HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The composition of the Surric Local Defense Force's military unit structure goes back to the days of its founding. Created from the ground up to be a Hobbesian Leviathan force that systematically pins, attacks and overwhelms the enemy with attacks from all different directions on the battlespace. There is a Battalion for every kind of mission, a Regiment that can fight and win on any kind of world, and everything from combat drops from cruisers of entire Airborne Infantry Regiments, with local capital ships providing close orbital fire support, or heavy ground assaults from Armor Divisions as they roll their metal treads across the land. This military fighting force is designed to not only fight well alone, but be absolutely terrifyingly effective when working in sync with other units especially in the same Divisions. This makes these combat groups very effective at hitting the ground in any invasion, with enough forces that have the proper supply and manpower to not only attack enemy positions, but take and hold them once they have.

The core values of this military structure is that while each unit alone is quite deadly and specialized, when they come together to form a cohesive fighting force, they are on a whole new level of effectiveness. Take the Airborne Infantry for example. Standard dismounted infantry with access to jetpacks for increased maneuverability across difficult terrain and to make their aerial insertions. These men and women carry standard infantry weapons of the SLDF, including heavy weapons such as the FI-LWMMG, or the MAAWS Mod-2, which while quite effective, don't really have the same punch as heavy tanks. But when paired with their Close Air Support and their Joint Tactical Controllers, they become an absolute nightmare for any defender as they can call down orbital strikes and aerial bombardments on most any positions at will. The same is true for the Tank Destroyer Regiments, as they are wonderfully awesome weapons in their own right, being able to slap down enemy tanks and walkers like a vengeful god, but they can't go on the offensive very well with their light armor. This is why they are paired with Mechanized Infantry, Heavy Tanks, and Walkers of their own, to become a massive overland force able to assault and overwhelm enemy positions and deal with possible counter thrusts from the enemy's own armor. The essence of combined arms tactics and strategies to fix an enemy and systematically destroy them has been proven time and again the most effective way for armies to conduct war.

Combine this with an absolutely stellar commissioned and non-commissioned officer corps to lead these troops into battle and ensure that each individual soldier is if not a master of their specific job, at least more than proficient, and you have one of the most effective conventional armies in the galaxy. Commissioned officers draw up elaborate and terrifying battle plans to utterly wipe out enemy formations, and Non-Comms lead the way with their examples of bravery, professionalism and dedication inspiring all who serve under them. This just goes to show that this military is the premier organic fighting force available to the galaxy.

Evening, The Monster The Monster ! I'll be reviewing your sub for ya. However, because I'm a trainee, this will require a second approval before it's added to that lovely Lore Approved pile.

Afternoon, I hope you're having a wonderful day! I've loved reading through this sub, the detail in the composition is astounding. I also really like that you've explained the units strengths and weaknesses in the History, it makes for a balanced sub as far as I can see. I just have one small thing I'll need you to fix before I pass this to the powers that be:

  • Image Credit: The link you've provided leads to a larger version of the symbol, not the source itself. I've added the link to the wiki source page here.
Other than that, this is a great sub!

This submission is very well thought out. I can see that you put a lot of effort into it. I will remind you of one thing:

Lore Creation Rules said:
Fleet and Army submissions are for fluff and flavor. They are not a hard-line numbers game, but a place to collect and organize. Size is a relative field, not an indicator of who would win in a head to head confrontation. Be sensible and reasonable or edits will be required.

The numbers listed are not so astronomical that I feel they should be reduced, however, when utilizing this submission I would suggest that you use it wisely. It could easily be reported if used without discretion, in which case, we would need to take a closer look.

All that being said; Enjoy!
