    • Nickname: Chandrila's Flying Fist

  • Fleet Symbol: A shield-shaped blue backdrop represents Chandrila's ancient maritime history and the Defense Fleet's purpose to guard its home planet. The two silhouettes of an X-wing's laser cannons intersect at the center, signifying the planet's role in training the pilots of the now-ancient New Republic Starfighter Corps. The aurabesh numeral for 7 overlaps the cross of cannons. Bellow the cross is the Aurabesh word for "Chandrila."
  • Description: Often referred to as "Chandrila's Flying Fist," the 7th Flotilla takes the role of a forward-operating-- while still fundamentally defensive-- task force. They often rest on the very borders of Chandrila's legal territory, and at times expand outward given the rise of new threats. The unit takes advantage of its mobility and versatility to great effect, seeking to quell disruptions before they can possibly be allowed to spiral out of control; this is accomplished by delivering powerful "punches," catching enemy vessels with the fingers of hyperspace interdiction, and compressing them into scorch-ridden cubes through the employment of nimble starfighter squadrons, and missile strikes.

  • Goals: To roam the farthest edges of the Chandrila System, intercepting any threats to its stability-- be it pirates, or the fleets of the Galactic Alliance's rival factions.
  • Reputation: Among the ranks of the Chandrilan Defense Fleet, and the populace of Chandrila itself, the 7th Flotilla has been celebrated for a plethora of military successes; it has been held on a pedestal as a symbol of Chandrila's capacity to retaliate against the forces of darkness. Even within the ranks of the much larger Galactic Alliance Defense Force the flotilla has earned a position of respect, and at times assists Alliance military forces with operations in the Bormea Sector.

    • A relatively fresh face to the 7th Flotilla's leadership, Fraylhda was only recently appointed the unit's commanding officer following the retirement of her predecessor, Admiral Graves (see Historical Information). She is nonetheless a competent leader and runs a tight ship aboard the CDFS Ballad, encouraging cooperation and collaboration throughout the flotilla's ranks.

    • Species: Mon Calamari
    • Age: Late forties
    • Unit and Role: 16th Carrier Line - Commanding Officer
    • Flagship: CDFS Manticore - Liberator-class Star Defender
    • While Mon Calamari in species, Kross was raised on Chandrila's surface and therefore shares the same loyalty to the planet as his fellow officers. He has served in the Chandrilan Defense Fleet for decades as a well-regarded carrier tactician.
  • Commanding Officer of the 5th: Commodore Kothre Eedo
    • Species: Human (Chandrilan Variant)
    • Age: Late Thirties
    • Unit and Role: 5th Missile Line - Commanding Officer
    • Flagship: CDFS Megara - Arbitrator-class Missile Frigate
    • Kothre has often been proclaimed "unconventional" by the ranks of the 7th, both for his unusually cheerful demeanor and tendency to sing while on the bridge of his flagship. Though, even while possessing this unique reputation amongst his subordinates, the commodore still encourages the utmost professionalism during combat situations and training exercises.
  • Commanding Officer of the 13th: Rear Admiral Kiedrada Pothal
    • Species: Human (Chandrilan Variant)
    • Age: Early Forties
    • Unit and Role: 13th Battle Line - Commanding Officer
    • Flagship: CDFS Bishop - Scythe-class Main Battle Cruiser
    • Out of all her peers in the admiralty, Kiedrada by far has spent the most time on the roster of the 7th Flotilla. After concluding her academy training, Pothal's first assignment was aboard the CDFS Pathfinder, one of the 7th's former flagships, as a gunnery crewman who earned a commission through countless years of service. For her humbler origins, Kiedrada enjoys a good deal of respect from her subordinates.
  • Fleet Intelligence Liason: Commander Secol Dreyn
    • Species: Human (Chandrilan Variant)
    • Age: Early Thirties
    • Division: Fleet Intelligence
    • Based Aboard: CDFS Ballad - Endurance II-class Fleet Carrier
    • As the flotilla's highest-ranking intelligence officer, Secol is tasked with analyzing sector data to draft the 7th's patrol routes in the most effective manner possible, and relaying the formation's logs to Naval Intelligence for further study. She has, rather unexpectedly, been observed to be a very solitary person, scarce to engage in conversation not pertaining to her duties. However, the commander has formed friendlier relationships with select members of the unit's senior staff.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Chandrila's history is filled with the exploits of great peacemakers, those unwilling to resort to violence unless absolutely necessary. And as a result of their efforts, the Chandrilan Defense Forces were largely kept limited in size and offensive potential. But the principles that once governed these notions have begun to grow increasingly ineffective in recent years. The galaxy has been devastated by the so-called Gulag Plague, and has once more been tossed into a state of warfare and aggression.

Realizing this, the Chandrilan government would begin the gradual development of their armed forces; and among their many reforms would be the establishment of the 11th Chandrilan Carrier Line, one of the planet's first offensive-minded formations. Assembled under the command of Commodore Pella Graves, the 11th was assigned the duty of scouring the fringes of Chandrilan territory for signs of hostile action. For its earliest years, this merely put the 11th Carrier Line in the path of pirates, raiders preying on allied supply ships. But this relative peace would not last. Chandrila quickly found itself placed under the umbrella of the emerging Galactic Alliance, and as punishment the planet was placed in the Sith's line of fire. Violent incursions were made into Chandrilan territory, incursions which the 11th would be found again and again responding to.

They held strong even when the throat of the Galactic Alliance was slit, continuing to fight in the name of Chandrila's prosperity throughout the years of exodus. For the efforts of the Chandrilan Defense Forces, their planet still survived as the banner of freedom was once again planted atop Coruscant and the allied worlds of the former Alliance; further as a new Galactic Alliance was restored in the spirit of its predecessors; and throughout the years to follow.

For her bravery and leadership, Graves was awarded the rank of Rear Admiral; and with the blessing and funding of Senator Eboi Seth Eboi Seth , the 11th Carrier Line was soon expanded in scope and reorganized as the 7th Chandrilan Flotilla. Since this turning point in the formation's history, the flotilla has seen a number of commanders rise to prominence, and a number of vessels registered in their ranks. But the dreams so embedded in their history remain in perfect clarity.

As long as the 7th Flotilla stands, it will defend Chandrilan prosperity; it will stand as a symbol of hope for the Chandrilan people; and it will remain defiant to the forces of corruption and darkness.
