Born to a homeless mother, and with an unknown father, Katja had few opportunities and learned to rely largely on herself. She grew up homeless as a result of her mother's inability to hold down work. Though they initially lived in a rented room, her mother's increasingly late rent payments ended up with them on the streets in a community of other homeless people and the pair resorted to petty crime to survive.
HISTORY
During their difficult time, her resentment towards her mother grew and cumulated in her stealing a large sum of money that her mother had gained from selling precious stolen jewellery. Katja used the money to leave Hapes for the first time in search of purpose and opportunity which came in the form of the Imperial Academy, advertised in a space station in Imperial space.
With nowhere to go and the promise of food and shelter, she signed up to join the Imperial Army and on account of her resilience and already honed survivalist skills she had made a mark and was noted for potential affinity towards special forces on account of her performance, driven by the knowledge that she had no welcome home to return to should she fail.
Finally with a clear path, her ambitions grew and upon graduating from the Imperial Academy she joined the 501st Stormtroopers Legion as a combat medic.

- Versatile: Since specialising in combat medicine, she needs to ensure that her combat skills are up to standard with other troopers. It is due to this that her main strengths lie in close-range combat as she is often required to defend herself and the injured.
- Elite Soldier: Formerly part of the Empire's special forces, she is highly trained in infiltration and recon.
- Destructive Obedience: Will follow orders to death, only questioning if she believes there is a more efficient way of reaching the objective. However, her attachment to certain individuals has the potential to become an obstacle to complete subservience.
- Authority: Born to a classist society, she enjoys being in a position of power but equally knows her place.
- Genetics: Hereditarily predisposed to poor night-vision and as such is entirely reliant on technology in even dim environments.
- Clumsy: Often forgetful and not mindful of her surroundings unless in a situation that requires a high level of focus.
- Substance Abuse: The horrors of war and the stress of the cognitive dissonance she has between her actions and morality has led to unhealthy coping mechanisms.

- Protective: She is protective over anyone she forms a bond with.
- Distant: She disconnects from the reality of war, not considering the morality of her actions and instead considering it to be the judgement of those who give orders.
- Impatient: Seeks the quickest route for success, sometimes at a cost.
- Flippant: She is often unserious, bordering on disrespectful.
- Teasing: She typically has an unserious attitude, unless the situations calls for it, and often teases squad mates and other familiar faces.
- Passive Aggressive: Not easily provoked to physical aggression but often responds with sarcasm.
- Distrustful: Since fleeing persecution from the Empire, she is more wary of strangers, aware of the bounty on her.

- Bounty on Missing Stormtroopers | A bounty is placed on Katja and Leto who are missing and suspected of being AWOL.
- War on All Fronts | Fearing persecution for killing her fellow Stormtrooper, she seeks refuge with the Jedi on Coruscant.
IN ANOTHER LIFE
Following a perceived betrayal at the hands of the Empire which led to the fracture of her squad, Katja deserts her former allies.
- The Other Side of War | Interrogated by the Alliance following her desertion, she tries to keep the Empire's secrets.
- On the Horizon | Realising that the Empire sacrificed her squad as scapegoats, she feels betrayed and seeks to adapt to life within the Alliance.
