[Eternal Fallen Angel]

Vondarc.

A planet full of lush greens and tall spires that reached out toward the sparkling blue skies. Their capital city, conveniently at the end of an important hyperspace route, had grown and flourished under the business it had brought them. However, this planet of industry was not without it’s flaws. Chemical waste was a hazard that was seemingly unavoidable. Yet, according to some, the waste could be contained in a much safer way. Protests arose all over the planet, demanding that the safety of these waste facilities be upgraded.

These protestors would have their points proven when disaster struck the planet. A devastating earthquake hit the capital city, damaging many of the chemical waste plants and releasing their sludge into the wild. The waste had a horrible effect on the natural wildlife, mutating and reforming them into hideous, and dangerous, monsters beant on exacting revenge on the people that had destroyed their home.

With the dangers they feared now pouring forth into the nature they so desperately wanted to protect, the protestors demanded a meeting with the leaders of the city. They demanded that the government take immediate action. Both to clean up the waste before the surrounding area became a toxic swamp that threatened any that lived in the city, and before the mutated beasts would make leaving the city virtually impossible. Now seems an opportune time for Confederate Officials already on-site to discuss incorporation to demonstrate their ability to lead, and to keep the peace.

Objectives

Spoiler

The repairs of the damage to the hazardous waste storage facility must be completed as soon as possible to prevent further spillage. Local inhabitants or Confederacy members would also welcome shoring up the facility to prevent this tragedy from happening again, and a complete site review may be in order in case there are other weak areas that may fail in the future. Furthermore, local containment and cleanup crews require assistance dealing with contaminated wildlife that has been reported in the area. Help with the repairs to the facility or protect the crews while they work. Bring your hazard suits!

The locals are understandably restless. They are concerned the hazardous material that escaped may jeopardize their health or that of their loved ones. There is a sizeable crowd assembled before City Hall calling for action. Environmentalists are likewise on the scene calling for the cessation of the creation of this waste, and its eradication. Government officials may need you help in placating this Public Relations nightmare.

There’s plenty more to do on the planet. Whether it be collecting samples of the radioactive material for you own diabolical needs or any other fun objectives you can come up with, this is the objective for you!

Another day, another mission. Though protecting an engineering crew from what was supposed to be horribly mutated monsters was certainly a new one for the long time commander of the Dauntless forces. Not often you get to see something like that.

Figures that as long as they kept throwing dauntless wherever they needed to go, Luna would continue to see new places and enemies that were once thought impossible to create. Though when something like chemical waste was added to the mix, there was a good chance that something very…unique would be created. It just so happened that these unique entities were extremely angry at their homes being destroyed by all of the waste and were rapidly taking it out on the local population of this rock.

This is why proper safety regulations are of the upmost importance. So giant mutated monsters with a passion for bloodlust weren’t created.

Regardless, Dauntless commandos had been sent in yet again to help clean up the mess. There weren’t many engineers among their ranks, but they could protect those that knew how to fix and contain the epicenter. The plan was simple enough. Make their way to the factory where the waste was flowing from, raise the emergency shields that had malfunctioned during the containment breach, and stop the flow of these harmful, mutating chemicals into nature around them. More than likely easier said than done. But it was a job they had been assigned, and one that they would strive to achieve.

The forward camp was simple enough. A few tents had been set up with some science equipment for those that wished to study the radioactive material further, while the motor pool revving up what little vehicles had been provided. Luna stood near one of the two trucks, ready to greet those that that had come on the mission this day. If everything went to plan, this would be a simple, in and out op.

Making sure everyone came back alive was the Dauntless’s job, and it was one they would do well.

[Adron Malvern]

The crowds below were certainly in an uproar. It was rather amusing, when Adron had heard that Vondarc was showing interest in The Confederacy he believed it would be a world free of most woes. No, the planet was currently dealing with an internal crisis, one that could be easily solved but was causing instability none the less. Perhaps it was this event that made the planet susceptible to the Confederacy's deals, or it could be that Vondarc merely had nowhere else to go. As a Sovereign planet they had achieved all they could hope for, now if they wished to flourish at greater rates they would need the patronage of a nation. Of course, The Confederacy had no problem fulfilling this. The planet sat at the end of a major Hyperspace route, making it an ideal trade hub for The Confederacy. Adron knew this, that was what brought him here in the first place.

The shuttle was dimly lit, practically dark save for a single light that shined over the Exarch. His eyes had been gazing out of the viewport, but there was a datapad resting on his lap. He had a great deal of paperwork to catch up on and these journey's were specifically useful for that.

The pilot, a BX Commando Droid, turned back to the Exarch. "My lord, we have arrived. Shall I prepare your escort?" It asked, it's metallic tone causing the Exarch's expression to sour.

"Do it." He commanded, a lazy wave of the hand signifying his intent towards the trio of droids that were in stand by mode at the back of the shuttle. In unison, each of the droids eyes came alight with crimson life. They optics flickered before the folded bodies uncurled, allowing the three commando droids to stand to their full height. They moved with rhythmic unison, drawing their blasters and looking to the Exarch expectantly.

Adron gazed over at them, before mentally purging them from his mind. Droids were pests, endlessly frustrating and just barely worth keeping around. Were it not for the fact he was on Confederate business, he would have utilized his House guard. They were reliable, trustworthy, and most importantly, organic. He stood up, tossing the datapad onto his seat before feeling the soft shift of the shuttle settling onto it's landing pad. They had arrived.

 

[John Locke]

Objective: Stop the Chemical Leak

Well, this was a mess, no two ways about it. An earthquake was a devastating enough natural event to take care of, John visited enough disaster zones in his time with the Silver Jedi and the Confederacy to know that. Place a waste treatment plant in the path of the earthquake and what would have been a disaster scaled up to a catastrophe.

The Cyborg slid his hands into his pockets, dark eyes surveying the building they were approaching uneasily. "You know, if they'd just reached out to us we could have figured out a better way to handle this." The remark was soft, mostly spoken to himself as he strode forward towards the building as a sigh escaped his lips. He knew that the effects of the chemical waste on the local wildlife had created monsters and part of his mind couldn't help but wonder what could be learned from that. There was a part of the man that wanted to turn and take his team into the wild, to drag the Dauntless commandos with him in an effort to capture some of those creatures to study and learn from them, to extract what knowledge he could. Yet, one step in front of another he made his way to the building, away from the wildlife and the discoveries they entailed.

If his subordinates at the ministry could see him now, well he'd probably lose his mad scientist card but what else could you do? There were people in danger, the kinds of people who didn't have the money or resources to evacuate, to survive the spillage. Their lives were already hard enough and now this, they'd be the ones who bore the brunt of it. Every second they spent distracted by other pursuits only made their lives harder.

"Ok, hazmat teams find and plug the leaks. Watch your meters and if they get too high call in the droids, don't try to take it yourself. It's gonna be a long day and I don't wanna have to send anyone back to the ships for healing before we need it. Engineering teams, we need to take control of the computers and shut down the plant and initiate whatever fail-safes they might have in place. We'll work from there and lock it down."

It was a scene repeated across the city, the Confederacy would never leave one of their planets hurting and in trouble, they were here to help, they'd always answer the call. Hopefully, this was enough to convince the planet's government to seek a better way of handling their waste issues. Even as he was assigning his teams to their positions John was sending a query back to EX to see what kind of resources Locke and Key could bring to bear and to prepare a pitch for the government.

 

[Ezekiel Rage]

Restless. It was the adament of humanity. Well, at least the worst of humanity. It was interesting really. Ezekiel found it almost humorous that the some of the people whom had caused the explosion were the main gang leaders behind this "rally". What a way to play the public.

However, things weren't as peaceful as the report had stated. There were fires, not to mention that the air was full of radioactive materials, enough cosmic radiation to cook a nerf. He couldn't help but feel the least bit emotional as he witnessed children dressed in Hasphmat suits, and adorned with air filtering masks.

It wasn't right. A single tear escaped the Marshal's eyes as the drop pod landed near the center of the city. There he was met by several squads of Battle Droids that were assigned to riot control. There, in the middle of the gathered soilders, was a single pale skinned Umbarran who addressed himself as Nade.

"You look like someone I know." he said as Ezekiel approached him. "Trust me, you don't. Now, Vice Marshal, prepare for the arrival of Exarch Malvern. Send a coded transmission to the Exarch's shuttle. They are to land here, it's the safest partr of this blasted town.".

[Hisashi]

Location: Vondarc - Outskirts

He had become accustomed to something far different.
Over the span of many months, the Shinobi had devoted himself to a life without Her. He had been foolish. Careless. He had allowed someone to come closer than ever before - and as a result had been stung because of it. Like any who had placed their hand inside a beehive, Hisashi strived to learn from his folly. And thus, he had turned his back upon the woman and buried his affections. He tried...Oh he tried...to return to the way things were before Mechis III. He tried in vain to put aside the shred of happiness he had found with her. He tried to become that hound who knew only the scent of blood - who only existed for war.

But in the wee hours of the night, his dreams would betray him. Hisashi missed his Aine. And, as fate would have it, Aine missed her Hisashi.

It was pure happenstance that the perils of being a Knight Obsidian had laid him low. Happenstance that he had been ordered to bed rest for a number of days within the primary, Obsidian facilities. Simply due to this, the woman he had tried so hard to let go found him. She wandered inside his hospital room and - despite the betrayal in his eyes and the fury in his voice - brought joy to his world again. A choice was made: a vow to make their own fate together. And from that day forward, the bloodstained path came to a close. Hisashi had grown accustomed to something far different. Isolation. Battle after Battle. And thus...it was strange to wake up to a contradiction now.

Strange. But he would have it no other way.

In the present, the Knights Obsidian had been called to a distant world. According to the reports, an earthquake had caused toxic waste to be unleashed into the local surroundings. Cleanup and containment was underway in the civilized corners of the world. However, the damages had already been done to the nature and wildlife. Mutations ran rampant, turning base fauna into terrifying threats to humanity. Whilst the Confederacy worked to rectify the situation from a containment standpoint, the Knights and other armed personnel had been dispatched to ensure that the wildlife did not wreak havoc upon the citizenry. For Hisashi and his comrades, this entailed hunting a rather mammoth beast that had been seen skulking about on the forested outskirts.

Thus far, it had already claimed the lives of fourteen. This would not stand. Shortly after the dropship settled down in a clearing, Hisashi disembarked and began searching. Recent reports had indicated that the beast had made a territory of their landing zone - and thus telltale signs of its presence were not difficult to find. Breaks in the trees where it had shoved its way past. Massive imprints of its claws upon the forest floor. Lowering himself to a crouch, the Shinobi inhaled a whiff of the air. The scent was faint. Pungent. But enough that he could track.

Devastation beyond meassurement, that's what the initial reports on the tragedy stated. It was no wonder though, chemical waste when not carefully and expertly managed would lead to numerous repercussions and issues of serious nature along the line. Credius, who not only governed as the head of state on Eriadu, but also had the distinction as one of the primary people of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation and chairman of the Nargath Holdings, was most aware of these consequences on both a political and economical scale, as Eriadu itself had to deal with the repercussions of such mismanagement with century-long air cleansing and desmogging of the atmosphere. It was thusly, that he viewed the issues of the planet Vondarc as slightly personal.

Surely, he could go to the issue itself, the area affected mostly by the radioactive leakage and aid his compatriots in sealing the leak and cleaning up the literal mess. However, seeing as the Viceroy feared the political repercussions would weigh more heavily on the planet's integral stability, he decided that trying to pacify the populace and introduce them to the efficiency of the Confederate Bureaucracy was more beneficial both for himself, as well as the planet itself.

"KRONOS, prepare the Transport," The Viceroy, looking out of the transparisteel viewports on the bridge of the Brabo battlecruiser, commanded the floating golden orb with a stern and authorative voice. After all, he couldn't have the damn AI acting up again and mistaking this for a military operation like he did last time. It seemed though, that the KRONOS AI had been more receptive to the viceroy's commands after its last update, already stretching out part of itself to the ship's central computer to pass through the command to the personel at the hangar bays. "I'll take four of my guard and a detachment of Mercuries, make sure they're all present at launch."

Using the holonet tranceiver and the expansive sensory package of the ship, the viceroy calmly managed to set up the display screens to give him some idea what was going on before he'd be departing. The more detailed reports already started to come flooding in through the planetary news networks and media outlets. Talks of civil unrest and anarchistic movements trying to use this as a time to strike were slightly disturbing. Knowing he could have some industrial benefit for himself here, Credius let out a sigh as he scanned through the various reports, wondering if he could get his hands on the security detail of the politicians currently trying to avoid mass civil unrest. Using the ship's mainframe to sent out a message to those involved in keeping the peace and any confederate officials present that he'll be cooperating with the local authorities and ofcourse the confederate officials themselves, Credius turned away from the display screens and motioned KRONOS to follow him to the second hangar bay, where the dropship would be waiting with the requested detachment of Mercuries and a handful of his own Valkan Guard to escort him to the capital city of Vondarc.

Nyx moved through the camp with a precisely measured gait. Her red eyes surveyed the personnel and material brought to bear on the ecological disaster that had befallen the world. This was not, perhaps, the best use of ministry resources; nevertheless, Nyx was uniquely qualified to aid in this endeavor. Granted, she had acquired a specialized coating that would bolster her ability to withstand elevated doses of radiation. Despite what some organics might believe, droids were not immune to the effects of certain kinds of radiation at sufficient levels of exposure. Even so, with sufficient protection they could operate without the impediment of suits organics wore.

"Has the facility been inspected for imminent failures, or unidentified leakage?" Nyx inquired as she followed in John Locke 's wake. "I offer my services, in whatever capacity they would be of assistance."

Meanwhile, while a band of frequencies had been assigned for the emergency services effort on-going, but Nyx opted to use a confederate-encrypted one instead. She reached out to the Dauntless General Luna Terrik whom the operative had seen leading personnel in the area. General Terrik, this is Nyx. Please be advised that unmanaged, allied personnel may be operating in the surrounding area. Dauntless personnel should check their target before pacifying sources of activity.

It would be ideal if the mission was completed without collateral damage.

Things were seemingly progressing well enough so far. The engineering crews were spreading out throughout the facility, acting on the order of the cybernetically enhanced man that was commanding them. The briefing said this man was the actual John Locke, of Locke and key. They had made weapons that Dauntless had used in the past. It was quite impressive to see someone of his…scientific, standard out in the field. Especially when a field like this one, where it was anything but safe.

What made that even harder for Luna to control was the numerous number of scientists and engineers spread out all over the place. Keeping track of all them was going to be quite a task, even if she had the manpower to spread out to protect them all. Which, she really didn’t, but Omega squad was going to have to try. As they entered into the facility, Luna did her best to get eyes on the crews before pointing them out to the commandos that followed in behind her. “Alright boys. Spread out. Try to make it two to three guns per crew of engineers. Keep your eyes up and voices down.”

There was a silent nodding from the squad before they moved to gather up with the scientists, buddying up in pairs or trios. A crackling sound made it’s way through the speakers in her helmet before the robotic voice of a certain special droid made it’s way through. Hearing it was enough to put a small smile on the general’s face, even if the droid wouldn’t know it. “Glad to have you around, Nyx. I’ve spread my men around in the area to protect the crews. I’ll make sure to mention to watch their fire.” A pause, looking around the massive open area that they would have to patrol, and how the darkness was certainly not making anything easier to see. “Get out on patrol,” she continued, “keep your sensors hot for anything..strange.”

The next objective was to make her way over to the taller man, giving a little salute as she walked up. Not that he necessarily needed to be saluted, but it was a show of solidarity for this mission. Her free hand pointed toward the ceiling, where the massive hanging lights laid dormant, with the only light streaming into the room from a few cracks in the walls. “We planning on fixing that?”

 

[Beric Layne]

Hisashi Áine

Beric Layne was not the type of person that was so easily cowed by nature. While there were others in the galaxy who had grown used to the comforts that technology could produce, Beric's upbringing in the harsh snows and freezing temperatures of Vandor ensured that he did not take comfort for granted. Despite having a similar name, Vondarc seemed to have all of the qualities that Vandor lacked; a temperate climate, cities abound with technological advancement, and a strong economy rooted in trade and manufacturing. Despite that, Vondarc's amenities had seemed to take a turn for a worse when a natural disaster had caused the mass leakage of chemical waste into the biosphere, severely mutating the organic life surrounding Vondarc's capital city.

And thus, Beric found himself apart of a small contingent of the Knights Obisidan tasked to pacify the mutated wildlife of Vondarc. Although it was by no means a walk in the park, compared to his past deployments with the Knights Obsidian -- in which one mission he had fallen out of a crashing ship when it was still in the lower atmosphere, and another where they had ferried a force-sensitive boy to safety out of Sith Space and the hands of several Inquisitors -- this didn't seem quite as bad. Beric found himself oddly at peace with the nature surrounding it, corrupted as it might be. The Living Force was strong with this planet, and with the wildlife that it inhabited, and Beric felt almost guilty for coming to the planet with the sole purpose of destroying what had been, albeit accidentally, created.

The message from one of his fellow brother-in-arms, Hisashi, came in audibly through a small commlink embedded onto Beric's left wrist gauntlet. A small circle indicator shone yellow as the Knight's transmission came through a storm of static -- the thick flora of Vondarc was not very conductive for comm transmissions. Waiting for the Knight to finish his sentence, Beric pressed down on the indicator, waiting for it to shine blue before he responded. "How much exactly do we know about this. . . thing? A wiser course of action may be to approach it from afar, to study its behaviors and determine the best method of assault." The transponder stopped shining as Beric finished his suggestion to continue his exploration of the forest.

 

[Dain Vikaar]

Áine | Hisashi | Beric Layne​

It had been awhile since Dain had joined forces with anyone, more recently having taken to pursuing a various number of bounties on his on. And as that did well with lining his own pocket with credits from the various bounties he had undertaken, it was a lonely path. And a path where he felt disconnected from the greater galaxy. And it was this loneliness and disconnection that had pulled him back toward the open arms of the Confederacy once again.

And why not?

Often times there was strength in numbers. But beyond that, there was also something that could be learned from those one might choose to acquaint themselves with. Whether those lessons would be of what to or what not to do had yet to be determined, but they were bound to present themselves soo enough. And just as he would learn certain lessons from those he accompanied now, there would certainly be lessons in which these companions could learn from him as well. After all, having spent several years inside the Dauntless before taking his leave to pursue more personal endeavors, he’d assembled quite the tool kit of his own in tactics and weapons versatility. His past was his past, however, and there was certain to be a time to explore that, but for now, there was a mission that demanded his focus.

Dain had arrived on Vondarc in the same dropship as Hisashi, but the two men had yet to give one another any introduction. Perhaps this is because the two men were similar in many ways. Or perhaps they were just preoccupied with other matters that would, no doubt, be lofting about in their minds. For Dain this revolved around whether or not the fabled tales and heroics that many seemed to fabricate and fantasize over of the Knight Obsidian, held any true merit. Whether their skills and abilities truly made them the heroes of the tales that seemed to spring up in their wake. And what was it the man before him could offer in this quest: a mission to subdue a mutated population of fauna that had sprung up in the aftermath of the earthquake here.

But what were these monstrosities? Time was sure to tell, but for now there was only rumor and hearsay. And the tracks their that now befell their eyes since they reached the planet’s surface. Splintered trees and massive, clawed depressions in Vondarc’s soil.

Whatever this beast was, it was bound to present a challenge no matter what actions they chose to take.

To deploy the Knights Obsidian mean that the threat was greater than simple military assets could neutralize. They discussed at length during the re-evaluation of Obsidian values and the code itself what they would activate for, and once the trial was ultimately dismissed by the Lord Commander, Alkor had been cleared to join the conversation. Eyes from all over fell upon the Dark Jedi, who all knew and understood to be the assailant who "killed" the man named Hashim: the focal point around which everything changed for the Knighthood forever.

Because of this, many of them did not trust him. They viewed Alkor as a corrupted asset, a danger to balance in the Order. Above all, they felt fear and uncertainty around him, understanding that he represented a force of change. Reince quietly accepted Alkor's reentry into the Knights Obsidian and gave him a short term leave, in order that the Obsidian Lords and Master's Council could smooth out details and transition to a new system of command. That time had come and gone, and now Knights had deployed under the new threat assessment protocols.

Confederate Defense Force assets were deployed locally to contain and neutralize dangerous spillage and waste from a defunct facility, and politicians moved in to secure a safe environment for the local populace. That meant something even greater lurked beyond that imminent danger. Knight Hisashi and his collective of comrades were given the task of searching out a large and highly dangerous subject that had already murdered citizens numbering in the double digits. The task was easy only in explanation. It would be a trial in its own right.

Alkor Centaris had his own assignment.

He opened the primitive file folder and glanced over the contents only after he was away from the group. Alkor had moved with them into the forest and emulated the protocols dictated to the strike team, but his orders were separate and not to be shared with the rest of the unit. When he saw the scope of his task, he understood immediately.

 

[Kaden Farr]

Another mission, another payday. Winter on Haseria was in full swing, and while Kaden had ensured to have plenty of food stored and ready for the months he would not be able to work his fields, the Mandalorian still had bills to pay. The Confederacy was always paying, and there was always work to be found. Normally Kaden would feel guilty about dragging Daisy off world for another mission, but the weather had him feeling a bit stir crazy. There had not been much work on his homestead since the first major snowfall, and much was true for everyone else. It was under these circumstances Kaden had no issue hiring out his other talents, and asking Daisy to join him. Her presence had become something of a must for him to agree to a job these days.​

This job was not something anyone would consider sexy by any stretch of the word. Hazardous materials were spilling into the forest, and teams had been dispatched to clean the mess and repair the facility so that such a thing would not happen again. There was a military presence to protect the work teams from whatever contaminated creatures would make the work problematic, but there was still the threat of the creatures roaming the area themselves. Unfortunately there was no cure for them and the only thing to be done was to put them down. This was where Kaden and Daisy came in.​

Armored feet moved about the perimeter as the pair searched for the perfect perch to base their hunt from. The two could wait for the creatures to come to them, or they could hunt the beasts themselves. Kaden was not content to sit idle, and the more creatures they dealt with now, the less the work crews would have to handle. Yes, Kaden knew there were too many for the pair to handle on their own, but this was method was as much about the sport as it was work. Had the area not been contaminated Daisy would have seen the smile on Kaden's face, though it was clear in his voice.​

Tilting his head upward, Kaden placed a armored hand on the duracrete tower. It was several meters high with what looked like a minimally used lookout station. A rusted ladder led to the top, but a good shake proved the bolts were secure and would handle the extra weight of their armor.​

​

It was enough to have Daisy with him. While every mission proved how well they worked together, nothing had been more clear than when they cleared out a nest of giant bugs. Something about that day had put many things into perspective. The way the two had moved together was more than natural and convinced the Mandalorian the two were made for each other. He had expressed as much the way he kissed the blonde after marking a distinct change in the relationship between the two. His feelings had always been there, but it had been his moment to act on them. It was a moment Kaden was not going to forget anytime soon.​

Kaden shouldered a carbine along with the rest of his gear. The scoped weapon was going to make ranged shots much easier. Some beasts Kaden fully expected they would have to chase, but most would be ranged. In fact, as Kaden began to climb the ladder up the tower they had found a wicked grin stretched across his face.​

He loved playing with Daisy. It wasn't just that the pair clicked or had their sweet moments. All of that was great, but Kaden enjoyed that Daisy was as much a Mandalorian as any. Knives, blasters, slugthrowers, and rocket launchers, were just as acceptable a gift as a flower. In fact, Kaden was certain that Daisy preferred the weapons over the flowers anyway. Was it a risk to bet anything Daisy wanted, sure, but it was part of the fun and adventure that made the two who they were. There would be plenty of teasing and razzing, but it would all be in good fun and affection. Kaden loved their dynamic. Kaden loved her, and he did not think he could be any happier.​

[Eternal Fallen Angel]

In the facilities darkness, something can be heard stirring. Even as the engineering crews work to fix the leaks as quickly as possible, the radioactive sludge still flows, effecting whatever it touches. Having been flowing for so long, it would not be crazy to think it has already taken a hold of some of the creatures in the environment. And as the crews work, the Dauntless squad protecting them, those thoughts and fears would be confirmed.​

For outside the facility, something can be heard stomping around. It wasn’t stopping, and the sound of the workers trying to close up it’s lifeblood has drawn it here. Whatever it was, it was getting closer by the second.​

And it sounds very big.

To say that the people of Vondarc were furious for how their planet had been effected would be an understatement. For months before the accident, they had been petitioning the government for the use of better safety regulations at the radioactive facility. And now, with their biggest fears realized, the people would stand for inaction no more.​

Standing outside the largest government building in the capital city, a seemingly endless crowd had gathered to demand change. Signs saying everything from, “silence is murder,” to, “change, now!,” could be seen. Not only that, flares of green and white smoke had been popped within the crowd, making for an extremely volatile environment for whoever tried to stop their advance to the government building, which were a few unfortunate guards and policemen at the moment.​

For now, the crowd was non-violent. But the longer inaction is being taken, the more likely it will be that they strike towards the building, and this protest turns into a full sized riot that will be incredibly hard to stop.

Damsy felt traitorous. Of course, it wasn't her fault she had been given a directive separate from the majority of the Legion, but, so far, keeping the peace at the capital seemed quite the long straw compared to assisting cleanup attempts. Rioting or radioactivity - not really fair a toss up.

The city's streets were eerily empty; the sithspawn had not seen one humanoid since gaining good ground from the her landing zone near the outskirts. It felt to her very much like an urban warzone: roads and sidewalks were simultaneously ripped up and depressed into potholes in large sections, downed speeders nested in sides of buildings, settling dust still clung to the air. She couldn't have shut off the expectation of getting shot at by some holed out combatant even if she wanted to, but she managed to leave the weapons at her utility belt there. Nothing was wrong.

Not yet...

Maybe she hadn't gotten off hazard duty so easily after all.

"Grand Marshal, this is Captain Callat," she said into her helmet comm after raising a hand to activate it, tapping into Omega's frequency. "I've made it. Nearin' Capitol Square now. I'll be on the lookout for Exarch Malvern. Want situational updates from there?" As she waited for a response, the horizontal drift of a duality of colors high into the sky beyond a low skyline of buildings caught Damsy's attention. No noise yet accompanied it, but did soon enough as she double-timed it towards the source of smoke.

The moment that Adron Malvern exited out of the shuttle, it was as if the Force washed over the planet. The crowd before him was compelled to cheer, to feel excitement for a man they had never seen. The Dark Side washed over him in endless waves until his amethyst waves began to glow in the evening light. He looked to the gathered crowds with an expression that one might gaze at a newborn infant with. They were so easily swayed when you tapped into their base emotions, freeing them from the shattered reality of freedom and presenting them with what they were truly meant to be, devoted.

The team of Commando droid's moved around the Exarch, taking up a rough box formation as they led him across the landing pad. The first to catch his eye was Ezekiel Rage. The Exarch did not seem to notice him, in fact for a while it was as if his existence meant nothing to the man. However, in the last moment before he would pass him, Adron's eyes settled upon the man. "I assume everything is prepared for my arrival?" He asked, before turning his gaze to another who was approaching. Damsy Callat was a well-known member of the Dauntless Commandos, meaning her name came across Adron's desk more times than she would ever know. "So, they decided a Dauntless escort would be in order? Overkill. The only reason I am here is to make sure these people do not disturb the already fragile balance this planet maintains." He said, matter of factually, before turning away from the two and moving down the landing pad ramp. "Well, let us go see our new people."

Where the crowds had once been in an uproar, chanting for change and progress, now they had taken on a whole new persona. At least those closest to the Government building had been satiated simply by the will of the Force.

"There is something innately disgusting about this place." The Exarch said, rolling a single hand across his brow to replace a fallen lock of hair. When he finally approached the edge of the Government Building, a number of the city officials had gathered. "Finally!" A glutenous man ran towards the Exarch, however one of the Commando droids kept him back. "The crowd! It threatens to turn to-" His words trailed off as he looked down to the cheering crowd and saw pleasure in the place of fury. "What....did you do?" He asked.

The Exarch leaned against the railing while keeping his eyes fastened on the commoners below. "A simple mind trick. They'll snap out of it in a few minutes, but it will at least give them pause to listen to me. Because you buffoons got them so riled up, they would have let anything I said go in one ear and out the other."

"Buffoons?!" The man growled, his large cheeks shaking angrily as he shook his head at the man's words. "Sir, I'll have you know-"

"No, you'll keep your mouth closed." The Dark Lord said, gesturing towards the man with a wave of his hand.

"I'll keep my mouth closed." He repeated in a monotone voice, before stepping back from the Exarch. Adron glanced over to him before exhaling softly. "Like I said, buffoon."

As the transport ship broke through the atmosphere of Vondarc, with Viceroy Credius Nargath aboard alongside four of his personal guard and a detachment of twenty ZMD-C1 Mercury combat droids, the aforementioned viceroy could already feel the large scale manipulation through the force. It was enough to alter the mind of any lesser being, as he could see that his own guard was even feeling a bit fidgety, though they had managed to gain some sort of limited resistance to the typical mind manipulation through their rigorous training, yet if even they were being influenced, Credius knew that whomever was responsible for this mass manipulation was no ordinary user of the force.

The closer the transport came to their intended goal, the more familiar this overwhelming power within thez force felt, until suddenly Credius' eyes went wide open and he finally could pinpoint a name and a face to the strength he was sensing. It was none other than the exarch who had managed to thwart his opposition to the CIS interference in Eriadu affairs months prior: Adron Malvern .

Retrieving a silken handkerchief, the viceroy wiped the sweat off of his forehead, grinning while he did this. As this exertion of the force was making it hard to even maintain his minimal concentration necessary to keep up the ruse that was his mask. However, even though Credius was slightly annoyed that he was not going to be the ranking politian at this gathering, he was fairly certain that the Exarch was not entirly prepared for when things wouldn't go the way the man wanted, at least not without having to actually exert himself. How the Viceroy gathered this was simple, the fact that as he landed, he could see the shuttle in which the Exarch had arrived, which was not suited to carry an abundant amount of personel aboard.

As soon as the dropship had securily reached its own landing platform, Credius stepped out, flanked by his four Valkan guards in their bright, white armor and followed by two lines of ten combat droids, stepping in the unmistaken droid unison which had long ago made worlds and even the galaxy tremble in a whole. All the while, the golden orb that was the KRONOS AI, hovered silently near the viceroy's head.

Upon arriving at the government building but a mere moments after the Exarch had silenced the government official, Credius looked at the surprisingly cheerful crowd before turning his gaze towards the Exarch himself. "It's rather amusing to see them like this," The viceroy grinned and gave the Exarch a graceous bow, dnoting that the viceroy did not forget who it was he was talking to. "In any case, I'll have my detachment line up and stand guard. What are your plans, your excellency...will you be adressing this population or do you prefer to first talk with those pompous oafs that call themselves the government?"

Arriving on Vandarc after the disaster struck had given her time to investigate the situation. Things were certainly going to go downhill but those among the crowd itself stood out in her eyes. There were plenty among them genuinely angry about the disaster and what it meant for their lives and the future of the Vondarc. No, in the eyes of few among the crowd she saw a familiar glint that she had learned meant nothing good. Members of the local gangs mixed into the mass would be troublesome. She couldn't identify them all by glance, but she had identified a couple and chose to keep a close eye on them. Given her position within the Confederacy and lack of distinguishing markings to identify her as one of them if she had to move into the crowd to stop something, she wouldn't hesitate.

Positioned in an overlook position, the arrival of Adron Malvern was one that would certainly not go unnoticed. The sudden shift in the crowd's mannerisms suggested use of the Force. The minds of the people so easily shifted to bend to his will, it didn't sit well with her. Though for them to be calm for a moment was better than the act of troops gunning them down where they stand. For that fact, she would simply sigh and await the whole thing to wear off. However, while the gathered masses were sedated, her eyes turned to the surroundings away from them. If things were planned to escelate, others hiding in the area couldd be present and to let them slip through would be dangerous. Switching her blaster to stun, she pulled her hair back, tying it into a ponytail before closely watching the situation below.

Tapping into Confederate comms, she believed it wise to infor the others of the current situation.

Only a couple have been identified but, I believe there are more, I am keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity. >

How much exactly do we know about this...thing?

As the shinobi's gaze rested upon the gargantuan imprint, a response hummed to being over the comms. The voice of a fellow knight, one Beric Layne , suggested that a more tempered approach be taken when it came to their prey. In most scenarios, Hisashi would have agreed with the noble. Understanding the depths of an adverary's capabilities only heightened one's chances for victory. However. Thus far, the sum of lives consumed by the monstrosity were too great in Hisashi's mind.

Between the Knighthood and the freelancers who had taken to this task, the shinobi was confident in their ability to handle the beast as is.

After all, they were the same warriors who had stared down literal Titans of metal and fire on Mechis III. The same Knights who had weathered every battle the nation fought in foreign places. How could they be laid low here - after so facing down so many adversaries. For but a few moments, the shinobi rolled the dirt between his fingers, contemplating, as the remaining personnel disembarked the dropship. He heard the approach of the freelancer who had not spoken throughout their voyage.

Hisashi did not take any offense to this reality. Rather, he found it preferable. The mission at hand took priority over idle chatter. Raising a finger, he activated the comm and uttered his response. "Observation isn't a luxury we have. Too many lives have already been los-" He was cut-off mid-sentence by a thunderous sound. The din of wood splintering. Of earth being pummeled to ruin. Looking up, the form of a mammoth tree was rapidly approaching - one that had been hurled in their direction by the beast itself.

"MOVE!" he barked, diving to set himself out of harms way. Upon skidding to an unceremonious halt upon the earth, Hisashi quickly scrambled to his feet. It was then that he first laid eyes on their target. The beast stood higher than even their dropship. Covered in rippling scales. Venom seemed to pool and drip from its open maw. Despite its size, the beast moved at an alarming pace as well. It lowered its head and charged headlong towards Dain Vikaar. If the man didn't move, he'd find himself trampled.

"The beast is here - all hands, to me!" Hisashi roared over the comm. The last sound that would echo from his transmission was the snap-hiss of his lightsaber burning into being.

Was it confidence...or hubris...which fueled the Knight. This battle would soon tell.​

Voph strode quietly hanging behind Adron and his guard, but clearly still a member of that party. His newly crafted white armor stood stark against the cold metal of the droids around him, and the lightsabers upon his hips gleamed, marking him as a Force User, if not a Sith like the man he followed. Voph frowned slightly under his helmet as Adron sent the Force to do his bidding to pacify the crowds. An effective strategy, but one Voph had seen too many times before. Usually followed by the sounds of repeating cannons. Voph followed without question or challenge, however. It was arguably more effective than any other method they had before them at the present.

Voph noticed, however, that as Credius landed, that he was the lone member of the retinue who lacked his own personal guard. Voph's frown deepened as the man approached, not trusting him since the uprising on Vylmira, and the sudden surge of the Dark Side that had surrounded him upon their landing. But he said nothing to Adron for the moment. All in due time. As rather large individual ran out to meet them, Voph's hand fell to a lightsaber in unison with the droid's motion to drive him back. Voph was, after all, here first and foremost as an enforcer. But, he had been granted permission by the Viceroy of Vylmira to speak on her behalf if it was deemed necessary.

"Acknowledged, agent. If you spot trouble, inform us immediately."

Voph turned to Adron, after he had placated the blustering official, and said, partially in answer to Credius's suggestion, "Best one of us speak to the crowds. They may prove as dangerous as the beasts if uncontrolled. Another can speak with the ranking officials." Voph glanced to Credius. "I feel it best that Adron be the one to placate the masses. You and I can speak with the officials. Less chance of something going wrong that way." Voph turned his head towards Adron in a silent gesture that conveyed two messages. The first was a silent inquiry for permission to enact this plan. Adron was the Exarch, after all. The second, was a pointed gesture through the force that conveyed the message as a simple emotion. Distrust. Voph knew that Adron had little reason to give weight to his feelings on the matter, but he also trusted that his history among the Confederacy, and acting in the best interests of her people, would earn him at least a little credit. Voph wasn't sure what exactly Credius might be capable of, but he knew that the man's conduct on Vylmira meant he had an agenda. And it was not necessarily one that served the Confederacy's interests....
