Faction House Io: Star Way Raids

PIRACY

With the fall of various factions, thousands of people, threatening to turn into millions a day are flocking to House Diplomats, begging for asylum and the means to seek vengeance on those who wronged them as well as wealth and power.
The House, all too pleased to take them in and convert more to their bizarre culture, have established a vetting process by having prospective citizens serve as Citizens-In-Training aboard older, less advanced vessels than what the House brings to an actual conflict. To that end the super old school Interdictor Class Cruiser, found in ready amounts as derelicts in space that can be repaired to full condition shockingly quickly, serves as an excellent testing ground. Surreptitiously, it allows the House Government to watch and judge who is a worthy candidate and who is a possible spy, as well as the occasional clandestine "Social Experiment."

The Interdictor Cruiser Whisper of Ursula is often the ship prospective citizens with a proclivity for aggression are sent to in order to gain first hand training in space way piracy, camping in space lanes and intercepting Military Grade vessels, often smaller than themselves, and sometimes even larger. Greatly is the Interdictor of the ancient Sith Empire under Malak often dismissed, to one's peril.

Countess Arianna Belasko, adoptive Mother of the Matriarch, has chosen to oversee one such act of piracy, in its attempt to catch and hold onto a Venator Freight Carrier, carrying rare, experimental technologies out of former SJC Territory. Agents aboard the vessel have sabotaged it's hyperspace arrestor so it will not detect the gravity well the interdictor throws up in time...

OBJECTIVE 1: STARFIGHTER COMBAT

Sub-Objective 1
Countess Belasko desires the Vessel to be as intact as possible. Even the weapons are to be taken whole. Attack with EMP/Ion weapons to disable the whole of its armament via coordinating the attacks of Nuetralizer TIE Bombers and assist in disabling point defense

Sub-Objective 2

This is complicated however by the unexpected arrival of a few squadrons of heavily armed X-Wings that were added to escort the vessel at the last second. Take flight in a TIE/Ret and destroy these squadrons by any means necessary

OBJECTIVE 2: ENEMY WITHIN

The Countess desires as few casualties as possible, promising one Bronzium Coin added to the pay of the House Interdictor crew for this particular assignment for every 7 crew members taken alive. To facilitate this, further acts of sabotage must commence to lower internal defense. Fight as one of the undercover House Agents sent aboard, and make sure they never see you coming, and do not kill unless left with no alternative. A crewman dead is coin not earned

OBJECTIVE 3: BOARDING PARTY

Fight as one of many heavily armed boarding teams equipped with both lethal and non lethal weapons. For every squadmate who comes back alive the boarding team members will be allowed one crate of sensitive cargo taken from the vessel.

Happy Hunting.

Countess Belasko awaited in her lavish personal quarters aboard the Gaze of Ursula, Multiple feeds showing her how the crew would react and how the battle would go. The House Navy, as it grew more sophisticated in its tactics, would have to prove it could do the job using inferior equipment. Both High and low ranks would be observing and guiding potential Navy oriented citizens into aggressive but controlled Piracy of its enemies.

The gorgeous blond Countess was tempted to order nothing but killing but the point was to teach self control. The person actually hiding under Arianna's flesh was, as ever, revolted by how tempted this persona was to start killing when an opportunity presented itself. But it had been having more trouble reigning her in since the death of Lancelot.

"Crew of the Whisper of Ursula, this is Countess Belasko speaking. The vessel is caught in our interdiction field and we are moving to cut off their escape. Launch fighters and boarding parties. Good Luck...may the Dark Side serve you..." The Countess said in an almost lustful purr of the voice

The HIMA system on Alita-1 detected the activation of the interdiction field and dropped the ship just outside the field, allowing Akemi to quickly view the battlefield as her starcruiser streaked into combat. She detected several family members already here and immediately contacted the countess Arianna Belasko Arianna Belasko <<This is Akemi, I have entered the system and will engage the defending warships, beginning to access the target's network immediately.... how are you grandmother?>> she smiled sweetly as she happily used the familial term for the countess.

A trio of x-wings boldly tested the defensive perimeter of the Io star cruiser, with a glance, Akemi commanded the heavy beam cannons in that quadrant to activate in ion mode, peppering the nearby starfighters with magenta beams of highly ionised particles, the first and second were disabled in short order before the third turned to disengage.

Akemi quickly scanned the communicaton channels of the X-wings looking for access vulnerabilities, she sent out a warning to the other fighters to leave this combat space, there was no need to slaughter innocent soldiers for a simple asset acquisition run. She looked back over at the approaching shape of the target. A barrage of defensive fire started raking the shields of Alita-1 and the automated systems quickly reinforced the shields in that arc to defend the vessel. Advanced targeting systems began launching Aster torpedoes with pinpoint precision into the weapon mounts of the target vessel as her shield disruption weapons attempted to strip holes in the coverage to allow the explosive payloads through. Akemi attempted to cut a gap in the enemy defenses that her force cylinders could use to deliver a boarding force.

Dismissing the augmented perception which placed Akemi on the bridge of her vessel, her surroundings were quickly replaced by her real location. The Nuetralizer stood on a dark metal platform underneath the superstructure of her vessel, standing enjoying the feeling that the vacuum of space illicited on her tactile sensors, her hair "blew" in the zero gravity and behind her were dozens of her model 2 brothers. On her order a humming sensation filled the void and the space between the two ships simmered. The force cylinder would allow her squads to cross the empty space and board the Venator. Akemi stepped out first and began running across in front of her warriors. The hole she had cut in the enemy point defence left the two cylinders unmolested, but an x-wing did foolishly try its luck, being quickly blown into atoms by the guns of Alita-1. The network informed her it had been too high risk to fire to disable.

Boarding lasers built into the force cylinder burnt a hole into the hull of the target tray the House Io forces could use for access. They were very quickly aboard and began searching for defenders, attempting incapacitations instead of kills as requested.

Catalina had been in her quarters for most of this trip, in a sort of Droid meditation, her laser knife spear in front of her as she sat cross legged.

Normally one of House Io's cargo haulers, Catalina had transferred to this much more primitive yet still incredibly sturdy interdictor to be away from the Brain Demon Cultists. Just ordinary Nuetralizers and Organic Citizens.

Catalina was still debating whether or not to take the Free Will upgrade, which would disable her Loyalty Programming. So far, she hadn't, scared of living in a world where she had no inherent purpose, no orders to receive.

What would she be without House Io? Would life even be worth living?

Catalina was a member of the Green Stripes guild, the stoics of the House, started by Model 1's not sharing the taste for humor their brothers indulged in.

When the call came in, Catalina made sure to back up her mind on a Gabonna Memory Crystal, and then grabbed her laser knife and Type 2 Sword and proceeded to the hangar, where she was assigned to Squadron 2 . Her TIE/Ret, bearing House Io's triangle, gleamed.

Catalina had been one of the earliest deployed General Purpose Models, used in a combat capacity as a pilot due to her design line's naturally quick reaction times. To be in a fighter again after such a long time was nostalgia.

Catalina climbed in, giving a nod to her fellow pilots as they Launched. Due to her experience, she was Squadron Leader. She had ordered her Squadron not to have anything but Ion Weaponry equipped. She wanted the supplies, not butchered Civilian crewmates.

She soon launched and the black of space greeted her, and she was soon in attack formation, directing assaults on the escorts.

The General Purpose Nuetralizers were all generally the lowest ranking citizens but fulfilled vital jobs and roles, to the point the penalty for another House Member attacking one without cause was grounds for especially harsh punishments. Leave time could be especially rewarding.

But like nearly all Nuetralizers, she inherently craved the thrill of battle as her real reward.

Catalina dived, her Ion cannons shutting down the electronics of an enemy fighter and taking down the ships point defenses when possible. She found herself being chased and weaved through space firing in bursts and hitting another fighter.

Catalina smiled. Today was a good day.

Three squadrons of the 10th Khemost Aerospace Infantry Wing swarmed out from the dorsal pit of the Whisper of Ursula like wasps from a nest—a seemingly chaotic, yet coordinated dance driven by wings of fire and plasma. Chasianna Io was one amidst their number, her senses racing as she sped towards the growing starfighter melee where retro TIEs and X-Wings contested the battlespace for superiority.

It wouldn't be long before a new party joined the furball—Butterflies.

“Crescents! Initiate attack pattern Forn six!” Bellatrix Io called out, her voice singing with confidence. Indeed, battlespaces such as this was where Butterflies were at their best. With their low mass compared to starfighters and the advanced, vectored thrusters on their propulsion packs, they would be able to quickly outmaneuver, swarm, and destroy the X-Wings, before moving on towards the freight carrier. Her Crescent Squadron was well-drilled, agile, and efficient. Not only were they the best squadron in the 10th Khemost Aerospace Infantry Wing, but they were also the best squadron in the entire Butterfly Corps.

Or so, Bellatrix believed.

“Copy that, Elite!” Chasianna Io answered, addressing her superior officer by her rank. Fortunately, after the missions over Lanteeb and Velabri, the Aetharian was no longer green. While she was still the newest member of the squadron, the Aetharian had since shed the rank of Cadet and now wore the markings of an Apprentice on her bosom.

Immediately, Chasianna moved to follow her superior’s orders. The Butterfly threw her body into an acrobatic break turn as she drew a bead on the tail of an enemy X-Wing. Holding her gaze on the target, the machine guns on her propulsion pack let loose a hail of slugs towards the craft’s engines, but it wasn’t nearly enough to penetrate the craft’s shields. Even so, it was enough for the X-Wing pilot to drive his craft into a maximum-G dive as he craned his neck in an attempt to get a visual on the tiny zero-G trooper on his tail. All the while, Chasianna cut inside the X-Wing’s dive before bringing her forearms to bear on her target’s canopy, energy torpedo launchers charged and primed to fire. With a mental command, Chasianna willed them to do so, casting a pair of white-blue lances into the void that connected with the X-Wing’s canopy in an explosive splash. Her first shot had managed to overload the starfighter’s shields, while her second had connected to burn through the canopy itself, incinerating the hapless pilot in the process.

One down. Many more to go.
