OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Spaceport Name: Atrisia X (Nibia)
  • Location: Atrisi System
  • Affiliation: Atrisian Commonwealth
  • Classification: Galaxy Class
  • Population: Moderately Staffed
  • Accessibility: Unsanctioned and Highly Dangerous the surrounding Asteroid Graveyard is a known, low-level haven for petty smugglers and thieves. However, the Clearinghouse itself is a deeply guarded secret—a whisper in the galactic underworld. Primary Security is provided by a rotating fleet of heavy pirate vessels and blockade runners, ensuring a constant, unpredictable defense perimeter. Ground Forces are exclusively high-value mercenaries and Jia Ren's inner-circle enforcers, all sworn to absolute silence. Unauthorized approach is instantly met with lethal force.
  • Traffic: High: Despite its required secrecy, traffic is high-volume and continuous, fed by a handful of established, off-the-books hyperlanes and highly efficient blockade-running operations. It is the primary nexus for all illegal goods entering or leaving the Atrisian system. Control: All criminal elements—from powerful syndicates to independent pirates—are confined to specified, non-centralized sectors of the Asteroid Graveyard, serving only to provide a disposable buffer. Jia Ren's rule over this criminal haven is absolute.
  • Description: Deep within the desolate 'shattered region' at the fringe of the Atrisian system, the area is officially cataloged as an abandoned debris field. The Clearinghouse: The core facility is a massive, hollowed-out asteroid known simply as The Repository. Its black-market economy thrives on both importing illicit off-world goods and exporting valuable, often restricted, Atrisian resources. Its defense relies equally on heavy, hidden turret emplacements and the paralyzing fear generated by Jia Ren the Immortal Pirate's legendary name. Jia Ren's Authority: Ren maintains absolute control through a calculated balance of charisma and terrifying strength, having forced all disparate local gangs and syndicates into a single, unified, and ruthlessly efficient defense network. An attack on the Clearinghouse is an attack on every criminal operation in the sector, guaranteeing a coordinated and overwhelming military response against any threat, be it planetary defense forces or rival warlords.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Clearinghouse Main Floor: This vast, dimly lit expanse is the beating heart of the criminal network, a swirling bazaar where currency is traded for consequence. It is a genuine black market sales floor, designed for maximum anonymity and transactional speed. Every item imaginable—from restricted military tech and illicit biological materials to forged credentials and star charts to lost worlds—passes across its myriad stalls. The air is thick with the competing aromas of ozone, cheap synth-ale, and fear, as crime lords, syndicate brokers, and independent smugglers meet to broker deals that shape the sector's criminal economy.

Jia Rens Territory: Occupying the fortified, centralized, and most heavily hollowed-out sections of the asteroid's core, this is Jia Ren's personal domain. Its halls are labyrinthine and heavily guarded by elite mercenaries. This territory functions as a private treasury, housing centuries of choice loot and legendary artifacts accumulated from Ren's infamous career. It also contains the essential infrastructure for the pirate crew, including barracks for personal forces and secure, often brutally monitored, holding bays for droids and captive labor. The atmosphere here is one of constant, oppressive power.

Shadowport: A sprawling, cavernous subterranean harbor capable of accommodating vessels from light freighters to heavy cruisers, The Black Dock is the unsanctioned naval yard of the Atrisian system. It specializes in rapid, discreet ship repair and illegal refits, installing unauthorized armaments, sensor baffles, and hyperdrive modifications—all for an exorbitant price. Adjacent facilities include bays for assembling custom Droid Crews and the highly restricted Contingency Bays used for holding human and alien labor, ensuring any captain can quickly replenish their forces and make a fast, untraceable getaway.

Observation deck: Perched high above the Exchange Floor, this deck is known exclusively as The Nihil Hall. It is a massive, semi-circular chamber enclosed by a highly resilient force-shield viewport that directly exposes the cold, silent void of space and the surrounding, jagged asteroid field. It is designed to host large, politically charged meetings. When Jia Ren wishes to address numerous pirate captains, syndicate heads, or rival figures, the Immortal Pirate holds court here, using the stark, brutal backdrop of the surrounding vacuum as a constant, silent reminder of the consequences of failure or disloyalty.

SECURITY
High
: Designed for security using raided components and equipment from Atrisian ships and smuggled components. The pirate vessels that are in the asteroids function as a fleet that defends the clearing house and the internal factions are there with the agreement that they will unite should an attack come as it would be best for business and profits.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created during the era of the high Republic by Jia Ren, the clearing house was built into the remains of the asteroids of Nibia.... a region of the atrisian system suspected to have once upon a time been a tenth world... but something happened that destroyed it and left its moons and asteroids largely in a cluster. The pirates and smugglers that was being brought to the system to raid it... they fought them and as victories came to the dread pirate the crew and those under them grew. The clearing house became infamous as a shadowport that allowed within the core many to unload their ill begotten goods or upgrade their ship discreetly. Jia Ren being one of the more enigmatic and mysterious forces on the station as the crew functioned to raid and bring her a share of everything done... their reputation was one of the biggest things they were getting.

THe centuries of raids lasted until the plague and many of the other smaller wars.... Jia Ren led most of the pirates and attempted to keep many of them alive in the aftermath. As the Atrisian Commonwealth and various governments recovered through the galaxy they were able to bring their skills as a clearing house and pirates in the core. Before many of the wars came to unite the Atrisian people and start the Jishi era Ren in an effort to carve out a section was able to retrieve several ships that they would be able to use. With the new Jishi era coming and many changes to the Commonwealth which saw a boom in military and isolationist policy Jia Ren worked to try and secure the Nibia region as it were and make it maintain its importance. As one fo the biggest places in Atrisia for criminals and pirates it defends the system from attackers who mess with the profits of the group.

Continued efforts, years of criminal activity has seen the asteroids of Nibia and the clearinghouse change. An accepted air of criminal activity as the Emperor struck what most would see as a deal. Jia Ren though cared about it as it allowed them to have a secured place.. they got paid and could keep what they took. The criminals were given the chance to be privateers for Atrisia and outside of the Commonwealth, against enemies of the Commonwealth they were able to unleash everything upon them. THey were able to do a lot more when battle came to Atrisia as the ships could pick off stragglers and those injured to hold for ransom.
