BIOGRAPHY:
Makko grew up in the Tallis Favela in District 8 on Denon. The lawless slum is its own isolated slum community of 'hacktivists' that remains apart from the rest of the district.
The Tallis Favela isn't always left alone. When he was 10, a Corporate Authority raid took his parents among many others for defacing a government holo-network. They would not be seen again.
The community looked after him. Being without parents and looked after by a community that spent as much team jacked in as they did in the real made him a prime target for gang exploitation.
He was running spice around the district for the Brain Wasters at fourteen. He still bears a scar on his top lip from getting caught selling on his own to make more money.
Even at this age he had a vindictive streak. Weeks after the incident, he managed to convince that same street pusher to sell in hostile territory. The pusher was shot dead on the side of the road and Makko didn't feel an ounce of guilt.
At sixteen he had moved onto more dangerous crimes. He moved into a flat in a tower mostly run by the Fractal State gang. The gang is an extreme arms-length cousin of Darkwire, hitting back at corporate authorities and the state. If he kept anything from his parents, it was not the seni-happy memories of his early childhood, but a carefully cultivated anger at the people who had taken them from him.
He had no formal education, but the same talent as his parents for slicing. He started with simple locks, but moved on to more complex alarm systems. Makko started on smaller tasks, working with a team on up-close slicing of the personal data pads of corporate-types on the street. By the end he was working with the gang to break into corporate server farms to steal digital credits in bulk.
