STRENGTHS
  • Twin Bridges - The Kharon has two command bridges; the dorsal bridge is the primary command center of the ship and sector communications hub, and the ventral bridge is dedicated to starfighter operations and fleet movements.
  • Room for One More? - The Kharon is a battlecarrier and carries an amazing forty squadrons of spacecraft.
  • Sector Command Ship - The Kharon is also a sector command ship, connecting to all fleets within a given sector.
  • Highly Automated and Symbiotic Linked - The Kharon is highly automated thanks to its N&Z systems, but similar to the ships before it, Imperial engineers opted for less automation in the bridge. Using the FAE/S-07 Symbiotic Ghost Link allows its bridge crews to truly multitask. Due to the "Brain Strain" that this system creates, there are three bridge crews per bridge; typically consisting of a morning, night, and backup crew. This counts up to just about a standard bridge crew, but a reduced number on the bridge at one time allows for swapping if one bridge crew member is injured.
WEAKNESSES
  • Rear Vulnerability - Due to the unique construction of the Kharon, there were not many places for weapon emplacements. Only a handful of Light Beam Cannons and Ultra-Beam Cannons are rear-facing.
  • Highly Automated and Symbiotic Linked - If the internal AI were to be compromised, the low personnel count would make it hard to counteract this imbalance causing the functionality of the ship to decrease significantly. Additionally, while there are three different bridge crews, if one station were to have all its members injured, the station would be unfulfilled, making the ship's overall function decrease.
  • EMP/Ion - The Kharon has many systems that are a boon to its crew and overall function. However, with all electronically advanced anything, EMP/Ion-based weaponry can rid this vessel of those boons, with enough damage.

DESCRIPTION
The Kharon-Class Sector Battlecarrier is the embodiment of Imperial Confederation war doctrine; a sovereign fortress built to dominate the void and project power across entire star sectors. Manufactured by N&Z Starworks in conjunction with the Naval Corps of Engineering under classified contracts, this vessel combines the raw brutality of a battleship with the logistical reach and strike capability of a fleet carrier. It is a high-value asset reserved only for the Confederation's most critical theaters. Wrapped in matrix armor composed of Trimantium and Fyrirdögun, and further masked by Skuggalegt P-pattern stealth polymer, the Kharon is both a visual void and a physical bulwark; designed to absorb punishment and return it tenfold.

Its offensive and defensive suites are without peer. The Kharon carries Kyber-imbued octuple turbolaser barbettes, twelve megamaser equivalents, and a host of beam cannons, ionized plasma weapons, and guided missile systems that allow it to hammer starship formations and planetary defenses. The armament is bolstered by reactive targeting matrices and the FAE/S-09 Active Harmonizing System to synchronize every barrage. The Kharon carries an immense forty squadrons of starfighters and support craft, housed within cavernous launch bays served by accelerating rail-launch tubes positioned in its twin forward arms. Its twin bridges, the dorsal for command and strategic oversight, the ventral for fleet coordination and starfighter control, enable split-function operations in real time. The vessel is a nexus of command, communication, and combat superiority.

However, with power comes vulnerability. The Kharon's advanced systems rely heavily on automation. Advanced systems like Symbiotic Ghost Links, the EPM Array, and Bio-Hexacrypted networks keep it functionally superior, but with this sophistication comes risk: should its AIs be compromised, or a bridge team incapacitated, the very backbone of its power could falter. Its rear remains lightly defended due to structural limitations, relying mostly on ultra and light beam coverage. Furthermore, its electronic sophistication makes it susceptible to concentrated EMP and ion attacks, which can disable its core advantages. Yet despite these risks, in capable hands, the Kharon is not simply a ship; it is a symbol of sectoral dominance, a fleet unto itself, and the executioner's axe of Imperial will. The Kharon crosses the stars not to explore, but to deliver judgment.
