PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Main Battle Tank (tracked)
  • Role: Main Battle Tank
  • Size: Large
  • Weight: Extremely Heavy
  • Armaments: Extreme - Main weapon is the 140mm H-2 cannon with APFSDS, HE-MP, Flechette, and White Phosphorus rounds. Round count is 55 shells. Secondary weapons is are a 6.5mm GPMG coaxial mounted, and for the commander you can mount a remote weapon station based heavy weapons such as the M-2, M-19, heavy repeating blasters, or E-Webs.
  • Defenses: Extreme - Crewless turret with auto-loading system enables crew compartment and reactor to be protected by several meters of composite armor plating.
  • Maneuverability Rating: High - Drive train powered by the reactor offers exceptional power to weight ratios making the tank very responsive
  • Speed Rating: Low - It's a tank, it's not the slowest way to move around but it still is comparatively slow
  • Propulsion: Tracks and drive system powered by an Isotope-5A Microreactor
  • Minimum Crew: 2, Driver and Gunner
  • Optimal Crew: 5, Driver, Gunner, Vehicle Commander, Loader, and Comms trooper
  • Passenger Capacity: None
  • Cargo Capacity: None - Aside from ammunition and crew's basic combat/gear loads there isn't room for anything inside
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Crewless turret and remote vehicle stations ensures that this tank offers a premium for crew protection and survive-ability. Armor around the tank is in places over 1 meter thick of a composite spaced armor featuring Phrik-A plates with Synthetic Yorik Coral and Ionite-A shielding of all electronic and major systems. Crew compartment also has several emergency escape hatches with manual releases to ensure that even if the electronics fail the crew can still bail out if required.
  • Tracks are made to cover all types of terrain with ease, including mud and swamps with a variable height management system that allows the driver to adjust the height of the tank to give it more all terrain power or more stability by raising and lowering the tracks on the tank.
  • Auto-loader is able to pull different rounds from ammunition bay and even extract rounds from the chamber to re-chamber a round in case the gunner decides to switch targets/target types. Also has the ability to program the HE-MP rounds to either perform as HEAT warheads or as HEDP warheads.
  • Turret incorporates a fire control system that when set can either utilize a laser rangefinder and computer system to lase, track, form a shooting solution and automatically lead the target based on current velocity and allow the gunner to fire in seconds, or, can set to a manual aiming system where the main cannon reverts to a preset zero allowing the gunner to Tattooine Windage and Corellian Elevation with targets.
  • Targeting system is also stabilized both horizontally and vertically allowing the tank to move at high speeds across open or rough terrain and get shots on target with acceptable accuracy.
  • Spaced armor is designed to defeat most if not all threats including force users with the incorporation of Synthetic Yorik Coral into the internal plating of the armor. This makes even force attacks against the vehicle highly unwise as the tank can not only shrug it off, but also can't really be manipulated by the telekinetic powers of most force users.
  • Commander has a separate viewing camera that he can use to give a second set of eyes scouting around the tank from his station and can even use this to slew the main gun onto a target he has spotted with a quick two-button press. This makes the tank able to see around itself much better and as the old saying goes, two sets of eyes are better than one.
STRENGTHS
  • It's a main battle tank - This tank is a main battle tank. It's not a scout, it's not light, it's most definitely not something to laugh at. In any ground fighting this thing is the hammer. It hits like a Corellian YT-series freight filled with neuranium, shrugs off most of whatever you can throw at it, and keeps coming. With a 140mm main cannon and extremely thick, layered and spaced armor, this thing can definitely flip the initiative into whomever has it on their side's favor. Without some extreme anti-vehicle defenses, which might not even be enough with enough of these things on the field, you aren't stopping them.
  • Armored Cavalry - The drive system on this tank and the lack of requirement for fuel makes this tank perform exceptionally well in cavalry fighting units, especially as an armored cavalry vehicle. And sure it might be slower than most vehicles in this area of fighting, but when it comes to tanks they have a very specific purpose in this case. Destroy whatever is in front of them, which these tanks can do with ease. Add into this the height management system that gives the tracks ability to handle virtually any terrain, and no repulsorlifts needed, and you can deploy this tank anytime, anywhere.
WEAKNESSES
  • It's a tank - This thing is not light. At all. And while it can cross most terrains with ease, you'll have to be careful when choosing bridges and other artificially made structures for crossing/traversing. Because it's a tank, not a car.
  • No dismounts or cargo - This is again a tank, not a fighting vehicle, or cargo truck. There is literally no room inside outside of anything necessary for operation and that is because it is designed to fill the role of a main battle tank. If you want a ride go find a truck, or an infantry fighting vehicle. That being said you can ride on top if you want, but do so at your own risk, because that turret moves quick and I'd hate to be on the receiving end of a 140mm cannon smacking you mid-turret traverse.
DESCRIPTION
The M3 Main Battle Tank. The first of its line in a massive production scale tank meant for frontline use as the very basis of armored cavalry, the M3 has a very particular role. While its faster than most heavy walkers with similar weapons capabilities, better armored, and more stable platform making it a premium design for Confederacy ground forces. Using tracks as its basis for locomotion makes it immune to repulsorlift jammers and faster than most walkers with similar weight classes and fighting abilities. The armor and crew survivability is also at a premium on this tank, using a composite armor system that gives it the ability to shrug off multiple hits from a variety of weapons, including disrupters, to make this tank the scariest thing you'll ever see on the battlefield without another tank to back you up. And while most of its armor is on the horizontal plane to combat other fighting vehicles, tanks, and walkers, the armor up top is no joke either, you won't destroy this thing with small arms or smaller anti-tank weapons. The layered and spaced design of the composite armor makes it extremely effective against a variety both vehicle and infantry based systems, making it a necessity for combatants that are trying to kill this to bring very specialized, very heavy equipment. And then there's the gun. The 140mm cannon is utterly terrifying. The energy output on this weapon alone makes the kinetic and chemical based rounds a breeze to aim at enemy targets, let alone the kill power behind each of these rounds. And then there's its versatility that comes with having multiple round types that can be shot with the gun. To say this weapon system is overkill is an understatement, and against any enemy armored vehicles their crews better pray for whatever luck they can scrounge up. Because when you add up this thing's mobility, it's firepower, it's armor, and it's lower profile than most tanks, one thing is certain.

They'll need it.
