Public A Green Bean's celebration [Friends or Invite!]

There had been a lot on the Mirialan's mind since he had gotten back from Thule. His training, how everyone else must have been feeling about it, his own problems. The only thing that hadn't been on his mind was the fact his birthday had passed whilst he was a captive. Of course, he had told Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania about it, and mentioned it to the Nobles when he had gotten back, but apart from that, it hadn't passed his mind. He had just went to head back to his regular routine. It was almost like a self defence mechanism for himself. If he acted like everything was normal, then he wouldn't have to think about what him and Cora had went through. And then have to think about how they got off lightly compared to the other Jedi. The only time he had even relaxed since getting back was the conversation he had with Colette Colette . Though he hadn't been talking to her as much as he had wanted to because well...the whole "joke" that she brought up, about Kahlil and Valery asking when they were going to get together actually scared the Mirialan. It wasn't something he wanted to worry about.

Either way, Shan's birthday was still one of the furthest things from his mind, as he had been told to head to Niv Hani to meet them for...something. The fact it was kept a secret from him meant it must have been something important. Secret training? Or maybe they needed him for something specific? Neither of those mattered though as he had already hopped into his interceptor and headed off to the location as soon as he had gotten the message. Once he arrived, Shan swiftly realised that whilst he may have not even put any thought towards his birthday or celebrating it...The Nobles had. Well, of course they would have, but it wasn't something Shan had actually expected. Then again, who exactly expects a surprise birthday party?

Braze's anticipation practically bubbled over as he prepared for Shan's birthday, a celebration that held more significance to him than just any gathering of friends. His relationship with Shan, the pacifist healer padawan, was still blossoming, and he wanted to mark the occasion with gifts that were both thoughtful and might complement the boy’s interests.

The first gift was a carefully chosen, technically advanced tourniquet. This practical item, was equipped with the latest technology but also held traditional functionality to its design. It was something Braze hoped would be appreciated as a useful life saving tool.

For the second gift, Braze had selected something more engaging – a spherical puzzle. The intricately designed orb was more than just a test of wit and patience; hidden within its core was a secret compartment, that housed a special surprise.

Braze had carefully wrapped each object with black and silver wrappings and carried them in his hands fussing at the bows as a means of dispersing nervous energy.

As Braze waited among the other guests, his eyes often strayed to the entrance, anticipating Shan's arrival. The setting for the celebration was simple yet warm.

Braze's thoughts lingered on the fragile nature of relationships forged in times of conflict. The uncertainty of their circumstances made gatherings like this all the more important. Today, more than ever, Braze was resolved to make this time count, to create lasting, meaningful memories.

NOBLE HOUSEHOLD

Outfit

Makko didn't imagine that a party at the Noble household with padawans and children about would be raucous event, so he had come dressed in what he thought was relatively formal going out attire. A nice coat over a vest. Muted colours, not too much on show, nothing lit up. It was toned down as far as Makko was concerned.

Of course he would usually decide that he was warm or wanted to show off his tattoos, discard whichever nice shirt or coat he wore and lose it. That always hurt, because he truly enjoyed nice clothes but didn't have the credits to go with it.

Makko knocked on the door to the household and took a half step back. He hadn't known what to get Shan as a present so had got some vouches for his own favourite holonet clothes store.

The door was opened by Vera.

"Oh hey," Makko said. "Here for the party, not babysitting for once."

A wave of his hand to indicate his outfit and the card he carried helped make the point.

"Hey Makko!" Vera exclaimed as energetically as always, but she likely still felt different. Vera had grown quite a lot in the last year or so, and she was starting to mature more and more.

But even so, that little smirk of mischief was still there.

"Come inside, we got snacks!"

His enthusiastic grin was entirely honest. Makko always liked free food.

He stepped inside and close the door behind him. The best thing about sugary snacks was that this time, he wasn't going to have to try and wrangle five excitable children towards something approaching a sensible bed time.

Makko might have been roped into babysitting because another padawan on the Noble rota had pulled out, but he cared about the Noble children. Just less when they were hyper and needed to be asleep.

Makko had always tried to look out for the youngest in Fractal State. Whilst the Noble children had an amazing, supportive household, Makko still found it satisfying to help out when he could.

"You and the brothers and sisters all here for the party?" Makko asked.

"Aeryn Jade Noble," Valery said with narrowed eyes, as the oldest of the triplets tried to stuff her face with snacks before the guests had even arrived. The little girl giggled in response, and quickly started waddling away to her siblings, who were playing with some of the balloons Valery had intentionally not hung up to the ceiling. That way they wouldn't try to rip them down somehow, and just keep their grabby hands focused on the balloons that were in reach.

Sometimes a parent had to be clever.

"Hey love? I think Shan should be here any moment now," Valery said with a smile at Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble . Vera and Aris were already in position to help guests flood inside and get settled, so everything seemed to be taken care of. Perhaps it was a bit silly to be so organized for just a fun day, but Valery wanted it to feel special for Shan.

She knew this was a newer experience to him.

Soon enough, the doorbell rang, and Vera was there the quickest. She opened it up to greet Makko and let him inside, before guiding him to the living room. "Mhm! The whole family is here," Vera said, and if he were to look around, he'd spot the triplets playing throughout the house, uncaring for who else was around.

Valery offered Makko a welcoming smile as well, and walked over to greet him. "Good to see you again, Makko. Glad you could come — I'm sure Shan will appreciate it."

It was fascinating to Colette that these parties existed. To not only have it be a surprise for some reason but to also celebrate an individual surviving another year. While such things as getting older was often celebrated amongst Colette's people they weren't really made into the main event as much as a small side-thing where people happily shared their best memories with said person in the last year to emphasize that they were important to the people that they surrounded themselves with.

As such, Colette hadn't really brought anything other than herself, because to her that was enough. Not in any self-deluded belief of being more important than others but because she simply believed that Shan was her friend for who she was and it was wrong to put any kind of value on that. It was, by all accounts, a worthless existence of the best kind.

Now, that did not mean however that Colette hadn't brought anything. Her addition was located amongst the food items on a counter nearby. The kid had asked Valery to please let her borrow a hunting rifle with which she had brought back a small bounty of game that she had proceeded to then expertly field dress and butcher when the children couldn't see.

While she had considered giving Shan the skins and furs of the little creatures, she figured he most likely didn't want them and had them put away for later use. The meats however were dried into a jerky-like food that Colette had also mixed with a bunch of equally dry foraged fruits that she had picked herself, and a few nuts she had to get at the store. All in all it was neatly mixed into a bowl of trail mix that, she feared, would only really appeal to herself.

Nonetheless, Colette hurried away to get dressed as the others which in reality just meant a quick shower and her putting on a sweater to hide the wound on her shoulder that was by all accounts still taking some time to settle in before it disappeared completely. In truth it almost felt constricting to wear something that actually covered her arms, as if this white woolen knitwork would somehow shrink and encase her.

Well, maybe not quite. Colette joined the others in good time for Shan to arrive. It would be good to see him again. It was always just kind of nice to see Shan whenever he was around, he was good people. Better than most, in fact. Except maybe Valery.

Actually…

Nah.

Unless…

Hmmm, no.

It had been a little while since Katherine had seen Shan, between the ongoing conflicts and the Mirialan’s apparent time as a captive to Sith. The winged Padawan was still kicking herself about that, wishing she had been around to help him in some way. But then...she had been dealing with her own problems around the same time.

Katherine had been informed about the surprise birthday party by the Nobles. It was somewhat ironic that it was taking place at their home, as Katherine had only just recently spent some time there, before leaving for a meditative retreat.

But she supposed being around others would help both of them return to some degree of ‘normalcy’. It took Katherine sometime to feel comfortable around others again, in fear that she might become a danger to them. Fortunately, the opportunity to meditate helped clear her mind somewhat.

Plus, the time she had been given to figure out a present for Shan had kept her occupied. Not that Katherine had any idea what would make for a suitable gift. So she went for what made sense in her mind, something that she hoped Shan would like.

Katherine landed just outside the Noble’s home, kicking up a little dirt as her wings settled. She was dressed in an Epicanthix dress, one that Valery had helped pick out during their trip into Niv Hani not too long ago. In her hand was a small box, sizable enough to fit in her palm. Within it was a necklace, with the Mirialan word for ‘Healer’ hanging from it.

The Padawan offered a small smile as the door was opened after her knock. “Hope I’m not too late, had to make a stop at the city to pick up the present.

As guests began to filter in, Cora bopped a ballon over to one of the triplets. She watched, smiling, as Aurra giggled and stretched her little hands up high to swat the balloon back. This had been going on for a solid fifteen minutes, with the toddler showing no signs of losing interest in their little game.

After Thule, Cora divided her time between Coruscant and Niv Hani. True to their word, the Nobles had set up a guest room for the Padawan to stay in when she wanted a break, or just felt like being around the family.

She still felt bad about Shan's birthday passing them by on Thule. Though the Mirialian didn't seem to care as much, those around Shan wanted to make him feel loved and appreciated. For her part, Cora had gifted him a hand-painted, ornate tea set and custom tea blend popular with the Ukatian aristocracy. With it, she included the very specific instruction on how to properly brew the tea - failure to do so could lead to the drink becoming terribly hallucinogenic.

One guest in particular pulled her attention away from their game and towards the door. His presence, sensed through the frayed bond that tethered them, could be felt before Makko stepped through the threshold. Her gaze lingered for a second-

"Co-wa!" Aurra giggled, pointing to the balloon that had floated through the air and now stuck to the side of her head. As she retrieved the balloon from her hair, Cora grimaced as static pulled fine blonde strands out of alignment, messing them.

"I think it looks better on you, actually." She declared musically, placing the balloon on the toddler’s head. So chic!”

The surprise was something that Shan wasn't sure how to react to, as he wandered into the home and looked around at everyone. Shan wasn't sure what he was supposed to say or do. Thank them? Laugh it off? Make a joke? "Oh...Hello...there. I suppose...the mission is important enough to need all of us? In all seriousness...erh...thank you?" Shan gave an awkward chuckle at that, rubbing the back of his neck as he debated what to do. There were dozens of things that were on his mind and so he just did the first thing that came to his mind. Stepping over towards Colette Colette and pulling her in for an awkward hug. Frowning for a moment, as something seemed...off about her. Was it her outfit? Was there something different about her hair? No. No. That wasn't important. "It's erm...great to see you. See you all."

But now Shan had to go and thank the others directly, hurrying over towards Braze Braze first, with a small smile on his face. He wasn't really that close with Jasper's padawan, but Shan had heard plenty of things about the young lad...Whoa. That was strange. Thinking of someone else as being young. Wow. He was already feeling old. Was this how Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and Valery Noble Valery Noble felt? He shook his head at that thought, trying not to focus on it. "Thanks for showing up. Feel free to...enjoy what you can I guess? I dunno what's happening so. Never been much of a birthday person." This was a...nice distraction for him. He actually enjoyed being around people.

Then he came to Makko Vyres Makko Vyres . He's important to Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania right? Or was...Shan wasn't too sure himself. Was he meant to go in for a high five? A hug? Makko seemed too cool for...both of those. So Shan just gave a short wave. "Thanks for showing up. But erh...Cora might be around here somewhere, if you want to talk her. Pretty sure you two are close?" By the Force. Was he putting his foot in his mouth? He ran his hand through his hair, trying to figure out what else to say before shrugging his shoulders. "I should get to seeing the others but...if you ever want to chat, I'm around." At the mentioning of Cora, Shan did wave over in her direction, but she seemed too busy with the triplets. He'd chat to her later.

When it came to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and Valery Noble Valery Noble however? Shan practically rushed over to the pair in the same way he had with Colette, and tried to throw his arms over the pair of them. Whilst it wasn't something he'd normally celebrate, the fact that they had set this up for him...well...there was a reason why Shan thought of Kahlil as being a better dad than his actual dad. And Valery...well, at the moment it felt wrong for him to think of her as a mother, so he just thought of her as a very nice...aunt. Yes. Aunt. Perfect. "Thank you...both of you." Shan wasn't someone to get emotional. Especially in a group setting, but if this had been private? The Mirialan would be sobbing his heart out.

The final person to get an energetic greeting was Katherine Holt Katherine Holt . Shan ran straight over towards her as well, wrapping both of his arms around his fellow Padawan. He hadn't seen her for a while, and he'd be lying if he had said he wasn't worried about her. All of the noble Padawans were like family to him, or at least very close to him so that meant Katherine was another one. "No. No. It's fine. I just showed up. But you didn't have to get a gift. None of you did." The Padawan cleared his throat, glancing over towards all of the people who had shown up. "Just getting to know all of you is the greatest gift of all."

"Shan!"

Saria entered the party with a far more stern expression on her face than others may have, walking her way through the apartment of the Nobles with authority in her step, pointing a finger at the older Mirialan padawan. Her cheeks puffed up with irritation as she crossed her arms, unconcerned with whatever conversation he had been having.

"You scared the life out of me," she scowled, giving a pout as she turned her head away. "Making me feel irrationally about a situation completely out of my control."

She hated that. Saria was a young woman who prided herself in being able to handle any situation rationally and with her head held high. What was she supposed to do when her friend was quite literally somewhere that she couldn't reach? Her irritation very quickly left, however, and the girl very quickly went to give Shan a hug. A brisk one, of course. The little diplomat very quickly stepped back to recomposed herself.

"I'm glad you've returned in one piece," Saria noted. "Please though, don't make a habit of getting whisked away by shady characters. Oh, right."

Saria reached into the pocket of her jacket, drawing out a firey gemstone fragment.

"I found this recently," the Mirialan frowned. "Some criminal was trying to pawn it off in the underworld. It... feels force attuned. I'm not sure how, but I feel you could make use of it."

At that moment, Saria looked around, her face growing a lot more flustered when she noticed everyone else around who had crowded in to speak to Shan. It was his birthday after all.

"Oh, dear," the girl muttered. "I wasn't interrupting any conversation, was I?"

A hug? Makko seemed too cool for...both of those. So Shan just gave a short wave.

Makko had been looking across the room and looked up in surprise at Shan's approach. Makko was happy to blithely cut right through Shane's awkward approach. He offered a hand and when Shan took it for a shake, Makko drew him into a brief hug and a strong shoulder clap.

"Thanks for showing up. But erh...Cora might be around here somewhere, if you want to talk her. Pretty sure you two are close?" By the Force. Was he putting his foot in his mouth?

"Yeah..." went Makko. It was all he could say. He had already noticed that she was here.

So chic!”

Makko had stopped to watch her playing with Aurra. He had not seen Cora look up at him him and thought his silent observation would go unnoticed.

Makko had had a difficult time. He liked to think that he'd seen better days, when he'd been so unafraid in his youth. Looking back, there had been violence and pain, doing whatever it took to work his way up the gang hierarchy and even grooming vulnerable younger kids to run spice for them. Ignorance had been bliss. Those days had never caused him the acute kind of distress he had kept suffering since leaving Denon.

Makko had gone almost an entire week without sleep after her return from Thule. Oddly, seeing her playing with a balloon brought a strange sense of calm and a fondness he worried would never be reciprocated again. She'd gone to Ukatis to protect her family, she'd killed Hector to do the same.

He ran his hand through his hair, trying to figure out what else to say before shrugging his shoulders. "I should get to seeing the others but...if you ever want to chat, I'm around."

"Yeah, yeah, happy birthday! Enjoy!"

Shan had told him to go and talk to Cora but he was left awkwardly deciding where to go. That was, until he felt a tug on his right leg.

Aeryn had grabbed the leg of his trousers with her left hand. In her right hand he had the book that she always asked Makko to read. Now the three were walking, he wondered how many babysitters the Nobles would actually need at once. He was either going to have to pick his favourite or attach bungee cord to all three so they couldn't divide and conquer.

"Hey, er..." he said to Aeryn

At a party of his peers, he immediately felt the need to keep up - what Makko felt was - a cool outward demeanour. He sighed, shook his head and grinned. He was fooling no one.

"The drexl that popped a planet again?" Makko said, taking the particularly colourful book. He found a bit of wall to sit against, Aeryn sitting herself down for the story.

This place is beautiful!
Connell thought to himself as he walked up the path. A fan of architecture, he was paying attention to each crafted detail, down to the landscaping. Sure, he spent a lot of formative years on Corellia, and Kashyykk, but that just made him understand what it took to have a place like this.

Adjusting the bag slung over his back, Connell thought about the contents. The gift was a nice thick hooded leather jacket made in the Mirialan style, wrapped of course. Of course there were gifts for the hosts as well. The Noble's got a nice aged bottle of Corellian Ale (Mother hates it and Father will never miss it), Vera would get a digital diary, and the triplets would each get a stuffed animal made to look like them.

He was in a suit, and D-1 was carrying his lightsabers (but keeping a distance away, after all, it was back at the ship and this was a party). Realizing he was probably too dressy for the event, the young Jedi Knight pulled off his tie just as he was pressing the doorbell. The door opened just as he was in the middle of his task.

Ohai!

It was not often Silas had the time to attend parties, especially for those he barely knew. Shan, a padawan who was close to the Noble's was having his party at their apartment and Silas had been invited to attend. He was surprised at first, but considering Shan was a padawan of the Nobles it was starting to make more sense.

Arriving at a decent time, Silas made sure he was presentable before entering the apartment. It seemed like everyone else had made themselves at home already, the kids on the other hand, especially Vera seemed to be looking for trouble. As he walked through the crowd, he nodded every now and then to familiar faces. However, in a quieter corner of the room, a small figure with white hair was busy hitting away at his toy drumkit. For a kid his age, he was beginning to start a good rhythm instead of hitting wildly at the symbols.

"Adam... long time no see kid. I see you're still interested in your drumming" Silas smirked before gently rubbing his hair. Adam looked up at Silas and smiled at the familiar man kneeling in front of him "Hel-lo" the boy said quietly, his attention soon returning to the drumkit. It was fascinating how interested he was in the sounds around him, as well as how fast he was picking up and testing new things on instruments. If he didn't make it as a Jedi, he was for sure going to make it as a musician.

Looking behind him, he soon noticed another familiar face in the form of Cora. Giving Adam his space, he came up behind the fellow Jedi and stood to the side of her with his arms folded "Afternoon Cora, it looks like you've made a new friend then..."

Oh there was a lot of people coming in.

Kahlil smiled from where he stood within the kitchen. Still cooking, actually. Baking more specifically. Cake. A big cake. A big birthday cake. For Shan. He chuckled just a little as he watched the gathering grow. There were a lot of people that wanted to celebrate Shan. Good. He deserved it. He returned the hug the moment Shan rushed over, patting his head for a brief moment. "You're family, Shan. We celebrate birthdays of family in this household."

Then he was back to decorating the cake. It wasn't actually anything fancy, just a typical white cake with Happy Birthday iced on top. But he certainly went all out with the ingredients and the taste.

"Go. Talk to your friends, alright? Cake'll be ready soon."

Colette leaned in and then out before deciding that it was probably best to sort of just lean into the hug and pat her hand against the Mirialan's back with her uninjured arm. It was a shorter hug than she had expected before he pulled back with a surprising quickness that caught her almost off-guard.

"Yeah, it's… It's great, of course." Colette said and cleared her throat as Shan quickly hurried off to talk to the others instead. "See you around, probably. Have fun."

One arm crossed her chest, the other rested against it while she reached up to hide her face with her hand as she went over what she had said. Probably? Have fun? She would probably see him at the party they had thrown specifically for him? A long exhale blew from her nose as she tried to forget even saying that. What next? She would maybe see him talk to the others? Would she perhaps be able to observe as he opened the wrapped gifts from everyone else other than her?

Get it together, Colette.

The kid let out another sigh and straightened her back. Makko was here, Cora was here, a lot of other people she knew were here, even Katherine. They seemed just fine. Colette began to sway back and forth between standing on her toes and rolling on her heels.

Valery turned alongside her husband and pulled Shan Pavond Shan Pavond into a big hug. Padawans always became part of the family, and Valery viewed him the same way her husband did. He was like a son to them, and they'd protect him like he was, and they'd certainly celebrate important things in his life like he was. Silly birthday parties included, especially since she figured that he never really had one before.

Certainly not one like this.

Once Shan rushed back out of the kitchen to greet the other guests, Valery turned to Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and smiled, "It's good to see him so happy, huh?" She didn't want to bother him too much while he was making the birthday cake — it had to be perfect — but she still pulled him into a little side-hug. "Did you see the attention the triplets were getting? Cora and Aurra are playing with balloons, Silas is drumming with Adam and Aeryn is targeting Makko again." She chuckled at the last part especially. Whenever Makko visited, especially Aeryn seemed to be really drawn to him.

It made her motherly heart feel so warm.

"I just haven't seen Aris yet. Do you know where he is?"

Vera, however, was on a war path. With a grin on her face, she looked over at Colette Colette and Shan Pavond Shan Pavond , and watched a somewhat awkward hug, followed by more awkward conversation. The things she felt in the Force were similar to when she caught Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania and Makko Vyres Makko Vyres that one time, but they had been kissing in the Temple of all places, and not trying to hide anything.

Why was Colette not kissing Shan?

"You like Shan, huh?!" Vera blurted out, loud enough for anybody paying attention to hear. "I can see it," Vera told Colette with what looked like an innocent smile and a big nod, but there was definitely more to it.

Valery Noble Valery Noble

Although Colette's cheeks were quickly turning red, they were just as quickly drained of all color as soon as Colette heard her. Colette slowly turned towards the kid with a smile as stiff as duracrete on a worker's gloves.

"Vera…" Colette spoke through her teeth as she slowly knelt down and placed her hand on the child's shoulder. "Shut up."

The space between her thumb and index finger began to press against the child's shoulder like a vice closing in on a piece of wood, but Colette's expression and very evident panic was just as frozen in place in her face as it had been when the child had first fired its precision shot.

Makko drew him into a brief hug and a strong shoulder clap
Shan actually let out a slight yelp at the surprise hug, having not expected it. Though it was actually a nice surprise. It was a reminder to him that just because he didn't interact with that many members of the Jedi Order, that didn't mean they were strangers. He'd have to remember that, instead of being intimidated by other people in the Order. Either way, he had to head off so that he could talk to the other guests! He had to make sure everything was alright at the end of the day. He might not have set this up, but he felt like it was his responsibility to make sure people were enjoying it.

The sight of the cake that Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble l was making caught Shan ever so slightly off guard now that he focused on it. He hadn't really had a cake before, so the idea of having one being made for him...Well, it felt wrong. Not that he'd complain about it though. he understood it was normal to have a cake for a birthday. He just...knew he rarely ever had a normal birthday. Either way, he gave Valery Noble Valery Noble and Kahlil another hug before zooming off to talk to more people. "Of course I'll go talk to them!" Though Shan did frown for a moment, glancing over towards Colette who once again seemed...off to him. "...When the cake is ready, can you give a bit to Colette first? I don't mind."

He wasn't overtly social but...there were so many people he felt like he had to thank. There were a few strangers, Shan did make sure to wave in the direction of Silas Westgard Silas Westgard and Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor . Strangers were just friends you haven't met yet anyway! Though he did keep glancing over towards the piles of boxes off to the side, and the wrapped up items people were bringing in...Was he meant to open those? Eh. They probably weren't important. He hadn't been given anything wrapped up for his birthday before so.

Before he could think anymore about that however, he heard a rather stern voice calling out his name, turning around to spot Saria! Another grin spreading across his face. Shan wasn't too sure why, but Saria was another person who had always felt like family to him, even though she wasn't any of the Nobles' padawans. "Hey! It's not like I asked to be kidnapped! And anyway it could have been wor-..." Shan hesitated for a moment. The smile fading from his face alongside his good mood. It could have been a lot worse. He was lucky to even be here...celebrating when other people couldn't...No. No. He couldn't let his guilt ruin his party. Not right now. The gift Saria was giving him managed to brighten the Mirialan's mood somewhat as he held it in his hand, trying to feel the crystal. It definitely was attuned to the Force... "Oh! Thanks Saria! This is the first gift I've go-..." The Mirialan blinked for a moment...before looking over towards all of the boxes and wrapped up items. "...Are those meant to be gifts?"

If that was the case...Shan glanced over towards Saria, breaking out into a huge grin. "You aren't interrupting anything! Don't worry. I'm gonna go open those...in a second. Need to go and grab a few people." Of course, he wasn't going to open everything whilst there wasn't everyone watching. He just wanted to open a few things with his friends. So after telling Saria to head over towards the table, Shan headed over towards Braze Braze . "Hey! I'm gonna go open my presents soon if you want to head over." He also did the same to Katherine Holt Katherine Holt since she didn't seem too busy.

Finally though, he headed over towards Colette Colette and Vera, blinking at the expression on Colette's face for a moment before looking over towards Vera. "Are you...two okay? I was gonna ask if you wanted to come and help me open some of my presents?" He jabbed his thumb back over towards the table of presents before smiling at the pair, not even knowing the...awkwardness that Vera had caused.

From the corner of her eyes, Cora caught the form of Makko as he seated himself against a wall with a very colorful, un-cool children's book. Aeryn was at his heels, cozying up for her umpteenth read of a story she'd surely had memorized by now.

Her heart rate spiked suddenly at the sight, surprising even herself. A year ago, Makko wouldn't have been caught dead reading a silly book to a toddler. A slow grin started to spread across her lips, interrupted by Aurra's giggling and a familiar voice.

"Silas!" She turned, giving him a fuller smile. "It's good to see you again." Aurra had attempted to chuck a purple balloon at the newcomer, which floated harmlessly towards the Knight's head. "Miss Aurra and I found ourselves engaged in an afternoon of Balloon Wars. I do believe she's won."

Their guest of honor had arrived, making his rounds and greeting those in attendance.

"It looks like we're doing presents soon," She gestured toward Shan and the table laden with gifts. "Shall we?"

"Peasants!" Aurra repeated cheerfully.

"You shouldn't grab someone like that if you're trying to hide how you feel." Aris sipped from a mug of hot chocolate casually as he stood behind Vera. She kind of brought this on herself, but she still was his sister, and he wasn't going to let her face the wrath of Colette alone. So, he doubled down and poured some gas on the fire. That seemed like the smart thing to do. "You both are being really awkward around each other. You should talk to him before it gets weirder."

Business done, he stepped over to Vera to take her hand and gently pull her along.

"Vera, c'mon. Stop tormenting our guests."

"Would you like to give her the fist slice yourself?"

Kahlil raised a brow as he glanced to Shan before smirking. Just a little smirk. It was good their Padawan's were good friends, though the fact he was so awkward about it had Kahlil rather curious himself on what was going on.

"Aris is watching, I imagine. He's not the type to make problems after all."

"You aren't interrupting anything! Don't worry. I'm gonna go open those...in a second. Need to go and grab a few people."

"Right," Saria nodded.

The girl glanced around, very quickly realizing that she didn't really know anyone. Even Master Noble really. This was a sign to the young woman that she had really spent far too much time in her studies. She just needed to find someone to introduce herself to...

Makko Vyres Makko Vyres , Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania , and Silas Westgard Silas Westgard all seemed to be preoccupied with the Noble children, and she most certainly didn't want to interrupt them. Colette Colette was similar, though it seemed far more awkward of an interaction. Everyone seemed to be shifting over to watch Shan open his other gifts, so that kind of left her in a bind on who to talk to.

Which was when she took note of a striking pair of wings. The young woman who Shan had been talking to last seemed her best bet. They certainly looked like a friendly individual. All she had to do was introduce herself in a polite manner and start dialogue. Easy.

"Hello," the Mirialan greeted as she stepped over, giving a warm smile. "I believe I've seen you around the temple before, but I'm afraid I've never had the time to properly make myself acquainted. I'm Saria."

That seemed substantial.
