The little knight worried her. The possibility of a knight obsidian getting her near her watch wouldn’t sit well with her. Although, the warrior did seem to think that she had it completely under control. And more than likely, she was right. They were trained plenty well enough. Very few things, however, could prepare one for the sight of the monsters that this swamp could create with the added radioactive material.

The idea ate away at her enough to tap two of the commandos on the shoulder, proceeding toward the entrance to the ripped open facility. She shot a little look over her shoulder toward the cybernetic man as she did so. “I’ll be right back. Going to go make sure our..friend handles herself as well as she believes she can.” The general followed it with a little chuckle, boots crunching against the built up dirt.

Once at the entrance, Luna found herself kneeling to watch the knight obsidian, curious to see how she did. She’d probably handle herself well enough. But if the blue skinned woman didn’t… “Keep your eyes peeled. Watch her. We should be ready to intervene and help if it looks like she might need it. Otherwise, lets keep our distance. We’re a safety net, no more.” The knight would get her fight, Luna would not be the one to stop that.

There was also whatever was going on at the city center to keep in the back of her mind. Damsy's comm caught her off guard slightly. She knew the people of this planet were unhappy, but to attack or outright use violence was..unexpected. "Acknowledged, captain Callat. Keep me posted. Stay safe." The captain could handle it, especially if there was a bird there to help her. However, she allowed the thought of sending an extra squad to the city center to cross her mind. She decided to not make this move. Just yet. If the situation escalated, then it was a measure that would need to be taken.

Beric had been hoping for more preparation to face this thing. From the way things looked, their target was not going to be as considerate as Beric wished. Even though Beric was well over a half-kilometer from where Hisashi, and presumably his two other mission members stood, the massive creature's roar reverberated through the forest. But unlike what his younger self might have done in the same situation, Beric checked himself before running headstrong against his target. He calmed his breathing, instead choosing to reach out with the force to feel his surroundings. Despite all of the planet's problems, this untouched section of forest still teemed with life, thousands and millions of different beings with their own identity in the force. They shone like a thousand stars, and Beric had to focus to hone out what he was searching for. Yet as he tried to identify their quarry, he could feel one emotion that seemed to resonate from the area as if in unity; fear. Whatever this creature was, it obviously had reason to incite panic in all of the living beings in the forest.

He opened his eyes to witness a flock of avians take flight from the upper canopy of the forest as the dim sound of breaking trunks and crashing trees reached Beric's ears. He drew his lightsaber, and in a single motion it radiated to life, shining a brilliant ice-blue against the shady browns and greens of Vondarc's undergrowth. Setting it in his mind, he began to run towards the location of his companions. Now larger wildlife was streaming towards in, running in the opposite direction of Beric's intended location. Despite their lack of communication, how quadruped and bipeds of all different species had the same direction in mind would've been fascinating to study if not for the impending brawl that awaited Beric as he spread through the forest. He sliced through low-hanging branches and bushes that obstructed his path, the blade of his lightsaber leaving singed undergrowth in its wake.

After what felt like an hour of running and building-up dread, but was probably closer to a couple of minutes, Beric arrived to find himself facing the beast from the wrong direction. Its scaly tail whipped back and forth, and Beric was forced to sidestep to prevent himself from being whacked into the atmosphere by several tons of pure muscle. As if in instinct, Beric whipped his lightsaber around as he did so, cutting into the beast's scaly hide -- or at least, he tried to do so. Sparks flew as the his blade all but bounced off, leaving nothing more than a light cut into the armor of the creature. That didn't prevent the thing from letting out a massive roar as it whipped its tail in reaction towards Beric. Seeing the oncoming tail, Beric quickly used the force to propell him under and through the mud created by the thing's feet as its tail passed by only several inches above his nose. Regaining his footing, he tapped into his comms once more. "Bad news, and more bad news. That thing's hide is resistant to lightsabers and most likely blasters as well, and on top of that, I may have made it more angry," he said in between breaths as he eyed the massive beasts tail, anticipating a
reciprocating swing towards his new location. "If anyone has a blaster, see if the creatures eyes are as protected as its body. In most beings that is a softer weak spot."

Those black, soulless eyes of the monster regarded the hunter with morbid curiosity, like a human playing with a fly before squashing it. When it drew it’s blade, the crab creature let out a bellowing roars, slashing the ground with one large claw, spraying a combination of mud and water toward her. A distraction tactic, perhaps, one that may or may not have worked. Regardless, the creature moved to the right, seeking to end this little distraction quickly. The massive, overgrown claw that hadn’t slashed the water raised high, slamming downward with deadly, crushing force.

“No!” The twilek exclaimed, half out of anger and half out of fear of the towering man in front of him. One might hope that the fear would win out, causing him to shut back down and just accept his fate. However, anger at these two tall, haughty individuals coming in and threatening to cut of their profits, his profits was driving him to make a very, very bad decision. That decision was to whip out a holdout pistol from his back pocket, pointing it into the face of the non blind individual. Pointing a blaster in a blind person’s face didn’t exactly seem like it would strike fear into the pair. “Now…you will listen. I will pull this trigger..that is, unless you let this whole thing slip past your memory. You go out there, like good little ackdogs, and tell your exarch we are the best people to rule the planet.” He emphasized his point by pressing the muzzle of the blaster against the man’s nose. “You got that?”

Outside, with the crowd, those that wished to see violence done to the men that had ruled this planet were indeed being drawn to the back of the crowd. They didn’t know exactly why they were acting in such a way, but there was just something…pulling them back there. Before they knew what was happening, four of the group lay dead. Whoever this armored individual was had slaughtered over half of them in cold blood. The three remaining individuals trained their blasters on her. One pulled his detonator from his cloak, having to press it a few times before realizing it wasn’t working. Looking puzzled over at his comrades, it was decided silently that whoever this woman was, if she opposed them, she was with the men who sought to destroy this planet for profit. With their blasters now trained on her head, they were prepared to end this threat to their society.

He heard the thunderous crash of water long before he saw the falls. Dense foliage barred much of the path forward, and even hacking away at it with his lightsaber consumed an inordinate amount of time. The underdeveloped portions of Vondarc were, in a word, wild. The Knight took note as he made headway that he could feel more established life nearby, but the sound of the running water made his attempts to hear anything else ineffective.

The river gripped his attention immediately when it came into view. Pylons that churned and produced hydroelectric energy massed along the banks, prompting Alkor to wonder why the people had such a dependence on nuclear energy when other, cleaner methods were available. A darker possibility weighed on his mind, but he kept his prejudices out of the equation. At least, he did so for the moment.

Steam billowed from the base of the falls and Alkor made out the form of a much larger piece of equipment. As he moved closer, he understood what it was. "Suspicions confirmed," he muttered. The Dark Jedi produced a datapad from his waist and began typing furiously.

Terraforming equipment powered by hydroelectric turbines found at an undisclosed site, not far from ground zero.

Rudimentary forms of the equipment involved directly grounded machinery that could cause shifts in the planetary crust, tectonic activity had been lost to the ages. Companies that dealt in restoring planets from the brink of annihilation had long since moved toward orbital solutions, options that put the teams working long hours out of harm's way. These were relics of the first age of planet building, or at least, the Galaxy's attempt to perfect a Rakatan art.

The reason they were left behind was the same reason they were still active here.

Just as he was about to leave everything within the capable hands of the High Councillor, standing up to excuse himself from this farçe, it looked like the Twi'lek had actually grown himself a pair or rather perhaps found his pair back within those flabs and folds of utter disgusting, bloated fat which he seemed to look at as some sort of status symbol. A blaster was drawn and pointed straight at the Viceroy's face under threat of leaving the planet. However, this threat was probably the dumbest thing he could've employed at this point, as Credius could only grin sinisterly at this point.

"My my, what a demand," As he stepped closer, the Viceroy's eyes began to turn completely bloodred, blue veins strated to crack through his skin, while the air seemed to become thick and stiffling within the conference room. The jewel upon the man's chest started to pulsate with an eerie light, while the Viceroy simply maintained his sinister smile and looked the tw'lek right in the eyes.

"Think about this will you, you think anything will be left on this planet to get any profits from when you shoot me or my colleague?" Slowly, the Viceroy's left hand moved slightly in the direction of the Twi'lec, subtly trying to guide the force towards the man to grant him a vision of what his insolence and stupidity would accomplish. To allow the man to see his greatest fear, to drown him in the madness of agony and despair. "You fire a single shot...and a thousand canons will rip apart your planet from orbit, your people will die, your factories destroyed and you...well, let's just say that the confederacy does not take kindly to the assassination of its own officials."

Unperturbed by the man's blaster still in his face, the viceroy let out a chuckle, looking at the other members of this government within the room. "Well, you all get a simple choice... the one to put this fool out of his misery lives, the others will either die by my hand, the hands of the high councillor or your own damn people. I think that's fair, no?"

The message appeared before her eyes as she shifted to get a clear view of the back of the crowd. Seeing the four drop, her crosshairs found the first target as blasters were drawn. Her index finger found the rifle's trigger as the secondary firing method was activated to make use of the darts. Breathing in, she took a deep breath before pausing, allowing her body to remain still. Pulling the trigger on the first target, Ciri shifts her sight to the next and then the third, firing off the darts as her scope centers on them. Keeping her eye in the sights long enough to ensure her targets were hit, she pulls back and exhales unable to hold her breath any longer.

< Pulling a detonator like that. Reckless fool. It seems they're quite fanatical and are ready to go to any length today. Nice trick. > Sitting upright, Ciri peers out from her position, scanning the crowd as well as the surrounding area. Until they were certain that things were under control, she wouldn't believe that these were all of them, or that the chaos of the day was behind them. The people had yet to be sated and if these cloaked people had their way, even some of the more peaceful of the crowd could turn violent.

< Jammer is working as intended. I'll check other frequencies for other things. Better to stay on top of this situation..> Moving through the menus of her HUD, she scanned through frequencies for any signals that would catch her attention, the info scrolling through before her left eye as she left the right side free for her to observe the area below.

Voph sighed quietly. The Twi'lek had drawn a blaster. Granted, it was leveled at Credius, not at him. And Credius decided to toy with the man. Offering his life as trade for the other board members. Voph stepped forward, and in the flick of a wrist, his Lightsaber was on. The arm holding a blaster was severed from the body, soon followed by the head. Voph had told them. They were under arrest. Any who resisted would meet his blade. Voph turned to the rest of the room.

He gestured to the door. "On your feet. Lest you think I am in a mood of jest after this fool saw fit to threaten us." Voph held his lightsaber ready, staring at the other inhabitants in the room. They, fortunately began to get the message. Voph turned to Credius and nodded. "Take the lead." Voph returned his helmet to his head, and began to usher the leaders out. "Malvern, we're exiting the building. Leaders opted for the hard way. Leaving in custody. Best make a show of it."

Nyx accompanied one of the repair crews and assisted in holding various heavy materials in place to shore up walls around the facility. Her chronometer also tracked the temporal exposure to hazardous materials along with the likely exposure rate minus any protective gear worn. As much as securing the objective was require for mission success, the loss of resources would reduce overall efficiency. Demoralizing forces would have drastic effect on securing the final touches. Even a droid lacking any moral programming understood the stark math when it came to the loss of able bodies.

"Have the cleanup crews experienced similar success?" Nyx inquired, curious whether John Locke had been kept up to date on their progress. "It would not be ideal should hostile lifeforms hinder those efforts." Perhaps she should venture into the forest herself. Yes, both Tallara and Terrik were there now... but there was some 'sense' that Nyx should do more on that front. Even if combat was not her primary function, she was quite capable of it. In fact, surprisingly so. She did appreciate the design characteristics of her own construction. Was that vanity?

The crash of the waterfall muted the first set of screams. Workers- for that was what they were, dressed in bright oranges and yellows to differentiate them against the darkness of the forest- fell to his blade and into the torrential river. It swept their ruins away without missing a beat as the Dark Jedi moved purposefully toward the installation. Blaster fire opened on him and he deftly sent bolts of energy flying in a wild fan away from himself. "They've found us!" came a cry. Another, "we've been discovered!"

Alkor could feel the fear rising beneath the surface. As the word spread, so did the emotion. He could feel more life forms that almost seemed nonexistent before as they roused.

He put his blade through another before a man stepped into the open and called out to him. "Is this how the Confederacy operates?" his voice boomed. "Will there be no negotiations? Will you not meet with us to discuss terms of surrender?"

Alkor looked from one side to the other. There were rifles trained on him, and he could feel the killing intent bubbling within every man. It made his hair stand on end. "You are the last remaining cell of the Crucible," Alkor replied evenly. "You survived to know what happened to the other members of your group. You know the Confederate response."

"So quick to call us terrorists?" A mirthless laugh. "You've already made your decision. There's no use talking."

"You've got nothing worth saying," the Knight shrugged. "The equipment here is for terraforming. The disaster nearby was caused by an Earthquake. The pieces fit."

"Vondarc shouldn't rely on radiation for power," came the hurried response. "This was a warning! A caution to those who follow, to not endanger their people and the life of this world!"

"An Ecoterrorist," Alkor spat, "is still a terrorist."

He would never know whether they were actually affiliated with the Crucible or not. It didn't matter what their reasons for, or what they hoped to achieve. In the face of swift Confederate Justice, their tale had come to its end.

The men opened fire all around him, converged, and Vondarc was plunged into darkness.

Soon, only the thrum of a single lightsaber remained.

Between the combined efforts of John Locke John Locke ’s core of engineers and the protection of the Dauntless, led by Luna Terrik Luna Terrik and Nyx N1X3 Nyx N1X3 , the facilities worst leaks were beginning to be patched up. No longer did radioactive sludge pour into the once beautiful nature landscape around the facility, and with a bit more work, it could be fully repaired by to working order. That was, of course, assuming that the Confederacy didn’t just allow the facility to be rebuilt without proper safety regulations. Outside the patched up facility, Tallara Tallara began her fight with the massive crab creature, intent on not allowing it to interfere with the repair crews job. Doing so had bought the engineers precious time, though it remained to be seen whether she’d best the hulking creature.

Back inside the city, between the combined efforts of Ciri Jade Ciri Jade and Damsy Callat Damsy Callat , those that wished to do harm to the owners of the facility were subdued. Killed, no, but only subdued. While their methods were certainly wrong, the motivations of these people, who were rightfully angry at how their home had been treated by the money hungry aristocrats, was easily understood. Between their efforts and the speech by Adron Malvern Adron Malvern , the crowd that had once threatened to spill out into violent protests had been satiated. The justified anger was still present, but it seemed as though the people were very willing to accept the Confederacy as their new rulers, provided they ruled the planet the right way. It was expected the Confederacy would stand in stark contrast to the rulers of old, whom had surrendered themselves to the fate that was set out for them. For the meeting with the officials, things might've could have gone better. Or, maybe not. Waving a blaster in the face of a Confederate
official might not have been the smartest of ideas. Regardless, the display of power between Credius Credius and Kyyrk Kyyrk was enough to get them to accept their fate, surrendering peacefully. Their surrender signaled a new beginning for the people of Vondarc, and the planet as a whole. No longer would the corrupt rule, kicking safety to the curb to save a few credits. With the Confederacy having the lead, the people could be assured that their personal safety, alongside the safety of their planet, would be taken care of.
