unprecedented scale with relative ease.
