ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Powerful Offensive Armaments | While not possessing the Powerful Autocannons of it's predecessor, the FDS Merthyr's Primary Weapon Emplacements are powered by Power Crystals which enhance the strength of said weapons, making them more effective against enemy shielding systems given their ability to create holes in enemy shielding. It is also equipped with a very deadly array of Quake and Snake Missiles from Angelus Arms and Nakaioma Corp respectively both missiles capable of dealing significant damage to enemy ships
  • Advanced Stealth Systems | Like the FD-400, the FDS Merthyr does not rely on Cloaking Devices but makes use of it's Phkalt Metal Hull which can reflect all light and thus make the ship visibly invisible, making use of a variety of Advanced Stealth Systems and Sensory Countermeasures in addition to it's Visible Cloak to remain undetected both visually and from the sensors of enemy warships. This grants the FDS Merthyr the ability to approach unsuspecting Warships and unleash it's deadly payload of Superheavy Turbolasers and Missiles at their unfortunate victims
  • Turbolaser Resistance | Thanks to it's Phkalt Metal Hull, theFDS Merthyr is capable of surviving direct hits from even the strongest of blaster weaponry such as turbolasers and beam canons, which will only bounce off the hull of the FDS Merthyr when hitting it's target. This grants the FDS Merthyr with an increased survivability rate in battles and the ability to get close enough to larger warships to deal deadly blows even when exposed.
  • State-of-the-Art Defenses | Equipped with a variety of sophisticated Anti-Starfighter and Anti-Capital Ship Defensive Weaponry as well as it's Shield Force Multipliers, Three-layer Shielding system and the Phkalt Metal Hull capable of resisting direct hits from Heavy Energy Weapons, the FDS Merthyr is quite resilient capable of overcoming the odds especially in the face of larger warships such as Star Destroyers which will always give the FDS Merthyr greater chances at slipping away from it's enemies to fight another day in the name of the Final Dawn.
  • SLAM Drive | Thanks to it's SLAM Drive, the FDS Merthyr is capable of rapidly outrunning enemy ships through quick acceleration bursts which can allow the Ship to safely distance itself from enemy warships should it find itself at a major disadvantage if outnumbered and outgunned. This can allow the ship to literally slip away from the grasp of the enemy, denying them from the satisfaction of destroying one of the main flagships of the Final Dawn.
WEAKNESSES
  • General Mobility | The FDS Merthyr suffers from a lack of any considerable speed and maneuverability , a common trait shared by most Triangular Star Destroyers of Imperial Design and as such can easily be outmaneuvered by faster enemy warships especially if it is unable to utilize it's SLAM Drive in time
  • Exposed Rear | Like most Vessels of Imperial design, the FDS Merthyr lacks any considerable rear defenses allowing more Mobile Ships and smaller Starfighters to easily take out the engines once they manage to bypass the shields of the FDS Merthyr which would leave the Pocket Star Destroyer immobile and potentially render it more vulnerable to Kinetic Weaponry from larger Capital Ships
  • Vulnerability to Kinetic Weapons | While it's Phkalt Hull is extremely resistant to Energy Weapons such as Turbolasers and Laser Canons, it is not suited to withstand Kinetic Weaponry such as Hypervelocity Canons and Autocanons which can easily deal catastrophic damage to the FDS Merthyr
  • Shield Force Multipliers | While the FDS Merthyr's Shield Force Multipliers gives it increased protection against concentrated attacks on a single portion of the Ship , the usage of the Shield Force Multipliers weakens the shields of the portion of the Ship not under heavy fire not to mention that the Shield Force Multipliers are useless if the attack is not concentrated in a single area.
  • SLAM Drive | Despite the advantages of the SLAM Drive , utilizing it will cause a large decrease of the FDS Merthyr's Maneuverability and Weapon Power.
DESCRIPTION
With the departure of Kenth Berik from the Final Dawn, Sularen lost a valuable ally in the form of Berik and his Mercenary Company whom had faithfully served the High Regent prior to their departure and carried out a large variety of tasks on his behalf. They were his most loyal and effective allies/subordinates, but unfortunately due to ideological differences, Berik left the Final Dawn and Sularen being an understanding individual accepted his departure even letting him keep the FDS Adjudicator, a modified Turbulent-Class Pocket Star Destroyer given to him by the High Regent of the Final Dawn. With Sularen and Kenth Berik parting ways on good terms, the High Regent set off to search for a replacement for Kenth Berik, following his recommendation of a Chiss Logistics Officer already employeed within the Final Dawn named Himm'vaun'merek also known as Vaun.

As such, Sularen had Vaun transferred to the Politorate's Hand of Judgement to replace Kenth Berik as the Commanding Officer of Battlegroup Aurek, a Naval Battlegroup assembled shortly before Berik's departure which was intended to be placed under his Command but now lacked a commanding officer in the wake of his departure. As such, with Vaun's appointment as a Captain within the Hand of Judgement and the Commanding Officer of Battlegroup Aurek, Sularen resolved to provide his new subordinate with a flagship of his own mirroring Sularen's early gifting of the FDS Adjudicator to Kenth Berik beforehand.

Dubbed, the FDS Merthyr, this modified Turbulent-Class Pocket Star Destroyer would be an improved version of the previous FDS Adjudicator with a stronger hull, more powerful weapons and even advanced stealth and sensory systems which would enable the ship to carry out hit-and-run attacks far behind enemy lines and return safely to Final Dawn Territory. A Marvel of Final Dawn Engineering, is is designed to dwarf the capabilities of it's predecessor now possessing the ability to withstand heavy turbolaser bombardments and execute potentially devastating guerilla operations against enemy forces ensuring that Vaun will maintain the upper hand against any warship that comes across him regardless of the odds.

You made an advanced flagship from a base design built to be frugal? Fair enough, actually - it's likely far easier than building a unique chassis.

You are missing your image source, however. Fix that and I'll approve this.
