Her suspicions were confirmed when the two “Mandalorians” clearly didn’t have a clue what she was saying. But the addition of a punch was the cherry on top. The punch collided with her helmet, knocking the Shistavanen back several feet and to the ground… and immediately ceased to have an effect as she simply stood back up.

”Pretty sneaky sis, but holy kriff, I’ve had Jedi younglings hit harder than that.” She quipped. Alora joined in on the action as well with her twin disruptors drawn on the two Imperials. Shai, however, felt a lot less cordial. She raised her vambrace and a booming whine split the air as her repulsor sent a shockwave at the two stooges.

:: All Enclave personnel, this is Wardog. Imperials have infiltrated Tor Valum, dressed as Sons of Mandalore. Be on alert, their armour’s a dead giveaway. :: She called out over the comms as she drew her pistols, her helmet camera sending a picture of the two Mandalorians along with the broadcast. ”Nah, Al, these kriffers are gettin’ it now. Barran’s gettin’ his imps back in body bags.” She threatened as her two heavy blasters came to life, hurling a salvo of golden bolts at the two imperials.

Hovering in the air, the Wardog was ready to move. With Alora and Tod flanking her, they were pretty deep in trouble.

Kanollic II would remain in his spot within the meeting hall for just a brief moment before entering into the Grand Chamber where the Warmaster Romul Saxon Romul Saxon sat upon a wooden chair within the room. He noted a nod towards his direction from Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan ; the man responsible for Operation Scimitar and the imperial fleet over Ilum and of course the COMPNOR Commissioner would return the gesture. A simple movement found himself within a seat at the table where refreshments were served. The one rule that he always followed during his long life in service of the empire was never to drink or eat anything that was offered by the host. It was not to be rude towards the Enclave but as a security measure.

The Warmaster began with a simple statement about the 'Incident over Ilum' and quickly glanced at the arrival of Vren Rook Vren Rook who joined the table. Grand Moff Korvan took his seat and began to make the opening statement of the empire's position on the matter over Ilum. Kanollic found his statement rather blunt which served as both a double edged sword in negotiations. He took a much more different approach regarding the topic but would voice his opinion at a later time when more of the delegation arrived. The soft hum of a hoverchair could be heard in this direction and none other than the emperor in all but name DECEASED Erskine Barran DECEASED Erskine Barran arrived to which the COMPNOR Official promptly bowed his head a little in respect.

The Imperial Knights had sent a representative ( Siyndacha Aerin Siyndacha Aerin ) to the table on his suggestion made earlier to show the entire empire being present. The current person to join them was Volo Dragr Volo Dragr who took a seat near to the Warmaster which made a suggestion at least to him that he was an important member of the Enclave's power structure. The man seemed to apologize for the incident on behalf of the Enclave and made further statements which could paint the Enclave's stance as weak and vulnerable. The perfect opening for the Grand Moff to charge ahead on the offensive.

"The Enclave's action over Ilum is deeply concerning and sends a strong message that the Enclave is beholden to the Alliance's whims. But have we considered the idea that the 'Enclave' Fleet as it were was not actually acting on the orders of the Enclave at all?. As you know there are factions within this galaxy that would seek a Enclave-Empire war which would decrease both of our military's strengths. It is not particularly difficult to paint a warship with the colors of another faction and even use their transponder codes."

Kanollic had a strong suspicion within the back of his mind that this 'Enclave' Fleet over Ilum was not in fact mandalorian at all but simply made to look like it to bring open hostilities between the Enclave and the Empire. Some might reject his notion but it made sense from a logical standpoint. Weaken both factions and then take them out.

"What I would like to propose to the members of this meeting is a Special Council being appointed with both Enclave and Empire representatives to investigate the matter fully. We need to be absolutely certain before we do anything rash."

He said further wanting to know the absolute truth as the Enclave could deny the entire affair even if they did do it. A Special Council would get to the bottom of the incident and relay that information to both sides of the table. He was not as direct or blunt as Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan but his message would carry regardless towards the more 'diplomatic within the room'. COMPNOR would work hard to maintain diplomatic status with the Enclave.

GOD OF THUNDER

"Interesting beskar'gam you got there,"

Great.

Lily slowed as a Mandalorian approached.
"Used to be my pa's." she replied nonchalantly.
It wasn't like her father would be able to dispute the truth of it anymore. Thanks to her.

But she rested a hand on her holster under the guise of resting it on her hip as she looked at the warrior in front of her.
"Nice 'gam yourself, though." she said as if she'd been saying the word for years. Just sometimes it helps to work alongside the Sons of Mandalore or 16th Company, as annoying as it can be.

Her head turned toward the citadel again. Time was running. She needed to get in there - just in case the others had been held up. None of the other two have checked in. No surprise when it came to SCAR, but it could also mean something else.

Her visor turned back to the Mandalorian.

"Well, gotta go stock up on some gear. See you around."

Hopefully the wench would stay oblivious.

With the peace officially broken, she reached for her holstered blasters and was immediately alert towards any hostiles in the vicinity. Her gaze caught the muzzle of a weapon pointed towards her companion. They may have been wearing the strongest steel in the galaxy but it didn't mean they were invincible, at least not everywhere.

Katja reacted quickly and moved to intercept the slug directed at her ally. The projectile pinged off of the armour on her chest, the kinetic force knocking her back a step but she didn't return fire yet, instead aiming one weapon in the direction of Todblaz Graker Todblaz Graker and the other towards Alora Vizsla Alora Vizsla , having run out of arms to aim a third on Shai Maji Shai Maji .

"Bite me." she replied to the call to surrender.

Momentarily, she shot up into the air, narrowly avoiding the shockwaves sent in their direction but she quickly landed back on the ground, preferring the security of what she was familiar with over the unfamiliarity of airborne combat.

She dived out of the way of the bolts and rolled back onto her feet, concentrating fire on Alora Vizsla Alora Vizsla as she advanced towards the Mandalorian with a newfound confidence at being clad in such impervious armour.

"Yeah? So why are you here with us...at the landng pad?"

If he didn't already know, she didn't have the authorization to tell him. Not that she'd intended to in the first place-- she wasn't above a bit of pettiness to spite Jorus. He did it to her often enough. Petty and spiteful were his default characteristics-- it was fitting that she show him the same.

"It's above your pay grade, 'Bookie'," was her terse reply. What a stupid moniker.

She felt him move to look over her shoulder, but didn't take her eyes away from the confrontation down the street. "What's going on down there?"

A terrible idea, she thought to herself. The op went downhill fast. One of their own through the first punch, and then all of a sudden every Mando on the street was drawing their weapons-- one of them even open-fired with a slugthrower, the thunderous report echoing up and down the lane. The Wardog ate the punch, but climbed back to her feet none the worse for wear, and raised her hand.

Zorah matched the gesture. She knew what was coming. When the shockwave burst from the Wardog's vambrace with a sound like screaming thunder, the Fel heir shaped a barrier of subtly shimmering Force energy in front of the disguised SCAR troopers to mitigate the bone-breaking power to a tepid breeze.

Loth-cat's out of the bag, now. "Those two Mandos in matching armors are SCAR troopers," she told Jorus. "Everyone else is, unfortunately, an enemy. So...are you going to start shooting, or do you have more questions to ask?"

The Knight-Errant drew her saber and advanced.

Family heirloom, eh? A plausible answer, for all that it did little to assuage Juno's suspicion. Maybe she was just being paranoid. The armor certainly looked like an heirloom. But as far as she knew, all the Sons of Mandalore had sided with the Imps long ago-- before her time, anyway.

"Nice 'gam yourself, though," the woman said.

Juno didn't quite preen, but she did like her armor, and as any true Mando, she took great pride in it. She'd had a few more designs added to complement the wild and brazen aesthetic of maroon and gold and silver.

"Ori'vor'e," the young hunter replied. "I've just had it buffed."

The woman's tone and body language were both casual, yet she seemed to be in a hurry. "Well, gotta go stock up on some gear. See you around." She started walking past Juno to the Citadel beyond.

The woman was close. Juno could see her own reflection in the metallic sheen of her t-visor. The woman was shorter and slimmer than she was, especially with the added bulk beneath Juno's armor, but she moved like a soldier-- like a Mando. It was all in her stride. Before the young hunter could reply, her coms crackled to life.

:: All Enclave personnel, this is Wardog. Imperials have infiltrated Tor Valum, dressed as Sons of Mandalore. Be on alert, their armour’s a dead giveaway. ::

Well of course. Always trust your gut, Junes.

The woman was just passing her. Juno turned, crushgaunt-encased fist rising, and loosed a vicious sucker-punch at the woman's helmet-covered head, the servos of the exoskeleton beneath her armor whirring as she twisted into the blow. With her free hand, she pulled her falcata-beskad free from its sheath with a metallic ring.

"'Used to be your pa's', eh? The jig's up, whoever you are."

Unfortunately the wardog didn't die.

Bit of a shame, really.

That punch might have outright killed some other humanoids, but the fleabag was different, Kav supposed. While he didn't know much about the Shistavanen personally, there were some pretty wild stories from Imperial channels, so the Ragithian wasn't shocked or anything. Mostly just disappointed. Yet, one thing that brought Kav's focus back was the crack of the slugthrower to his right--

<<"Damn-!">>

--but Katja was already there, beside him, as she took the solid round to the chestplate. That solidified Kav's loyalty. Sure, Katja was in beskar, but being willing to take the risk to protect a her squadmate wouldn't be soon forgotten. Beyond that, though, the wardog responded with a raised vambrace... but there was a sudden shimmer in the air before the two SCAR troopers, as some kind of immaterial force dissipated whatever the Shistavanen fired at them.

The resounding echo seemed to indicate some kind of sonic attack.

Figured.

But, before Kav could fire off his own concussion blast from his TL-50, the fleabag was up into the air with a rocket pack.

<<"Dog's airborne,">> Kav called through to Katja on the comlink. <<"But looks like we've got friendlies incoming. Now it's a fight, huh!">>

One of the things Kav appreciated about the beskar'gam was the helmet functions. He had received some training in the armor, not a whole lot, but enough to do his job in a pinch. That also meant the HUD versatility; and with a flick of eyebrows, Kav activated the visual mode that allowed for 360 degree vision.

He could see Katja's intended target, as his fellow SCAR member maneuvered that way.

He could see the womprat who had shot at him with the slugthrower.

He could see the wardog above, as she fired down golden blaster bolts.

<<"Damned Mandos,">> Kav muttered to himself, as he began to backpedal to avoid the golden fire, or as much as he could, as some shots pinged off armor. At least long enough to turn the TL-50, fully charged, to fire a concussive blast down the street toward the slugthrower wielder - Todblaz Graker Todblaz Graker . The concentrated blast of force tore across duracrete and other elements in the street on its passage. <<"You just had to start sniffin' around, huh?">>

It was around that time that Kav's back touched wall of some dwelling front.

<<"Sure hope that rocket pack is faster than what this heavy repeater can throw your way!">>

And with a grin inside his helmet, Kav began to unleash with a storm of red blaster-fire at Shai Maji Shai Maji - as all three repeater barrels began to fire in rapid succession, as the large weapon whirred to life...

Like Romul and the social graces, Runi mulled over whether Braxton Holst Braxton Holst deliberately chose to act in a familiar fashion with the Imperial Head of State... or if he wasn't aware of the Grand Moff's less animated demeanor. Well, it was hardly something they'd start a war over -- that topic was yet to come. The man was smooth, she credited Braxton with that. The way he flowed within the treads of conversation so easily was a skill some only wished to possess.

Vren Rook Vren Rook soon made his entrance with a flare for the 'ladies' present. Runi gave the man a slight nod of welcome, but otherwise said nothing. Now was not the time to attempt engaging in social conversation. They were there on a mission -- all of them. The Speaker's was to monitor the situation and weigh its impact on the people. Best to stay close to the Imperials and measure their disposition for the proceedings to come.

For instance, the Grand Moff's Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan sharp tone surrounding Ilum and the events so bound. Yes, troubled events that would pose quite the diplomatic challenge. Though Runi hoped the Imperials did not expect the Mandalorian people to drop to a knee and beg forgiveness. Warriors got wounded on the battlefield. They died there -- as the Quartermaster had -- it was the Way of things. The Enclave would never apologize for waging battle. Yet that was all in a vacuum as there was the small matter of being allied to two sides of a conflict, which the Imperials likely would demand resolved to their satisfaction.

None too long in the tooth, Romul Saxon Romul Saxon entered and bade them all to their seats. A more... graceful invitation than his first foray into politics before the Quartermaster's passing. Best to not begin too bluntly. The Imperial delegates were no doubt already in a sour mood. When one stirred up a hornets nest, one best time the kick for when you were prepared to deal with the repercussions. Or in a social setting when you wanted the impassioned response in order to turn the discussion in a direction of your choosing.

Runi found a seat for herself and awaited the first to speak to start the dialogue.

Whilst Ignacious Korvan Ignacious Korvan spoke and his eyes surveyed those in attendance, he would find the Speaker Runi Kuryida as equally composed as himself. She neither fidgeted nor averted her gaze despite the accusatory tone leveled at them in a dispassionate and yet insistent manner. After all, Romul Saxon now led the Enclave. Runi was simply the spiritual and domestic representative or counselor. Only if it proved necessary would she interject.

Volo Dragr Volo Dragr soon made his entrance though not quite as quietly as Erskine would. Runi had no comment as to the decibel level nor actions the man took. None reflected poorly on the Mandalorian people. They were a hard and direct culture not suited to politics. Even she did not enjoy the... Game.

Her hazel eyes did slip aside a hair as DECEASED Erskine Barran DECEASED Erskine Barran drew near. Their leader held his peace until his subordinate finished, respectful of those he'd tasked with getting the conversation started. Once he announced himself, Runi bowed her head appropriately for a man of his station, and once more left a more direct welcome in the hands of Romul Saxon.

Kanollic II Vethres had an interesting proposal involving both parties present, but that too was of no concern to the Shaman. She was understandably curious how the Warmaster would take it in the wake of Volo's introductory words.

Breathe in, breathe out... Nerves of steel, peace of mind.

When the turbolift came to a stop and the doors opened, Jaida Tess stepped out onto the catwalk, her booted heels clicking on the metal surface as purposeful strides took the flight captain to her fighter craft. The starfigher "Jailer" would be flying if called upon to do so was docked in a rack that loomed high overhead of the efficient yet small hangar bay below.

Like the rest of the TIE variants, her TIE/D Defender featured a ball-shaped cockpit and solar array wings. But what made it different was it had three curved wings and being the elite model it carried additional firepower. It also meant that a squadron could be decreased in size, which was perfect for the limited hanger space allotted on a Valiant-class Star Destroyer such as the Harkenfang.

The other thing was the red markings on the wings. That indicated the Imperial pilot was highly skilled and a member of the famed and feared 181st as was the red piping worn down the sides of their black flight suits. It was both an honor and privilege achieved by only the best of the best.

The Dosuuni climbed up the attached ladder to the racked fighter, then the long-legged blonde dropped down through the top hatch onto a pilot couch which afforded less than satisfactory comfort but did its job. After reaching up and securing the cockpit's hatch Jaida strapped herself in with the crash webbing, then began doing the pre-flight checklist.

Since the squadron was only on standby alert status, there was time to methodically go through all the systems. A seldom luxury allowed when usually scrambling to launch. That is when a pilot had to rely on the hangar tech that was assigned to the craft and/or squadron. Teamwork was ever important to keep a well-oiled machine at its top performance.

With acknowledgments from the other Red Devil pilots, the commanding officer keyed the comm unit built into her helmet.

<< "Harkenfang Control, this is Red Devil Leader. Six green to go, standing by." >>

Now the squadron would just have to be patient and wait to see if they'd get the order to launch or stand down. It was the hardest part of a pilot's job, well from a certain point of view.

Breathe in, breathe out... Nerves of steel, peace of mind.

"You and Talohn both would love to have me swaddled in armor. Shrugging off a hit isn't my Way, Captain. Not being hit in the first place or using the pain is. Besides, if things don't go the way you hope... wouldn't it be psychologically rattling if they suddenly found a red thing like me among the troops?"

"I took some initiative there, Mister Keldra. I hope you don't mind."

An eyebrow shot into his hairline as he turned to face them both while the Loch ran off to fetch his affects.
"I do not mind. I prefer the safety of those aboard my vessels. However, I would remind you both..." His tall frame faced them fully now, casting a shadow over all in the proximity. "...that I have not been Mister or Captain in nigh on your entire lifetimes. You shall address me as Grand Admiral, Governor or Sir. The same applies to the ranks of my personnel." he told them, his tone changing to the stern voice he reserved for his personnel that stepped out of line. "You are not standing among the common rabble now."

He turned back to the viewport just as his comrades started checking in.
"UES Requiem this is Tyatr'alor Vizsla of the Balac Formation, supplemented by the UES Beskaryc'bavar and UES Adate'aden, checking in."
"Grand Admiral Keldra, it's Oldo here. Task Force Scarif is present and set out for the predetermined formation above the planet. We are charging all weapons and shields are ready. We will bide our time and wait for your word in the engagement."
Good. He had the feeling that things would not be working out as they hoped.
"Thank you, Gentlemen. Stand down but remain on alert and have your personnel act accordingly. We shall not be caught unawares." he told them.

Just then, Loch came running back with arms full of armour and weapons. While another Ensign rushed to help him clad their commanding officer, Vemric faced the bridge.
"Ladies and gentlemen, as the saying goes - hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I want the boarding pods readied for firing and all personnel and Mando'ade ready and armed. The Empire would not have arrived with a sizeable force if this was just a friendly visit. Fingers off the triggers, however. Any armament discharge by anyone without my order, would be dealt with personally." There was no room for error. Not in a tension-filled standoff like this.

"Sir, we have slight movement from the frigate on the starboard of the NIV Harkenfang. How do you wish to proceed?" Miles asked not long after as he checked the blips on the tactical display.
A brow twitched once more as the Sephi watched.
"Get me a line to the Harkenfang. I wish for clarification." he finally said.
"Hailing them, Sir." Pol said from the comms panel.
"The commander onboard seems to be a Captain Leandra Brax Leandra Brax , Sir. If intelligence is correct, that is." Miles relayed as he read through the Imperial ship's history.
"Thank you. Let's see if they would accept our attempt to contact." Vemric said just as the Ensigns finished with his armour. The reaction of the Imperials to the contact would give him all the answers he needed.

It could go one of two ways.

Braxton watched each Imperial delegate with attention to every detail, every word spoken and how they were spoken. The Grand Moff was, by far, the most dangerous one in the room. The rest were inconsequential. Both on a political level as well as a personal level. Korvan had the ability to make his company’s life a headache if things went south.

And yet, those concerns seemed to dissipate almost immediately.

'Greetings, ladies an' gentlemen. Excuse my poor time-keeping, though I do aim to be on my feet by this time next year - fat help though that'll be for a while.'

”Barry! My, my, you look absolutely dreadful.” Braxton spoke with a parsec-long grin, his imperfect teeth on full display as he rose from his seat with outstretched arms. It was good to see the man again, though the Director couldn’t deny the pang of concern in seeing his friend in such a state.

Didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try and get a laugh out of the man for it.

With the arrival of the Lord-Regent, as well as a few more Mandalorian delegates, the meeting could continue without a hitch… not that he was naïve enough to think there wouldn’t be any hitches down the line. The meeting was already off to a splendid start with the Grand Moff’s distressed words.

The Director watched him as one of the Mandalorians, Volo, spoke up. The main man of their police force, for lack of better terms. A very good addition to the conversation, one that can potentially hammer out a fair, legal and, most importantly, satisfactory agreement between the two parties.

"Lest the Lord Regent would rather question what was, without a doubt, an attempt on his life?"

"What I would like to propose to the members of this meeting is a Special Council being appointed with both Enclave and Empire representatives to investigate the matter fully. We need to be absolutely certain before we do anything rash."

”While the actions of the Enclave fleet are certainly debatable and, more importantly, concerning, ships are replaceable. What is not replaceable, is a life. Particularly one as admirable and important to us all as Lord Barran. I have to agree with Grand Moff Korvan that the attempt on his life is of grave importance.” Braxton spared a glance at the Warmaster. ”If information is correct, it was one of your former Rally Masters that sought to take the life of the Lord-Regent. Correct, Warmaster Saxon?” He asked, though they all truly knew the answer.

The trick was to voice it all.

”As I am a rather new addition to the Enclave’s council, I shall leave the details of this matter to the relevant parties. However, I think it should be noted that, in the pursuit of peace, actions should perhaps be taken against the so-called “Wardog”. What would you suggest, Master Volo, as the Guildmaster of the Kar… Karjer? Forgive me, my Mando’a leaves a lot to be desired.” His charming smile only faded when he took a sip of tihaar and helped himself to the bread provided.

"I prefer passion. Far better retention rate."

Tiber had, in characteristic truth, never found his eyes tempted to drift below the lethan's anatomical collar. Nor was he particularly enticed by the reaching hand. All the same, he found it amusing to play along. "Is that so? Perhaps you'd care to prove your thesis?" He queried, keeping his posture ironically perfect, arms crossed behind his back and shoulders squared; his head inclined to look down at Zlova with just the right amount of tilt to be intimate, rather than arrogant. "I'd venture to say it might just balance out the unpleasantness of this engagement-"

Caught out on the last consonant by the self-titled Grand Admiral, Tiber raised his head.

"...that I have not been Mister or Captain in nigh on your entire lifetimes. You shall address me as Grand Admiral, Governor or Sir. The same applies to the ranks of my personnel."

Ever the irrefutable smartarse, the Master-in-Exile cracked a smirk and chimed in, "I suppose you mean to call them by their rank, and not Grand Admiral? If not, the chain of command just got rather confusing..." All the same, he gave a nod of sincere acknowledgement. With luck, the Grand Admiral would take it in good humour and save the theological rivals-come-flirtatious menaces further chastisement.

"Wars are inevitable. Delayed. Relocated. But inevitable, like the return of the Sith."

Turning to his Sith friend once more, Tiber smiled back. "I sense that you're expecting me to rebuke you with the Jedi doing that same?" Even one of such great wit as he, could not fathom a more humorous response. "No, you're quite right. The galaxy would be far better off if the two could agree to disagree and get on with it, in my humble opinion. It'd surely help if they'd realise that, the more they struggle to extinguish the other, the more they ensure their own fall?" He offered a defeated sigh, accompanied by a disappointed shake of his head, as if he presumed to judge millennia-old establishments waging a war that had been going since time immemorial.

The only thing un-Jedi-like about it was that he didn't claim to be trying to fix it with harsh adherence to his creed, and perseverance in the name of the greater good.

"I don't assign edgy monikers to people unless they've earned them,"

Raising his head again, he offered a polite chuckle, before piping up. "Ah, no- I meant the profane titles the Sith tend to claim." He clarified, before offering a wink, "Take it as a compliment, but I have you figured for a Darth." Ever a charmer, Tiber would never have guessed he'd find such interesting conversation on the bridge of a warship, and with a Sith of all people.

The Force seemed to be making a dangerous habit of giving him the most bizarre scenarios for him to find enjoyment in.

"My name ... is Zlova Rue."

He nodded, holding Zlova's golden-eye'd gaze with his own ocean-blue. "Tiber. I'm not quite sure if it's a first or last name, the Jedi hadn't the courtesy to specify." Tiber joked with a soft chuckle, before the corner of his mouth quirked up into a smirk which, compared to the one he'd worn for a majority of their conversation thus far, was most definitely flirtatious. "I suppose in your way, I'd be Tiber if you hate me, or Master if you love me~"

Truth be told, the prideful huff that followed was the best he could do to stifle a full-bodied laugh, at his own expense, of course. He took a moment to consider the ensuing question, though. Not just because he didn't have one, but because it made him think about what he was. The Jedi were humble and used their own names in their titles, and he was neither a Jedi, nor humble. The Sith were prideful and tried to have the grandest name. He was neither a Sith, nor prideful. The Mandalorians were simple, and used their defining achievements. He not a Mandalorian, nor was he plain.

After a brief moment of consideration, Tiber spoke up with a certain confidence. "
I suppose, if I had to be remembered, it'd be as the Dark Master. I'm no Sith, but I'm open to your suggestions. I've hardly considered it much."

A frown crossed her face at the other question the Commander asked, and she turned to look back out the viewport. No Captain would desire to express any shortcomings of their ship or crew to another officer, especially one outside her own chain of command. It did not matter all too much if today ended peacefully, as she hoped, but if it would come to combat, then things would truly be put to the test. She gestured with one hand, waiting until he was almost right beside her against the viewport before speaking.

If it were any other time or place, Commander, that question would have earned you a quick dismissal from my bridge. But today,” she glanced back out to the waiting Enclave fleet, “an exception will be made. This ship and its crew are brand new, Commander. I have been quick to reassign those officers who can not maintain my standards, but there are always those who fall through the cracks. I would say this crew is better prepared for most, but should this descend into a shooting war, it will be their first true test.” Everything she said was kept barely above a whisper, as to avoid any of her bridge crew from picking up on the conversation.

Beyond yourself and a detachment of the 181st, led by Jaida Tess on this ship, none besides myself or my command staff have seen combat. I am a Rampart graduate, not a Bastion or Prefsbelt graduate. I get what they have left over.” As she was speaking, a chime began to sound across the bridge, first informing her that the 181st were ready for rapid deployment, earning a quick affirmative from the bridge, but a second, louder chime echoed out as well. Her communication officer turned towards her, one hand held against the comm unit against his ear. “Captain, we are receiving a direct communication from the UES Requiem, requesting to speak to you.

Leandra’s brow furrowed slightly in confusion, and she glanced at the Commander beside her for a moment as she thought before turning back to the communication officer. “File an official notice in the logs for this operation that at,” she glanced down at the chrono unit on her wrist, and read out the exact time down to the second, “the flagship of the Enclave fleet has reached out to make direct communication with the NIV Harkenfang. Keeping with Imperial Naval Code, communication will be accepted and recorded.” As her crew went on about the required tasks for such a meeting, Leandra turned to look at the Commander of SCAR squad. “Commander, I would ask that you remain on the bridge to serve as a second and independent witness to this communication.

With everything put in pace, Leandra finally made her way to the communication station on the bridge, and with a brief nod to the young officer, the channel was accepted. “This is Captain Leandra Brax, commanding officer of the NIV Harkenfang. What is the nature of this communication?” She had a hunch already what it was about, but she would allow the Mandalorians to speak their peace first.

Zlova's smile grew slightly at Tiber suggesting he might be inclined to some... experimentation. Unlike some, however, the man didn't make any moves -- large or small -- to suggest she'd gotten under his skin (or his clothes). How interesting. The seductress hadn't used her body to infiltrate an organization in some time now, but Zlova hoped she hadn't lost her touch -- or her sex appeal. Perhaps the man was just that disciplined.

Hm, yes, speaking of unpleasantness. The two of them were forced to turn their attention in the direction of a certain Captain that wanted to make sure his guests knew the proper form of address. Tiber was quick with the remark, while the Twi'lek simply stared at Vemric for a moment. While she might need to look up slightly at the man to see his eyes, the Lethan wasn't the least bit intimidated by his physique. Nor cowed by his remarks.

Sir was entirely out of the question. A Sith Emperor would be hard pressed to get her to call them 'Sir.' Kneeling or bowing before someone of power was customary to show you didn't mean to tear their heart out of their chest and shove it back down their throat. Subservience, however, would not do. Even if an Emperor believed their subjects suitably 'controlled.' And as for Vemric, he certainly wasn't Zlova's ruler.

As for Governor... Zlova wouldn't even waste a spark of neural activity to humor that title on a battlefield.

Now, Grand Admiral she could live with. The man did understand he was the Captain of the Ship though, didn't he? Well, a man that ascended to such lofty heights didn't want their achievement to go unremarked. Zlova could appreciate that, so now that she knew what form of address the man desired... Zlova didn't really care if people liked her, but she had no desire to insult everyone she met. Unless she was in a mood.

Tiber's quip might earn another reply before Vemric turned back to getting in his armor and dealing with matters of real importance. Zlova held her peace, however, though her golden eyes did shine with promise if the man found her quiet displeasing. After all, especially seeing how the Grand Admiral Governor Sir was not yet in his armor, she could kill everyone on that bridge before the guards in the hallway finished scratching their balls.

Thankfully they all got back to what they were good at -- Vemric with his naval management, and the Dark Side users discussing murder and mayhem. On which, the Twi'lek shrugged and resumed smiling once more. "If the intent was to create a perfect galaxy, you'd be right. You can always count on someone to screw that up, however, so it's a race to the bottom. The Jedi think they have all the answers, and the Sith enjoy building their strength. Both options are worthless to me. Conflict does allow for rapid growth, but burning everything to the ground is just a waste."

Oh, those monikers. Blood God. Immortal Ruler of the Known Universe. The Absolute. Some of the more palatable ones were those akin to 'The Red Death' or 'The Vanquisher' -- titles that implied a healthy campaign of victories without presuming no one would ever topple them. No one was immortal. Zlova, herself, expected to die (in battle) eventually. There was no shame in that as long as a warrior gave their all.

The red woman leaned in closer to keep her voice down, "You say the sweetest things." Disciplined and perceptive? Not too many of those around in the Enclave; mostly because so few of them could use the Force. Pleasing to hear someone recognized her 'rank' as a Darth.

"Mm," Zlova reached up to stroke the breatbone region of Tiber with the tip of one finger, "we would have to see about that." Master? Oh, no, she fully expected him to call her Mistress under those circumstances.

Then Tiber said the strangest thing. If he had to be remembered it would be as the 'Dark Master.' Not the sort of title, moniker, or name she would have expected. It was just too direct. Not even a humble flare to it. "Well," Zlova smiled as she straightened up, "I'd have to get to know you before offering any suggestions. Unless you're pledging yourself to me as an Acolyte, in which case I'll pick whatever I want." A small joke since she doubted Tiber had come on that ship expecting to bow before anyone.

She stepped in to close the distance between them as her voice lowered so it was just between the two of them. "I won't bore you with the monikers, Tiber, but you were right earlier. I am Darth Siron. And I don't much care for the shape of Jedi-Sith-Galactic relations at the moment. The Mandalorians enjoy all the combat a woman could want without the constant backstabbing and undermining of every Acolyte and Lord trying to kiss an Emperor's foot or get some nameless deity's personal blessing. Once all of this," a flick of the wrist to gesture out over the bridge and the void beyond, "is over, perhaps we can talk at length about such things." Though she wasn't against discussing some matters now to pass the time.

Todd's shots had merely seemed to piss of the brute as he soon got a massive blast coming towards him. Though he reacted to the blast, it was not quick enough. It hit him, sending him into a group of wooden crates off to the side. The crates had fortunately broken his fall, though it still stung like a queen to be thrown. Getting up his back was covered in the contents of the crates, a mix of bits of fruits and the juices from aforementioned fruits.

Standing back to his height, the doctor was admittedly annoyed from the encounter. While he wasn't killed, his chest was in pain. Looking down at it one may notice flail chest rises. The pain was clearly stemming from a few broken ribs, which could introduce more problems like pneumothorax or hemothorax later on in a high movement fight.

The problem would be eventually resolved, but for now it was time to focus on the fight. Todd pondered how conductive the enemy's armor was, and if he fired a taser onto it, would it send an electric shock through the passenger of said suit. A new plan of attack was thought up right there, the brute knew that Todd's slugs were ineffective against his armor, as they just pinged off, so why not hit him with something bigger?

Raising his revolver again, he was now in movement towards the fight, but still ready to dodge another concussive blast if needed. Firing his magazine, the second to last bullet had a red stripe around the base indicating it was one of his explosive rounds. The hope was to knock the man off his feet, or to disorientate him for a few seconds so the Wardog could get an opening.

Mirinda was none too pleased with her current mission statements. Alot of her 'spook' assignments amounted to sneaking bits of malware into data transfers for intelligence purposes. Which to her was nothing but busy work. They could have had the tech groups make that, but then again, that would involve giving them the actual programs, and bureaucracy and blah blah blah. Maybe Zoraya Ives-Ayres Zoraya Ives-Ayres had gotten the last laugh after all, dooming her to a life of nonsense and red tape. To be fair, it could have been worse, but she much rather would want to work under VADM Tarsa Doon VADM Tarsa Doon . She'd prefer that ever so much.

She sighed, flipping through the pad, working together her tunneling tools, and coupling it with coded messages. Any luck, Mando ships would pick up the messages and tank their scanner gear for a few seconds, not much, but it would be something to give an advantage. She highly doubted Mandalorians had a dedicated IT department, and besides, be nice and helpful for whoever wanted to start throwing punches first. Just need to hook it up into a transceiver and...

She was lost in her own tech world, muttering about ideas and ways to enhance and improve her work, as she stepped into the hanger, unaware of the man that was currently making laps around the perimeter.

Tensions began to mount and grow ever more strained with the passage of time. The arrival of Moff Kilran's fleet was a welcome sight in some respects, and an unwelcome one in others. There were likely many officers within the diplomatic fleet's ranks that would have been encouraged by the addition of 9 Star Destroyers and nearly as many support ships; particularly while staring down the barrel of a formidable defense fleet.

Yet, their presence would undoubtedly raise questions and paranoia amongst the Enclave. The prospect of striking the Enclave's homeworld prior to softening their forces via preceding battles first verged on the side of sheer lunacy, yet Rear Admiral Feros could not fault them for the fear nonetheless. Had the tables been turned and the summit been hosted on Bastion, he couldn't say that neither he nor Grand Moff Korvan himself wouldn't act in the same manner. That wasn't considering the fact that the newly arrived fleet was commanded by Moff Velran Kilran himself, who had a reputation for meandering (and daresay random) monologues, and erratic tactics. Somwhow he got results, but he was thankful he had served under Korvan instead.

In their early days, Feros did not feel so thankful. In fact, he felt it inappropriate for members of the Central Government to involve themselves in military matters. It was not illegal of course, for those who held such positions wielded immense power and authority. But he felt it risky at best - dangerous at worst. Korvan had been an exception though, it would seem. His pedigree as an Admiral in a prior life had commended himself well for the assignment, and for his eventual confirmation as a Grand Admiral. Korvan had earned Feros' trust, and he hoped Kilran at the end of the day would demonstrate himself equally trust worthy given Korvan had entrusted Feros with command of the diplomatic fleet while he was planetside. Hopefully nothing would go wro--

"Sir... are we expecting additional reinforcements?"

The Rear Admiral furrowed his brow. "No. Report, what are you seeing?"

The tactical officer's voice hesitated a moment, but managed to see it through: "Multiple Imperial Signatures emerging from lightspeed sir.”

Rear Admiral Feros stepped over to the tactical console, checking the data filtering through the display. He didn’t have to for long, as within moments nearly a dozen Imperial vessels emerged from lightspeed. Two battlecruisers, flanked on either side by two star destroyers, and supported by a screen of frigates and corvettes began drifting through the void. The Rear Admiral had hardly been able to open his mouth to order a message to be sent when the second tactical officer’s voice cut through like a knife.

“Sir they’re powering up their weapons!”

“RAISE THEM NOW!!-”

It was no use.

The newly arrived Imperial Warships clearly did not care for communication, as their weapon banks powered up and began opening fire on the Enclave lines - massive mass driver cannons and turbolasers combining with missiles batteries as they delivered what amounted to a sucker punch to the Requiem and her support vessels. Rear Admiral Feros’ eyes opened wide.

“ALL POWER TO SHIELDS NOW, AND GET ME FIRING SOLUTIONS ON THESE RENEGADE IMPERIALS! TRY TO RAISE THE REQIUEM NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!”

And so the sound of silence was broken, the tension had been cut right open to unleash the bloodshed of conflict. Venari was about to speak to Tayl when the ship had been hit hard, sending the foundling around in a jumble. Mother comes back on the holo.

"Why do I ever trust that any fleshy organism can handle something?"

Venari locks her helmet on and stands next to their assigned pod.

"Hey! I am a fleshy organism!"

The AI audibly sighs.

"Almost* every fleshy organism... That better?"

Mother says in a playful tone, Venari chuckling as she nods her head.

"Mhmmm, now. Tayl you should get down from the pod, we have some gifts to give to our new buddies after all."

Behind her visor and jokes, Venari was a bit anxious about the whole thing. Those bastards actually shot, and as confusing as it was to wonder why... She couldn't help but worry about her new home. Today she would defend it with pride, no more moving place to place with no family anymore.

"Way ahead of you..." She calls out to Venari, Already shaken off the pod by the sudden vibration across the ship. Viper Team was already scrambling to get into their pods, Everyone lining up and gripping at net or handle bars overhead.

Tayl herself was quick to force herself up off her back and jog over to her own pod, picking up a rifle along the way.
Once inside, she had to answer the chime of a commlink in her ear.

::Little Viper, you forgetting something?::

She just shook her head, trying to remember... All of her gear was in place, Comms were clearly working, what then?
Oh... She forgot to report. Being in command was a new thing to her, after all.

So, she changed the frequency to the boarding party's own, reporting her status to the officers in charge and working under Vemric Keldra .
::Viper-Actual reporting in, On standby for action::

Redsun just nods to her as she looks over her shoulder, nodding back and turning to face the door.
She took a deep breath then, knowing that when those doors closed, they wouldn't open again until either they boarded an imperial vessel, or vice versa. Either way, shots would be exchanged.

It didn't matter to her who fired first just now or what initiated that response in the first place. This about defending her home, And war. The old war. Lives would be spent on both sides, some more wisely than others. She may even lose vode today... But it was their duty, the duty she had spent so long training for. Training that saw her stacking bodies all throughout 1313.

Of the few times she had nearly died in her short, accelerated life, All of them had been for duty sake. Save the once.
If she died today? If her vode died today? She'd see them all again, when she became one with the Manda.
Maybe that wouldn't comfort her mother. But at least, it would comfort Tayl.

"It's good to see you Moff Adera Vellas Adera Vellas Adera Vellas Adera Vellas " Bastion admitted with some relief "This event could use someone with... well diplomacy"
Moff Adera Vellas gave a wan smile.

"I am afraid my expertise does not count for much when it comes to such high-level dialogues, though I thank the stars I was allowed to be present at all."

A small smile graced Runi's lips as her eyes swept over the others present. "Please, while everyone is gathering, make yourselves comfortable. Food and drink is available." She stepped a bit to the side and gestured to a table where refreshments were laid out. Nothing worse than a diplomatic meeting where you 'discussed' vital matters on an empty stomach or with parched lips. It might also afford a few Imperials the opportunity to break away from what they might feel as an awkward moment between the Grand Moff and Braxton. There would be plenty of other dignitaries and representatives for them to meet, after all.
"Please, be seated," he said gruffly, almost politely as he beckoned with a hand towards the empty chairs. Several serving droids moved forward with flasks of Tihaar for Mandalorians present and milder Corellian ale for those who weren't inclined to the strong drink. With the alcohol came chunks of soft brown bread, near tasteless but hardy fare. Mandalorians were not a people for fancy cuisine and much like everything else, their fare was simple and practical. "We have gathered here today to discuss the incident over Ilum." He stated plainly.
"Apologies for my lateness, gentlemen..." he nodded before touching two of his fingers to his temple as if tipping an imaginary hat. "...ma'ams."
Slowly floating into view, the Lord-Regent held to his silence until everyone turned to see who the doors had been opened inward for, holding that silence for another moment or so until he began,'Greetings, ladies an' gentlemen. Excuse my poor time-keeping, though I do aim to be on my feet by this time next year - fat help though that'll be for a while.', briefly cutting himself short to lift himself from the hoverchair into and his allocated seat. Using nought but the rims of the table and of the hoverchair itself, the strength of Lord Erskine's right arm and the convenience of it's cybernetic counterpart made it all the easier for Barran to resume his opening statement, drawling,'Enough with that for now - please continue as you had before.... I'm always quick t'catch up anyway.', as he nestled into his spot at the conference table.
Well, at least everyone was here. The COMPNOR commisioner was here too, which concerned her slightly. Adera took her seat, an unimportant spot somewhere to the fringes of the table. She accepted the citrus-flavoured water and took a sip. No poison in this one.

We are all curious to hear what grievances you all have in regards to the Enclave’s presence.

Adera bit her tongue. Certainly a usable angle, but the insinuation of false flags would have been better delivered after a carefully managed opening discussion that 'organically' brought up doubts of the authenticity of the Enclave fleet. The Mandalorians would easily see through this now, and the only thing Mandos hated was having their honour and integrity doubted in such an open way.

Alas, there was little she could add now that the Commissioner chose to open this way. She whispered to Marcus Bastion Marcus Bastion seated beside her:
"What do you think are the chances the Enclave will disavow this?"
