Faction Exploring the depths (Family only)

Ambience

He paced around the labyrinth infront of the towering nethergate he had built so long ago ever since he left that place he was paranoid of ever going back into it or any manifestation ever taking place allowing what is inside to roam outward and cause havoc. However his mind wondered ...he was in a new group a group of the curios and the hungry for knowledge, just like him he called forth several of his priests to take position around the gate as he sent a mass communication out to those of the Family.

He wanted to see what they would do if he offered them access to what was behind those doors and the dangers inside and how many would survive the encounter unscathed or with their mind intact against the various horrors that lie within but each horror has its own rewards for there are various beasts, artifacts and the like that have yet to be unveiled and can be brought back and used for multiple purposes. Though first he had to see who all would show up and give them instructions as well as a guide through the terrain itself...he did have a few items that map what he has seen of the realm during his time here that he will hand out once they show.

Jay walked in slowly, not sure what exactly to expect. He'd heard legends of the Nether, but he had never thought about actually going until now. He couldn't exactly believe it. The Enforcer kept walking until he saw the massive gate. It was... awe inspiring. Jay continued walking up before seeing the massive form of Skorvek. He'd seen the man in passing when he was young, but hadn't really gotten the chance to officially meet him.

As he looked on, Jay wondered what kind of creatures they'd find in the Nether. He always wanted to learn more about creature.

The Nether was always a strange place to even think about. Let alone traverse. The notion of someone traveling it for one reason or another was reason enough for the Dathomiri woman to be interested.

At least given there were more than just she going.

More targets for what resided there to feast upon in an escape. Not that she would freely abandon those so high ranking among this...Family.

But it made it easier at least to distribute a proper fight when it was more than a single blade in hindsight as she rethought her approach to the idea.

Seeing two others already present, she didn't share in the formality of speaking. At least not until spoken to. She popped a cigarra from her pocket and lit it with a green flame, energy crackling softly at the tip of her pressed thumb and index finger before waving it away.

{{Into the bowels of hell and back, they ventured forth with hopes of a way back.}} A verse she sung to herself quietly waiting for others to arrive.

| “It never hurts to know the supernatural, so that the natural may be unimpressive.” |

Why was he here? That was the question ‘Gorian’ was asking himself as he had come to a halt within the antechamber that lay in front of the grand doors. To be quite frank, he wasn’t sure if he would get a good payoff from this. The offer was moreso just plain intriguing. He had heard vague rumors of the Nether lately - mostly from browsing the HoloNet. Materials claiming to bear origin to it, of which often pertained to Force, of its attunement to such, and its resistance to that horrid thing, as well. That last part interested him the most. He was largely unfamiliar with it. Hence why he opted it would be a better time now to get acquainted with it, accompanied by a team of individuals who seemingly knew more than what the Bounty Hunter did pertaining to the matter. That was not to say he came unprepared - he brought an armory’s worth of equipment today. Beasts of supernatural ilk, whether he’s encountered them or not, surely were going to be challenging marks. Perhaps their parts could fetch a price on the market? That would make this trip even more worthwhile, he would idly muse to himself. Precisely why he brought the equivalent of an Elephant Rifle on Spice, today, and then some - fit for big game hunting on all manner of horrid beasts. Whatever crossed his path would rue the day.

Once he was in proximity of others, though, and the Nethergate, his thoughts would be swift to raise a mental barrier. While he may ponder such thoughts to himself, he knew two of them were more than likely force sensitive. One of which was Dathomiri Magick - which might’ve been even worse. That was not to mention the creepy as hell Priests that had come to be around the room. It was a sight, but things he was unfamiliar with often made him wary - especially of this nature, hence the main point of his outing today. Another individual was one he was already somewhat familiar with by then - Jay, who had an odd affinity for animals such as a Lolth-bat, by his recollection... Helmeted gaze tilted in the man’s direction for a moment with that thought, and it prompted him to give an idle greeting to the other, “Hail, Jay.” Not knowing much else about his coworker’s full name nor occupation, as they have likely not come to share it as of yet over professionalism. “Are you interested in the hunting of the beasts here? Or are you seeking to capture one?” He would heft the oversized weapon to rest upon his armored shoulder as posed this query. Despite the modulation of his voice, the latter part of his question came as something of a jest, mixed with a real question towards him - he knew little of the man's true interests, only assumptions based off of what he had seen thus far.

As he would come to rest on the sidelines whilst others showed - he mostly felt more comfortable because he heard Dominik was going to come along, as well - he would perform his usual systems diagnostics to ensure all systems were prepared for the coming assignment. Though, his head tilted sidelong at the Woman’s soft hum to herself - translational software recognizing bits and pieces, since Dathomiri was often not a language encountered by Samuel (perhaps once or twice before). ‘Depths…hell…back…’ Lovely. He would’ve come to compliment the woman on her voice, if he didn’t believe it rude to claim so. Not to mention he had no idea what else she was talking about if she happened to ask him how he felt about the song. So he chose to avoid the awkward situation altogether, merely waiting for the rest to show.

Particle blaster, energy blaster, projectile launcher, alchemized sword, explosive grenades, Mag boots, airtight seal, half an hour of oxygen, Beskar armor... Maybe that would be enough to venture into the Nether.

Dominik hadn't ever been there, and those who came from it or drew power from there had increased dramatically since he had gone in the drink. Dark, evil powers from a dark and evil place. Skorvek, apparently his friend's Star's brother, the relationship to which he guessed wasn't a blood relation, had brought the dead to walk the streets of level 1313 a while back when some other gangs decided to wreak havoc. And as far as Dominik could tell, that wasn't even him getting serious. Dark powers made him twitchy and want to reach for his gun, but everyone in The Family was to act like a Family. That is, not shooting one another in the back with the first clean opportunity they got. Skorvek was part of The Family, and as long as Dominik was too, he had no real reason to think the large dog man would turn on Dominik. Still, he was wary about him. And then the large man invited him and others to go on a field trip to The Nether. Like it was a place you could just go to.

If the dog was inviting, then Dominik would take the opportunity. It was only a matter of time before he had to fight someone with Nether powers of one variety or another. Going there to learn, to see how these things fight, what works against them and what didn't, and what materials might be used to counter their abilities or enhance them, if any. Others might see this as a good time, a thrilling hunt, or a galactic but dangerous safari trip. For Dominik, this was studying a future enemy. To be able to kill them faster than they could kill him when it came down to it.

Dominik walked up to the meeting place like he had been the one to build it, confident and wide-shouldered. Dominik slowed his pace as he gazed at the massive gate that would lead into the Nether. The thing was huge, ornate and ominous. And in front of it were four people so far. Skorvek, Jai, Samuel, and a tough-looking woman he hadn't met before. White hair, eyepatch, good musculature under her bodysuit and normal street clothes. She had a number of blades and gadgets on her. He walked up to her, his face and eyes blocked by his helmet. "I hope," he said, voice coming through the helmet's modulator. "That those clothes are more than just cloth. We're going into The Nether, don't know what thing might come trying to kill you."

The deep inhale and following breath out was supposedly a similar exercise that was practiced in meditation. Something that had always made her smile at given what usually came before the burning smoke.

At least this time it was a peaceful moment before rather than after. Something that allowed her to enjoy the all too familiar motion.

More were showing up, people unknown to her for the time being. Armored faces with guns and blades alike. Single eye starting to look for the weak points before reminding herself she was here to help, not other work.

Jay.

Wasn't hard to hear with the voice modulator going. Inflection could be a right pain to catch with those blasted things around. Other times it betrayed the user to no end. White armor was Jay, now she just had to wait for-

More armor approached and cut a path to her. A final drag and the filter scorched as she dropped it to the ground. The wandering gaze spying for open points before she gazed into the void of that mask.

The words made her smile though.

"If it kill me, then my time. Jenzid. Short is Jen. Easier." A soft reply before she pulled at her shirt. She'd been wondering about armor long before this venture. An idea put off with all of the bulk she had seen in most of the choices available.

"Everything heavy, loud. All pinch an pull. Move strange, move fast. Glove keep us alive." She nodded as she pulled on the bodyglove, not entirely confident but content at least with her explanation.

She frowned looking over his equipment, noting the vital points mostly. Her head turning slightly as she squinted at the plating. The sheen looked familiar, though she couldn't put a finger on it just yet. Righting herself, she smiled.

The memory would reappear when she wasn't focused on the subject she told herself.

As he observed each one come in he was pleased that they came in armed to the teeth, they will need every weapon they can get their hands on if they wish to explore the world he is offering them, His priests continued there chants he tapped the tip of his spear twice having the metal echo across the cavern as a way of getting their attention before he stood between them and the gate as the gate seals he had inscribed into its very structure started to glow and fade signaling that it was unlocking and slowly opening behind him as he spoke.

''For those that have come already I am pleased to see that you have brought so much armarments, for you will need them where you are going.''

There was a blinding flash of light as the gate opened up to a massive dune sea the skies seemed warped and twisted as there was various spectres in the distance that limped forward and walked aimlessly among the sands, the hot breeze that blew could be felt from the gate into the room but it didn't bother him as he spoke as his priests handed out a Artifact for each of them as it opened in a small crystal canopy a map of sorts in it.

''These shall be your guide too back here, do not loose them if you get separated finding the right gate back here will prove difficult should you do so, I am allowing you all and any straggelers that come by later on entry to explore and take what artifacts you wish to partake in should you find any. I will judge wether or not they are safe to be continued use should you survive the journey. But be warned ...the Netherworld is a land where the laws of normalcy do not apply you will see and encounter things you never thought was possible before.'

''The desert here will play tricks onyour mind haunt you of your past failures and defeats over and over, I do not know of the other realms here aside from the desert but keep with your team and do not always listen to what the nether shows you. You will be considered invaders in a living realm, I will not be joining you on this endeavor but i shall wait at the gate here so that it can remain open and make sure no unwanted guests interfere, You will face various beasts and even people you may have already met or killed here do keep that ..in mind.

He stepped aside for them to enter but he spoke once more and this time his tone was more serious and chilling as meant to firmly push a serious point.

''I will say this once and only once...Do not bring any lost souls with you once you intend to leave the Nethworld, If you do I shall deal with the lost soul AND the one who brought them personally...You may proceed'

"If it kill me, then my time. Jenzid. Short is Jen. Easier."

She spoke oddly, and it took him a second to recognize that she had told him her name. "Dominik." He replied back simply. He looked her over as she did him. Though he had on armor that covered him. She had on a bodyglove that hugged her physique well. If he was correct, that was an ENVC-370 Glove, stopping blaster bolts. It would allow her range of motion while being protective. "Glove will let you move fast, but I doubt the things in the Nether have blaster weapons. Make sure you move faster than they do." He nodded at her. As she said, if she died she died. He'd try to keep that from happening but it wouldn't be his fault she went with that kind of protection.

Two raps of metal on stone resounded through the cavern and Dominik turned to Skor, listening.

Well, that was a lot more information than he had known before on the Nether. And still, so many lingering questions of how it worked and what things could mean. "Those 'Laws of Normalcy' that you mentioned before." He started, speaking up. "Do you mean how reality works? Time, gravity, electronics, the Force, physics? Those are all to be determined?"

Slice, fire, slice, fire, punch, kick

The monster before her fell yet more came, many others laid dead around her as the old warrior rolled her shoulders and sighed

nether must be getting rusty or this is getting easy for me, bah oh well, still fun for me

She caught the fist of a creature and twisted it slamming the thing into the ground before engulfing it within a blaze that light the area up. Standing steam rose off her as the charred blackened corpse crackled a bit, her eyes scanned the rest of the monsters that hesitated as she grinned and held her hands out

what's wrong! Are you not having fun! Is this all you can throw at me is some fodder eh! COME ON FERFEKS! THIS DRAGONS BORED!

The creatures let a cry out and began to charge her all at once, with a wild look her sabers ignites as she charged them fire sweeping behind her as she met their charge head on

Jay checked his Amban rifle, then his Rims loaded with particle ammo, and his vibrodaggers. He then checked his armor one more time as he saw he others walk in. Sam was the first he saw, decked in his gear and calling out to Jay. He asked what his intentions were, and Jay would smile a bit at he answer.

"Depending on what we find... yes." He then say the eye-patched... some sort of Dathimirian, and Dom walk. They seemed to be chatting though, so the he focused more on Same until Skorvek spoke up.

You will face various beasts and even people you may have already met or killed here do keep that ..in mind.

Jay gulped at the prospect, looking at the others there. He took a somewhat sharp breath, putting a cigarra in his mouth and lighting it before speaking up.

"I have to be honest guys.... There's probably a lot of being in the Nether that might want we to join them. Can't really guaranty a ride that isn't like landing on a gas giant." And that was as much detail as he wanted to get into right now, but he had a feeling that Concord Dawn was about to dog him this entire trip.

| “It never hurts to know the supernatural, so that the natural may be unimpressive.” |

"Depending on what we find... yes."

The Hunter gave a soft, modulated chuckle through his helmet, as his gaze turned aside towards the entryway of the conclave they had found themselves in, “Very well. May fortune bless us in the Hunt, should we encounter such a beast.”

It was then a new armored individual had made their appearance, clad in a curious, sleek-black armor, and a multitude of weapons. He looked approvingly upon this - it was a good thing he was not the only one bringing plenty of weapons should the situation go awry. Who was under that helmet, he wondered? Not that he was bothered by it - that would make him a hypocrite. Still, though, he couldn’t help but wonder as the man made his way to the Dathomirian. This question was thankfully answered for him as names between the two were exchanged - the woman being named ‘Jenzid,’ of which he worked with once before, and then he heard ‘Dominik.’

A soft smile would be given at the mention, obscured as it was by the helmet he wore. Finally, he would have a chance to fight alongside the man, as he should’ve done on Lyran. Helmet turned sidelong as there was a flash of light, and he squinted at a massive dune sea - of which he was very, very familiar with. He almost grinned at the thought of how similar it was to his old home. Anubian would speak. The artifacts were distributed, with Samuel taking up the necklace and lifting it up to his visor, peering at it suspiciously, curiously as he listened along with Skorvek’s explanation. Guides? Amulet was lowered, as he looked past to Skorvek, frowning some under his helmet. Thought he was going to be their guide. He went on about the supernatural, how there would be things never thought possible. Well, that he was fine with - he went in trying to expect the unexpected, so that they would no longer be such. However…

“...The desert here will play tricks on your mind, haunt you of your past failures and defeats over and over… I do not know of the other realms here aside from the desert, but keep with your team, and do not always listen to what the nether shows you.” His face immediately scrunched with this. Mental manipulation chit, of course. Past failures, defeats? Feth was that supposed to mean..? “You will face various beasts and even people you may have already met or killed here do keep that ..in mind.”

And his gaze narrowed. Trip down memory lane. Fine, very well. He had come to terms with his past. He will gladly face it down, face-to-face this time. Perhaps he will once again encounter someone who he’s long had a feud with. Real, or not. He would opt not to express how he disliked the Supernatural in that moment, his helmet obscuring his expression, and his mind working to obscure his thoughts as a precaution.

Dominik brought up a valid concern, then. As his visor turned to listen to the question of just how warped the ‘Laws of Normalcy’ would be, Jay also quipped - “...Can't really guarantee a ride that isn't like landing on a gas giant.” Glancing between the gathered group, he would look back over to Skorvek, speaking up in agreeance “Aye, and what are we looking for? You speak of artifacts, beasts, and say these,” Lifting the Amulet in his grasp for emphasis, “Will lead us back. But where are we to go, unless we are to enter and aimlessly wander until we find something? I admit that I was expecting guidance, as I am under the assumption most of us came here to learn of how this place works.”

"Dominik."
She nodded at his name, giving a slight bow of greeting when he gave his own name. Dominik. The rounded helmet was Dominik. Armor made it troublesome to figure out who was who outside of armor, but the lot assembled seemed familiar already.

"Well met, Domee-Neek." A stress on the wrong portions of his name unintentionally.

"Glove will let you move fast, but I doubt the things in the Nether have blaster weapons. Make sure you move faster than they do." He nodded at her.

A smile formed when he mentioned moving faster than whatever resided in the Nether. If there was one thing she excelled at, it was moving with speed.

"Try keep up." She smiled as a sound was made to gather their attention. Her eye squinted as the being spoke, being presented an item to find their way back as she mulled on the warning of lost souls.

It was her first proper trip to the Nether, and she was not about to challenge the one providing the chance with arrogantly binding a soul with such a foreboding warning of violence should she fail to heed it.

"I have to be honest guys.... There's probably a lot of being in the Nether that might want we to join them. Can't really guaranty a ride that isn't like landing on a gas giant."

As if on que A woman ordaned in a black whitish gown skin as pale as the moonlight carrying a lantern that glowed a eerie green flame within her body decorated in scarlet red tattoos across her body and face, her eyes glowed a dim amber color walked the sands to them and stood before them as if waiting to greet them she unlike the nether felt more alive and vibrant like the others among them, there was another that arrived not long after a pitch black skinned Anubian holding a blood covered Scythe in his hand stood next to the woman the Warrior was covered in scars and markings and tattered robes.

Well, that was less than comforting. Life needed things to live. It was very fragile and took a long time to make a life. Nutrition, protection, care, teaching, learning, all these things needed to come together in the right way for life to happen. All it took to dash it was leakage, or a particularly hard slam into bones, or a really small piece of anything going near the speed of sound to dash your brain.

If the Nether decided that his brain needed Nitrogen instead of Oxygen to work, yet the air only had Neon gas, he'd be pretty dead. It could also randomly determine that time moved slower near the ground than up near his head, making his feet move slower than his head and do some really messed up stuff. It could decide that gunpowder instead yielded 100x the explosive power and would kill him the moment he pulled the trigger, or decided that gunpowder wasn't even combustible. Or it decided that Thermodynamics worked in the opposite way, and all the heat from his body would get sucked into the outside area. Or that his Beskar armor was instead very weak and crumple like paper, or heavier than gold and press him into the sand. Infinite bad things were possible.

All in all, it sounded like the Nether sucked.

But Skorvek Skorvek wouldn't be telling them to go in if it was that chaotic. Hopefully. He'd heard from Star of times when she had gone into the Nether to train and test herself. So it was safer than his head was telling him it could be. Maybe these abnormalities would occur in specific locations or times, slowly shifting things that they could learn about and avoid.

Two figures walked up to the gate, one woman in robes holding a lantern and another Anubian man holding a wicked-looking scythe. Skorvek introduced them as our guides. Well, if they had them as allies, that made him more comfortable. He'd step forward. "I'm in. Let's go."

Jay looked at Jenzid, piecing together a bit of what she was saying. He... thought he understood it.

"Uh.... Thanks. I think."

He looked as the priestess and guardian walked up, and he looked at the artifact as he listened. Ok. Simple enough. Go in, do almost whatever, and get back without bringing something evil with them. Seemed good. He looked at everyone stepping up after Dom, and giving a quiet nod. He'd ignore the protentional of vengeful spirits wanting to kill him for the time being. This would be good. He didn't really have anything to add right now, other than one more check of his knives.

When he listened along to the Anubian’s description, indeed, it sounded like it profoundly sucked. Laws of shaky foundations were never suitable for standing on, and yet here they were, going to march across a bridge made of such. He supposed it was the only way, if this was the only way the Nether worked. They’ll figure out the backwards Laws from there. It couldn’t have been a death sentence, because otherwise they wouldn’t be here in the first place.

He watched as Jenzid had stepped to the gate with eagerness, giving a soft sigh. He was a tad relieved when on queue, their guides were presented. Peering curiously at the choice of weaponry and figure, he was in approval. There was not much else left to worry about, for they had come armed to the teeth, and will have guidance provided. Everything seemed to be in order.

“I suppose there’s no point in delaying further.” Came his modulated voice, as he would heft the oversized Scattergun off of his shoulder and set it in both of his hands. Steps would make their way forwards with the rest of the group; “Let us see where the Dunes take us.”

Once they entered the Priestess merely bowed to the group her guardian said nothing but kept the scythe in his hand as he turned and move on ahead of the group by a little bit, their compass's chimed a ping showing their objective in the mountain like region off in the far distance it looks like the walk could take a day or two but this is the Netherworld who knows how long or short it can truly take for them, once they entered the Priestess lit her lantern and started humming a tune in a old tounge.

While they walked they would see spectres in the distance constantly wandering aimlessly those not sensitive to the force will simply see people wearing armor or clothing that have been reduced to rags or rusted and broken their injuries when they died evident from blaster wounds, sword marks, burns you name it they got it as some wandered aimlessly, others would be talking or arguing or even aggressively attack what seemed like mirage constructed people with no physical form while some just sit in the dunes with these spectre's around them and hounding them in defeat.

As they ventured they would start seeing people of their past appear and dissappear, people they have known wether it be a friend, family member, loved one or perhaps a old enemy that they regretted to kill around them, for now they only appeared and vanished in brief bursts lasting for a few seconds at a time.

Dominik took his first steps through the door, his body tense and alert to anything changing, like if the air suddenly became toxic or if his bones started to feel more like gelatin than before. But as he took that step, and the next one, and the next one... he was fine. The place felt odd for sure, a creepy despair like you'd feel in the midst of a nightmare. But other than that, he was fine. He rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath.

Dominik looked down at this compass when it pinged, then followed with his eyes. That... was far. He checked with the scope on his rifle, quickly gauging the distance. To his utter lack of surprise, the thing went through many changing numbers, but remained somewhere in the twenty or fourty mile range. It even hit two hundred at one time but came back down. Yeah, spacial distance didn't matter here. So... maybe he'd just need to follow the guide and focus on getting there. This place was full of The Force of some kind, he thought. Much of the Force depended on your mind and your emotion. So, even though he couldn't use it like Stardust Solus Skirae Stardust Solus Skirae or others, he tried to focus on getting to his destination, of walking and arriving there in short order. That he had a destination and would be getting there.

As they moved Dominik noted the people around the sands. Injured, beaten, desperate individuals. Skor had said not to trust your eyes here, so he decided not to trust those. If they weren't running up and begging for help or if the guides ignored them, then he would too. He also wondered what those distant explosions were, but chalked it up to more Nether being the Nether.

And then he saw, ontop of one sand dune, his father. Dominik hadn't seen him in decades. And he still had his throat slit open, blood streaming down his neck and chest, eyes rolled back. And, as much as a corpse could, stared at Dominik. And Dominik could only frown. Was the Nether trying to guilt him? It was doing a terrible job at it. He slit his father's throat after his father beat his mother to death for Dominik's own actions. He'd do it again now if the bastard was truly infront of him. And then the form of his father vanished.

On a distant hill, very far away, Dominik saw another figure. He could barely make out their details from here, but he had the feeling, the instinctual knowledge, that it was his mother. The only person in his life to love him. And his heart hurt at that sight. He tore his eyes away and kept moving, thinking about his destination and wanting to get there, that it would be right infront of him soon.

Jay walked through slowly following Dominik and the guide as he looked around. Desert. Wide desert. It felt strange here, and the hunter quickly made sure his scarf was secured over his mouth and nose. So the was the Nether. He'd always heard stories as a kid but now.... Way more chilling then he thought. Then there were the spirits.

He looked down at his own device before simply tucking it away for now. He'd start walking with the group, noticing a bit of Dom looking around before.... A Mandalorian? One who... no.... Hammerfall.... The effects of the Dark Side that he'd seen on Concord Dawn.... Jay just shook his head and kept moving. They'd be ok. They had a guide. They.... His eyes flashed wide as he pulled one of the knives and looked around. He could've sworn... they... they were right there.... Sith soldiers.... One looked familiar.... He didn't know how, but they did. His hand shook a bit before he quickly slid the knife back in it's sheath. He couldn't let the Nether get him. They were just specters, right? He just had to keep walking for now.

The armored individual made sure he was not falling behind the group. However, he was not too keen on being at the head of the group, this time. Samuel didn’t really know what the procedure was for a situation like this; prior to now, he hadn’t even known of the Nether’s existence. In a physical sense, that is. But when he crossed the threshold and stepped onto the sandy dunes - familiar terrain for himself - it sent a slight shiver down his spine as he immediately got the instinctive feeling he was being watched. Perhaps it was already the Nether playing tricks on his mind. Or it was his gut telling him something was amiss. It was hard to say.

Regardless, he pressed on, following the guides that had been so graciously (and practically) provided to them. Individuals, or figures of them, mindlessly roamed in the distance. Creeped the feth out of him, for one. Could’ve sworn one figure was missing his upper torso. He resisted the urge to bring up his weapon to aim at one seemingly looking their way; all tricks. Feth, he hated the Supernatural. Not because he was creeped out by it as mentioned prior, but because it was impossible to fully grasp. It didn’t have set rules he could subvert, exploit, or otherwise tailor his equipment towards. It was going in, and hoping for the best. Here’s hoping this experience was worth it,

A pair of distant figures made themselves apparent. It drew his attention, like fish to a bait, different from the rest of the figures for a strange reason he could not quite place. His head merely tilted some to indicate something caught his eye upon one of the sandy dunes - he didn’t want to make it obvious to the rest of the crowd. And yet, when his visor magnified the image to produce a clearer picture, their faces were utterly blurred. Outlines of figures, familiar yet out of reach from his mind. Before he could register this fact, there was nothing there. His face scrunched in mild confusion, and hands tighten around the heavy-duty Scattergun. Force trickery and subterfuge, how he hated it all.

This was just the beginning. He’d comment a warning or some quip to lighten the mood, but he frankly felt it was not the time nor the place for either. Bartender work, as an apparent downside, seemed to have given him the inclination to be more chatty. Best to just keep quiet from frivolous talk until they reach whatever form of sanctuary this barren place had, or were out of it altogether.
