Dominion Silky Smooth | Agents of Chaos Dominion of the Empty Hex North of The Deep

FrcIoW.png

The successes brought on to and by the Agents of Chaos were no longer something small and local. By now, it was more or less intergalactic news that several planets had been liberated by their hands, which naturally, was a great cause of joy.

As merry partying and drinking around the Scintilla progressed, responsible individuals looked to the dark space skies around them, and knew that what they had done, was only the beginning. In their success, the Agents of Chaos had also painted a big pink target on their own backs, daring the rest of the galaxy to come and try to take them out before they decided to do it first.

And so, more responsible heads had begun to draw plans. While the Agents maintained their vows and ideologies not to take planets over, there was more than enough space around the Scintilla for them to expand their defenses into. And this was exactly what they would be doing; expanding their defenses in case of incoming attacks.

As the Armada ordered, built, and planned, alongside the scientists of the Scintilla, a small and mobile space station had been moved to the North of the Deep. The goal of the station was to see how far the Agents wished to extend their defenses to. In the meantime, the mobile station also offered a few… Perks, for those who wanted to come along for the ride. Except for a small number of people, presence was not mandatory, but everyone was invited.

FrSdQz.png
The team of responsible individuals who joined this mission are here to explore the area North of the Deep, to make sure there is nothing there that they want to keep their distance from, and to send coordinates back to the Armada and the scientists so they know how to plan the expanse of the defenses.

FrSyVc.png
Everyone else on the station can do anything they like. Sit at the little bistro cafe to eat and chat, walk around senselessly and do nothing, peer out through the windows and note how pretty space is, or decide on some mischief of your own making. The most important thing is, have fun!

Alwine stood in the bridge of the Happy Tree Friends, the mobile space station that for some reason beyond her had been chosen for this mission, to explore the area north of the Scintilla to see how far forward they wished to spread the Agents of Chaos' defenses.

The drugs that coursed through her body were enough to make her forget - forget the pain, forget that she wasn't even meant to be here because she needed to be resting and recovering. Her running and spending of energy on Rodia had taken a huge toll from her, and after being extracted, she had to be knocked out for a day because the pain in her body made her scream and lose control. Had it not been for the shiftglue, she would've been stuck eternally going between human and wolf until she'd worn herself out.

And still, the drugs had their toll. Sometimes, Alwine caught her left hand shaking ever so slightly. But she could not think about that, not right now. Rodia and Talay had gone dark on the Confederacy as well, which meant that the Agents of Chaos had to be ready. If they came all the way to this part of the Unknown Regions… It wouldn't matter which side they would attack from. All sides had to be protected.

Sighing, Alwine sat and looked through the front shields. As far as the eye could see, it was mostly just empty space. She could see planets and starts far away, but… But not here. Not in the immediate surroundings, anyway.

"How far can we go and expect to decently be able to defend without stretching our resources thin?" she asked, no one in particular.

For the first time in his own memory, the Priest of Discordia found himself stationary, more scientist than zealot. The Epicanthix wasn’t exactly used to not having anything to do except twiddle his thumbs. He was always moving, always thinking. Whether that meant fighting, training, praying, creating, devising plans, contacting members of the Silencers or priestesses of the Eight Arrows Sect, the priest was always doing something.

Today, he was a representative of the Garden of Death. He could not call himself a true agent of it, as he only oversaw some of the projects and experiments that occurred in the laboratories. But, Discordia trusted him to see to this endeavor and secure their place within the Galaxy. There was no refuting Her decision when it’d been made. Ultimately, protecting the Scintilla was the primary goal of this mission. They could not afford any losses like those they saw H.O.P.E. was bombed, those they witnessed suspended, lifeless, in the vacuum as they returned home.

"How far can we go and expect to decently be able to defend without stretching our resources thin?"

A voice cut through the silence as he gazed out at endless stars from a source he could not readily identify, watching the cosmos and wondering what would untold before them on their journey. There was a brief moment of consideration from the Sith Alchemist, a longer pause before an answer left his lips. “At most, two systems out from our current holdings with the forces we currently have. A third system would be a stretch in any direction. We’ll be prepared to leave shortly and, with any hope, the fighters are prepared to scramble and head out to scout and report back to the bridge.

Hopefully, they won’t find trouble out there.

Sapphire rolled off the tongue much easier than Aurora.

Apart from that small change in the squadron’s name, the briefing had been rather uneventful. This was another patrol operation, but this time the squadron was being sent ahead of the fleet to scout the space North of the Deep. Given the brilliance of the Scintilla, it was easy to forget that this was in fact, unexplored territory within the very edge of the galaxy. Nevertheless, Bella had lived her entire short life within the Outer Reaches, having only ventured out towards the core for military operations with the Armada. There was more in the galaxy outside of the Scintilla, including vast ecumenopolises which were not dissimilar to the Scintilla, pristine green worlds full of untouched wilderness, desolate single-biome worlds, and yet more. One day, Bella hoped to visit them for herself. Ryloth, back when it was still free, had been the first planet she had ever stepped foot on. The homeworld of the Twi’leks, who quite strangely appeared similar to her own species, was beautiful in spite of the devastation which had occurred during the liberation of the planet. However, one day, she hoped to visit Shili, if only to see the homeworld of her species with her own eyes.

Entering the hangar bay, Bella nodded to the technicians as they prepared her interceptor for launch. Unfortunately, she hadn’t heard anything from the Togruta technician she had spoken to during her brief assignment on the flagship of the Ravager Fleet. However, perhaps for fear of finding out the truth regarding fate, she also hadn’t bothered to look. Even so, she gave the two technicians a soft smile, both of whom were stunningly beautiful. Like her, it was possible that they were variance clones like herself, created to bolster the numbers of the Armada and the Wild Hunt after the losses suffered during the recent operations in Confederate space.

In truth, they were the closest thing she had to family.

She was still close with her batch-brothers and sisters, even though many of them had chosen careers within the Armada, typically as enlisted ratings serving on one of the many massive starships, stations, and military spheres fielded by the fleet. Before signing up for the accelerated starfighter pilot training program, Bella had considered training as a hyperdrive technician rating. However, it hadn’t taken her long to find out that fixing things was not her calling.

Fortunately, she didn’t have to know much about how a fighter actually worked in order to fly it.

After scaling the ladder, Bella slid into the cockpit of her designated TIE Whisper. The fighter was a modern update on an ancient design, and having flown it while teaching a civilian at the Scintilla, she was eager to push the craft to its limits without having to worry about a passenger. One of the technicians handed her her modified helmet, before giving her a thumbs-up and slamming the hatch shut.

With a few buttons, handles, and switches pushed, the twin ion engines roared to life with a powerful, pulsating vibration. She could already tell that the Whisper was more significantly more powerful than the Ballerina, but it was also somewhat heavier, even though TIEs were reputedly small craft. Nevertheless, she was eager to find out whether that power would translate to speed. And so, when her light flashed green, Bella gunned the engines and accelerated the craft into the void with an unexpected rush of adrenaline that she hadn’t felt in a long time.

“Sapphire Seven, launching!”

Jai sat in the hanger, patting the custom painted nose of a Phase I "Pink X." What he had gone for was a strill mouth motif, and the design seemed to go off well. He stepped back to look at his work, praying to the Manda that Bella wouldn't yell at him for taking away some of the more united squadron paint. He was happy though. He then tapped the comms on his helmet, looking over to the hanger exit as he climbed up to the cockpit.

"Ok, so we're here to expand our defense, remind me why they needed fighters here already?" He climbed in, switching so systems on before hearing a whistle behind him. "I'm just joking EiKay. You've gotta lighten up." The droid grumbled as Jai lifted the fighter. He still didn't feel ready to return to his people, he had to do... something. He just didn't know what. He shook his head before slipping out of the hanger, calling out.

"Sapphire eight, ready to go." The Mando would drop into formation with Bella, flipping on his comm channel to talk to her. "So, think this is overkill, or is there really someone or something that scary out there?"

Sal hadn’t been to the briefing, he had no excuse, he just didn’t particularly feel like going but he did have the briefing summary in his hand as he walked to the hangar bay and scrolled through it.

“Sapphire Squadron,” he mumbled and shrugged, the higher ups were never happy. One gets a bright idea and then suddenly its regulation. Seemed like a kick in the balls after Talay and the losses they’d suffered. You wiped away a squadron's name, you wiped away its history, its sacrifices. Or maybe that was the point, maybe those at the top wanted a fresh coat of paint on the same old product. "And they changed my designation." a huh, followed that. He didn't recognize the seat warmer that had been assigned Eight.

He entered the hangar, climbed into his Ballerina and ran through the usual rigmarole before gunning it for space. “Sapphire Two, heading out.”

"Is there a word for forgetting the name of someone when you want to introduce them to someone else at the same time you realize you've forgotten the name of the person you're introducing them to as well?" Bundori said it looking at some of the people who were there with them. She had some food and the waitress who was bringing it just looked at her. "Ahh I don't think there is a word for it." She frowned... "Are you sure?" She said it with a look on her face when she was checking it out and then. "Oh look a shiny." She said it and was running off leaving some credits for them while she was skipping away from the people.

The Interceptor beside where Sal had been was holding a new person, currently being run through the briefing of how to operate the vessel. Had been mostly through everything that could be talked about without being able to show the woman first hand. There had not been enough time to run her through simulations, so here she found herself strapped into the cockpit of a ballerina. Watching someone point to things in the cockpit as she tried to remember them all.

"Your call sign is Sapphire Four. It look like they are ready to go." The instructor nodded to another ballerina taking off.

Domino's hands hurt. Bacta and the Force were wonderful things but some things just needed time. At least she didn't still need bandages, that had been a less than thrilling week where her hands had been near useless. At least now she was doing something she loved, even the constant pain couldn't take that away. She'd just finished another tour of the vessel, checking that nothing further had popped up during the final shake-down flight, and had returned to the bridge to sink into the form-chair set aside for her. The squadron were all in stealth, holding a few light seconds out from the station in several different directions. Later they might be 'hunted' as a test depending on how things went for the others. Domino also wanted to take the opportunity to deploy a sensor net across the system.

The spray can laid sideways on the floor. The fresh new paint was still dripping off of his X-Wing. It's not that he disliked pink, it was just that black and white looked soooo much better. Small puddles had started to collect on the floor where the edges of the fighter were. He stood back, arms folded, gazing upon his masterpiece. Hopefully it dried before they had to go out on their run.

While still gazing upon the beautiful paint job he noticed some techies working on his engine. They were taking out some parts and putting some in. Walking over there he looked at what they were doing. Gosh darn it, how many times did he have to tell them!

"What did I tell you guys! The stabilizer goes in upside down, not right side up."

One of the techies began to rug his head. They have had this conversation before. About twenty times before.

"Len buddy, listen, it says right here in the manual that..."

"Manual-shmanual! I know what I'm talking about!"

Grabbing the book off of the repair cart he slid it across the floor. He watched as it slid all the way to the far wall, a good thirty feet away. Doing a little exclamation to himself about how far the book went, he grabbed the stabilizer right out of the techie's hands. Putting it in upside down, as it should be, he tightened it up.

"Sapphire Squadron, prepare to launch."

Looking up toward the loudspeaker where the announcement came from, he realized he wasn't even ready.

"Nerf! Hey you techies, get the ship warmed up for me!"

Tipping his hat to them he ran over to where his suit layed, quickly throwing it on over his own clothes. He watched as the rest of the squadron left. Once the suit was on he ran over to the fridge and pulled out a cold beverage. Grabbing his helmet he hurried over to his ship. Climbing up the ladder he plopped down into he seat, strapping in. Cracking open the drink while trying the controls on he saw the ships pulling away. Setting the drink down he tightened his helmet.

"Sapphire Six, you are cleared for launched."

"Here we go! Yahoo!"

Punching the throttle a little too fast he speeded out of the hangar. He raced up to where the other ships flew. Reaching them after around a minute he opened up his comms.

"Sorry I'm late guys, techies were messing with my ship. Putting in the stabilizers right-side up again. Hey, wanna see a cool trick?"

Not waiting for an answer Len pitched the ship into A fast barrel roll, spinning multiple times. After about five rolls he stopped, rightening the ship.

"Woohoo! Never gets old. Anyways, what's the plan today?"

For the first time in forever, Bella found herself reveling within the sensation of speed.

It was the same feeling she had experienced her first time in a fighter, during the accelerated starfighter pilot training program she had undergone at the fleet academy. In essence, a thrilling rediscovery of her passion for flying, which had been somewhat sapped since the annihilation of H.O.P.E. Over the last few weeks, she had been flying out of a sense of duty, a grim responsibility that she held to protect the people of the Scintilla, and by extension, her home. Now, she flew for passion, for pride, and for herself. She flew for the simple sensation of delight, which left her feeling invigorated and energized, making her want to let loose a torrent of joyful cries as she gunned the engines ever faster.

Within her periphery, she saw the strill mouth motif which had been painted on Sapphire Eight’s X-Wing.

“That is beautiful!” Bella said to Jai’galaar as she glanced over the design. “I might have to ask you to paint my wings at some point, Sapphire Eight.” She continued with a soft giggle. “This TIE could use some flair to go with its speed.”

“As far as I know, we’re just scouting." Bella continued, answering both Jai'galaar's and Len's questions in the process. "It’s not likely that we’ll run into trouble, but if we do, we’ll have each other's backs like always. Stay close to your wing mates, keep an eye on your sensors, and we'll be alright.”

With that, Bella began to plot the coordinates for the first hyperspace jump. It would keep the squadron well within the system, but would also allow them to more quickly map around the various planets and celestial bodies in the area.

“Alright Sapphires, prepare for the first jump.” Bella said as she tapped the final button and transmitted the coordinates to the rest of the squadron. Then, upon pushing the control lever forward, her TIE flashed into hyperspace. Not a minute later, she reverted back into realspace along with the rest of the squadron.

Almost immediately, her magno-sweepers exploded with readings as she took in the sight in front of her with her own eyes. Less than a hundred klicks ahead, was a dense asteroid field, which was strewn about with a seemingly innumerable quantity of dead space hulks, which upon further glance, appeared to have once been First-Imperial ships...

FrSdQz.png

Jai looked from his cockpit at the Bella's TIE, chuckling a little bit when she said she might ask about him painting her wings. "Eh, I don't see why not. End up better than the dripping mess I saw in the hange.... Oh my word it was Len's!" Jai tipped his wing to get a better look as Len started a barrel roll. Jai pulled away, being careful to avoid the others. He heard EiKay letting out frantic Binary, berating the pilot the other pilot. The Mandalorian beast master quickly muted his droid, before it fried a circuit. Jai looked over, shaking his head.

"What are you trying to do, Sapphire One, make a spoke screen with paint and parts? I can see it streaking from here." Jai looked back, seeing the others as he slipped back into formation. Listening to the mission that was ahead. Scouting. Ok, something easy for a change. It was his real mission since Ryloth. It'd be a nice change of pace from heavy combat. Jai unmuted EiKay, looking back at the droid. "Alright buddy, lets jump."

As the fighter left hyperspace, it's pilot quickly opened the s-foils, looking around as he did a quick wing tip to test the controls. He then looked out at the debris. "Osik," was all he could say as he tried to focus in his scanners. He shuttered in the cockpit, not liking what he was seeing. "I've got bad feeling about this."

There was a quick back and forth between Sasmay and the tech about jump coordinates as the cockpit began to close, catching enough to punch in the coordinates as the hatch seemed to close. Her lane lit up, engines coming to life as she slowly sortied out of the hangar and moved to join the rest of the formation before coming in on the wrong side and jumping with the group. She was severely out of her element as she watched the screen tick down before coming out of the jump late and ending up surpemely close to the worrisome collection of ships.

"This is....sapphire four. Where are you all at?" She clicked the comms and peered around the cockpit. There was a creeping icy formation forming on the bottom of the cockpit. Seemed strange but she hadn't done this before and didn't know what to excpect.

Although she had been away from the Scintilla for a few days since the beginning of the scouting operation, Ivixa still kept up her daily routine, although she did most of it in close proximity with a few girlfriends who were also enlisted members of the Wild Hunt or the Armada. For physical training, her girlfriends had decided to make it a cardio day. And so, after an hour of lifting, Ivixa followed them down to the gym, only to see that they were intending to play a game that didn’t exactly mesh well with her physique.

The station’s basketball gym was very active that afternoon, with a couple pickup games running simultaneously. However, there were still a few open courts left for anyone to use. It went without saying that Ivixa was hesitant, but her girlfriends responded with a few smiles and told her that she would have fun regardless.

It didn’t take long for her group to organize a pickup game among themselves, with the team Ivixa was on taking an extra member to compensate for her insignificant stature. From there, it went exactly as expected. She found herself aimlessly sprinting up and down the court, only to airball her shot because even a women's-sized basketball was too big for her hands or have it blocked by someone with two feet on her. After a few minutes, Ivixa subbed out and decided to give it a rest. She had given it her best, but the game, while outwardly fun and exciting, simply didn’t agree with her unless she could play with people close to her own size.

For the moment, that left her with little to do but sit on the bench and wait on her girlfriends to finish their game. Of course, she could leave and return to the weight room before catching a shower. But, she didn’t want to leave her girlfriends just yet, especially since they were planning on hitting the station’s nightclub later that night. In the meantime, she decided to watch a few of the other pickup games that were running, until she noticed a familiar swordsman (Conn Dagorian) playing in one, which she took notice of after hearing him unleash a thunderous dunk over another player...

He was studying the revelry.

It was a smaller establishment on the station. Just a simple restaurant serving food for anyone interested. It had seemed to be as good a location for his experiment as any. They were responding to the milkshakes and burgers about as expected. Hungry for more, ordering again and again. It never seemed to be filling their need.

That was by design, of course.

Life had taken a... turn, so to speak.

There was a need for funds for his research. Ask mother? Possible, but Samson would prefer not to worry her too much at this stage. Samson was certain he could find the proper agent. All that he needed was enough money to do so. Besides, she had her true children to worry about. She had missed them dearly. This Samson knew. It would be cruel to drag her attention away from it just for his own problems.

So, no. Instead? He had created a chemical agent and then, before opening time, covertly inserted it into the ingredients of the burger place.

Hypothesis?

It would not fill their stomach, but it would fill them with craving for more. Wouldn't that be an excellent thing to sell to any number of industrial food processors?

The chair creaked under his weight as Samson shifted slightly, scratching his chin. It was certainly not ethical. But ethics were of little assistance to his problem.

"Sorry Jai'galaar, just having a little fun!"

He heard some groans on the other side of the comms, but he didn't care. Whenever he could fit in a quick barrel roll, he did. After the call was giving to jump to hyperspace, he pushed the button as the ship lurched forward. While in hyperspace he took a swig of his beverage. Hopefully he would get too drunk while flying. One time he did and it ended...well, that is a story for another time.

Once they entered back into hyperspace his sensors went crazy. Looking down he saw the device reading multiple objects up ahead. Since the noise didn't stop, he decided he would make it stop himself.

"Alright, alright! Shut up! Stupid thang!"

After a few well-place slams of his fist the device finally shut up. Now looking up, he could see what the sensor was saying. Multiple First-Order ships layed ahead, all appearing to be abandoned. The comms were dead silent. Trying to lighten the mood, he decided to make a joke. Hopefully they took it well.

"Well that is where I parked those! I have been looking for all over for them!"

Bella blinked as she took in the fresh sensor readings, in addition to the graveyard of First-Imperial starships strewn about the asteroid field directly in front of her. Even though she was not the commander of Sapphire squadron, she had ended up taking a kind of informal leadership role for the operation due to absence of the commander. In addition, she wasn’t the most experienced pilot in the group by any means, having only a few sorties under her belt. Regardless, she was still technically an ace, in spite of the fact that most of her kills had been on droid craft. Unfortunately, now with the weight of responsibility on her shoulders, she could no longer fly just for herself. She had to focus on analyzing the situation, then making a decision based on the available information, her own intuition, and the objectives of the mission, whichever one came first.

For the time being, she saw no reason to divert from the objective.

“Transmitting our coordinates to you, Sapphire Four.” Bella said as she tapped a few commands on the holographic display. “We’ll hold position until you arrive.” She added.

“Everyone else, in the meantime, group up with your wingman and prepare to enter the asteroid field. Based on the readings that I’m receiving, there doesn’t seem to be any danger. Keep an eye on your sensors and...please...try to stay sober.” The diminutive Togruta finished with an exasperated sigh.

Unfortunately, between the fact that more than half of the group had failed to show up to the briefing and the obvious intoxication of one of the squadron's pilots, she could already tell that this was going to necessitate a long post-mission report.

As one of the newest of the Wild Hunt, Conn made an effort to volunteer for anything that came up. He was learning the ins and outs of the unit, how to navigate Scintilla and the ways and means of the Agents of Chaos. So, when there was a call for volunteers to man the mobile station scouting out beyond Deep, Conn was one of the first to raise his hand.

But, in truth, his role was little more than garrison duty. After the unexpected Vagaari raids, there were no chance's taken when it came to defense. So he and many of the Wild Hunt accompanied the station on its mission.

Regular training and exercise were the routines for most days. But the station provided a few more entertaining means to keep in shape, including the gaming courts. He had been invited by a few of his fellow Hunters to a game of basketball. Fortunately, Conn had played the game since his youth.

He was having a good day, Conn would admit. Not all those playing were as familiar with the game, so he had a bit of an advantage. The former Jensaari, of course, did not employ the Force to give him an edge, that was poor sportsmanship. Still, he was doing quite well, and managed to slam dunk the ball to score the winning basket for his team.

His team mates flung high fives Conn's way, and he grinned and met each hand. He had noted during his game that there were some womentat the court next to his. Several females from the Wild Hunt were among them, the most notable was the fiesty sniper Ivixa. Conn became familiar with the colorful gunslinger as they teamed up to help repel the Vagaari. While he caught glimpses of the smaller woman racing among her taller teammates, Conn hadn't had time to watch their game closely.

Walking to the benches, Conn picked up a towel and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Again his eyes caught his comrade, but she was sitting on the bench while her friends continued to play. Waving off his teammates as they walked to the showers, Conn approached the blue-skinned warrior.

"Heya Ivixa, decided not to play?" He asked, wiping the back of his neck as he took a seat next to the small, curvy Asa'nyx.

For all of her patience and discipline, Ivixa couldn’t restrain herself from staring at the swordsman as he took a towel to his forehead, rubbing off the sweat from a hard workout. While she had never gotten the chance to take in his features during the assault at the farmhouse, she recognized him nonetheless. Up close, without his armor or helmet on, he looked even cuter and perhaps, more dangerous than he had before. His rough, yet handsome features seemed to have their own characteristic, marred with scars that hinted at a life of violence in some capacity. In seeing him carve a bloody path through a number of Vagaari raiders at the farmhouse, his experience and skill as a fighter was glaringly obvious. His scars only added to that, but also spoke of a warrior of great resilience. Perhaps he had lost to a number of opponents before, but he had nevertheless managed to survive and if his skill with a blade was any indication, learn from the experience. Caught in her leering, it was only when he waved off his teammates and turned towards her direction did she realize that he had seen her. Given her cyan skin and diminutive stature, she wasn’t particularly easy to miss, especially outside of the Asa’nyx districts. Regardless, Ivixa quickly turned away, feigning unawareness until he was standing only a couple feet away from her.

When he spoke, she looked up and found herself entranced by his handsome visage all over again. The way his blonde hair hung loose over his green eyes lent his appearance a dark aspect, as if he were a mysterious warrior of the Force, not that he actually was one...

Or was he?

Regardless, Ivixa had no reliable way of deciphering that knowledge for the time being. She let the thought fall to the wayside as she wracked her mind for a response to his question. In truth, Ivixa didn’t know what he would think of her if she told him that she had quit doing something just because she wasn’t good at it, even if it was something as relatively inconsequential as basketball. She didn’t want him to think less of her for it, but by the same token, it was also likely that he would understand or just simply wouldn’t care.

After all, she was only three feet tall.

“Conn? You were with the Aspect at the farmhouse!” Ivixa began with a soft smile. “Has anyone ever told you how good you are with a vibroblade?” She asked the rhetorical question with a playful grin. “That said...” Ivixa sighed as she glanced at the pickup game playing out in front of her. “I just...wasn’t very good.” She stated simply. “I don’t even think I can grip the ball properly.”

"You seem good at it though!"
She finished with a smile.

Conn shared a smile when it was affirmed that Ivixa did indeed remember him from the mission in the farming sphere. She had caught his attention then and made quite an impression. Having never seen an Asa'nyx until he arrived at Scintilla, Conn had only seen one or two of her kind at a distance. Ivixa was the first one he had seen up close, most unexpectedly wielding a sizable sniper rifle with lethal skill. While his original thoughts of the colorful, small people were along the lines of cute and cuddly, Ivixa proved they could be deadly and fierce as she blew away raider after raider. She earned not only Conn's intrigue that day, but his respect.

Far from the battlefield, one might miss that the voluptuous, doll-faced 'nyx was a savage soldier. But Conn looked at her differently, and was somewhat surprised to hear she had given up on playing basketball. He caught Ivixa's bright gold gaze, held a moment by the intensity of the color. The woman's features were doll-like, but not child-like, and had an attractive, regal set. contrary to what one might think, her large ears complimented her platinum hair-framed features. That day on the mission, those delicate features were spattered with Vagaari blood.

Conn's coughed a dismissive laugh when she complimented him on his swordplay, but offered a smile in gratitude. He quickly shrugged of Ivixa's kind observation and turned his attention to her friend's game, which had drawn in a few of his former teammates as well. "I have seen you plug a Vagaari in the chest with four slugs at point blank ranged without one of those fine manicured brows flinching. You took blaster hits to your..." His eyes dropped and took them in, then quickly lifted his eyes to hers again, "...chest and got right up and charged in with a blade. Basketball isn't going to defeat the mighty Ivixa."

Patting a full, firm thigh, Conn straightened his spine a bit. "Come on, lets really see what you have in you." He encouraged, standing and heading to the empty court his friends had cleared. He kicked up a basketball and caught it in his hands. He waved at her. "Come on, I've been wanting to get to know my 'Nyx comrade anyway." Conn continued to coax.
