SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Battle Bridge: The MCv110 features two prominent command/navigation bridges, one dorsal and one ventral. While primary combat operations are conducted from the ships CIC (nestled inside the prow), these 'battle bridges' give the vessel good combat redundancy in the event of damage sustained.

  • Ventral Escape Pods: Perfect size for droids, important plans, and plot devices.

Strengths:
  • General Purpose: The MCv110 is a classic Multirole ship, designed to perform many different roles admirably.
  • Built Mon Cal Tough: Excellent shields, solid armor plating, and overlapping hull design give it remarkable toughness for its size.
Weaknesses:
  • Shield Dependant: The MCv110 is perhaps overdependant on shields for its defense. While it features effective layered armor plating and a dense hull design as per typical Mon Cal designs, most of its defense rating is still focused on the overlapping shield system, and the ship is potentially vulnerable to shield piercing weapons.
  • Under-Specialized: Will lose a fight to a dedicated corvette killer, generally.

DESCRIPTION
A legacy Mon Calamari design updated for the current generation, the MCv110 is unusually small for a MCS vessel, but is well made and versatile as befitting the stellar reputation of the shipyard. Designed as a general purpose corvette (the ship is technically a frigate by the Anaxes War College system, but only barely) the MCv features respectable firepower and speed, and legendary MCS Durability in a compact package, but sacrifices any form of combat hanger to get there.

Primary armament is a set of three oversized heavy turbolasers, weapons typically drawn from extra stock of cruiser main battery cannons. Mounted on gimballed, fixed mounts, these 'major caliber' turbolasers give the MCv110 a significant ability to punch above their weight and present a credible threat to larger vessels. This is rounded out by a secondary battery of typical twin turbolaser turrets, and a pair of heavy ion cannons. As befitting a 'corvette,' the MCv110 has a respectable spread of point defense laser cannons with excellent coverage, and finally is rounded out by a small VLS system with the option to load any standard sized missile. Like most MCS ships, the turbolaser turrets feature a very effective and well integrated targeting system, and are perfectly capable of targeting strike craft and other small, quick ships.

The ship is quick and has heavy shields, along with good armor plating and a dense hull design. All this extra mass, and with the main propulsion focused on a single axis, makes the ship a bit sluggish in maneuvering. The shields are distributed around the ship with overlapping coverage, giving it a great recharge rate and making it difficult to disable. It is also designed from the ground up as a warship, and therefore not terribly spacious, nor does it feature the extensive creature comforts that are sometimes seen on MCS vessels, a legacy of their history of converting civilian ships.

Overall, the MCv has been a production model for decades, and can be seen in use across the galaxy in the hands of planetary defense forces, galactic navies, warlord fleets, pirate armadas, and more.
