Moonlighter
Appearance
Physically, Cato appears to be a baseline human, spare his uncommon orange eyes. He has short, messy black hair and roguishly handsome features. His naturally lanky figure is offset by lean muscle, and marked by various scars he has earned over time as both a Jedi and a vigilante. He has one notable scar on his face: a thin cut on his left cheek, caused by a vibroknife. On the nape of his neck is a tattoo of the number '25' in aurebesh pips, which he was forced to get in his youth as part of initiation in a local gang.
Traits
Bad luck - Cato seems comically misfortunate when it comes to injury.
Perfectionism - Cato never feels like what he does is good enough, and that there is always more he could have done to be better. He often compensates for his feelings of inferiority by portraying a boisterous persona, rarely showing his more down-to-earth side around others.
Polymath - Cato is an inventive thinker with a vast knowledge of many fields, especially technology and engineering.
Resilient - Cato can take an impressive amount of punishment, a durability that is matched by his unwavering willpower and conviction.
Savior complex - Cato obeys an unshakeable code of conduct, and considers it his moral obligation to help and save everyone he can. It can become overbearing when he injects his moral philosophy into the lives of others, especially those who don't want it.
Scrappy - Cato is a skilled and resourceful combatant, well-versed in lightsaber combat and a number of martial arts styles.
Background
Cato was raised in an impoverished family on the industrial wastes of Bonadan. The Harth family had always worked under the thumb of the planet's conglomerate overlords, perpetually stuck on the lowest rungs of the corporate ladder. Throughout his youth, Cato's parents instilled within him hopeful optimism and determination, never wanting to let their economic class keep him from his dreams. He held on to these traits, but recognized from an early age that he would need more than hope to push past their blue collar roots. He excelled in schooling and took every opportunity to absorb whatever knowledge he could.
When Cato's force sensitivity was discovered, his parents saw it as a blessing in disguise. They surrendered him to the Jedi with the belief that it would lead him to a better and more successful life off world, a choice he did not fully grasp the nuances of until some time later. Despite his misgivings, Cato continued his diligent commitment into his career as a Jedi, determined not to waste this second chance at a better life. Over time Cato steadily outgrew his timidity and lack of initiative, becoming a talented and promising Jedi in his own right. His roots never quite left him, his experiences in the slums of Bonadan manifesting as a rebellious streak in the young Knight.
Unable to rest easy while the galaxy continues to suffer from injustice, in recent months Cato has holed himself up on the wretched hive of Nar Shaddaa, pacifying its ever-rampant crime and corruption on a crusade of vigilantism. While doing so, he likes to wear a costume for fun. Also because it protects his identity and offers him a technological edge in the field. But mostly because it's fun.
