Chroma-Zed.

Home of beautiful mountains and jaw-dropping waterfalls, this planet has been untouched since the ancient reign of the Empire.

This planet boasts many amphitheaters where visitors can view all of the planet’s beauty. One such amphitheater has two waterfalls running right through it. You rarely see this type of landscape across the galaxy.

A group of Hutt Cartel have settled within the mountains and waterfalls of the planet, enslaving some of the local Chroman. It is a stain on the otherwise euphoric destination, and disrupts the peaceful lives of the civilians. Set out with your fellow Jedi to fight thugs and rescue the enslaved people.

In exchange for their protection, they have offered us tours and their beautiful planet. Go explore all that Chroma-Zed has to offer. For the inner-fighter type go rescue the enslaved Chromans!

Objective One:

The Chromans are very grateful for the Silver Jedi protecting them, so they have offered us a tour of their beautiful planet. Meet up with the Chroman guide Wur Leten as he takes you on a tour through the amazing mountain trails and the stunning waterfalls.

You do not need to wait for a guide, you can set out on your own adventure and explore where you want to!

The Great Waterfall of the Chroman Gods
65781a9d79aa39db45c844a9bb68cf46.jpg

Located directly below an ancient worshipping temple, the Chroman believe that the gods send them water from the Heavens, giving them ever lasting life. The roar of the waterfall is so loud you can barely hear someone next to you.

Grand Amphitheater
2.jpg

During the treacherous rein of the Empire, the Chroman people were enslaved. They were forced to do work on the planet for the Empire. In this amphitheater a unknown man stood up and spoke to the Chroman people, convincing them to fight back. The ruins of the amphitheater show the Chroman’s achievement.

The Forest of the Ancients
Forest-777x437.jpg

In this forest is said to be where the first ever Chroman settled. This was during the time of the ancient Old Republic. Some say if you listen closely you can still here conversations of the spirits still living there.

Objective Two:

The Hutt Cartel have returned to Chroma-Zed,. This time they have enslaved some of the Chromans, making them mine the planet for its valuable resources. Set out with others across the mountains and waterfalls to reach one of their many base camps to help return as many people as you can. Rumor has it they are well hidden. Check behind waterfalls for rocky caverns.

Objective Three:

BYOO. This planet has amazing sights to see and things to do, so you can do what you would like!

Objective 2- Side story with the knight pack (pls don't join this side story unless you're part of the pack, purely for coherency in our plans. There's another crew doing objective 2, you're welcome to explore caves and flush out bad guys with them)

The planet was serene. Waterfalls, grass fields, peaceful natives with an inward interest on themselves and their welfare. Naria was sure she saw a double rainbow this morning, dipping from one of the many bodies of water and traveling onwards to the next. If Naria ever wanted to raise a family, she would have said here was the perfect place.

That shiny image had been dampened by whispers that had reached her in the night. The Silver Jedi were here to assist the people in strengthening their defenses. Countless wars had taken place around them in the recent year, giving this planet a reason to be concerned over their future.

She and her peers were meant to be part of a new alert system installation, but whispered rumors at a cantina last night had swiftly pulled them off course.

People were going missing. The first was assumed to have slipped along the many paths and drowned inside the raging rivers. The next... ran away with a forbidden lover, though neither left with bags or valuables. And then a child-- lost? Wandered off lost inside the caverns behind the waterfalls... Whispers of a curse rippled throughout the mouths of the drunk men, but Naria had seen a different pattern.

A darker pattern.

She sat crouched behind a rock, the ground damp and slippery as she gestured for her peers to stay low... Patience came the unspoken order. They watched as an off-worlder, covered in leather and brandishing a sword, waded into a pool formed by smaller, more secluded waterfall. It wasn't his attire that had turned them onto him, but the weapon he carried. The natives here had very little need for weapons or self-defense. The forest was thick around them, teeming with life. Even those creatures were peaceful, causing no trouble for the inhabitants.

So why the sword.

She reached out with her mind, feeling for the tunnels beyond the rock. Several signatures could be found-- calm and confident, hardly a cause for concern. And then deeper in... so faint she could barely feel it... the deep spark of fear and desperation. Trapped.

Slavers.

Her knuckles turned white on the rock she gripped, the jedi waiting impatiently as she watched the man picked himself up on the rocks at the base of the waterfalls. The water splashed down onto him, beating down on his shoulders as he crawled on through. His feet were the last thing to be seen disappearing behind the white curtains.

Naria stood up abruptly, her expression grim.

"Follow him."

“Hey, wanna see how many marshmallows I can fit in my mouth?” No, Cato was not supposed to bring snacks with them. Naturally, he did anyway. He was used to these kinds of stakeouts, and they tended to last a while. It wasn’t the first time his sister thought she sensed something “dark” and “mysterious” going on somewhere. Of course, she usually ended up being right.

A hush came over the group, Naira’s look doing enough to silence even Cato, if for just a moment. He crawled over to the rock, leaning his chin over her shoulder as they watched the man wade across the water. “Is there a reason we all needed to tag along just so you can ogle at some guy bathing? The ambiance is certainly romantic, I’ll give you that. But- ooooo…” Their suspect disappeared behind the waterfall. A cave system? Now it was interesting.

“Follow him.”

“Don’t mind if I do.” Cato pushed off of Naria, taking the order before she could make him stay put. Slipping silently into the pool, he gritted his teeth. Chit, that was a lot colder than I thought it would be. He waded over to the falls, quickly pushing passed the curtain of water but emerging on the other side no less drenched. Sure enough, there was a tunnel leading deeper inside, as well as several side tunnels. A big cave system, by the looks of it. Before he could press on further a grid of beams illuminated in front of him. Cato gave a low whistle, pulling his handy-dandy scramble key out of his inner coat pocket.

“A full-blown defense system down here? Nice waterproofing, guys.” No doubt a sign that this was some serious business. A keypad had been installed, clearly how the man slipped passed. Should be no problem. He began to fidget with the lock system, using the key to bypass its security. “Tsk tsk tsk, using your birthday as your password? You gotta try a little harder than that… Bingo.” The grid lights faded, giving way for the group to move in unimpeded. Cato stuck his thumb out of the rushing waterfalls to give the all clear. As his teammates would arrive, he gave an exaggerated bow, gesturing to the entryway with a stupid grin plastered on his face, “After you.”

The Force certainly seemed to work in interesting ways, sometimes. Between Deneba getting attacked by its former leader, sending Senari off roaming the galaxy, running into the Jedi Praxeum way out on Eira Pechal, and then that Praxeum going dark, only for him to come back to Commenorian space when the Silver Jedi established themselves on the world. Of course, having a bunch of Jedi roaming around that area meant that he was pretty quickly noticed and dragged back into Jedi affairs on a wider scale.

Being dragged back in like that, of course, also meant that he was found by some old acquaintances from a long time ago.

So far, things seemed a little rocky.

He focused in carefully on the man that they were watching, waiting to see what he would do. When the light hit the blade right, he could recognize the tell-tale striations of the metal showing that it wasn't an ordinary blade. "Cortosis weave," he said quietly, right as Naria commanded to follow the slaver. "They're expecting Jedi—"

Of course, the warning went unheeded as Cato quickly sprang to his feet, and went out into whatever was behind the waterfall. He sighed, standing up and making his way out behind the younger man. Just in time to see his very exaggerated, somewhat mocking bow; looking past Cato, he could clearly see the keypad, and all the small sensors for the security system.

"Good work, Cato," he said magnanimously, rather than indulging his more abrasive side for once. "Next time, please wait for us all to go in as a group. These people seem to be expecting Jedi interference. Splitting up when we don't know the full extent of the operation here is a little too dangerous."

Objective: 2 - Stop slave trading
Group: Inara Basai Inara Basai | Cadere Cadere | Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr | Mathieu Brion Mathieu Brion
Idea: The two Jedi and two Rangers will work together to take out one of the bases.

DYnZ0fN.png

Taking the speeder had seemed like a great idea. It was better than walking in almost every fathomable way. But then, Mathieu was in the back of the four-seater and leg space was limited. Still, he was just wearing his Jedi robes this time which made the situation considerably much more comfortable than it would have been if he wore his heavy armour like he did on Taris. "I sure hope we're there soon" he said, adjusting his position a bit to reduce discomfort. They were heading towards a Hutt base located a few kilometres north of the equatorial regions of the planet and were as far as he was aware the only team heading for that location.

The friendship between Mathieu and Cas stretched back a long way - they had known each other since before the Padawan had even begun his path as a Jedi. The more junior ranger, Inara, was someone whom he had first met rather recently on Taris. Still, they seemed to get along well and with both of them helping the locals in the aftermath of the Rakghoul surge, they had some experience working together. The senior ranger, Beltran Rarr - he was the unknown factor to Mathieu. In truth, the man could look rather intimidating, but then judging a book by its cover was never a good idea. The man was, after all, a ranger and ally.

Looking out the window, a beautiful landscape could be seen. Creeks peacefully ran across the rolling fields and occasionally united to form rivers. A long mountain range ran across the horizon - compared to the warm valley in which they were now, it looked rather cold with snowy peaks and little to no vegetation. In Mathieu's mind, it was good news. The base they were supposed to attack in order to free a number of enslaved Chroman natives and end the slaving operations was supposed to be tucked away in the mountains, so chances were that they were getting close.

Browsing through his backpack, he looked up to the others "I brought a few extra sandwiches if any of you are hungry." It was the courteous thing to do - especially since his next step would be to bring one out for himself. Doing a dangerous mission on an empty belly was never a good idea. "I heard that these guys had a lot of automated defences. Any chance that they'll pick us up on the scanner and fire off a few happy volleys before we even arrive?"

Team Rangers vs. Jedi (just kidding xD):
Mathieu Brion Mathieu Brion , Cadere Cadere , Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr

Inara glanced out the viewport of their speeder, taking in the landscape of Chroma-Zed. It was beautiful here with the mountains and lush forest and waterfalls. She'd heard that the local Chromans were leading the Silver Jedi Concord on tours of their world today – but she wasn't here to see the sights.

Duty called and she was there to answer.

The ranger medic sat comfortably, her medical backpack on her lap. Along with all of her necessary supplies, there was a little stuffed bear peeking out from under one of the pocket flaps – a new addition to her kit.

She'd completed her first mission on Taris without getting killed by rakghouls, so she was excited to get this one underway. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to deal with those fiendish creatures every again. Still, she'd made a good friend that day, the Jedi Padawan Mathieu Brion. It would be nice to work alongside him again today, a thought that occurred with a smile aimed in his direction. My, he did look rather cramped next to her in the back seat – and she had to chuckle.

Inara was also happy to be working with Cas Tynen, who was currently sitting shotgun. He was another familiar face from Taris. He'd helped give her some cover, and she wouldn't forget that gesture. She'd return it in a heartbeat if needed. The ranger looked forward to getting to know him, too. She had never imagined she'd be making friends with Jedi.

Her posture was straighter than it had been on Taris, a mix of confidence gained – and the presence of Lieutanant Beltran Rarr. He was rather an imposing figure, and his service record was waaay longer than her own. Inara just didn't want to let him – or anyone – down.

“I'll take a sandwich,” she said, glancing to Mathieu. It hadn't even occurred to her to bring a snack, good thinking. She'd let someone else answer about the defenses...

Objective 2
Gang: Inara Basai Inara Basai | Cadere Cadere | Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr | Mathieu Brion Mathieu Brion

After calling shotgun, Cas was sat comfortably at the front with both legs elevated on the dashboard while the back of his head rested on both hands. This seemed like a fun time for him, not only were they going to be freeing some slaves and sticking it to grimy Hutts, but it was sure to be entertaining with Mathieu accompanying them - Cas remembered Inara from Taris but they didn't interact much aside from helping her rescue what's-his-face... Marvis? Marus? Something like that. Beltran seemed cool; in a 'breathe wrong and I'll kill you' kinda way.

"Why? You're legs hurt, Stretch?" the Jedi Knight teased, the guy loved to make short jokes at Cas' expense and it was satisfying to see the Morellian's tallness give him a hard time for once. Sitting up slightly, he fiddled around with the stereo trying to find a good tune to pass the awkward-ish silence.

At the mention of sandwiches, the Kiffar's ears perked and he practically shot up out of his seat. Planting his feet back on the ground, Cas turned round to face Mathieu behind him and a large, toothy grin met Mathieu's gaze. "Nice! I'm freakin' starving." he exclaimed reaching over to grab two sandwiches, one for him and the other for Beltran. While he wouldn't admit it to his friend, he did love his sandwiches. Mathieu's question did make Cas wonder though, as he took a large bite out of the sandwich and handed the other to Beltran, he pondered - "I mean, I guess... unless this speeder has some cloaking tech." he joked "Better hope you're as good as driving as your are intimidating, right Beltran?" the Knight quipped as he playfully nudged the Ranger.

The venture to Chroma-Zed had given Caedyn the opportunity to break out his old RZ-36 Precursor Sports Bike, a small ground based speeder-bike to make short work of the distance he planned to cover in scouting out the terrain in the attempt to track down the alleged slaving syndicate present on the world known as the Hutt Cartel. Curiously, the Silver Jedi seemed to be finding themselves having to contend with the Hutts antics once more, and so soon after previous rumors of having aided them in the past on Nar Shaddaa if memory served him right.

Caedyn's Jedi robes whipped up around his form as the wind raced passed him, the high-pitched whine of the bikes engines sent into overdrive as he shot in and out of the lands many twists and turns, following a cavernous path in lieu of the coordinates he had picked up in their descent from orbit. Far above Chroma-Zed, the Vagabond had stumbled upon an encoded transmission, and while difficult to decipher, what could be made out was a likely point of exchange between raiding parties where slaves sounded to be transferred from one sect of the Cartel to another.

Roughly a mile out from his target coordinates would see the Jedi Knight slow the bike, limiting the power allocation to the thrusters and quietening the vehicles further approach not wishing to announce himself ahead of scouting the outpost from a distance. Finding a suitable rise within the lay of the land, he'd dismount and go the rest of the way on foot, pulling a pair of bino's from his satchel and keeping low to the floor, starting to assess the likely hostile response to his telling arrival.

Beltran sat at the controls of the speeder, listening to the others as they chatted back and forth. It was becoming clear that he was now the "old man" in the operation. None of the three others who occupied the vehicle could have been more than twenty-five standard years old, if they were a day, and the Lorrdian briefly wondered when exactly he had gotten so old.

In truth, he really wasn't that old, on the latter end of thirty-five if you wanted to get specific, but the last few years had taken a definite toll on his body. In addition to the mysterious cybernetics that had been implanted in him by some unknown galactic group, Beltran now figured he had more artificial internal organs than he had flesh and blood ones. So, while he wasn't all that old, today he felt old.

At the offer of sandwiches, Beltran shook his head-the only part of him not currently covered in the plates of his Katarn armor. "No thanks," He said softly, his voice carrying easily even amongst the hum of the speeder's engines. Beltran had made sure to eat something before they'd left the staging point as he'd always had a hard time eating during an op.

He noticed that Inara Basai Inara Basai , the only other Ranger in their group seemed a little subdued. Probably because he was an officer, and one with a bit of a reputation of being rather ruthless on the battlefield. It was a reputation that Beltran knew was well-earned, but not one that he generally traded much on when in the presence of his allies.

Beltran didn't exactly smile when Cadere Cadere nudged him, but he allowed himself a slight smirk-if only to make the kids feel a little more at home. "I do alright," He replied, jerking the steering controls out of the way of a large outcropping of rocks at the last second and given everyone a powerful jolt as he righted the craft back on its course. He had seen it coming several miles away, but had chosen to wait until now-mostly to give the others a quick wake-up call in case any of them had started to daydream.

They would be in the poodoo soon, he knew, and he wanted everyone focused.

To the question raised by Mathieu Brion Mathieu Brion , Beltran responded. "There's no special stealth tech in this speeder, so yes, it's likely that they will pick us up on scanners. Luckily, I transmitted a message saying that we were looking to acquire some slaves before we left. With any luck, they'll just think that we're buyers looking to browse the merchandise, as it were."

It was a flimsy cover, and one that likely wouldn't last beyond the initial contact with the enemy, but it should be enough to get them in the door. After that, Beltran didn't intend to leave any of those slave-trading scum alive to question them anyway. More seriously he added. "We should be there inside ten minutes. If any of you have any last minute prep to do, I would recommend that you get it done. Things will move fast once we're inside the compound."

The galaxy often criticized Jedi as complacent, peaceable fools. Yula’s opinion of them as a whole was neither high nor low, especially given that her two little sisters attempted to walk what she referred to as the ‘righteous path’. Her mother had an extensive history with the Jedi as well, although now that Yula was older she wondered if those stories had been embellished.

Either way, the past few months she’d spent hanging around the Jedi had been anything but boring. Righteous as the path may be, the Silvers worked tirelessly to purge criminals and varying threats from both within their territory and on its fringes. Chroma-Zed happened to be on the fringes, and this week’s flavor of criminal happened to be slavers.

Perched on a shallow cliff, the Zeltron had spent the last hour or so masked by vegetation as she kept watch. Sources told her that one of the Hutt’s slave camps was near here, but she hadn’t been able to find it. Her intent was to trail anyone suspicious, maybe do a bit of impromptu interrogation if it came to that. The man who’d come into view of her rangefinder was clearly a Jedi, robes and all.

A slow grin snaked onto Yula’s face as a thought formed in her head, and the Zeltron levied her rifle, taking a few moments to aim before letting a stun bolt fly in the direction of the Jedi. Hey, she wasn’t absolutely sure that they were on the same side, right?

Better safe than sorry.

Caedyn's gaze was too busy being funneled through the binoculars to notice the gleam of Yula Perl's sights being pitched on him, and while he had been thoroughly invested in 'guesstimating' the numbers of hostiles down below the rise he sat perched on, he couldn't have been any wiser to the incoming stun-bolt that had been fired by her rifle and slammed into his back, sending out non-fatal bolts of energy shrieking throughout his body and felling him into a crippled heap on the ground floor.

"Hhnng" the sounded of alarm and pain escaped through clenched teeth as he landed against his side, muscles spasming from the charge that seemed to be slowly dissipating, yet left him otherwise immobilized and in a largely vulnerable state so close to hostile territory. Caedyn had been certain that he hadn't been followed and from what he could tell, all suspected slavers had been ahead of him...-However it was certainly possible that he'd missed something along the way, as his bike hadn't been either slow or quiet up until ears shot of the outpost ahead.

Trying to desperately search for his aggressor, Caedyn had obviously landed facing the opposite direction and was otherwise forced to focus on his own state of being until he could either work himself free of the temporary paralysis or they otherwise catch up with their target and make ends meet in whatever sense that would look like.

Everyone else seemed to have an idea of what to do, which meant while everyone headed out, Mi'la was left twiddling her thumbs. It was fine really, not a big deal, she was here to talk with the people after all, nothing much she could here and now. What drew her attention to this place was the story she had caught from one of the guides, of a cave full of malice, evil, and sin. They had said when the Empire had come long ago, the slavery the Chroman's had experienced was unlike anything they had known before. They were dragged to the surface and chained to die in the hot sun, worked until their bodies began to give out, and killed en-masse as if their lives meant little. There were tales they spoke of one mine, a site they claimed was the worst offender of the old Empire's cruelty that none ever ventured to. It was this tale that sparked the mind of the Twi'lek. If the tales were to be believed, an evil spirit haunted the sites, supposedly the victims of the Empire that were never able to find rest; their bodies rumored to have been left where they fell under the fist of the Empire.

Pausing her climb, she looked into the opening that water practically seeped into, and could not feel the strange aura that supposedly lingered with the place. Not like that was going to kill her explorer's spirit. Continuing the climb down, she could only muse on what exactly she would do if she encountered another spirit. Her past few experiences hadn't exactly been pleasant, and she certainly didn't have the tools to handle it. She decided she would just improvise if she stumbled into an issue there, because it hadn't failed her up til this point. Besides, how could a site as beautiful as this contain something that wicked? It seemed highly unlikely.

Dramatis Personae: Naria Cato Harth Cato Harth Senari Gravis Senari Gravis

Risen slunk beneath the water, moving silently. Group travel kicked up noise, and that meant every little bit counted when trying to keep the element of surprise.

He hoped — passing under icy water to the slick stone behind — that the enemy put their trust in concealment. Could mean less guards, less defenses. But don’t get sloppy, and don’t rely on your enemies to do the same. Old words bubbled to mind, from an old master. The battlefield is no place for wishes.

By the time Risen emerged alongside the others, Cato had already cracked the alarm. Somehow. Risen regarded him, and the exchange he was having with Senari. Impressive as that door-kicker was that Cato ported around, he was chatty enough that the nighting waterfall could hardly mask their approach. Newer words surfaced: “Keep an eye on him.” Standing orders. Risen looked him up and down as he passed, then entered the cave.

Instantly the air became stale. Other than a few flecks and footprints of wet rock, the place was dry. The chill remained. The ceiling was low, the ground uneven, branching off in paths of various elevations around this chamber. No markings. An empty guard post. Empty…

A twitch of the left ear. Risen’s head snapped to the nearest tunnel, body moving without thought. He blinked through the chamber, landing beside a slouching Weequay whose blaster was in one hand and whose fly was in the other. Eyes wide with shock saw Risen appear.

Before a shot could be fired Risen threw a fist across the guard’s jaw. He struck the arm, neck, and knee in a Force-assisted flurry then pulled the unsuspecting foe into a sleeper hold. He kicked… then tugged… then loosened. Risen rolled the unconscious body into the chamber.

With a nod, he gave the all clear.

The Knight just loved turning length into a thing. Letting out a sigh, Mathieu - or 'Stretch' as the Kiffar used to call him - shot back "I was bound to get injured after carrying you so much on that last mission, Cassie" Naturally, the Padawan wouldn't stop there. He was seated behind his friend and knew the power of nudging. Pushing one knee up against Cas' chair, he started to bump at it irregularly, hopefully with enough discretion for the others not to notice.

Apparently, sandwiches were in high demand. Grabbing a few foil-packaged sandwiches, he read from the notes which he had left on them earlier "What do you want? I've got ham, porg, jogan fruit" Giving them free reigns of what they'd have, he soon returned his full focus to eating his own sandwich.

It was hard not to chuckle when his fellow Jedi straight up pointed out that their driver was rather intimidating. His mate really didn't have much of a filter, it seemed. What came next was not quite as expected as the speeder suddenly jerked to the side, barely managing to avoid an obstacle which he failed to spot. After scanning the vicinity for threats and determining that it was just an unfortunate road-even, the Morellian looked back at his sandwich "A little squished, but still rather edible"

All he could do was to stare awkwardly at himself whilst eating and listening to Beltran explain what he had done before departing. "I suppose this isn't a very convincing disguise then..." he said, trailing off with eyes fixed on the brown robes he wore. With a few quick moves, he wrapped the foil back around the sandwich before quickly starting to wiggle about in the rather limited space that he had. Before long, the robes would be off, and what remained was a simple matte beige tunic, grey pants and a pair of boots. Mathieu allowed the blaster and stun baton to remain attached by his belt but the practice sword went straight into his backpack, sharing space with his many many sandwiches and other less important items.

Once done, the new Padawan looked out the window again, only to see a large Hutt security turret. It was not locking onto them and simply let them pass and after another minute or two, the passed by another large turret. His best guess was that it was an outer perimeter as their base was not yet visible. That soon changed - a modern building with sleek design emerged as they rounded a large rock formation when they were high up in the forested valley. A couple of guard droids looked at them from the main entrance whilst a rough looking woman seemed to be taking a smoke break outside the loading bay.

As the party stepped out of the speeder, a Toydarian flanked by two Gamorreans approached "We charge extra for transportation" the winged alien spoke with a surprisingly cheerful tone, all things considered. The Padawan looked to the others in his group because lying was certainly not his strong suit.

"Marshmallows? Really? Somewhere in the verse they play a similar game with alcohol soaked fruit. First one to choke has to down the glass." Tarish spoke to Cato Harth Cato Harth before falling to silence.

Was a quiet planet, beautiful landscape and all that smooth, bith jazz. Which was surprising given the amount of fighting that had happened around and in the place. The waters and serene views had almost been enough to forget that they had a job to do here. And had almost been enough to remove the secondary job that had swayed them from their original course.

It was the strangely usual thing of people going missing, Tarish silently betting that it was either native wildlife, which was quickly ruled out given how peaceful the local animals were. Which led to the inevitable deduction that it was most definitely something else. Naria was leading the party in the impromptu side mission to check out the lead that they had been given. There was a being dressed strangely given the relative nature of the planet.

A sword on the hip being a dead giveaway of such. He didn't bother with the mind stuff like Naria did. He hadn't ignored her call for silence, but the lazy smile in kind was a warning in and of itself. The man disappeared as Cato spoke at Naria about ogling the fellow. Senari Gravis Senari Gravis warned about the cortosis weave, which had Tarish scrunching his brow in response. Cato moved forward, Senari following behind him as another emerged from the water and took the lead down the hallway.

"Seems a bit excessive if they are small timers." He spoke to Senari Gravis Senari Gravis on the mention of the weave, and the door behind them now. "Bit of an investment, giving all that to someone." Was his final remark as Risen blinked into another hallway and dispatched a guard. "Find the head honcho, get them to spill the beans." He shrugged as he looked back to Naria.

"You want to lead this out or let tall, dark, and grumble there to keep going?" He kept to a quiet tone, even with his little laugh at the allusion to Risen Risen .

If there was anything Alana was not a fan of and not used to doing, it was working in teams. Let alone teams this big. Even on Byss when her mission was to stop a Dark Side mass ritual, there’d been only one other person with her. And that had been a combat hardened Alliance commando. Sometimes she still wondered what had become of them; but with the erosion of the ideals once espoused by the Republic she’d helped champion, she’d left the Core and never looked back.

Now here she was with a bunch of Silver knights, a lot of them seemingly young and inexperienced. Not her ideal life. She’d liked being a Warden and would probably head back to the Unknown Regions after this was done. Peace, quiet, herself, and her ship. All she needed or wanted in life. Perhaps that time training with Tiland Kortun had worn off on her more than she thought. Or, it was from growing up a lone orphan on a world of ancient wrecks that were once battleships.

But for now, there was a mission. Dismantle the slaving operation. Easy. She’d patched back into old bounty hunter channels and gotten the gossip about ship movements. Nothing off working that they’d found yet, so this could be ended here.

Others had surged ahead to breach the initial defenses, but she hung back. One hand pulled the Force-imbued sword from the sheath on her back and the other unholstered the old blaster. If they had cortosis weave and expected Jedi, then she wouldn’t act like a Jedi.

There was one thing she had learned from her various masters and time wandering around, passing in and out of both the Jedi and Je’daii as she felt led. Apparently it was a family gift, at least in the other Sunriders running around.

Battle meditation.

Difficult. Powerful. Sometimes legendary. Always elusive. She’d done training runs and practiced it, but perhaps it was time to put it to use.

She slithered down the rock face into the water, holding there to let the ripples slide disperse and the small sound drown away beneath the pounding waterfall. The cold lapped at her flight suit but couldn’t get through the clothing. She yanked the zipper higher up in the collar to be sure as she crept through the doorway. It was a network of tunnels. Great. Next time she was bringing the probe droids.

Alana paused and closed her eyes, reaching out wide in the Force. No sense going through every tunnel one by one. Feel out the life forces, few the presence of evil and oppression. Seek the shadow.

As she reached out to sense it, she wrapped it around her companions, forging a link between them. Not a meld. That was too powerful for her still. But a meditative connection that would sharpen their awareness of each other and let them anticipate what had to happen.

Slavers.

The idea of someone holding someone else against their will for their own gain didn't sit right with Ayden. It wasn't fair for those who had been forcefully put into slavery, to forever be trapped in forceful labor until bones ache and skin peels. For future generations to work under the same slaver if a new generation could even be made. It wasn't fair.

So it was time for the group to some good.

Ayden trailed behind the group of Knights slowly, watching his surroundings closely. It would be easy to be watched from a secluded hiding spot, especially in this type of landscape. Trees that tower above them all, mountains that sit in the distance, anywhere could be the staging area for a possible ambush. For a place so beautiful, who knew it could possibly carry this many disasters.

Naria led the pack in front of everyone, calling them to a stop. Ayden positioned himself to get a line of sight of whoever they had seen. An individual who appeared to carry a sword. Most likely that was one of the slavers. Senari had pointed out an important feature of the sword, that it was lined with a cortosis weave. Cortosis, known to be the material that can withstand blasters and even lightsabers, had been applied to the weapon. It means the slavers are expecting resistance from Jedi. It was a smart weapon choice.

Cato had gone ahead, already wading in the cool water below. Ayden followed suit. As soon as he hit the water, he tensed up. Being cold and wet was not a good combination for possible encounters. He would have to make due, as there were most likely no places to dry off. As he came up past the waterfall, Cato had cracked the defense system. Ayden then emerged from the water, trying to somewhat dry himself off. One second later, a guard was taken out quickly by Risen. Freakishly fast, but gratefully helpful. As the team considered their next move, Ayden felt the force link form between himself and the others. It gave him a feeling of reassurance, knowing that the link would be a great boost in possible success.

It was time to go in hard.

After quickly stealing a marshmallow from Cato Harth Cato Harth he jumped into the pool of water, tucking his legs to his chest.

"Cannonball!"

Though the raging waterfall cut out most of the noise, he was pretty sure the group heard it. Good. Hopefully some of them would lighten up a little bit. Sure, local people were enslaved, but it didn't mean they needed to be stiff about it. Being a Jedi wasn't all work, but more play.

Emerging on the other side of the waterfall he didn't even bother shaking the water off. It dropped straight off of him, splashing onto the ground. Being a Mon Calamari meant that you were born in water, so you better start liking it real quick. After watching the others emerge from the pool he saw Cato quickly getting to work.

Senari Gravis Senari Gravis was complaining, as usual. Does nothing ever satisfy that man? Though there was no true "leader" of the group he sure did act like it.

As they walked depart into the cavern he struck up a conversation with Cato and Tarish Galland . When they were done with this whole rescue mission thing he was going to beat them in a marshmallows eating contest. No way he was letting those two defeat him.

His big eyes followed Risen Risen as he jumped down, quickly disarming the guard. Though he shared classes with the man before, he still truly didn't know much about the Jedi. Maybe because he was way less talkative. But then again, he did talk a lot. Oh well.

Everyone had gone serious, trying to think of a good plan of action. Plans were never his thing. When you make a plan it means there is no room to adapt. No room to try and change the situation. Pulling out his lightsaber he helped it in his hand, addressing the group.

"How about we go in sabers-blazing? That always works!"

Team Rangers vs. Jedi (just kidding xD):
Mathieu Brion Mathieu Brion , Cadere Cadere , Beltran Rarr Beltran Rarr

Inara had to grin when Mathieu and Cas teased each other, and she brought up a hand to hide her laughter. A smile remained on her face when sandwiches were offered up, and she took one of the jogan fruit labeled foil packs. And wow, she had to give Cas some credit – it was rather bold to call the Lieutenant intimidating, right to his face. Even if it was the truth.

Her eyes lingered on the back of the driver's seat for a moment as she wondered what it was going to be like working with the officer. She took a deep breath and a bite of her sandwich. Just follow orders, keep them safe – get the slaves out, she thought as she ate.

She listened to the instructions given by Lieutenant Rarr, and glanced to the side to see Mathieu shrugging off his brown Jedi robes. By the time their speeder pulled up at their destination, Inara had stuffed the remains of her sandwich in her mouth and exited the speeder last.

The medic was rather doubtful that she could ever pass for someone that was here to 'browse the merchandise.' And so, she stood in Mathieu's shadow – her small form easily disappeared behind him. After all, he was broad-shouldered and stood quite tall (he was actually over a foot taller than she was).

She listened closely as others approached, and she steeled her nerves for what was to come.

Naria's temple throbbed, the vein there pulsing as Fisk yelled 'cannon ball' and jumped into the water.

"Fisk," came her sharp tone. She trudged headlong through the pool, a wave of the force parting the curtain of white rapids as she stepped inside the hidden cavern. Misty foggy clung to the air, drenching her despite her efforts to avoid the worst of it. She snatched the bag of marshmallows out of his hand, discarding it pointedly into the water.

"This is not appropriate behavior on a mission. You could have just alert the guard and compromised our men at the door." Instead of disappointment, there was fury, a wayward glance given to her little brother who had been at the front line.

Her intensity over his safety was no secret. That wasn't to say she wasn't as fierce when protecting all the rest-- she was. Cato staring down bullets just made her particularly... strict.

Her gaze tore to Senari, the old face already coaxing Cato through a better, less risky approach. Her stress contorted in flash of gratitude. Or was that the battle mediation that invigorated her mind? She still wasn't sure what Senari was doing here, their paths crossing today before a proper conversation could be had. He was helping, at least. A task she knew he could preform all too well.

With her brother surrounded by both Risen and Senari, her gut uncoiled ever so slightly. Fisk earned her ire in entire instead, her eyes flashing like steel.

After quickly stealing a marshmallow from Cato Harth Cato Harth he jumped into the pool of water, tucking his legs to his chest.
"How about we go in sabers-blazing? That always works!"

"No. You stay here and stand watch. Uh-uh-" she interrupted, sensing his protests. "Quietly. I won't have your antics echoing down the cavern halls. Respect your peers, Jedi Fisk. Or I won't have you on these missions." With her 'punishment' leveled, she looked to the others, sensing Alana Sunrider mental explorations throughout the caverns.

Tarish Galland spoke about the elaborateness of the hidden hide out. She merely nodded, find it odd too. "These tunnels are old. They could have adopted them." Either way, she gestured for Risen Risen to take the lead, falling instead besides Alana. " ... Lead the way," she added to the woman, her pike used as a walking stick as she pushed over the cavern threshold. The roaring water grew dim, the cave muffling the sounds.

"Cato, watch our backs."
