Public Second Galactic Economic Conference

Vulpesen's eyes widened as he watched the drone dismantle the boxes, his tail twitching against the wall. Watching it, there was one thought on his mind. What would happen if you used that on a person. Then there was the explanation of her other projects, including what he could only assume was a pocket cannon capable of blasting ships from the sky. "I'm sorry, did I say divine? I meant infernal. I hope you realize just how terrifying your catalog is." Vulpesen wandered over to a large box in the Lupa and opened the lid to produce a rotary grenade launcher. "And I developed a grenade launcher with a break action rocket launcher."

After a few moments of observing the crowd, a bit of people watching if you will, Judah decided it was best to get down to business. He had mentally debated about buying the Singularity and its modifications since Salacia had somewhat similar space stations out there.

Yet they didn't have something that could support the sheer volume the Singularity could.

In the end, he settled on placing an order for two ; one for himself and one to assist with his sons fledging company. A thank you to the younger Dashiell for all the hard work and weight the young man had been pulling for the last few months.

Straightening his tie, Judah thought back to Casteban Mecetti Casteban Mecetti and his words during that presentation. Apparently there was a sales manager around.

Of course, the company booth and set-up wouldn't be hard to miss, one of the largest due to that speech and rollout Mecetti had given.

Time to spend some credits.

She looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "THis?" She looked at the few items they had brought for show. "Oh sweet summer child." A grin sure but she was looking at what he spoke about. "These things are only the stuff for the average person. I haven't even shown you the advanced stuff. Those robes Matsu upgraded for your are a decent example but we developed even better things like our rekali flight suits for when you wan to strap an inertial compensator and engine on your eva troopers to boards command ships from extreme ranges. Orr our matter conversion crystals to empower our tora devices. Adding to the shield and beam crystals."

As Danger watched Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr smoothly handle her questions and then slip away to pursue other sales, she couldn't help but be entertained. Making credits was essential, she understood, but she wished they could have explored other opportunities together. Maybe another time, she thought optimistically.

“Do enjoy the rest of the evening, Director,” Danger replied with a soft smile.

Quite the way to seal a deal, Danger thought to herself with a grin, before sauntering off. It was then that she spotted Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla . With a charming smile, she made her way over to the Mandalorian, noting the unmistakable sigil and blue armor of Clan Vizsla, particularly belonging to The Black Hand Collective. The painted handprint marked them as a former Hand of Mand'alor, adding to Danger's curiosity.

Having recently committed to a contract with Ijaat Mereel Ijaat Mereel for Mandalore's rehabilitation through MaraTibx and Arceneau Trade, Danger was eager to engage with fellow stakeholders. Like the reconstruction efforts on Corellia and other worlds, Arceneau Trade specialized in revitalization and environmental restoration. It was a pleasure to do her part in revitalizing Mandalore once more.

"Always a pleasure to encounter a Vizsla," Danger drawled, offering her hand in greeting to Aloy Vizsla.

"Danger Arceneau, a pleasure," Danger introduced herself warmly.

Darth Ayra watched the elder man turn and wander away. The cigarette between her lips hung between the exhale of smoke that danced, and twirled in the air in the darkened hallways of the Meniium, in the background of a conference that, at least to her, were blissfully unaware of what had just happened. The beginnings of a relationship between her and the Mecetti were set to serve as a foundation towards the Grand Scheme. Unbeknownst to himself Casteban had just indoctrinated himself into a network that, once fully constructed, would span the entire Galaxy: supplying it's creator with intelligence, wealth and power that would be used to deliver the promise of the Sith.

Woven into the tapestry of the Sith'ari Ayra moved out of the lonely booth that she had shared with Casteban, and discarded the cigarette as she walked back into the public spotlight. Now that the Cortosis mine that she owned on Obredaan was set to be opened and put into work, Ayra was in need of someone who specialized in that particular industry. She was knowledgeable on markets such as agriculture, weapons manufacture, ship, vehicle and technology but when it came to mining Ayra had to admit that she was a novice at best, and a complete amateur at worse.

As she walked through the conference Ayra recalled that during the Mecetti conference a man had enquired about mining and remembered the name. Judah Dashiell, Salacia Consolidated. Would they be able to head operations on Obredaan? While Casteban would handle the hiring of a workforce to enter the mine and begin extracting Cortosis ore for refinement and manufacture, the mine itself would need someone who knew what they were doing. With that in mind Ayra begun to look for Judah and found him near the Mecetti Nationalized Industries booth.

Approaching the head of Salacia Ayra introduced herself to Judah. "Mr. Dashiell. I am Alicia Drey. If you have the time I think I have work for you on Obredaan. I was at the Mecetti conference and heard your question. Do you have any speciality when it comes to mining Cortosis?"

"I think you'll find that these Tie/mg starfighters are the perfect tool for your security escorts between Alzebar and its moon. The cutouts in the forward panels allow unparalleled visibility for the pilots, and they have the range to make the journey. Why pay for a starfighter with a hyperdrive when you're only going to the moon and back? Yes, sir. I think you'll be most satisfied. Just sign here, and.... there you go. One squadron of the best Ties money can buy! We'll have them delivered before the end of the week."

Having completed his transaction, the HMNI salesman tucked away his datapad with a smile, and waited for the Alzebarian official to move on. Then he meandered over to the next apparent customer. Or two, in this case.

"You look like a couple in search for quality starships. What can I interest you in, Sir? Madam?"

Aloy smiled behind the visor and shook Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau 's hand with her own good hand, leaving the porcelain-esque prosthetic on the opposite arm to grip her belt idly.

"Ah! Aloy Vizsla. I had... heard your company was aboard and planned to stop by actually. The manda must favor this meeting" she chuckled.

"It's been a long time since an Aruetii recognized my house before introducing myself, you must have an uncommon education! Alas, I was only informed of business matters. I'm actually quite the fan of your Solarium Glasteel"

She was a little more chatty than before in part as a coping mechanism to drive the internal panic away, given that miss Danger could be here simply because she saw the scout observing the conversation between herself and Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr , but also in part because she was genuinely impressed. She'd have to inquire as to what more the business titan knew of herself and her culture.

"Anyway, What can I, or the collective do for you today?"

Danger's grin widened as she recalled Ijaat also expressing his admiration for her knowledge of Mando'a customs and clans. It seemed that was part of the reason he'd approached her about reviving the Mythosaur. Her technicians at PharmaTech were burning the midnight oil, analyzing the samples Ijaat had provided, and she hoped to have some follow-up soon. Maintaining a good relationship was key, which was why she'd dedicated decades to working closely with the Clans, ensuring she wouldn't accidentally step on any toes. It was all about being prepared, doing the research, and understanding what mattered to the surviving clans so they could both benefit.

"I've spent my fair share of time in this sector, working alongside the various Houses and Clans," she explained, nodding in appreciation to Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla for her kind words. It was a rare compliment indeed, and Danger was savvy enough to recognize it.

"While I might not be fluent in Mando'a, I do my best to soak up as much as I can," she added, clarifying how she'd recognized Vizsla's house. "But I do have a question about a potential collaboration." Danger shifted gears, her attention now on the Collective's product line.

"Your Predator Scan-pulse module caught my eye," she continued, her interest piqued by its functionality. "Do you reckon it's possible to team up and adapt that technology for use with mobile drones or scouts? Maybe even throw in sensors for trace minerals or gases? I'd much rather send in the drones to scope things out than risk the lives of my boys."

It was not said to provoke more panic that Danger had observed the scout, but more a true interest in collaboration. Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell might be interested in such a feature if he continues his path in exploring mining options.

Ahhhhhh, she was late, she was late, she was late! How had Ji-Ji let her oversleep? A quick nap would have been enough and now she was hours behind. The Pantoran woman walked through the exposition hall at a hurried clip. Not too fast as to be indiscreet, yet she made good time to her booth that her AI friend had set up through its droid bodies while she slumbered. "Look, I don't care if you set it up. If I wasn't there to open it, we're late." She said into the air as she walked. Talking with the AI in public always made her look like a madwoman, at least this time she'd brought an earpiece to the convention instead of simply hiding everything in her jewelry. "It doesn't matter if you think I've been working too hard lately. We haven't had a major contract since the ValeCorp thing and even if we're pulling in royalties I want to keep the momentum going."

Fortuitously the booth was set how she wanted it, brand new Courser Racing Motorcycle front and center, polished and gleaming under the floor lights. The rear flanked by the Eagle and Slicer armors, and a table draped with the Luminescent Cloak, spread with flyers. She really hadn't done much since the first Economic Conference that wasn't prosthetics. Well there was the Liberty Particle Rifle but that was hopefully going to be an exclusive contract with the Galactic Alliance. Surreptitiously, she still set one on the table, bi-pod keeping it upright and displayed with a 'prototype, NFS' tag.

With a bit of luck, one of her display pieces would catch someone's interest and they'd want to hire her for a bespoke item or line. If not, she'd be regulated to wandering the halls chatting with Ji-Ji and looking over the competing innovations.

Milling around, awaiting his turn, Judah was approached by a striking blonde woman, one he had not seen around any business functions before. Didn't mean she had been absent to such things, but the elder Dashiell suspected he would remember the commotion a beautiful woman would have brought.

"Miss Drey, I don't believe our paths have had the pleasure of crossing before."

Mining work? That was an interesting one. Mining was a side business for Salacia, while expanding, salvage was where a majority of their profits came from. Typically they focused on oceanic or deep-earth mining. Phrik was also in their wheelhouse.

"I do not have experience mining cortosis. However, I do know of someone who does. Very reliable, lives and breathes geology."

A little too much, if you asked him. Judah had zoned out more than once at the explanations his son had provided about the most banal aspects of rocks and ores.

"My son has a passion for this type of work.He has been working with Salacia since he was a teenager and recently started his own mining company. I know for a fact he is knowledgeable with cortosis and has the resources to get the proper equipment at a moments notice."

Before he could continue, the sales manager interrupted them, eager to sell the Singularity.

"Just a moment Sir. I'll get back with you shortly."

A turn back to Miss Drey.

"You could hire him outright or I could easily subcontract his work for your venture, Miss Drey."

"Mm?" Aloy perked up at the word 'collaboration'. This was a fortunate turn of events considering that she had planned to approach Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau on her own, now she had something to work with so that a deal could be struck.

Though she did squint behind her visor at the mention of scouts and how best to use them. While it could easily be just a woman's own preferences, she couldn't rule out the possibility that Danger had noticed the scout following the trade federation. How much does she know? considering that the scout had left along with the trade federation's director, she hoped that Danger understood there was no ill intent, at least not towards herself.

"We would have to update a one of the components" She began after a brief pause "But I think we can improve the scale of production to meet your needs. Would your company be producing the drones or do you merely require the component itself? I have experience with droids that is... uncommon among my people, so rest assured we can do both"

She sent a silent signal to a nearby Overseer droid who came marching up to her side.

"This unit was designed to command starships in the event of a captain's death, and defend remaining crew alike. Navigation and war are no concern, a droid brain commanding a drone is not so different" It stated in a deep, monotone and metallic voice.

"That would be splendid. I am opening a mine on Obredaan and I require someone with expertise to help us set up shop there."

Things were now drawing to a close here. She had made contact with Casteban, and now things were in place to start again. For the first time, in a very long time, Alicia was stepping back into the business world, with all it's snakes, negotiations and politicking. Planting a smile towards Judah, Alicia said:

"I am set to host my own smaller venue on Obredaan some weeks from now for the opening. Salacia would be a more than welcome guest to discuss arrangements for the mine, and of course, yourself and your son are more than welcome to attend. We will be in touch with the stardate, time and location of the venue so that you have enough time to prepare for the journey."

"Thank you for your time, and good luck with your new cruiser."

Turning away from Judah Alicia navigated her way back to the hangar bay of the Meniium to return to the planet below.

Her business had been concluded.

"It will be a pleasure to see you again on Odredaan. Until then, Miss Drey."

Now that one portion of business was settled, he was onto the next, turning to the patient sales manager. Judah felt mildly bad about making the man wait but he supposed if one chose this line of work it came with the territory.

"My apologies Sir. Regarding the Singularity-class. I am interested in purchasing two ; one modified for mining and one modified for salvage intake. I would also need a full order of those mining drones also mentioned during the presentation."

"I'm happy for the Collective to produce them drones, widgets, and them overseer droids. Thinkin' 'bout it further, I'd also want them to be able to survive various environments in all conditions. Some sites are harsh on all sorts of gear - Heat, acid, and cold. Need them to be able to work in all-enviroments." Danger replied with a grin, pleased they were on the same page about production.

"But while I'm mighty eager for them overseer droids, I reckon it's only fair to give them folks in them droid-shy territories some choices. Got a few folks still spooked about droids takin' over, and some customers think it's best to have a livin', breathin' soul callin' the shots."

Droid fear and prejudice still ran deep in some parts, especially after what went down with them. Droid's order made trouble for humanoids.

"You need a hand in resourcing them ores and metals for such a large production?" Danger's mining business stretched far and wide, from one end of the galaxy clear to satellite worlds like Companion Esk and Besh. There were other worlds that also required researching and surveying, so this would be an immense and continuing order.

"MaraTibx can throw in a discount on them alloys and ores you need for this here ongoing deal. A tit for a tat, you know?" She flashed a grin. After all, it was all about finding mutually beneficial negotiations. Scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours.

"Appreciated," She would nod to Danger's fair terms "I was actually hoping to discuss some sort of exchange with your company anyway"

"These terms are acceptable to the collective, and I am prepared to sign off on the contract as it is. However, I wonder if we might extend it some?"

Aloy gestured to the optics on her NAV1 cannon being displayed.
"We've been purchasing Solarium Glasteel for use in sturdy optics for some time now, and many individuals in our employ use the material in protective equipment, in addition to it's intended uses. A discount of sorts would allow use to expand it's use in company issued equipment and perhaps components used in products- such as these drones- that your people might find useful"

Tit for tat was what she had planned to offer before being approached by Danger, and she was willingly to extend her side of the bargain if need be, so long as her people got the protective wear they required.

"We have a knack for finding industrial materials used in starship and vehicle production, such as duraplast for example" She definitely skipped the part about it coming from dismantled imperial vessels "But also a few materials with less warlike values. I own Bronzium and Chromium mines on Tatooine, you see. Perhaps we could offer some of these, enough to help offset the loss in Solarium Glasteel"

Nothing perked Danger's respect and admiration than a woman who was willing to barter and negotiate well when it came to business. The proposal offered by Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla was fair indeed, and it would provide venues for acquiring Bronzium and Chromium for use across all of Arceneau Trade and its affiliates.

The soft smile turned into a broad grin, with the Queen of Trade going, "Well then, Aloy Vizsla, " she gave a cant of her head as if to suggest, well played and took a sip of her drink. The warm burn washed down her throat with a pleasant burn. "Keep talkin' like this, and I do believe I'll have to take you out for a drink."

Danger chuckled and gave an incline of her flame-red hair, "The offer is good and fair, so consider it done. We'll offer a discount for an open contract for the Collective to use Solarium Glasteel as you desire. I've also got a version of a self-repairing solarium glasteel in the works soon that you might be interested in. Not as much in terms of mass production, but in limited quantities might be useful."

"An excellent idea, Sir," the salesman declared, his mind already calculating the likely profit from his commission. Even at one tenth of one-percent, his family would be dining on steak for years on this transaction.

"The Obulette shipyards operated by House Mecetti are capable of bespoke, custom builds of every hullform. It will be a small matter to make alterations to the design to suit your preferences.

Might I suggest, for your salvage model, a number of salvage drones? They are scheduled for public offer by end of year, but I think I can secure you a quantity right now. This would give each of your vessels the ideal drone for its purpose.

We can also adjust the armaments as needed for a civilian role..."

He went on a long spiel, but the bottom line was simple: The House Mecetti Nationalized Industries had six hulls under construction already, in anticipation of future orders. They could reconfigure two of them on the fly, delivering them in timely fashion.

Judah would have his ships well ahead of the average customer, and they could start work immediately following a ten-percent deposit.

"Self repairing? would make a fine visor" She tapped her own visor, then held out her good hand to shake.

"It's a deal then. I'll work on the scan-pulse component and then we can collaborate on the larger schematics if you wish"

"Or collaborate on a bottle sometime"
Aloy chuckled, having no issue removing the helmet during more personal occasions. That and everything she had done for the past few years, from waking up to simply conversing, had a purpose behind it involving either business or warfare, two things which often overlapped lately. It had been too long since she merely enjoyed a moment for her own sake.

"Well, it's been a pleasure to do business, miss Arceneau. Do let us know if we can be of further assistance"

Danger Arceneau Danger Arceneau

"Drones will also be of use, thank you. Go ahead and secure the order for their procurement as well, to be delivered the same time as the Singularity. We will be in touch regarding delivery and minor details. I look forward to a long partnership with House Mecetti."

Judah shared his contact information with the sales manager, pertinent details such as billing for the deposit. From there, various Salacia employees would handle timeline issues ; Judah wouldn't need to interfere again unless a major problem arose.

Thanking the sales manager once again, he looked around for his next order of business. The elder Dashiell finally caught sight of flame red hair, just finishing up a conversation with another.

Excellent timing.

Striding over to her, Judah would wait a moment until the man was walking away, the deal settled for now.

"Danger, could I have a moment of your time?"

"It's been a pleasure doin' business with ya, Aloy Vizsla," Danger drawled out, her voice dripping with satisfaction like sweet molasses on a warm summer day. As the Mandalorian departed, she made a mental note to have a chat with Aeri about speeding up the development of the self-repairing solarium glasteel.

Bringing the glass of brandy to her lips, Danger savored a sip of the spicy liquor, relishing the warmth that spread through her veins. But before she could lose herself in reverie, the unexpected sound of Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell 's voice calling her name snapped her back to reality.

Turning her feline emerald-fire eyes towards him, Danger met the oceanic orbs of the man who had been avoiding her. There was no avoiding the faint shadows under his eyes nor the way his cheekbones seemed a bit more pronounced under the groomed beard. She'd have made a comment regarding his health and well-being, but she knew well by now he didn't appreciate her commentary. Nor did she want to fan another fight.

All in all, by all intents and purposes he looked well besides that, with his peppered hair swept back from his face and his suit forming to his broad frame. His presence meant business or something to do with the kids. Concern etched her features, and she responded in a throaty voice, "Of course, is everythin' alright?"

It was best to inquire if it had to do with the kids unless he preferred to step away for a more private chat.
