Strengths
  • Siblings Above All - Alwine views keeping the Lechner siblings united and together as above all else. She will not hesitate to remove anyone and anything that threatens it. She draws much of her strength from this.
  • Sharp Tongued - Having forced to remain silent most of her life, Alwine has learned by watching others how words are used. She can use her tongue to cut sharper than a blade, and she does so quite often.
  • Insightful - Little passes Alwine's notice. She understands people and behavior better than most.
  • Lupine Senses - Metahuman sight of smell and hearing.
  • Anger - Growing up oppressed until not too long ago, Alwine wields her anger at everything like a well honed blade, knowing when to use it and when to keep it down.
  • Gifted - No longer on Stewjon, Alwine is realizing each and every day just how smart she is, and how quickly she learns and adjusts to her surroundings.
  • Ugly Truth over Beautiful Lies - While Alwine is sharp with her words, she clings to the truth all times. Not once has she found herself in a position in which lying was better than being truthful thus. She also has no trouble admitting when she is ignorant or uneducated regarding a matter.
Weaknesses
  • Never Wrong - While Alwine easily admits when she does not know something, once she has formed an opinion, it is almost impossible to prove her wrong or move her from it.
  • Judgemental - If Alwine has taken notice of you, she is judging you. About everything. You cannot hope to escape it.
  • Semi Illiterate - Alwine can read and write, but at grammar-school level. She practices almost daily to improve this though, so this will be removed from the weakness list in the not too distant future.
  • Technologically Challenged - Having never had any access to droids or computer systems on Stewjon, Alwine is very backwards when it comes to anything technological. She is learning though, so this will be removed from the weakness list in the not too distant future.
  • Bilingual - Alwine only knows Basic and the language she uses with her brothers. She can't speak a word in any other of the plethora of languages that can be found in the 'verse.
  • Lupine Weaknesses - Sensitive to loud noises that can take her out, a shorter life span, and needing a full five minutes to shift from human to wolf or wolf to human, during which she is entirely vulnerable.

The Life of Alwine Lechner, the Angry Wolf

Prologue
Alwine was the youngest of three, born to the Lechner family on Stewjon. Like her mother and brothers, the Lupine gene ensured that this would be her species, and her life had revolved around that fact since an early age. The Lechner mother taught her children to be afraid and to be ashamed of being what they were, and so the children were all kept close, with freedom being a very limited thing. To make things worse, the family belonged to the working class family; a lowly caste that was mostly meant to be in servitude.

But whereas her brothers had more freedom to choose to go where they willed under the restrictions of the Stewjon caste system, Alwine was not as lucky. Being born a female, she was prepper from a young age to learn her place of servitude. Head down, house wivery, and all of the works. Under the circumstances, she learned to internalize the rage that roared through her as the Lupine fought for freedom and blood, and the woman fought to stay afloat under all the false pretensions instilled in her by her mother.

She dreamed of becoming a Shield Maiden when she got older, but her parent refused. Alwine was too small of body, and the thought of a daughter joining something that involved so much sleeping outdoors and sharing space with other people was something they thoroughly rejected. Pointing out the hypocrisy to the fact that they had no such issues with her brothers could not get them to change their minds regarding the subject.

Alwine began to learn how to fight in secret. She had found an old two handed sword that was almost as tall as she was (or short, depending on your perspective) and began to practice at night with the help of her brothers. She never became too amazing at it, but she was good enough to know how to use it to defend herself and not remove her own limbs while she was at it.

As Alwine grew up and began to shift into her wolf form, her hatred for her mother swelled with each and every passing day. Her mother had taught her to keep her head down, to be humble, and modest, but every fiber of Alwine’s being wanted to get out, to scream, to fight. The internal wars that raged inside her sometimes felt too large to contain in her tiny body, and she often ignored the order in which they were supposed to prowl the forests at night, just so she could run free and away. But as a dutiful daughter, she always returned the following day.

The only solace Alwine found at home was in her brothers. The three were tightly knit, spending a lot of time together. She trusted her brothers, and as far as she was concerned, she would protect them for as long as they all lived. She was the youngest and the smallest – but by no means did that mean she was any less fierce than Varick and Gerwald. At night, she often slept while being in her wolf form, guarding her brothers where they slept when they were at home.

When the Confederacy came, Aline was certain that they would all leave. As a family. She was almost willing to forgive her mother for nineteen years of misery and confinement if it meant that they could leave and embark on a new life. But it was not to be. Only Gerwald left, together with another Lupine, leaving Alwine back on Stewjon and giving her nothing but more reasons to kindle the fire that raged inside of her. The very night that Gerwald left, Alwine set fire to the food storage barns of the village, not caring if she got caught.

Well.

She got caught.

And since she had used the Force to do it, the accusation had been simple, but horrible – witchcraft. The people of Stewon did not know what the Force was, and to be frank, neither did the Lechner family. She really had thought she was a witch, or sorceress, or something of the sort. Only her brothers knew she had some abilities, just as she knew they had theirs. They had been all wonderful at keeping it a secret.

The months that followed were full of her trial. Whether she would be found innocent or guilty, her mother’s plans to set up an arranged marriage for her were tossed through the window. There no longer was a future on Stewjon to speak of. During the trial, she had been drowns, abused, tortured, and more, as the judges tried to decree her level of witchcraft. Through it all though, not once, not ever, had she allowed herself to change into the wolf. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew that the moment she changed her skin, not only she would be in this mess, but her entire family as well.

It was generally agreed in the family that Gerwald was to know none of that. He had been given the chance to start a new life with the Confederacy. While his sister might have drawn the shorter straw, she refused to let anyone give him a reason to come back and become trapped again in the hell that was their home planet.

At long last, Alwine was fed up. Each of the Lechner siblings had played their part in breaking the pack, and she accepted that without it, there was utterly no reason for her to remain with the Southern Systems. The Galaxy was a large one, and there had to be more that it had to offer other than that specific organization. She had already left the ship that they had all lived in, opting instead to rent an apartment in Golbah City, and while she still performed her job as was expected of her, her private time was dedicated to learning what was beyond the stars.

It was by pure luck that Alwine ran across [member="Madalena Antares"] during one of her walks around the city. The two had shared a certain bond due to events that had happened in the past, yet had grown somewhat distant while each of them had busied herself with other matters over the last few months. Alwine and Madalena sat down as they always had, and Madalena revealed to Alwine that she, her sister, and a handful of individuals would be leaving.

Alwine immediately said she would be leaving with them, giving the lil' to'ryll solen no choice to deny her. Shortly thereafter, a small and insignificant pretend fleet that was made up mostly of a bunch of small private vessels left the Southern Systems and made way into the Unknown Regions. Those few weeks were among the happiest Alwine had ever known. The entire group simply accepted one another, and each had strengths to bestow to the rest in a manner that she had not realized how she sorely needed.

While the group had little plans beyond exploring parts that had been left untouched by those who were there before them, they had not expected to run into Discordia. Alwine became one of the Agents of Chaos' Firsts, and Discordia looked directly into her heart, knowing instantly that Alwine did not wish to be a Warrior. Given the freedom to choose her own destiny, as well as the freedom to come and go as she wished, Alwine chose to become the Head of Speakers, and shape the position as she saw fit.

Born into a reality where one of her station could either be a servant or a warrior, and then learned that more options existed, Alwine was now encouraged to explore what those options were, and how she could use them to her benefit. And of course, there was that whole toppling down large governments thing that she also particularly liked.
