For the better part of nearly forty years, the Blackblade Guard had served as the oppressing arm of House Zambrano's ambitions. Initially comprised of hardened killers and ruthless mercenaries, the Guard had expanded beyond its humble origins to become one of the most feared paramilitary organizations throughout the galaxy. Now, the Guard utilized state-of-the-art armor and weapons to carry out the depraved commandments of their despotic masters.​

The Ashakrataa-type Blackblade Combat Armor was the latest generation of battle regalia worn by the Blackblade Guard. Its production was informed through careful research and experimentation with its nominal predecessor, the Taral-type Sith Trooper Armor, which had been created for use by the Kainate's strand-cast army. Through rigorous testing of the Taral-type armor against multiple enemy states across the galaxy in proxy conflicts and insurgencies, the scientists and researchers of the Kainate were able to modify and improve the composition of the base design for use by the Blackblade Guard.​

One of the improvements made for the Ashakrataa was the infusion of Tal'Beskar into the Gammaplast-Integrum composite, which while increasing the armor's overall weight made it highly resistant against lightsabers and similar plasma weaponry. The increased weight of the armor made it impractical to be worn by the Kainate's common soldiery, but only provided a trivial challenge to a Blackblade Guard; whose physiology was enhanced with various cybernetic modifications.​

Beyond more overt modifications, the armor was also improved with more advanced internal software far greater than anything the Kainate's Army possessed. More situational acumen was added as well, such as additional beskar-edged armor plating to the greaves that could cut through whipcord and other entangling materials. The left vibro knuckleblade was replaced with a similarly retractable scomp-link interface, which could be used to access terminals, locked doors, and other electronic sockets. Because of their cybernetic implants, the Blackblade Guard could manipulate data and other digital information without the need for an astromech or similar droid companion.​

Enhanced sensors and other technological marvels ensured that the Blackblade Guard were the masters of their environment, able to traverse any terrain and overcome any obstacle. The armor worked in harmony with their cybernetic implants and their chosen weapons, all of which had been specifically designed for them alone. The Zambranos would not hold back or cut corners when it came to equipping their most lethal asset, the dreaded Blackblade Guard; the sword which they have used to ravage the galaxy time and time again.​
