Saram's Equipment

'WARNING! Seismic charge detonation detected,' chimed the warning from her armor's battlenet module. 'No shabla kidding,' she sarcastically mused to herself. The sudden shift made her beskar'gam's personal cloaking module flicker a few times before it managed to recover. A seismic charge? Was that them? Saram glanced at the estimated point of detonation and the estimated damage done on the tacmap. There was only one individual present that she could think of that was both dini'la and had the gett'se to pull that off. On a bizarre hunch, she glanced at the location of a particular Basilisk war droid and almost instantly put two and two together. She wasn't sure if she should chew him out for being such a dini'la di'kut or praise him for the ingenuity of the plan.

Whoever the shab said the force or whatever it was that had a say in how much the galaxy messed around with you didn't have a sense of humor was a shabla liar. Right at that precise moment a transmission from said dinli filtered through her buy'ce.

:: Change of plan, we gotta hurry. Prepare for pickup. ::

Saram's mouth opened so she could give him an earful but shut again when a transmission from their corvette's alor'ad came through almost immediately afterward, "Prudii Rekr lead to Davaab lead, respectfully, what in haran is going on over there. Sensor display is lit up like a life day display on Coruscant." Spar's confusion and frustration were more than justified, Yuri hadn't just changed the plan, he had fired it from a mass-driver into the nearest star. At the very least, she hoped he had good reason for doing so.

"Davaab lead, rapid change of plans? I have no shabla clue, really, just be prepared for a rapid extract," she fired back. Spar groaned in frustration and then the connection was terminated. She owed Spar another bottle of nice tihaar, the stuff they brewed on the flagship. It was supposed to all be the same, but somehow what they came up with on the flagship just tasted better. With Spar hopefully placated and plans to further mollify him in place, there was the small matter of getting them to their corvette.

"Davaab lead to Galaar 1-1, we need an extract," Saram said as she tagged the nearest airlock on the tacmap. She glanced over at the outlines of the others on her HUD. Medical feeds told her what she expected was the case, but she decided to check to be sure, ret'lini. A series of green status signals flashed in her HUD in response. "Okay, Davaab, you heard him, we're getting the shab out of here. First, I don't want to be a rude house guest, we're going to leave something behind for our Imp friends. Anila, do your worst, just make it quick."

Anila didn't need a second invitation, she crouched down and pulled a pair of SCDP-01 Seismic Charge Detonation Packs from her pack, one at a time and placed them beside her. Saram glanced away, leaving Anila to work. A moment later, the armed charges appeared on her TACMAP, set on remote detonation apparently. "Alright, vode, let's get the haran off this station before something else happens." It was a little over one galactic standard kilometer to the airlock she'd marked for Rav to pick them up at. Should take them no time.

Weapons up, Davaab squad made it to the airlock in record time. The airlock fell free with a thud no sooner than they'd arrived. Had this been the first time Rav had checked the TACMAP and cut the airlock in time for their arrival, Saramr would have been surprised. "Vor'e, Galaar 1-1," came Ran's reply over the comms before he turned and added to her, "Maybe we should make that two nice bottles of tihaar?" Saram laughed, somehow they always came up with the same plan for placating their seemingly endlessly patiently gunship tra'ad and corvette alor'ad.

The rest of Davaab filed in before Ran and herself, taking their seats and strapping in. Rav wasted no time in burning away from the station as fast as was possible without compromising the gunship's stealth profile. "To boom, or not to boom?" asked Anila from the end of the troop bay, prompting every other member of Davaab turned and fixed her with a confused expression, Saram included. "What? I like to change things up, keep people in suspense," she protested, no doubt keenly aware of all the eyes on her. In all the years Saram had known her, that was sure as the Manda not the case. "Just kidding," she said after a moment's pause, letting out an amused snort, and then transmitted the detonation signal.

Two brilliantly blue discs exploded outward from the station behind them, Saram didn't bother to check the battlenet for estimated damage. Any damage was good enough in her book, and the data would be there when she wrote the report. "That's one haran of a parting gift," mused Ran out loud with a low-whistle.

"No shabla kidding, alor," scoffed Viraen. "You know he's going to think you're trying to out do him now, 'lek?" he asked, unnecessarily turning to face her. Viraen was no doubt talking about Yuri. The mere thought brought an amused grin to her face.

"Well, he should have thought about that before he detonated two of his own without warning," she fired back without missing a beat. "Didn't his buir teach him that's ak'naryc?"

"His buir was Shai shabla Maji, I wouldn't bet your paycheck," Jaing emphatically cut in. Saram cut an instinctive laugh off. Trying to live up to a parent's legacy was something she was all too familiar with. Oh well, who knew, maybe they'd laugh about this over a couple of drinks when this was all over. One thing was sure, the Wild Space Rebellion sure as haran got their credits worth. She very much doubted these Imperials would recover from this anytime soon, let alone forget it.

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
MON CALAMARI SHIPYARDS
MON CALAMARI

Sometimes, Ronhar wondered if his cybernetic implants were having a negative effect on his humanity. After all, he was, by all accounts, more machine than man at this point, and one of Ronhar's greatest fears was that he was slowly turning into a droid: unfeeling, unflinching, and completely devoid of any emotion. That was why he had been hesitant to blast Yuri Maji Yuri Maji the moment he had seen him, on the off chance that he was a completely innocent bystander.

He was sorely regretting his decision not to blast first and ask questions later.

As the alien kneeled down in apparent compliance to Ronhar's demand, he suddenly and without warning activated a hidden seismic charge, detonating it in the section of the station that Ronhar and his men were standing in. Ronhar immediately activated the magnets in his cybernetic legs as he anchored himself to the floor, as the rest of his squad fired their Whipcord Launchers directly into the walls of the station, desperately trying to prevent themselves from being sucked out into the cold vacuum of space. Unfortunately, as Yuri Maji Yuri Maji made their quick exit, they fired off a number of "Whistling Birds" directly at Ronhar's men. Some of time missed the squad entirely, while some embedded themselves into the chest of one unlucky ARC Trooper as the others severed the Whipcord Line that was keeping another ARC Trooper in place, flinging him to his imminent doom outside of the station.

Ronhar and the rest of his men managed to hold their positions until the breach was sealed by an emergency blast door, restoring some modicum of normality to their environment. Without missing a beat, Ronhar and his men began to run back toward the hangar to pursue their mysterious foe, as they informed General FN-999 (restored) FN-999 (restored) of what had just occurred. Not that they really needed to, of course, since Ronhar was sure that the entire station and everyone aboard it had seen, heard and felt the explosion. So too they did sure feel the second one, though by this point Ronhar and his men were securely away from the detonation site.

Alarms were blaring all throughout the hangar as soldiers and civilians alike ran around in a panic, trying to keep some semblance of order despite the attacks and the damage that the shipyards were sustaining. Ronhar and his squad made a beeline for the Night Reaver, despite the protest of the Chief Mechanic, who was still in the process of performing maintenance on the ship and refueling it.

"Woah woah WOAH! What the hell are you doing, Captain? This ship isn't ready to be flown, let alone perform a combat sortie! Are you out of your mind?!?!?", the Chief Mechanic roared as Ronhar pushed him out of the way.

"In case you haven't noticed, we're being blasted to pieces! Literally! Someone's got to stop them from dismantling this station section by section!", Ronhar retorted as he prepped the Night Reaver for launch.

"Oh, hell! If you're going to insist on going out there, you might as well take these", the Chief Mechanic said as he gestured toward a number of sets of Prison Trooper Armor lying on the ground next to the gunship. "I know the Night Reaver is really more suited toward atmospheric operations, but if you want to use her to her full potential, you'll need some sort of supplemental oxygen and protection from the vacuum of space. These suits were sent to me for some repairs, but they'll work well enough for now!"

"Thanks, we'll get some good use out of them. Stay safe, Chief, and may the galaxy be with us."

"May the galaxy be with us indeed! Now get going solider, give em' hell from me and the boys!"

Now wearing pieces of the Prison Trooper Armor provided to them, Ronhar, his surviving squadmates and the Night Reaver shot off into the void as space as they began their hunt for Yuri Maji Yuri Maji ! Based on where the explosions had originated, and the fact that the rebels had thus far avoided blasting the sections of the drifting space station that they had blasted apart, it didn't take a genius to figure out that they were trying to steal parts of the Mon Calamari Shipyards for themselves. That was where Ronhar would search first, and with a lot of skill and a little luck, he might he prevent their imminent theft...

ADMIRAL JOANNE SAVATTI
3RD CARRIER STRIKE GROUP “CATO’S HAMMER"

“Rebel reinforcements inbound!"
Admiral Savatti turned to the battlecarrier’s radar to see five frigate-sized warships emerge out of hyperspace. Three of the five almost immediately opened fire on the Cato from its starboard, the large ship’s hull shaking with a fresh wave of bombardment. Savatti knew she would have to think fast to avoid disaster.

“Redirect a third of turbolasers to the frigates!” ordered the admiral. “Hold position!"

Currently, the admiral and her battlecarrier were trapped between a rock and a hard place. To focus on rebel frigates meant allowing the Mandalorian battleship to strike with impunity, and vice versa. She would have to place all her faith in Imperial reinforcements and Cato’s resilient hull to see the battle through to the end.

Fortunately for the admiral, her faith was soon rewarded.

A new signature emerged out of hyperspace well behind Cato, its onboard IFF systems immediately recognizing it as friendly. Seconds later, a new transmission appeared on the battlecarrier’s comms, the image of a bald middle-aged man emerging out of the onboard holoprojector.

“Admiral Savatti, the Bellerophon is here."

“Thank goodness."

“The general has placed it under your direct command.” continued the captain. "He also secured two squads of Vindicators."

The admiral paused at the mention of the Vindicators. Officially known as the TIE/vi, the Vindicators were amongst the Imperial Confederation’s newest and most formidable starfighters. The presence of even two squads of Vindicators on the battlefield would be a major boon to the admiral’s fleet.

“Launch both Vindicator squads to target the rebel reinforcements.” ordered Admiral Savatti. Cato
’s flight control bridge will take over once they enter its range. Fire the Bellerophon’s missiles to occupy their defenses while the Vindicators advance."

“And if possible,” added the admiral. “lock the hyperspace tracker onto one of the frigates."

“Understood.” concluded the captain. “The tracker should take around five minutes to lock. I’ll keep you posted."

After his concluding remarks, the hologram of the captain descended back into the projector.

The Vindicators could not come any sooner, as Cato’s radar had just picked up a new wave of rebel Y-wings advancing on the carrier alongside a few larger ships of unknown design.

“Have the escorts deploy all TIE wings to intercept.” demanded Admiral Savatti. “And remind me after the fact to add the ships next to the Y-wings to the Imperial database."

She watched from her view high atop Cato’s bridge as turbolasers turned starboard and redirected their fire, the battlecarrier’s shields taking a beating all the while. It seemed as if ion cannons had been added to the mix thanks to the rebel frigates, only adding further stress to Cato’s defensive network as its ion shields absorbed the blow.

Currently, there was no good position for Cato to maneuver to avoid the inevitable second wave of ordinance from the rebel bombers. To turn starboard to face the rebel fleet would reduce the amount of firepower that could be concentrated on the Mandalorian battleship, but to maintain position would require Cato to remain completely still. It would have to rely entirely on its point-defense armament and those of its escorts to deter enemy bombardment.

“Shield integrity below 30%!” warned a deck officer. “We can’t hold out much longer like this!"

“You would be right,” replied Admiral Savatti. “if we did not happen to be stationed a few kilometers away from a major shipyard. Even if the rebels steal or destroy this region of this shipyards, it will not take a significant effort to travel to another, intact portion of the ring. As long as we have sufficient hull integrity to keep the engines running and the starfighters docked, we will be able to repair all and any damage."

The admiral’s point taken, her bridge staff returned to their posts.

XEzDmME.png

A NOTE ON FELIX

Beneath Cato, Felix stewed over reports coming into the Triumph from the battle.

The NCE-100a squads had been nearly annihilated in an instant when the rebel frigates jumped out of hyperspace right on top of them, leaving only wreckage in their wake. The few survivors had broken formation, preoccupied solely with returning to the safety of their carriers. For the two Laimar-class carriers under Felix’s command, the only vessels of his in good condition, it signaled the end of their usefulness in the current naval battle.

“Persuader and Monarch, jump to hyperspace once all stragglers are picked up.” ordered Felix. “You have done all you could. It is no longer safe to remain in the system."

Next, Felix turned towards his radar, which was showing the commodore the same updates picked up by Admiral Savatti above. A new bomber wing was advancing on the Cato right as it became pinned down between the Mandalorian battleship and the rebel frigates. Despite the fact that the Triumph had barely begun to recover from the initial assault, Felix knew that defending the Cato took priority.

“Deploy our TIE wing posthaste.” ordered Felix. “Turn starboard and advance at half thrust. Concentrate power in shields and point-defense batteries. We need to distract as many of those bloody rebels as possible."

In a matter of minutes, Triumph’s TIE wing had joined those of the two Celox frigates as they raced to intercept the rebel bomber wing.

XEzDmME.png

CATO’S STARFIGHTERS

Imperial bombers emptied last of their ordinance into the hull and exposed weapons of the Mandalorian battleship.

They then abruptly turned course, veering outside the warship’s flak cloud before soaring straight back towards the safety of Cato’s hangars. Their surviving starfighters followed the bombers back to their mothership, dueling with their Mandalorian counterparts to keep them occupied before breaking away at the last second. Once safely within the range of Cato’s point-defense cannons, around half the remaining fighter wings veered towards starboard to join the diverse assortment of TIEs rushing to intercept the rebel bombers.

XEzDmME.png

MYNOCK SQUADRON

The first of the Vindicators to depart Bellerophon were those of Mynock Squadron.

As a decorated squadron of elite pilots, the Mynocks were well-suited for the challenge posed by the rebel starfighters.

[Mynock One, I’m picking up signatures from unknown craft alongside the Y-wings.] radioed in Mynock Three.

[They’re our main target.] replied Mynock One. [All Mynocks, pick a target and engage. You know the drill.]

The Vindicators rapidly sped ahead of the Meteors, Defenders, and Supremacys before splitting into pairs just outside firing range, each Vindicator opening fire with a pair of brilliant missiles and a burst from their ion cannons.

XEzDmME.png

THE SIX MUSKETEERS

The second squad of Vindicators took off from
Bellerophon’s hangar around a minute after the first.
They were followed by forty-eight homing concussion missiles fired by the Bellerophon at the rebel frigates. The Vindicators dove to let the missiles pass and then continued diving even further, descending well below the main TIE formation assembled to meet the rebel bombers. They proceeded to bypass the rebel starfighters altogether, crossing directly underneath the orbital shipyards of Mon Calamari before emerging several kilometers away from the frigates.

The Six Musketeers struck quickly, first firing eight advanced concussion missiles each and then briefly strafing the underside of the frigates with their laser and ion cannons before breaking off to avoid point-defense fire.

In Battlefield:
In Battlefield, Reserve:
  • NCE-100 squadrons are utterly routed and scattered survivors flee to their carriers
  • Cato diverts a third of its turbolaser armament to engage the three Solo-class frigates
  • Surviving Cato bombers return to carrier after unloading their ordinance
  • Surviving starfighters launch a fighting retreat to cover the bombers
  • All surviving ships excluding the two Laimars fire point-defense weapons at advancing bombers
  • Both Celox-class frigates and Triumph deploy their TIE/ss wings
  • A total of 5 TIE/ss squads, 2 TIE/ME squads, 1 TIE/da squad, and 1 TIE/VI squad are redeployed to engage advancing rebel bombers
  • Bellerophon exits hyperspace, locks its hyperspace tracker on the lead Solo and deploys two TIE/VI squads
  • Mynock Squadron (TIE Vindicators) fires upon the unknown rebel bombers
  • The Six Musketeers (TIE Vindicators) strafe rebel frigates
  • Bellerophon fires 48 smart concussion missiles towards the three Solos
  • Persuader and Monarch flee into hyperspace

WHO DROPPED THE HAMMER?

I am npc’ing Darion of Myrkr Darion of Myrkr ‘s assaulters, as he will not be posting again in this thread.

The Gundark's secondary engine system, which thus far had remained silent and deactivated, suddenly roared to life, as the Gundark attempted to break the hold that the Vod'gam currently had on it. Unlike its NZ Hermes 980HIF/SE engines, the Gundark's Triple "T" Muscle Motor engines were designed to produce extreme levels of torque and thrust, having been documented tearing Star Destroyer sized tractor beam projectors out of their mountings. As soon as they fired, the Gundark which had previously been "dead in the water", suddenly began moving forward again, the Triple "T" Muscle Motor engines producing enough force to counteract the effects of the statis webifier. While she wouldn't be winning any races anytime soon, the Gundark would at least be able to accomplish its goals of ramming the Vod'gam while providing cover for the CR125U Corvettes.

All things considered, Captain Tennnor's operation was going surprisingly well. The TIE Vultures were beginning to overwhelm the rebel starfighters, Commodore Felix Yorwell Felix Yorwell Felix Yorwell Felix Yorwell had been reinforced by friendly forces, and Captain Tennnor was hopefully about to take the Vod'gam out of the fight. Everyone was going quite well...until it wasn't!

For all of Tennnor's efforts, there was no way she could have planned for five frigate sized vessels jumping out of hyperspace nearly on top of her position! Whether or not they had intended to was irrelevant, because the Gravity Well Projector that Tennnor had fired had most likely caused them to exit hyperspace inadvertently. The Gundark was suddenly rocked by additional turbolaser fire, though most of the shots missed or went wide, due to the hasty nature of the enemy's attack. Still, given the odds against them, it was looking increasingly likely that Tennnor's fleet was going to have to retreat.

Just when things began looking like they were breaking their way, the galaxy had a talent for shitting over everything everywhere all at once. At first, Kjartan could feel relief wash over him when the cruiser before him began to slow down and crawl to a stop. But then, the ship engaged its afterburners and pushed its way forward ever still.

That smile was almost immediately turned upside down into a frown. “Kark me bloody...” Kjartan grumbled under his breath. But he soon began speaking again very loudly. “HELM! Bring us straight on facing against the cruiser. Be ready with those maneuvering thrusters on my mark. AND SOMEONE SPOOL UP THE BACKUP HYPERDRIVE!”

He turned over to tactical as the engineering and nav officers set about making their preparations. “I want all our karkin’ ventral turbolasers to rake the hell out of that cruiser when he passes us.”

If he passes us.” Something about that damn tone made Kjartan wince his eyes at the woman, but he knew well enough that she was more than capable of giving him a keldabe handshake if she had a mind to. Maybe if they made it out of this, she’d give him... a little less of that and a little more of something else.

Even still, he didn’t have much time to think about such things. Kjartan lastly turned to the comms station. “Tell that son-of-a-kath hound Yuri Maji Yuri Maji that we’re leaving in five minutes. He wanted a distraction, well I think they’re pretty karking distracted!”

The comms officer let out a nervous chuckle, and all of a sudden time seemed to pass slower than it had a few moments prior. Given the slight pause of the Gundark’s progress, the Vod’gam had time to pivot further to a head-on position in relation to the Imperial cruiser. The two capital ships began inching closer, with the cruiser barreling toward the ventral-fore section of the Mandalorian warship’s hull.

One could almost hear their heart beat, until the gravelly voice of Kjartan cut through the tension like a knife.“ENGAGE EMERGENCY THRUSTERS NOW!”

As the Gundark’s trajectory on a collision course seemed all but certain, the Vod’gam’s emergency maneuver thrusters all along the starboard side burst to life. Despite how unwieldy and massive the ship was, it shifted sideways with surprising alacrity - so much so, that the cruiser drifted narrowly by the starboard-ventral section of the hull.

It was not a clean miss, however.

There were several sections where the two ships’ hulls scraped violently against each other, causing explosive decompression along the friction points of the Vod’gam, and for the shields to shudder violently. Emergency airlock shutters were deployed, but not before several bodies were pulled from safety and helplessly into the void beyond.

The Vod’gam’s underside turbolasers belched fire upon what would be the exposed side of the cruiser, and @Darion of Myrkr’s basilisk squadron would strafe along the opposing side of the cruiser - targeting the sections along her power stations before returning to the hangar bay of the Star Destroyer. ECM jammer arrays began lashing out at the subsystems of the cruiser in a concerted effort to break free from the gravimetric field she was exerting, if only briefly.

Meanwhile, Cato had finished repositioning itself. Where it had previously only been able to broadside the Mandalorian warship, by turning to port it was now fully facing its adversary and could open fire with its entire forward armament. The carrier’s turbolaser and ion cannon barrage became both more numerous and more accurate as its targeting systems attained a secure lock on the Mandalorian warship. However, this repositioning meant that the carrier’s starboard flank was now exposed to any additional hostile craft that might arrive...

As this was happening, the Cato’s forward turbolaser fire shook the opposite side of the vessel, causing emergency klaxons to scream throughout the bridge. Kjartan was thrown from his feet as he fell forward, faceplanting on the durasteel floor paneling. The ship would soon right itself, and the warchief was almost instantly helped up by those around him. Blood welled up along an open wound on his brow, yet the pirate did not have time to worry about that now, as the forgemaster’s voice rose above the din: “Shields are holding but they’ve taken significant damage Alor! We won’t be able to endure much more of this.”

Kjartan paused as he looked through the viewports. His own main armaments continued their assault against the Cato, and yet he knew they could not remain for much longer. He glanced at his tactical display. The five minute window was nearly up for Yuri Maji Yuri Maji and his party to get their asses out, and either aboard the Vod’gam or otherwise in a position where they no longer needed the “distraction” that the Mandalorian warship had provided.

It was then, that he regarded the rebels who lashed out to support him; trying to draw away some of the attention so viciously focused on him. They were brave men and women, all.

So brave in fact, that he was about to let them die for the cause they fought for.

As if reading his mind, the forgemaster nodded at his Alor. “The backup hyperdrive is ready Alor, and we have a brief window. But we must go now.”

Kjartan blinked, then nodded. “Engage.”

The primary hyperdrive hummed as if bogged down by an unseen weight, unable to respond to the ship-board command. But the backup hyperdrive wined and spun, taking advantage of the brief window the Vod’gam’s ECM suite and the potential damage dealt by her guns and basilisk squadrons to spool up. The Star Destroyer’s engines flared to maximum, and within moments -

She was gone; narrowly passing by as the Bellerophon warped in to snap the cage around her - yet only moments too late.

The Mandalorians came, kicked the door down, and as the blows became too much for them to handle, they left.

/exit thread.

Vod’gam
  • Shields - Severe Damage
  • Armor - Moderate-Severe Damage - Armor integrity compromised
  • Superstructure - Light-Moderate Damage - hull breaches. Repairs underway

  • The Vod’gam engages her maneuvering thrusters to narrowly avoid a direct collision with the Gundark.
  • The maneuver is not clean however, as the two ships scrape along each other, causing a severe increase in hull breaches along the Vod’gam.
  • The Vod’gam opens fire with all available turbolasers upon the Gundark as she passes by, and Darion’s basilisks perform a strafing run before returning to the hangar.
  • The Vod’gam continues lashing out at the Cato with her main armaments.
  • At the same time as the assault with the Cato continues, the Vod’gam lashes out with an intense ECM attack to open a window of escape while her secondary hyperdrive spools up.
  • After listing and taking severe damage, the Vod’gam takes the window and launches into hyperspeed to escape - narrowly before the arrival of the Bellerophon

Mon Calamari Shipyards, Northern Sector

FN-999 had almost arrived at hangar 65A when his portable comms blared.

The first transmission was supposedly from a Sith Pureblood, and the general immediately hung up. He already had enough on his plate, and simply did not have the time to concern himself with a Sith posing as an ally. The other transmission however was far more relevant.
“This is Titan Ten to North Sector command! General, can you transmit coordinates for the hypermatter reserves? I can make a trench run through the sector in order to reach them, before setting them off with my cannons!”

[Affirmative, Titan Ten. One of my officers will send the coordinates directly to your fighter.]

FN-999 promptly radioed in his general staff, most of whom were still at their stations.

[Before you evacuate, please send the coordinates of the hypermatter reserves to Titan Ten of Titan Squadron.]

The general knew that his staff would carry out his orders to the word, uploading the coordinates of the three nearest hypermatter reserve stores to the famed TIE wing. Their firepower and expertise would certainly be of assistance in the urgent operation to scuttle the shipyard sector before the rebels could secure it.

Across the northern shipyard ring, hundreds of crates of pure hypermatter had been strategically placed around partially completed frigates, cruisers, and Star Destroyers. After all the drydocks in the region had been evacuated of personnel and sensitive equipment, the scuttling process began. Explosive charges were placed on one crate in each drydock, their timers set to five minutes before detonation. Then the remaining stormtroopers fled into the hallway, aiming to put as much distance between themselves and the inevitable explosion as possible.

Five minutes later, the explosive charges detonated atop individual crates of hypermatter.

The resulting chain reaction tore through every drydock in the northern sector in an instant, leaving behind only warped machinery and wrecked hulls. A shockwave no less powerful than the one caused by rebel infiltrators ripped through the battered shipyards, confirming to the Imperial defenders that their own act of sabotage had succeeded.

The rebels might be able to steal a large portion of the Mon Calamari orbital shipyard, but not before the Imperials could deny them of all the formidable capital ships inside.

FN-999 arrived at Hangar 65A just as the second shockwave hit him, sending him stumbling a step backwards. He quickly regained his footing however, running towards the tarmac where an empty Lambda shuttle awaited him.

“Coordinates received! We’ll have those reserves blown up for you. Titan Ten, out!”

With that, Priesse cut the line, before switching back to Titan Squadron’s main channel. She transmitted the coordinates to the reserves to Titan Nine, Eleven, and Twelve. Then, glancing behind her, she caught sight of Titan Eleven’s diminutive TIE Pixie and Titan Twelve’s X3-A Striker, both of which were already in formation and ready to guard her flanks.

“Thank you for the assistance, Eleven. Our objective is to detonate the hypermatter reserves inside the north sector, in order to deny these shipyards to the enemy. Those reserves are our only targets. We hit them and we leave. On me!”

So this was what leadership felt like. Priesse eyes went wide as the realization settled over her. She had just given orders, a task which she had struggled with back at the academy. Nevertheless, shaking her head in an effort to clear the sudden wave of anxiety from her thoughts, she pitched her TIE into a dive, angling for a gaping maw in the side of a construction sphere. It was a maintenance and entry port for small craft, forming a tunnel that led to the heart of the northern quadrant shipyard. She crossed the threshold, and the starfield vanished, replaced by the tight embrace of the shipyard’s interior.

What she entered was a canyon of engineering, walls forming a seemingly chaotic lattice of control panels, power conduits, and heavy blast doors bathed in the harsh glare of arc-welder flashes and emergency strobes. She flew past a line of docked freighters, their power signatures faint on her sensors. Gantries whipped by overhead so close that Priesse could pick out individual rivets.

She banked hard, following the curve of the main conduit. Ahead, the tunnel forked. Priesse glanced at her readout and made a quick decision.

“Left! Follow my lead!”

Priesse banked to port, plunging her fighter into a narrower passage. However, before long it opened into a vast, cathedral-like space. One of the main assembly bays of the northern quadrant. Dozens of starfighter hulls, in various stages of completion, hung from the gantries like metallic cocoons. There, around the bay’s central support pillar, were the three hypermatter reserve tanks.

“Hypermatter reserves sighted. Target locked!” Her voice rang out with focused intensity. “Get ready to turn back!”

Her disruptor cannons opened up. Teal-hued bolts lanced across the bay, vaporizing each of the three reserve tanks in rapid succession. A massive, fiery explosion bloomed, and Priesse whipped her TIE back around in a violent drop-kick turn before gunning the engines at near-full thrust to escape the searing inferno raging in her wake!

Mowing through Stormtroopers was a dream that her younger self couldn't imagine back during her prime. Nowadays, she felt like her younger self was further away from herself than she ever was.

Nowadays, she felt like a force of nature, more than a woman calling herself a warrior.

And yet, the past always came back to haunt her. The goal was to distract, to allow the saboteurs to keep going. She knew what was coming. She knew what was prepping to come out of hyperspace. It had all been precoordinated. Timing was everything. And yet, her eye caught something. A stormtrooper fleeing towards a shuttle.

A stormtrooper she'd seen before.

A single slash at the air was all it took, a crack of lightning launching through the air that wrecked the engines of the shuttle.

"I remember you..."
She growled as she charged forward towards Nines.

She wanted another helmet to mount in her weapon's rack.

With the two fighters off his tail, Anthony's focus shifted. He thought he could chase them down and lure them into a trap, but they were smart enough to not fall for that. Not smart enough to prevent the sabotage of the orbital ring though.

Still, he had an opening now. The Imperials were distracted by the incoming frigates, and he knew a thing or two about interdictors.

Pitching up, he pulled his wings back and engaged his thrusters to max. The kick was enough to push him firmly back into his seat, but he didn't need much. He was turning himself into a rocket, aiming straight for one of those cruisers.

Ahead of him, he launched two solid booster rockets, with the new Thunderbolt as a warhead, aimed squarely at the gravity well sphere. The funny thing about gravity well projectors, in order to work, their shielding and armor needs to be minimal on the sphere itself.

Just before he got close enough to activate the enemy's point defense, he opened his wings, opening up with everything. Blaster Cannons, chain lasers, his twin medium turbolasers, and finally...

A pitch up, letting loose two Shadow Bombs with enough explosive power to completely rip open a corvette. Around them, Anthony focused and created a force shield around them, letting them fly towards the cruiser un-impeded.

Zoro knew what was coming.

"Get us out of here." he looked to his comms officers. "Full retreat of the carriers. Before the freighters arrive. Tell Admiral Twin he's in full command."

The three ships turned, heading back towards their base. Where that was? The Empire would just have to find out.

z5cR1Ol.png
The two Astrocats turned their guns, with the corvettes fleeing, they had new targets.

The Bellarephon.

Four superheavy cannons opened up, targetting the massive flagship frigate. All the while, their missile launchers would shift towards scuttling the wounded star destroyer of Ronhar Tane Ronhar Tane 's fleet, CHOMP Rockets firing into the abandoned ship, just enough to allow the fleet to overwhelm it.

It would be enough for the Admiral to shift is focus away from the floating bunker.

The three Solos kept up their firepower. The Cato class was their target, missile launchers and heavy turbolasers ramping up their firepower as the gunshipp frigate unloaded it's full capacity onto the carrier. Thunderbolt munitions fired in sequence, while the forward chainlasers and flak cannons created a wall of death for the incoming TIEs.

That was, if they could get close enough to attack. The X-wings from the beginning of the battle had fled, while the Y-wings that had taken significant damage on their last pass had fled as well. With the enemy interdiction focused on the orbital ring, it gave the rebels an opening to disappear into the pitch. Both now replaced by their counterparts launched from the Solos. The X-wings opened up, engaging the incoming fighters, while the Y-wings pushed forward, using their myriad of defensive guns to open a path for them. They didn't need to get close, just close enough.

And it gave the bombers an opening. As soon as Mynock opened fire, the bombers disappeared into a microjump.

Right on top of the Cato, immediately dropping 400 bombs right into the shields of the flat top of the ship. Enough explosives to crack a star destroyer in half.

The Hurricanes swung around, once more shifting targets. Now, they aimed towards Ronhar Tane Ronhar Tane 's interdictors, ready to open it up. Hundreds of missiles loosed at the ship, hoping to overwhelm the ship.

Soon enough, Yaeger's ride arrived.

Out of hyperspace, a star-destroyer sized superfreighter arrived. Right on queue.

"Breaker Breaker, this is Big Bird, coming in for pickup. Over."

His encrypted radio sang, and Yaeger smiled. There it was. Without waiting for authorization, Yaeger fired up his engines.

And his tractor beams.

The two ships, in unison, locked onto the loose portion of the ring. Just big enough for the two ships to pull it.

And just small enough for both to jump into hyperspace with it. Even if that would take a moment.

"We're back on course, Captain Tennnor! Collision with the enemy vessel is imminent!"

"About damn time", Tennnor growled as the Gundark prepared to ram itself headfirst into the port bow Vod'gam. As powerful as the Gundark was, there was no chance in hell that she could slice directly though a ship as large and as heavily armored as the Vod'gam. If anything, the Gundark would most likely get itself stuff within the superstructure of the enemy vessel, maintaining only a fairly limited amount of overall penetration.

That was what Tennnor was counting on.

After she got the Gundark stuck inside the Vod'gam, she could use her ship's Triple "T" Muscle Motor engines to force the Vod'gam into an unfavorable position, moving her to a spot where Imperial ships could tear her apart piecemeal. In fact, Tennnor was hoping to spin the Vod'gam around so that it's stern was presenting to the Imperials, where the least amount of weapons and the lightest armor should be. After a concentrated bombardment that disabled its engines, the Imperials could then board the Vod'gam at their leisure, capturing both the ship and those serving aboard it.

Unfortunately for them, the captain of the Vod'gam seemed to have other plans.

Just before the Gundark could hit the enemy ship, it once again seemingly shifted its motion with a maneuver that Tennnor would think normally impossible for a ship of its size, nearly sidestepping the Gundark as it proceeded forward. Still, the Vod'gam couldn't completely avoid the Gundark, as its reinforced ram scrapped the side of the Mandalorian ship, tearing great holes into the hull of the Destroyer as it cut its way through metal and man alike. The Vod'gam responded to this attack with an attack of its own, firing an array of turbolasers and heavy weapons directly into the Gundark, effectively disabling the planetary shield that the ship had been projecting around itself. At least the Gundark still had its standard shielding intact, but it had still lost a powerful component of its defensive arsenal.

"Return fire!", Tennnor called out desperately as the weapon systems aboard the Gundark began firing back at the Vod'gam...or at least tried to, since they were being jammed by electronic counter systems. These attacks, coupled with the Vod'gam's shift in position, place it right on the edge of the Gravity Well, just far enough outside to be out of its influence, and in a few mere moments, the ship was gone, departed into the void of space via a hyperspace jump.

Tennnor slammed her hand into the command console of her ship, having been frustratingly close to capturing an incredibly lucrative prize for the Imperial Remnant. Still, there was no time to rest or reflect on her actions. The Rebel attack was continuing unabated, and Tennnor still had a job to do.

Away from the Gundark, one of the Disruptor-class Ion Cannon Carriers detected a missile launch aimed at it from one of the rebel fighters. Using its NZ Thanatos ECM/A Suite, the ship was able to alter the trajectory of those missiles, causing them to pass by it harmlessly. The Shadow Bombs that came after were far more difficult to avoid, electronic countermeasures being apparently ineffective against them. The Disruptor-class Ion Cannon Carrier activated its AIMS as it tried to dodge the projectiles, one of them narrowly missing it. The other, unfortunately, slammed directly into the ship, knocking out its shields and destroying one of its Gravity Well Projectors. The other Disruptor-class Ion Cannon Carrier activated its second Gravity Well Projector, bringing the total number of Gravity Well Projectors focused on the destroyed section of the shipyards to three. The Gundark would soon add its Gravity Well Projector as well, once it got close enough to the slice of the shipyard to do so.

Still, that wasn't the end of the Rebel attack. Missiles flew toward Disruptor-class Ion Cannon Carriers in massive numbers, though not all of them got through. Some simply missed their targets entirely, while others were diverted by the Disruptors NZ Thanatos ECM/A Suite, while others still were destroyed mid flight thanks to the NZ ARD-1 Mono Type Point Defense System Laser Cannons installed aboard the AX-Wings. A fair bit of the missiles did manage to impact their targets, causing moderate damage, but were unable to shut down the Gravity Well Projectors. The Gundark, the CR125U Corvettes, the D-1300 Star Destroyer and the Disruptor-class Ion Cannon Carriers began to make their way toward the floating section of the ring, firing off their weapons with reckless abandon at any target that dared to get near them, though their focus was on the freighters of Yaeger Sularen Yaeger Sularen , as the V-150 Planet Defenders of the Disruptor-class Ion Cannon Carriers began sniping at them. The one exception was the Vilifier-class Star Destroyer; unable to take the brunt of the rebel attacks, it exploded spectacularly, though its loss was of no concern to Tennnor, since it had been schedule for destruction anyway.

By now, the Imperial Remnant was well aware of what was going on, and a steady stream of reinforcements were now trickling into the battlefield, as 5 squadrons of Y-Fender "Uglies", 5 squadrons of AX-Wings and two Pyre-class Cruisers joined the fray, with additional reinforcements expected to arrive every couple of minutes. The Rebel attack on the shipyards had caused great damage to be sure, but they had now overplayed their hand, with Tennnor and Zonill intending to punish them for their recklessness...

Mon Calamari Shipyards, Northern Region, Hangar 65A

FN-999 froze midstep as the shuttle’s engines were struck and flickered out.

The lightning blast made his hairs stand on end beneath his armor as he turned to face its source. The uniform she wore was different from what it had been two years ago, and she carried herself with a sense of purpose and confidence where before there had only been a desire for vengeance. But there was no mistaking the ferocity in her feline face or her considerable skills in the Force.

“Jonyna Si.” murmured FN-999.

Just as the Cathar woman had begun to charge forward, FN-999 unholstered his pistol, switching its setting to stun and firing off two shots before she could close the distance. He instinctively sidestepped while firing, both to evade Jonyna’s strike and to step out of the way of the squad of stormtroopers inside the shuttle.

With a load groan and the grind of scraping metal, the occupants of the shuttle manually opened its landing ramp before pouring out, half a dozen stormtroopers opening fire on the Cathar directly ahead of them.

In the pilot’s cabin, the two pilots took quick note of the fact that the engines had been knocked out. With no other shuttles in the hangar and the northern region of the shipyard ring likely minutes away from either crashing into Mon Calamari’s atmosphere or being abducted by rebels, they needed to act fast.

ADMIRAL JOANNE SAVATTI
3RD CARRIER STRIKE GROUP “CATO’S HAMMER"

As suddenly as it had appeared, the Mandalorian battleship vanished back into the cosmic void.

Admiral Savatti and practically her entire bridge staff let out sighs of relief, some even bursting into spontaneous cheer at the sight of the vast warship at last being driven back. However, the battle was far from over.

“Turn hard starboard!” ordered the admiral. “All weapons on the rebel frigates. It’s just us and them now."

Cato once more lurched sideways as engine thrust was reallocated to enable the turn, the battlecarrier pivoting in place until its broken wedge faced directly at the center of the rebel fleet. Then, dozens of turbolasers and ion cannons that had been committed to holding back the Mandalorian battleship were aimed and fired into the rebel fleet, unleashing a fresh torrent of plasma.

Unfortunately for
Cato’s crew, the clever tactics of the rebels were about to cut their jubilation short.

Just as Mynock Squadron was about to engage the Y-wing vanguard up close with their mounted cannons, the entire formation of bombers vanished, laser and ion bolts passing harmlessly through the void. Barely a second later, the Y-wings re-emerged directly on top of
Cato, their microjump so close to the battlecarrier’s main bridge that Admiral Savatti could see the individual markings and insignia on each bomber that passed by.

At such close range, the point-defense armament of Cato and its escorts could barely fire a single shot before the Y-wings unloaded their complements directly atop the carrier.

There would be no evading the rebel bombers this time.
Cato’s exhausted shields held up for all of two seconds before collapsing entirely, exposing its hull to the vast majority of the bombardment. The battlecarrier’s thick thaldonium armor held up admirably against the onslaught, but it was far from indestructible. Alarms blared across the bridge as breach after breach emerged in the hangar. The holoprojector in the center of the bridge automatically adjusted to show a transparent model of the Cato, dozens of red holes marking areas where armor and hull had been torn off.

The main command deck itself shook as bombs struck nearby, the overhead lights briefly flickering before power was restored. After what seemed like an eternity, the bombardment ceased, the Y-wings retreating to the safety of the rebel formation.

Amidst the chaos and devastation, Admiral Savatti could only think of one thing to say.

“Damage report?"

XEzDmME.png

FELIX YORWELL

Felix felt the shockwaves of the onslaught against Cato long before the damage became clear.

Seconds later, the commodore was able to see clearly the flames rising from the beleaguered battlecarrier. Clearly, the rebels had hit it hard, yet there was no telling whether or not there were even more strikes of such scale planned. If Felix had learned anything in his most recent decade of naval service, it had been that rebellions and pirate factions alike, for all their savagery, had some of the best starfighter corps in the galaxy. Underestimating them would be nothing short of a death sentence.

Nonetheless,
Triumph of Will remained fairly protected for the moment as long as it remained in Cato’s shadow. If Admiral Savatti needed to transfer her flag, the commodore’s own flagship would be a good option given the circumstances.

[Admiral Savatti.] radioed in Felix through
Triumph’s comms. [Are you well? How is Cato?]

[I am well, the main bridge is intact.] replied Joanne. [I cannot say the same for the secondary bridge. Or a third of the hangar bays. Or for that matter, the Daragon Trail, and Chef Nauri with it.]

[He was one of the finest chefs in the galaxy. Those rebel scum will pay dearly for their actions.]

[Let’s not get derailed here, commodore. I have a plan, and I need your full attention.]

[Okay, I’m listening.]

[The situation on Cato is untenable. I’ve already evacuated the bridge with most of the flag staff, only a skeleton crew is up there now. I am going to transfer my flag to Bellerophon, and I want you to join me. Both Cato and Triumph have fulfilled their purpose. Unless we get major reinforcements fast, the rebels will win this engagement.]

[What will we do about our former flags?]

[Have Triumph jump to hyperspace. Cato will do the same as long as it is able, followed by the escorts. We regroup on Bellerophon and decide there whether or not to use the tracker now or retreat for good. I will take my shuttle down to Triumph and pick you up there. The Six Musketeers will be providing escort. Move now.]

[Understood, Admiral.]

XEzDmME.png

CATO’S STARFIGHTERS

All of
Cato’s starfighter wings abruptly lost contact with the carrier as its secondary bridge went up in flames.
The wings not actively engaged in dogfights or interception assumed emergency protocol, darting back towards their mothership to provide as much cover for its retreat as possible. Only the two TIE Vindicator squads were unaffected, their large-scale maneuvers overseen by the flight deck on Bellerophon rather than that of Cato.

From the carrier’s Hangar S, miraculously intact amidst the wreckage of the upper deck, emerged a single Lambda type shuttle. It almost immediately made a 180 degree turn before veering right and diving beneath
Cato en route to Triumph of Will’s hangar. With the rebel forces concentrating their assault on the carrier, the Lambda was able to approach and enter the Triumph unmolested. There, Commodore Felix Yorwell and his retinue were picked up to join Admiral Savatti and her staff already inside. Now fully loaded, the shuttle took off from Triumph en route to Bellerophon.

Seconds later, Felix’s command cruiser vanished into hyperspace, bruised but far better for the wear than
Cato. The Lambda was soon joined by an escort of TIE Vindicators from the Six Musketeers, their elite starfighters forming a V covering the flanks of the shuttle against interceptors or missile strikes. A wedge appeared in the distance, at first barely large enough to make out amidst the canvas of the stars but within minutes large enough to dominate the shuttle’s viewport. Its heavy laser cannons exchanged fire with frigates far behind the shuttle, its shields rippling as enemy fire slammed against it.

The shuttle landed safely in
Bellerophon’s central hangar, its Vindicator escorts breaking off to defend the command frigate against starfighter attacks. Felix and Joanne both stepped out of the shuttle, heading towards the frigate’s bridge to meet with its captain.

Now the Bellerophon only had one more person to pick up.

In Battlefield:
  • Cato turns to fully face WSR fleet with the withdrawal of the Vod'gam
  • Admiral Joanne Savatti departs and transfers flag functions from Cato to Bellerophon through Triumph of Will
  • Commodore Felix Yorwell departs from Triumph of Will to Bellerophon
  • Triumph of Will flees into hyperspace
  • All of Cato’s starfighter wings revert to escort/interception missions after its flight control bridge is destroyed
  • Cato prepares to jump into hyperspace
  • Both TIE Vindicator squads are recalled to defend the Bellerophon
  • Bellerophon continues to fire heavy laser cannons and missiles at its assailants

Two stun rounds zipped past her as she blitzed forward, suddenly and dramatically shifting direction using her own pyrokinesis to dodge them. It was easy to lose track of which stormtrooper was which, but Jonyna never forgot a soul.

That day on Cathar, she'd never forget.

That face, she'd never forget.

She didn't need to kill him. All she wanted was to do what her ancestors had done long ago. Mark him for death.

As the platoon of troopers opened fire, she never stopped moving forward. With a thought, she activated the personal shield she had been gifted by Azurine Varek Azurine Varek , and raised a hand, Force Pushing the whole lot of troopers, all to do one thing.

With Zoro gone, the commanders fell back on standing orders. Delay, then disengage.

It wasn't the Y-wings that had micro-jumped, but rather the Starlions. And they paid the price for it. The moment they popped out, they had paid the price. Despite the fact that the Cato was now wounded, that didn't stop it's automated defenses, as one of the Starlions was fixated on, and lit up.

As it fell, it's pilot made a bold move. He kicked the engines into overdrive, and aimed it's decent right at the Cato's main bridge. Two more fell, aiming for the Cato's remaining cannons. It was all they could do.

The others? They pushed their hyperdrives to the edge of their capacities.

The Solo Class Frigates did the same. Their turbolasers aimed straight for the Cato, while their shields took the barrage head on. They faltered, and buckled, but didn't break. It was all they could do. Keep up the assault.

Then they disappeared. Fleeing into hyperspace all in different directions. The Astrocats, the bombers, the frigates, the fighters. All gone.

Just as they had arrived, the rebels disappeared into the night. Wounded, some near destruction, but survived.

Another arrived, and Yaeger had his ticket. He shuttered in his seat, as another ion blast hit his ship. With a few switches thrown, he flipped through his pwoer shunting. Right now, all he needed was the basics. Life support, shields, and most importantly...engines.

The two superfreighters slowly shifted their orientation, taking round after round of ion blasts. Had they not shunted most of their power to their ion shields, they would've been goners, but they held firm.

With the gravity field generators active, normally it would prevent a hyperspace jump. Normally. All an gravity field generator did was trick the computers of the hyperdrive that they'd fly right into something big.

That didn't work if those computers were turned off. It was an old trick, and a dangerous one for anyone who didn't know their way around space like professional freighters did. Computations by hand normally took minutes by a computer. By hand, they could take hours.

That was, if you didn't do them beforehand.

Tractor beams kept at full power, as their hyperdrives powered up. Yaeger pulled a small paper off his dashboard, a chicken scratch computation, that he had to hand input into the hyperdrive console. The same was true of the freighter pilots of the superfreighters.

They just needed to get in position.

Mon Calamari Shipyards, Northern Region, Hangar 65A

Jonyna Si was every bit the formidable warrior that FN-999 remembered her to be.

Wielding some sort of portable shield generator, she had first absorbed the fire from his stormtroopers and then knocked them back into the shuttle with impressive force, returning their fight to a one-on-one duel. A far from ideal situation for the general given his age and the natural strength and endurance of the Cathar species, but a situation that would likely not last for more than a few minutes.

FN-999 reminded himself as such as Jonyna lunged towards the general once again, withdrawing what seemed to be a katana to strike at him. He rolled backwards as she slashed at him, the blade soaring well above his body. Once he rose he withdrew a vibroblade sheathed to his side, parrying the next blow so that the two locked blades with each other.

In that moment, it became a contest of strength, their respective blades shaking as they competed for leverage. Despite understanding that Jonyna had superior stamina and would likely prevail if left uninterrupted, FN-999 kept on pushing his body weight into the Cathar’s katana through her own vibroblade, if only to stall for time.

The moment he heard the scream of twin ion engines, the general knew his gamble had paid off.

“I’m afraid today will not be the day you mark me for the hunt.” remarked FN-999.

He disengaged from the duel of blades, letting the force of Jonyna’s strikes push him backwards before turning around and breaking into a sprint, catching a brief glimpse of a single TIE Vindicator hovering right outside the hangar before it locked onto the Cathar and opened fire.

FN-999 did not look back, racing to the other end of the hangar where a single Lambda Scout was rapidly landing, its loading ramp opening before it even touched the ground. He leapt the remaining distance between the shuttle and the hangar floor, landing on his belly before rising to his feet just in time for the ramp to close behind him.

For a moment, the only sound he could hear was the roar of engines as the Lambda took off at full speed, leaving the shipyards and Jonyna behind. Only once his ears adjusted to the noise, the loud roar mellowing out into a gentle hum, did FN-999 allow himself to think.

The Cathar woman had certainly been busy in the year since their first encounter. Their brief duel only minutes earlier confirmed without a doubt what Imperial intelligence had hypothesized for months - Jonyna Si was affiliated with the Wild Space Rebellion. With her as an asset, the radicals now posed a serious threat to any Imperial world caught unaware.

At the same time, Jonyna would be the rebellion’s downfall. The more that FN-999 and his forces fought her, the more they learned about her. For the first time since his battle with Jedi Master Caltin Vanagor, he felt as if he could understand his foe in real time, noting their strengths and exploiting their weaknesses.

As the shuttle rose up into the Bellerophon’s hangar, FN-999 began to plot a new campaign.

MON CALAMARI SHIPYARDS

"All power to engines! Full speed ahead! This is our last chance to stop those rebels once and for all!". Captain Tennnor declared as the entirety of the Mahporeenian Fleet moved in to target Yaeger Sularen Yaeger Sularen 's freighters in a last ditch attempt top stop them from stealing the Mon Calamari shipyards. With most of the rebel capital ships and starfighters having retreated back into the depths of space, the Imperial Remnant and their allied forces were now more or less in control of the immediate area surrounding the shipyards, save for the small section that the rebels were still trying to make off with.

The Gundark fired its final remaining Gravity Well Projector at the section of the ring that the rebels had captured, nearly guaranteeing that any attempts to escape via hyperspace would be ineffective. Five V-150 Planet Defenders were now firing at Sularen's freighters in rapid succession, joined in tandem with hundreds of laser cannons and dozens of missiles, all headed directly toward the few remaining rebel assets still in play.

Starfighters swarmed across the area, looking to mop up any remaining rebel reinforcements. The TIE Vultures in particular made a beeline toward the tractor beam projectors attached to the freighters, with the express idea of crashing into them to either disable them or at the very least thrown them off their target. A few of the missiles fired by Imperial forces were also headed in the same direction, to either destroy the projectors or shift their focus onto the missiles themselves, throwing off the tractor beams aim and forcing Sularen to reacquire the prize he was so desperately seeking.

It was an incredible amount of firepower that the Imperials were throwing at the rebels, and hopefully, it would be enough to stop the rebels with absconding with the shipyards. Regardless, there wasn't a whole lot more than Tennnor and Zonill could do at this point, having done essentially everything in their power to stop the heist from occurring. Regardless of what happened here today, no one could say that the Imperial Remnant hadn't given its all in the defense of its allies and shipyards!

Their brief clash was all Jonyna needed to see to know that Nines would keep at her until she was dead.

Or, until he was dead.

As he disengaged, the heavy laser cannons opened up on her in a strafing run, Jonyna forced to use her katana to defend and deflect. Cannon bolts that would normally shred through a sword like that, were instead parried by them. Her eyes watched as Nines escaped, but she knew he could see her. As the Vindicator attempted to fly off, Jonyna showed one last show of strength, one that she made sure Nines would see full stop.

Throwing her hand back, she grabbed the Vindicator telekinetically...

And ripped it's wings off, sending the craft hurling down into the planet below.

Her eyes locked onto the shuttle as it flew off. A sign that she could destroy her foe right now, if she wanted to.

But right now, she had more pressing matters. That being, her own escape plan. Luckily for her, there were plenty of other imperial ships to steal.

As the two superfreighters turned, they took the brunt of the impact. The first freighter's shields flickered, and yet it's anti-missile octets and heavy point defense cannons kept it's tractor beams protected, as droid fighters swarmed it.

Luckily, the Mi'jeka class was a hearty ship, and despite the repeated slamming of impacts, and ion blasts, the two ships would hold just long enough for it to turn it's engines around, and...

Disappear, along with the Golem, and the section of the ring itself.

Had it taken any longer, the blind jump would've been a death sentence. The ring portion was heavily damaged, and in desperate need of repair, but they could do that on arrival.

And anyone left on board?

They were in for a ride.
