ORD PROVIDENCE

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: New House of the Goddess
  • Classification: Temple / Center of Governance
  • Location: Provinia, the capital of Ord Providence
  • Affiliation: Ord Providence
  • Accessibility: A structure that sees heavy traffic, as many Godoans commute to the temple weekly to worship within its walls. There are, however, a select few areas restricted to outsiders due to cast, sworn secrecy, or some other reason.
  • Description: A monolithic structure that sits in the center of Ord Providence's domed capital, a massive temple with a central tower that sits on a square foundation, accompanied by four smaller towers. A garden surrounds the structure, populated by flora brought over from Godo.
POINTS OF INTEREST

Chamber of Worship:

  • The central tower of the structure, where the people of Ord Providence gather to worship. It serves as the center of the planet's culture, with all Godoans encourage to regularly pray within the chamber. A large statue to their Goddess is housed within.
Gardens of Remembrance:
  • A perimeter garden featuring plants transported from the Godoan's old home of Godo, a remembrance of the home they left behind over 800 years ago. A small fee is required to enter.
Tower of the High:
  • The Western tower of the structure, where those of the High Ones (the religious cast) dwell. The tower houses a religious institution for training those of high blood for their role in greater Prov Godoan society, as well as the estates of the heads of families in the cast. This tower is deemed unfit for entry to all but the Mighty Ones (the military cast).
Tower of the Mighty:
  • The Eastern tower and the ritualistic headquarters for the Mighty Ones, housing the Sacred Garrison, the temple's elite guard. It houses an armory, a hangar for starship departure, and housing for actively serving members of the cast. While it's symbolically the center of Ord Providences armed operations, the true headquarters of the Mighty Ones is located elsewhere.
Tower of the Elders:
  • The Northern tower, which serves as the governing center of the entire planet. Here, members of the oligarchical High Elders oversee the political affairs of the planet. Due to the restriction of contact with lower casts, High Elders also dwell within the tower, only allowed to communicate with other High Ones that regularly visit the structure for guidance on religious matters.
Tower of Surplus:
  • The Southern tower, which serves as the temple's storehouse. Here, resources are stocked and preserved with the intention of being consumed by residents of the temple or used in religious ceremony.
Eye of the Goddess:
  • A Force Nexus located under the structure, housed in a twisted garden that very few know about. It's utilized by a darkside worshiping sect of the High Ones cast for dark rituals.

SECURITY: Maximum
As the political and social center of their entire society, the New House of the Goddess is guarded heavily in order to ensure that the High Elders remain untainted by contact with the outside world. The following defenses are employed at all times within the structure to ensure the security of those that call the temple home...

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Constructed in 120 ABY, the New House of the Goddess was constructed to serve as the new center of worship for the Godoan population that immigrated to Ord Providence following
a plague outbreak on their home planet of Godo. A deeply religious people, the Prov Godoans found a house of worship to be necessary for the continuation of their society. Unknowingly, the structure was built atop a Darkside Force Nexus, left behind by the Order of the Terrible Glare in the Pius Dea Era. This Nexus would spur the creation of a dark cult, who constructed a garden where the Nexus lie in secret. In the modern era, the structure serves as the planet's social center, where thousands cycle through to pray within. Along side that, the New House of the Goddess also serves as their center for governance, as the High Elders make political decisions from within their tower.
