ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Anti-Starfighter — The Arrowhead-class is well-equipped to counter starfighter harassment with its array of missile launchers and laser batteries.
  • Speed The Arrowhead-class is able to move at an incredible speed compared to most capital ships in its size bracket.
  • Maneuverability — The Arrowhead-class has an impressive array of engines with an additional booster system installed, which together, enable this interdictor cruiser to make sudden and smooth turns in a short amount of time.
  • Interdiction Field — The Arrowhead-class can generate an interdiction field that can prevent multiple ships in a star system from being able to use their hyperdrive systems.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Firepower — This capital ship was not equipped with enough weapon emplacements for it to engage in ship-to-ship combat. The Alliance-class was not intended to serve in the vanguard.
  • Light Armor — This capital ship does not have the armor to withstand a barrage from heavy enemy fire. The couple of centimeters of durasteel armor plating that separate the crew from certain death provides them little comfort.
  • Exposed Rear — The rear of this capital ship does not have adequate defensive or offensive measures to protect the engines from enemy harassment.
  • EMP Weapons — This capital ship does not have adequate resistance to natural phenomena or weapons that cause electrical disturbances.

DESCRIPTION
As part of the Pacific Program, the Federal Cooperative began to look into building a more cost-effective interdictor. The Republic was disintegrating under the repeated incursions of the One Sith Empire, and was becoming strapped for credits.

Due to these budgetary limitations, the team responsible for Project Arrowhead were directed to cut costs whenever possible. As a consequence of this directive, the design team decided on alusteel for the ship’s hull, a more cost-effective, albeit weaker material than durasteel. To compensate for the weaker hull, the design team added additional engines and boosters to provide the Arrowhead-class with speed and mobility.

The Republic fell apart in 847 ABY. Similar to other designs in the Pacific Program, the incomplete design for the Gravitas-class was shelved.

A decade later the Pacific Program was reactivated. Democracy was beginning to re-emerge and the Federal Cooperative was eager to arm these movements. Project Arrowhead was revived as part of these renewed efforts. A new design team would be brought onboard, they would sacrifice weapon emplacements in favor of increasing power toward the gravity well projectors, and increasing their effective range. The project was concluded in 858 ABY. The Federal Cooperative initiated construction the following year, and would launch a new generation of interdictor vessels the year after.

9/7/2020 - Mennefer added a separator above the description section.
9/9/2020 - Edited up the armaments according to a new personal formula I came-up with to be more consistent across my ship designs. Increased weapon emplacements from 25 to 48. Changed the mobility rating to Extreme, decreased the defense rating to low.
9/11/2020 - Added additional strengths and weaknesses.
