ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Death Incarnate: In addition to sporting an heavy beam cannon the Goliath maintains a massive arsenal of weaponry turning this ship into a weapon of mass destruction in space.
  • Iron Bulwark: Along with its advanced armament the Goliath sports a highly advanced molecular shielding system, a strong reinforced hull and frame making it into an extremely tough, and resilient ship to bring down.
  • Dark Side Nexus: After the Shadow Hand conducted a dark ritual mass sacrifice the entire ship is saturated by the dark side from its nexus centering in the meditation chamber. This nexus augments the strength of those wielding the dark side.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow Recharge Rate: Much like its sister ship and the ship its design resembles the Goliath's beam cannon takes a good deal of time to recharge as its power generators need to cool down for it to fire again this can take anywhere from one to six minutes. This depends on the amount of damage the ship has taken and the amount of energy already used, and being diverted to other systems.
  • A Space Turtle: One thing this ship is not is fast. The Goliath is immensely slow in combat and can easily be outmaneuvered on the field. A preferred tactic of the Goliath is to get close to the enemy force to unleash its full arsenal.
  • Rear Blind Spot: A weakness in its design much like all star destroyers is that the Goliath suffers from a lack of firepower on its stern. This means that the ship cannot fire on any ships that enter its rear blind spot.
DESCRIPTION

The Goliath-Class Super Star Destroyer was first conceptualized during the very early days of Emperor Voracitos's reign as one of many superweapon projects to give the Sith Empire an edge against their foes. But the desire for superweapons brought financial ruin to the Empire and the program never officially got out of the planning stages. It wasn't until the reign of Emperor Kaine Zambrano that it truly began to take shape, one of two designs alongside the Behemoth-class that were in early production stages.

But the war took a terrible turn.

When Dac fell to the Republic the frame of the Goliath had been in production alongside its sister ship over Thule and was quickly moved the ship deep into the unknown regions. The project was officially given to Braxus Zambrano then Apprentice and Hand of his nephew Kaine Zambrano. Carefully he directed a massive strip mining program through worlds in the Unknown Regions so far out they went uncatalogued on any galaxy map, the Goliath would be a true testament to the family's power and an Empire or not, it would see the light of day.

Kyber crystals liberated from the planet Ilum were even harvested as part of the ships powerful cannon.

But it wasn't until the death of the Dark Lord that construction truly took off. As Dark Councilor and Director of Intelligence he used his position and power to relocate great swaths of resources towards his project, keeping it out in deep space where it was safe and secure in its anonymity.

But the final stages of production came after the One Sith Empire had fallen and a New Sith Empire rose with Kaine as its Emperor and Braxus as his Shadow Hand. It was brought back from deep space to the dead world of Mord'Rethar, the same shipyard that its sister ship finalized its construction safely.

As years passed new developments were made in beam weaponry and this allowed the Shadow Hand to make use of a new super-heavy beam cannon system that was powered by massive hypermatter generators within the belly of the great beast. The energy came down the spine of the ship and to an axial mount that granted it greater range. The final stage of the Goliath came after a mass sacrifice took place within its halls bathing the entire ship in the dark side. After all these years the Goliath was finally finished ready to be set loose on the galaxy.

The Goliath went on to faithfully serve as the flagship of the Shadow Hand in many engagements, the most infamous was over Coruscant during Operation: Eclipse. It alongside its sister ship the Behemoth fired their Annihilator cannons in sync to scythe the Alliance dreadnought, Vanguard, completely in half.

It was during the Siege of Commenor that the Goliath achieved major success yet again when under the orders of the Shadow Hand, it used its Annihilator cannon to obliterate Munto City and the surrounding Valley in its entirety. The threat of further bombardment of the worlds cities forced the Commenor Systems Alliance to surrender completely. Alongside its sister ship the Goliath was a nigh unstoppable force, or so it was thought. It was during the Battle of Csilla that they soon learned different when its sister ship the Behemoth suffered a critical blowout that completely engulfed its superlaser and the vast majority of the the dreadnought's prow.

While the Goliath made it out of Csilla with minor significant damage, it jumped into hyperspace alongside its sister ship where they were docked inside of Malsheem. A thorough repair and investigation effort was underway for many months to determine what went wrong, the vulnerablities that were exploited. The Goliath underwent a top to bottom investigation and assessment, it was completely retrofitted including the addition of a new cannon.

Once construction was complete, the Goliath was again ready to serve and released alongside its sister ship. Though it was essentially built from the same vessel as before, it was given the designation of Goliath II due to many changes in the dreadnought's hull and weapon loadout, as many vulnerabilities were fixed.
