STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Strengths:

Felacatian Abilities: Due to their feline evolution, Felacatians possess hyperdeveloped senses, perfect balance, nightvision, and very quick reflexes and speed. Their tails are sensitive to atmospheric changes. Additionally, as a polymorphic race, the Felacatians possess an alternative form of a huge predatory cat which appears under moments of great stress. This form possessed embedded layers of protective spines, claws that can carve through durasteel, frightening strength, unnatural speed, and incredible sensory perception.

Warrior's Training: Due to being an heiress of one of the warlords on Weik, Raiya has undergone significant training in the matter of combat. The position of warlord is determined by strength within her tribe and despite her reluctance to inherit the position, she was nurtured under such immense pressure to duel with her siblings that this knowledge became second nature to her.

Trade's Guild Apprentice: Having freed herself from the leash of succession (at least temporarily) in her escape, Rayia possesses an intense love for the forge. Watching sparks dance before her eyes brought a sense of elation that was only overcome by the immense sense of satisfaction upon the completion of any pieces which she crafts. Never before had she created something with her hands with the intention of helping or providing others in need with as solution. Upon learning of the Trades Guild, Rayia aims to become an apprentice to one of the smiths there.

Weaknesses:

Inner Monster: Rayia's Felacatian heritage comes with benefits, but also an insidious curse. At moments of great stress without respite, she undergoes a transformation into a dangerous, predatory cat-like form. This second form's instincts focus solely on self-preservation and as a result can be rather dangerous to anyone else present at the time of the change. Furthermore, Rayia experiences a blackout during these moments and cannot recall what occurs during them. This form can eventually be brought under control, to where the Felacatian can control when they shift, and refrain from shifting if necessary, but Rayia's culture was rather focused on unfettering their wild side and as a result progress is slow. This form also gives Rayia a distinct force signature.

Secrets: Furthermore, in adding to the difficulty, Rayia keeps several secrets close to the heart. This makes seeking someone out about controlling her second form rather difficult amongst other things besides.

Foreigner: Rayia came from a different continent and culture than that commonly found in Vossport. As a result, she has certain perceptions of events and gestures that differs from someone naturally attuned to the goings on of the culture there. Additionally, she makes certain faux-pas that others would not in fact make.

Technologically-Inept: Technology on Weik is below what might be considered Galactic Standard, and what technology they have is mostly focused on providing their necessities. As a result, Rayia's understanding of technology might be considered primitive in comparison to the rest of the galaxy.

Wind-Ships: For some reason, Rayia has a really bad feeling about these and will stray away from ever setting foot on one.

APPEARANCE:
Rayia stands at 5'3", and possesses a toned, athletic form from her constant combat training. Her golden eyes are usually somber and reserved, though a twinkle of curiosity can be seen. Rayia possesses several feline characteristics, such as her nose, ears, teeth, and hands which distinctly differentiate her from other Near Humans. Her skin is olive, and simultaneously possesses several stripes of bright auburn/orange fur similar to her hair, noticeable scarring and tattoos symbolizing her heritage and tribe. Her most prominent scar is the scarring upon her shoulder which appears to have been raked by some large predator (in actuality, this was done by her mother as punishment for disobeying her during a hunt and allowing that week's food supply to escape).

BIOGRAPHY:
During the early days of the Galactic Republic, a ship carrying the Third Princess of Felacat, Serin Wyrni was ambushed by a pirate fleet within Wild Space above Weik. The ship was making one of its customary realspace stops to allow the Felacatians to adjust to the long journey ahead of them. Unprepared for the sudden appearance of the pirates and already enduring a lot of stress from bottling up their panic in hyperspace, the Felacatian crew underwent the transformation into their more feral forms. The feral Felacatians dealt considerable damage to both the pirates and the interlocked ships, their claws scouring jagged gashes in the frame. During the scuffle, the ship that they were on crashed through the planet's atmosphere and into the planet's surface. When the Felacatians awoke, the survivors hauled their dead crew-members from the ship. Holding a mourning ceremony to honor their dead, the Felacatians found themselves stranded on a new world.

The Felacatians struggled to survive, but eventually adapted to the life on the new planet. Organizing themselves in a loose, nomadic tribe that answered to the Felacatian royalty, the Felacatians hunted amidst the plains that consisted of much of the continent upon which they landed. They developed skills of taming wild horse-like beings and horse archery. Over time, the Felacatians developed their own system of hierarchy, with the successor to the Feral Queen (as she was titled) being determined by the strongest amongst her children. Several hundred years later, Matriarch Nemea Asai (the fifty seventh Feral Queen) gave birth to Rayia Asai, and her siblings, Huiele, Riona, and Niela.

Rayia was raised with the expectation of eventually fighting her siblings for control of the tribe. That changed one day when a wind-ship from a different continent appeared lazily sailing up the river. Upon spotting their tribe camped out near the river, the strangers hailed them. The wind ship's crew served a Trade Guild Member, within the "Council" of Vossport. They appealed to Nemea with the possibility of trade relations between their tribe and the capital of Vossport. More importantly for Rayia, the wind ship provided an opportunity for new adventures and a means out of succession. Rayia did not wish to fight her siblings, and was willing to simply step down. However tradition demanded she had to. Well, tradition had not accounted for the appearance of the wind ship.

Late one evening, while the rest of the tribe slept, Rayia awoke. Packing a small satchel with supplies for a short journey, Rayia carefully snuck out to the beach. From there, she scrambled her way up the side of the ship, careful to avoid being seen. Taking refuge in a crate whose latch she could undo, Rayia soon found herself hoisted into the cargo hold of the ship. She had originally planned to endure the oppressively cramped darkness for only a little while. She hadn't expected it to take so long, her only perspective freedom a tiny slit she had carved in the crate to peer into the ship. Then the ship set sail, and during a violent storm Rayia felt the earth beneath her betray her. Blackness subsumed her.

Trapped. TRAPPED. Need to get out. Escape. Darkness encroaching all around. Sounds of cracking bone and shifting flesh, tearing through the cloth as Rayia's form expanded and changed. Claws shredding through the wood as if it were paper. The screams of sailors who suddenly found themselves in combat with a monster burrowing upwards through their hold. The sting of warm iron spurting in the mouth as teeth closed around limbs.

Distracted as they were, the sailors did not prepare as they neared the coast, and the jagged teeth of the reefs ground deep into the ship's hull, sending the ship grinding to a stop. Rayia was flung off the boat and hit the shallow waters of the bay with a soft splash. As the rest of the ship splintered around her, strewn along the shore like trash, her form reverted.
