- Extremely tough, durable and magnetic material that has the following properties:
- It is strong as Phrik, possibly even more resistant to energy based weaponry and lightsabers, at the cost of being so extremely heavy that a regular suit of armor can weight eight hundred pounds. It is not recommended for personal projects, armor, hand held weapons, ect that deals with ground based.
- It has a magnetic quality that, when magnetically activated, creates a shimmering effect close to the material of Nykkalt to where it reflects all light to create a near invisible object but not to sensors.
- Is rather flexible for such a material, even when fully refined making it useable for unique designs for starships at the cost of being less kinetically resistant.
- It has a very bad habit of Corrosion, meaning that if exposed to acidic properties for to long, it will degrade quickly and lose effectivness.
- It Survives Turbolasers and Beam Cannons!: It is strong enough to reflect off of some of the strongest blaster weaponry, making it very difficult to destroy.
- Shimmer and Hide: Magnetically activating the metal will cause it to give a shimmer effect, making it very hard to see and reflecting all light.
- I Can't Wear This, Can I?: This metal is extremely heavy, making it extremely improbable to use in anything less than starships.
- It Rusts: In addition, it also makes it very difficult to maintain if used in regular personal power armor as acidic environments will reduce this to rust in a few days, requiring constant maintenance.
The metal known as Phkalt discovered was named after the materials of Phrik and Nykkalt, having been discovered in a new star system in the Unknown Regions in an area that has a dual nebula. It was discovered by the expeditionary team of Haon Hafey whom spent several years testing the material before deciding to make it a privately purchased material. Holding a small ball of this material would feel like a twenty pound weight in someones hand, making it extremely heavy though using a disruptor, lightsaber or anything with energy based simply bounces off the object or produces very little damage to the material. The main issue with the material is the rusting properties, making rain and other acidic atmospheres eat the metal up in a matter of moments. It is recommended for starships for hull use and nothing much else though is considerably a very durable material, bending though.
