Faction Hope and Providence | Galactic Alliance and Allies

HOPE AND PROVIDENCE
INTRODUCTION: ORD PROVIDENCE
Beam_Saber_2.png
At the conclusion of the SECOND GREAT HYPERSPACE WAR, much of the galaxy has been left in ruins. With Alliance Space ravaged by the Brotherhood of the Maw, even in spite of their victory, the time is now to pick up the fractured pieces and put worlds back together. In a bid to show the resolve of the Prov Godoan people, Senator Valette Puritis Yumia Valette Puritis Yumia and the Council of Elders that governs Ord Providence have arranged a charity event, coinciding with the Expedited Reconstruction Act. As the corporations of the Galaxy move to scoop up remaining assets from fallen states, Ord Providence's council hopes to prove that their world is just as prosperous as ever, sending a message to the rest of the Galactic Alliance that planets can stand on their own terms without a corporate middle man....
Ord_Providence_Event_2.png
The doors to the New House of the Goddess are open to the public, and all Galactic Alliance members and allies are invited to attend a Gala held in the Prov Godoan's holy center of worship. Guests are encouraged to bring charitable donations for a drive intended to bring reconstruction to the ravaged Corridor following the expulsion of Maw remnants. Alongside charity, guests can engage with the customs of Ord Providence, forge friendships with their brothers and sisters of the Galactic Alliance, and perhaps get the opportunity to speak with the event's organizer and hostess, Valette Puritis Yumia.
Ord_Providence_Event_1.png
A concert is being held in the commercial district of Provinia, the capital of Ord Providence. Under the holy silhouette of the New Temple of the Goddess, musicians from across the galaxy gather to participate, with the headlining act Sithspit taking center stage. Be it retreat from the Charity Gala or a simple passerby, guests may enter via attendance fee to enjoy a night filled with the top musical talent that the Galaxy has to offer.

Event Notes: All proceeds will go to Corridor reconstruction. Musical talent will be vetted prior to the event.

The pearly white halls of the New Temple of the Goddess were far more pristine then they usually were, though it wasn't considerably much. The Temple was always kept in top notch condition, after all. This was an opportunity that came very rarely, one which allowed the people of Ord Providence to show their merit to the rest of the Galaxy. The Prov Godoan people were as much of a bedrock in the Alliance as any other world, and Yumia intended to show her allies just that. Soldiers of their elite 'Mighty Ones' cast stood firm outside the Temple gates and within the structure itself. Servants rushed about the holy site, finishing the last of the preparations. Soon enough, the doors were open, and esteemed guests from across the Galaxy begun to spill into the extravagant halls of their Goddess's house. Valette herself stood behind an altar at the end of the giant hall, where those of their 'High Ones' would regularly deliver orations to pilgrims and worshipers that made their way to the Temple.

"Esteemed guests," she began, the natural acoustics of the chamber carrying her voice. "Friends and allies from across the galaxy... It is with with great pleasure and eagerness that I welcome you to the most sacred site of my people. Rebuilding after the scourge of late Brotherhood of the Maw is a matter of unsurmountable significance to all who have gathered today, and I could think of no place more fitting to host such a gathering than this holy place. Proceeds from all donations made at the entrance today will be going directly to reconstruction efforts in the corridor in light of the recent victory over Mawite holdouts."

Yumia took a moment to smooth out a wrinkle in her robes before folding her hands once more. She felt no overwhelming pressure to succeed, only certainty. Her people were already strong, after all. Their allies need only see it for themselves.

"To start off the donations today," Yumia continued, "My cabinet will be making a sixty-million credit donation to fill out one of our milestones. I hope that today we can send a message to the Galaxy, and those disheartened in our very own Alliance, that we stand as strong as ever, even on the other side of a tidal wave of annihilation. For the sake of our brothers and sisters that still live in shambles, I must thank you for attending on behalf of my people, my war-torn allies, and the bottom of my heart. Now, with that out of the way, please enjoy yourselves."

With that, Yumia would dip away from the alter, setting off to engage in conversation with the gathered guests.

After several Hapan ships had entered the system, a single shuttle had made its way down to the surface. Escorted by her Royal Guards, Kha'la Daaray had stepped outside and entered the hall to look around. It had been some time since she had last left Hapes. Still, with the Second Great Hyperspace war over, and the collapse of the Silver Jedi, she understood that the Galactic Alliance was her most likely ally in these more peaceful, yet unpredictable times.

She had to make herself visible to the wider Galaxy and gain the political allies she needed for her people to thrive.

"Make sure our donation draws enough attention. I don't care how much is required," she then told her assistant, who nodded immediately and hurried off to make arrangements for it. Hapes was a wealthy planet, and with the war never reaching the systems of the cluster, she had been able to amass even more wealth, and readied even more ships for future conflict.

She had made herself a useful ally to have.

"Ereneda? Is there anywhere you wish to go?" A guard then asked, but Kha'la just shook her head.

"For now, I'll observe."

"Can't believe a bunch o' religious folks hit us up for a gig," Klocto chuckled as the band prepared it's equipment. "You'd figure the name would be a turn off."

"Maybe they just vibe with some sweet, tasty jams," Luxar buzzed, his mechanical body giving a shrug. "That transcends any profanity."

"They still want a clean show," Xeno muttered as he tuned his guitar. "'Friendly for the whole family' or whatever. We'll just need to censor any profanity."

Klocto sighed as he set his drums up. They weren't used to censoring profanity very often, but as they traveled to play in more bizarre locations, Sithspit found that a fair amount of individuals were uneasy around swearing. Unfortunate, but their goal was bringing music to the galaxy.

It wasn't long before they had rolled out onto the front stage. A rather bustling crowd filled the square of Ord Providence's capital of Provinia. It was a beautiful city, with streets so pristine and pearly that you'd forget that you were on an inhospitable world. Unless you were Rodian, as Klocto had been quick to remind his bandmates of his natural ability to breath Clouzon-36. They were keeping it simple today. One song to open, one song at the end to close the event, leaving room in between for other talent to come in and show their stuff. And it was for charity, of course, so there was at least some positive impact more than just entertaining the masses.

"Good evening Provinia!" Xeno spoke into the microphone that had been set up on stage for him.

The thunder of excitement swept through the crowd, which the half-Nagai waited for before continuing.

"Thanks for coming out," he stated, nowhere close to as flowery as the address that Miss Yumia was giving. "Our friends in the Corridor are in a rough spot, so proceeds help a ton. Anyways... I figure we won't keep y'all waiting any longer."

And with that, smoke rolled onto the stage, and the three bandmembers began to play...

PARTY

"AAAAH YEAAAAH!!!!"

Sithspit was EPIC!! She didn't care about their origins. It was all about the music for Ceri. Always music. There was some good reason why they were all there, but she had completely forgotten about it when those first lyrics of So Far Gone drifted to her.

It drew her like candyfloss.

"Come on!" Ceri yelled joyfully as she grabbed her friend Lily's hand without ceremony and made a beeline straight for the square where the stage was raised for the different bands that would play. They wouldn't miss them at the Gala. Yes, it annoyed the adults how sidetracked Ceri got when it came to music. She was even accused of, if music jumped off a cliff, she would too.

To be fair, she probably would.

She probably wasn't the best student. She could so easily get sidetracked by some distraction of life - be it friends, music, animals or shopping. She did sometimes wonder how it was that Starlin Rand Starlin Rand hadn't gotten rid of her yet - she didn't exactly make teaching easy for him. Not on purpose though. She really did try to focus.

It just wasn't always successful - like now.

All but bubbling into the crowd, she was already bobbing along to the drumbeat, her dark hair bouncing along with her as it hung loose around her shoulders, her smile the size of two parsecs. She just loved the band. She had most of their albums on her musicplayer. Most adult Jedi would keel over if they knew of all the stuff they sang about and that she was listening to it, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. It wasn't like it made her want to walk over to the Dark Side or anything. Jeez. Old people sucked sometimes with their paranoia.

"They're just epic, aren't they?!" she hollered at Lily next to her to be heard over the crowd and music. Most other people would have felt bad for dragging a fellow Padawan along to a concert without asking - but for Ceri it was more a matter of getting some friends out of their shells in a way. Hugs were given freely and friends got dragged to whatever fun life event she wanted them all to go to.

Ceri loved life and she wanted nothing more than to share it with people.

Dress

The sudden realization of Ord Providence's existence had initially filled Loomi with a great deal of hope that she could reasonably find her origins, or at least a planet to start with. Unfortunately, a quick DNA test quashed any chance of her being from the world. Still, being on the planet was a bizarre experience. Having people walking around that were clearly Godoan like her was a strange sensation, something that she had never really experienced in recent memory. She was so used to looking so different when compared to everyone else she was surrounded by.

Her thoughts didn't linger on such a thing for long. She was going to a concert, after all, one that was raising proceeds for charity. Something about reconstruction after the war? The Godoan wasn't exactly paying attention to that part. She was just excited to go to a concert for the first time, so much so that she decided to dawn the dress that Thelma Goth Thelma Goth had tailored for her. Unfortunately, she seemed to quickly discover that she may have overdressed.

"G-golly," she stammered, slightly embarrassed. "I didn't know this wasn't fancy."

She wasn't alone, at least. Ko was with her, who was slowly becoming one of her closer friends. Loomi hoped that his height would distract from how overdressed she was. It wasn't long before the concert had started. Sithspit was the band. The sound of their music was... strange. All sounds she had never heard before, but very interesting. The vibrations of their playing caused her antennae to curl back, and the Godoan couldn't help but tap her foot a little.

"This is so strange," she noted, a befuddled look on her face. "Are all concerts like this, Ko?"

Naturally, she assumed her Kel Dor friend had much more experience with concerts than her.

It was rare where Judah felt the occasion to dress in anything more formal than the Jedi robes he often wore around the temple. The charity event was something which pushed him to do so. Judah had not forgotten that the last time he attended a charity gala. The New Way bombed Coruscant. They had all been distracted. This time Judah would not be caught off guard. Several Jedi were patrolling to ensure Coruscant would not be a target, and Judah was certain other security had been arranged for at this event.

He wanted to relax, but Judah was certain his mind would not allow him to do so. At least he looked the part, and for once his attire spoke of the wealth he actually had. The Jedi was determined to be as generous as he could be. Judah considered himself blessed in order to be a blessing.

His eyes caught a glimpse of the Hapan Queen. He smirked, remarking her incredible beauty and fiery red hair. Perhaps if he had been younger, Judah would have made his move, he still may, but his attention was on the environment around him. Where others would enjoy the night, he would be heightened.

Judah made his way to the bar.

“Tea please, in a paper cup with a lid,” he remembered the last time he had a cup of tea.

He leaned against the wood bar top and observed the crowd. Taking in the event, the Jedi let a smile tug at his lips. It felt good to be somewhere that was not the center of a warzone or a bombing site. Maybe he needed the time to turn his brain off for an evening. Judah just was not sure it was wise.

Ko had only done a little bit of research before coming to Ord Providence. At first he was a little reluctant. He didn’t want to go to a planet that was so hot that its oceans boiled. But was thankful to know that the urban centers were domed. He was better at tolerating the cold rather than extreme heat. One could always bundle up in more clothes than they could discard clothes until they were entirely naked. Then you run the risk of being sunburnt.

Also he was with another one of his padawan compatriots as well. Loomi, who he’d begun to befriend after taking his advantment’s as a Jedi more seriously. She was the only Godoan he knew or ever met. So it was interesting to see others that were the same species as her. The Kel Dor looked back down at Loomi as she began to remark on how she was dressed. Sensing a bit of embarrassment over her attire. Ko on the other hand was wearing his standard light tan jedi robes. He almost always wore them as it made the question of “what shall I wear today?” a nonissue for him.

“Oh you look perfectly fine Loomi, You look uh… charmingly eye-catching.” He didn’t think the dress was super fancy, and the purple fabric contrasted well with her more yellowish skin tone. Ko almost mentioned that as a Kel Dor he stood out anywhere he went and sort of just needed to accept that. But he refrained from saying that as he feared it would come off as sounding a little dismissive of her concerns.

Looking over towards the stage he noticed the band that was playing. “Oh these guys again…” Ko muttered to himself. Thinking back to the day spent on the Herdship before its voyage. There the same band played and he also had a run in with another teenage padawan, Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania . She seemed rather fond of this Sithspit band. Funny enough when she seemed to get the chance to meet them she put her energy into turning into a ripe tomato more than socially engaging with the band members.

Loomi once more spoke up and asked Ko a question. “Hm, no not really. I mean there’s a bunch of different kinds of concerts and musical events.” Ko himself had his fair share of more rural type events. With a strong mix of square dancing and motorsports to go along with it... and lots of booze. So he wasn't super well versed in how or all most concerts are meant to be performed and played out. This was also for a charity or something like that too, which likely played a part here as well. “But I’ve seen this band once before. So I guess this is what you could expect from this kind of musical group.”

Hollis beamed as she entered the event venue, the New House of the Goddess.
This was just what the Alliance -- and the galaxy -- needed: a break from war. Though, there had been a great deal of destruction left in the wake of battle. That's why Hollis wanted to attend tonight, a chance to give back. For her own part, she'd made a modest charitable donation and planned to see about volunteering to help with the reconstruction efforts.
However, that wasn't the reason Hollis was smiling.
On the arm of her fiance, Hollis couldn't help but blush. Recently engaged, Hollis now had a sparkling new ring on her finger. She'd even gotten her nails done, just so her hands looked extra nice. As they walked inside, Hollis stole some sidelong glances at Justice. The next time they walked into a fancy place together... it might be their wedding day. The thought was enough to send her heart a-flutter.
Hollis giggled.
"This will be fun," she said, still smiling. But she had an important question... "do you think there will be food?"

Charity Concert
Open - Looking for Interaction

A rock concert. Seriously? She had done some crazy things before but this might take the cake. Hotch showed her ticket and let herself be swept away with the excited crowd. The lead act had quit a following on the holo, but she had never heard them before. So what was she doing here? That was a long story but it ended with her winning the tickets after a boxing match. The pathetic part was she didn’t know anybody to ask along for the ride. So far she had only met her new partner, and she wasn’t even sure if he liked music. Her life was all about the job.

The music started and wasn’t half bad but she still felt s little awkward alone. Nothing social lubricant couldn’t fix.

She made for the beer tent to see if anything caught her fancy.

Event gatherings were rarely of interest to Sonya, who would rather spend her time buried in the necessary work of her station. But, as her aide Greer convinced her, networking was part of that necessary work. At least this event had no strings attached. It was a charity, going towards a good cause, hosted by a fellow senator who had thus far proven to be of a similar mind to Provost. She could survive a few hours of this.

Senator Yumia had finished her speech, and Sonya offered a soft applause, drowned out by the rest of the clapping. As people started to mill about, she leaned towards Greer, "Make sure our donation clears, yes?" The spectacled young woman nodded, "Already on it. Anything else?"

"Yes, enjoy yourself." Sonya sent her off, and began to wander the crowd, in reluctant search of a bit of schmoozing. Quite a few people had come, and not just from the Alliance. She had to be on the top of her game, just in case.

Lily had been convinced to attend a music concert, exactly how she had been convinced to attend was beyond her and she suspected that Ceri must have used some magic trick to get her there but Lily was here and she decided that she would definitely have to give the music a listen to and attempt to appreciate how much fun her new friend was having at this concert. Especially since this was their first big outing together really. Looking around, there seemed to be a lot of excitement and eagerness from the audience about the band playing and Lily was definitely curious about them since most of the music that she listened to was very different style to this, a somewhat slower, more classical style genre of music.

"How did you hear of this band?" Lily asked in a loud enough tone for Ceri to hear, curious how one discovered music like this. Also, how did one dance, it seemed a little too crowded to dance in the more traditional ways that she knew, and she definitely wanted to avoid bumping into anyone since she was very cautious about upsetting anyone, both their dancing rhythm and their positive mood due to the music. While Lily was known to be elegant on a dancefloor, or just in general, this crowd of people did not offer a ton of room for one of her usual dances.

Looking around, it seemed that most people were bouncing to the music on the spot. Bobbing their head to the beat. Lily just copied the motion, with a slight sway of her hips. It was a little movement that she had seen from others here as well as something done at other music based events that she had observed at her time on Eshan. While she was not giving the fluid motions that expressed comfort or an expression an Echani might perceive as the expression of relaxation and loving the music, it was one that demonstrated her willingness to try and intrigue in the music.

"They are very different to the music I normally listen to. Is this classed as Jizz?" Lily wasn't sure how Jizz music was meant to sound so wasn't sure if this was it or if it was a completely different genre of music.

"Ohmygodhe'ssoperfectIcouldliterallydierightnow."

Near the front, no, directly at the front, in the very middle, decked out in all of her Sithspit memorabilia, Maran shrieked with joy as she watched her favorite band play. In person. For the first time in person. She'd practically thrown on her limited edition hoodie she may or may not have made herself on the way into the charity and was utterly undeterred in her march to the very front, despite the number of people around.

No one would get in the way of this fan, that was for sure.

"You don't look as tired today, or are you just trying to hide it?" Valery asked after making her way over to Judah, who she had spotted at the bar already. At least he wasn't drinking booze, she supposed. The last time they had talked was after the bombing on Coruscant and the entire investigation that followed. It had likely caused many restless nights for both him and others involved in it, but that hopefully wasn't as taxing anymore.

"Just a glass of water, please," Valery then asked the bartender, who raised an eyebrow in surprise but quickly reached for a glass to fill it up for her.

Valery then turned her eyes back to Judah and offered a friendly smile, "Have you been well? I know we've both been busy, so we never caught up much after the bombing." She was intentionally not asking much about the investigation itself — she had no desire to talk about work, let alone something as extreme as that whole situation.

This event was supposed to be more relaxing, even for the Jedi.

A gala, social event, something fun, it was going to be a great way to celebrate the recent engagement of Justice Lesan and Hollis Orenn. If only this was that event. While it was a gala, it was not "their" gala, even if Justice had already decided that he would use the event for whatever he wanted it to be. Hollis was radiant, even her simple dress. She always seemed to know how to dress for an occasion, and it always seemed inspired by something from Naboo.

Justice was not about to dress in any homage to his childhood home. He would likely be in an imperial uniform had it not been for his mother sending him to the Jedi. It was interesting what that one decision had led to. Without it he would still have an arm, but Hollis would be missing. It was worth the trade. Granted it would be nice to still have his arm, but if that meant he would not have Hollis in his life, he would live it all again.

"They will definitely have food," Justice answered with a chuckle.

Higher hand was in his. It had become a new habit of his to roll his finger over the ring that now adorned her finger. If the two looked like love sick newly weds it was because they were just about there.

"We can definitely see what they have, but I'm not going to lie. I am looking forward to showing you off tonight. By far the prettiest in the room!"

Was Justice buttering Hollis up, absolutely he was. He wanted all the good boyfriend points he could get. They had a wedding to plan while still living their lives as Jedi, that meant whatever time for themselves they could get, the needed to take advantage. He grinned then kissed her check, and whispered something he dare not say out loud into her ear.

Yeah, Just was looking forward to a good night, and fun date.

Dress

“Oh you look perfectly fine Loomi, You look uh… charmingly eye-catching.”

Loomi became red in the face at the compliment, holding her hands to her cheeks as they flushed from the sudden wave of emotion.

"Aw shucks," she reacted, beaming from ear-to-ear. "That's real sweet of you..."

The Godoan certainly wasn't used to being praised or receiving compliments. She had gone into scenarios assuming the worst before arriving at the temple, but she had no real understanding of where this negative viewpoint had come from. There was something more there, though. A slight turning feeling in her stomach, like she had a fizzy drink that just wasn't sitting still inside of her. Loomi didn't feel sick though. Maybe it was just nothing.

Ko had seen this band live before though. Interesting. All the teenage girls seemed to be acting so strangely, their direction captivated by the grey-skinned lead singer. Was he Nagai? Loomi only had Jand to go off of, and the man certainly looked different when compared to him. Loomi could only ponder what was making everyone so...

Bizarre.

"The music is fun," she decided. "Does... it always make people act weird?"

She asked this in gesture to the distant sight of Maran Maran , who was no doubt too far to hear their conversation and too distracted to care.

"What pissy kind of song is that?"

Hercule frowned with all his Trandoshan splendour toward the stage where Sithspit was busy performing while he pulled his long white hair into a rough ponytail to keep them out of his eyes. The drummer hated when his hair was in his way while playing.

"Clearly some pissy band's." Daeryn Neoma answered from where he was trying to polish a slightly dull stud on his leather.
"Maybe they just wanna stay family friendly. You know how these fairy people are." said Fray, the Hapan bassist while Carrick, the guitarist nodded at his words.
"Can stay family friendly while still having some life, but whatever. You lads ready?" Daer commented while he pulled his jacket straight over his bare, tattooed chest.
"Heck yeah, let's wake up this crowd a little." Hercule smiled while he twirled his drumsticks.
A smirk spread on Daer's lips. Their song choice after this funeral aria would be perfect.

The disgraced son of one of the "great Naboo Noble Families" was nothing if not cocky. After refusing to be some gentleman and marrying into another Noble family and being all prim and proper, Daeryn was definitely disowned and warned by his father never put his foot in the house again.

What a relief that had been all those years ago.

After what seemed like an eternity, the stage was opened and the funeral ended.
"Look alive, boys." said Daer as the crowd died down again.

"Provinia, empty your lungs for the Veils!"

The announcement was made and the band bounded onto the stage in their studded leathers and bare chests or arms in all of their charisma and splendour.

"Time to wake up, Provinia. Time to live!" cried Daer over the microphone with a charisma and presence that would have put his father's political career to shame while he held his own guitar.

And then Hercule's drums led them in to wake the crowd...

Judah spotted Valery before she greeted him. One benefit of watching the room was that there were few who would catch him off guard. It was nice to see the face of a friend, even if they were a bit more distant these days. Primarily it was their duties. The more Judah stepped into his role as a Shadow, doing the bidding of the Sword, the less they saw of each other. It was better than being stuck on the council, however. Judah could not imagine having to solve disputes and deal with the politicians. There were days he wondered if he would make a good Council member, but most he was thankful to remain as he was.

"I'm hiding it, believe me," he answered as his cup of tea. "Though I am getting enough sleep as of late. I've decided to take a more patience approach with the New Way."

Not to mention a proactive one. Maybe it was why he was sleeping better at night. Judah was not waiting for them to make the next move, but he was not preventing it either. His agents and informants would catch wind eventually. The terror cell would make a mistake. It was only a matter of time.

"I've been well. JJ seems to be thriving," Judah pointed to Justice and his fiancé Hollis Orenn Hollis Orenn , as they entered. "My nephew seems to have figured out life beyond the Sal-Soren girl, and is happy."

Judah smiled.

"That makes me happy."

His eyes turned to Valery as he took a sip.

"You?"

"Ah, Senator Provost."

Yumia recognized the senator of Montitia very well. A well spoken orator who seemed quite the effective advocate for her people, and they both shared the same side of the GA. There was great benefit to be had in making friends in the Expansion Region.

"I must say," she continued as she made her way over to conversate, "It's a pleasure to finally meet outside the rotunda. This goes without saying, but your skills as an orator are quite exceptional. I see why it is you've garnered such a reputation."

Valette took a moment to readjust her hood, letting it settle back down around her hair. It was part of a personal vow she had taken, an oath of meek leadership. She had a great deal of power to wield as the representative of her people. Not tying her face to such a position was symbolic, an act of humbling, one which political leaders of her people had taken on before.

"Ah, but enough about the senate," Yumia dismissed, "I hope you've been finding the venue agreeable, yes?"

"Provinia, empty your lungs for the Veils!"

"Who the hell are these guys?" Xeno remarked with a frown as Sithspit prepared their instruments for the closing act.

They were set up behind stage, along side the other talent that was present, all preparing to go up for their moment.

"Dunno, but they sure do got an angsty vibe about them," Luxar shrugged. "Like they speak from the soul, but the soul only thinks about daddy issues. Guess it's just their style."

"I think I heard them badmouthing us," Klocto chuckled. "Didn't get the whole context."

Xeno didn't react to it. It was a waste of time if there ever was one, insulting the music of another artist. They sounded good, and so did the other talent. Superiority complexes were nothing more than mindless babble.

"Oh, come on Xeno," the Rodian continued with a nudge, "Don't you wanna get your hands into some old-fashioned music beef? It could be fun."

"Not interested," he sighed. "I'm not a child, Klocto. There's no point if we both sound good."

"What a buzzkill," their bassist shrugged. "But your probably right. They'd probably get too into it."

"Mood," Luxar buzzed.
