Myri smiled and gave a nod to the Twi’lek Mandalorian. Myri wasn’t quite sure what the command structure looked like, but she was pretty sure that both Agent Emrick and Alor'ad Cadera were above her. So she stayed to the background for the moment and let the next step play out. The Overseer sent additional word to Silhana which seemed to say something to the effect that we have all the information we will be immediately privy to.

Myri made a mental note not to inform the Alor’ad of any inaccurate shots for the rest of the mission. Though she hoped that it was merely a joke despite the irritated grumble it was spoken with. If it wasn’t a joke Myri could handle a serious commander. Silhana gave the situation report. Many lifesigns of unknown origin within a hundred meters of the entrance, but nothing seen as immediate danger.

Myri followed behind the Mandalorian to the cave entry. Myri had trouble deciding whether it was fancy and old, or just old. It definitely needed some technological upgrades to make it a worthwhile habitat. At least get some electricity. The torches were just too old school for Myri. She wouldn’t even consider them romantic in a different situation. I followed close behind Silhana up the stairway and then to the closed door. I gave a nod to the Twi’lek and she opened up the door.

Without a moment’s notice something gave out a roar and was pushing through the doorway. Myri had no idea what it was, but it was huge, filled with scales and most frighteningly had five heads. Each head had a mouth filled with pointed fangs and lashed out at the intruders.

Myri jumped backwards at the initial strike and lashed out instinctively with her knuckle-blade, missing the attacking creature completely. The creature continued out the door revealing a body with four legs each having claws at the end. “I suggest a coordinated attack from different angles,” Myri yelled out to the others. “And blasters,” she added with a bit of disappointment in her tone, pulling her two pistols from their holsters and opening fire hoping that the beast’s scales weren’t armored.

Nyrasa stayed back, amused by the Alor'ad's frustrations. She had never had any opportunity to work with mandalorians in the past, save the few criminals and Blackwatch assets she's met with. It certainly was an entertaining expedition, better than her quiet office on the spire of Zakuul. She took out her tablet as she studied the file on the planet Skye's "underworld," which frankly, was more empty than she would have liked.

There were so many questions of hers left unanswered regarding the Entyrmion, if she hadn't been on this mission, she would be exploring the planet, but unfortunately there were more pressing matters. The crawler halted on the Agents command, a short way from the door, which was quite peculiar. If it was sithspawn and other creatures alike holding the castle, how did they keep it operational? Surely the it would be in some form of ruins.

It was all quite odd, and it kept her on edge as she quietly approached the door behind the Alor'ad and other Agent. Surely there was some guard of sorts? If someone wanted to unleash a planet full of beasts on a civilisation, surely they'd be better protected. Her thoughts were confirmed when there was confirmation of another life source. Maybe this would be her chance to capture one of the fascinating beasts she had heard about, that is if no one killed it before that happened.

When the door opened, and the roaring filled the cave, she hastily dashed back, not wanting to get caught between one of the nasty looking heads. She hadn't seen anything like that in the files she had received, though maybe she had missed it. It certainly wasn't like any creature she'd every seen.

Agent Dara's suggestion was barely heard by the Agent, drawing her pistol and loading in depleted baradium rounds. If the creatures scales were armoured, she was not taking that chance. "Alright, try and confuse it as much as possible, and use armour piercing rounds if you have them" She yelled back as the blaster fire echoed through the cavern. As expected, the blaster bolts smashed harmlessly against the creatures scales, and with a quick growl it charged Nyrasa.

Without hesitation she shot a round at one of the creatures legs, and as the armour piercing round found its mark, the creature fell, though quickly recovering, it was clear the shot had some effect, as the creatures blood stained the ground where it had fallen.

I definitely like this, that my peers are decisive and proactive. It was the best way to work with others. The idea was good, but the space up here was smaller and we couldn't fit all three of us. And for that, if I wanted to use my own Mando equipment, it was downright tight. If I didn't want them to get hurt or burned, I should have kept moving. And this was not comfortable during the fight, especially in such a not very big place.

<< This corridor is too narrow for the three of us and I don't want friendly fire. I go in, try to get to the other side of the creature, and that way we can even confuse it. >> I told the agents.

I have to say the creature with the five heads was really ugly, like some kind of dragon from one of the fairy... nightmare tales. Just one don't think of them as ugly as these were. As the agents opened fire on the creature, I then waited a few moments before activating the jetpack and flying through the door. The creature had many heads, so I didn't have an easy time avoiding the heads, and it even had a long tail. Because of this, the other creatures in the back couldn't get close to us at all, but this big one occupied the entire corridor.

As I saw, his skin was really "armoured" to some extent, so the shots could damage him in several places, and the baradium projectiles used by Agent Emrick also seriously injured him. The creature howled in pain and became confused. On the one hand, he tried to get after me, on the other hand, he also attacked the two agents, and he almost fell when his leg was hit by the attack. He tried to turn back in the corridor, which was not very wide, but the dragon-like creature did, so even the wall cracked in several places, and the corridor shook.

<< I try to get the creature's attention, and you could kill it, hopefully. >> I told the agents.

When I was above it, because the five heads made this dragon-like creature quite large, I released the projectiles from the whistling bird that hit the creature. It roared with all five heads and all heads trying to turn towards me, causing even its legs to get tangled and its movement confused. But at least all the heads wanted to kill me, and probably eat me and not the agents. Although maybe they still had a great view of the heads, only this time from the back.

<< I hope I gained you enough time, kill it! >> I suggested.

Agent Emrick and Alor’ad Cadera sprung into action alongside Myri. The creature kept Myri at bay lunging at her with one of its heads, but too quick for her to jab it with her blade and too well armored for her standard blaster bolts to do anything more than cause a temporary pause before the creature struck out again. Agent Emrick was better prepared, of course Myri had to be convinced by her training agent to even bring blasters along on her first missions. She was a close combat specialist. Being ready to blast through tough scales was not in her standard readiness routine. It would be after this encounter.

Nyrasa put the beast down temporarily, but just long enough for Myri to dash in and drive her vibro blade into the eye of the head that had been tormenting her since the moment the beast had been let through the door. The creature screamed, but as soon as it was up on its feet again it was striking out at Myri, even without a fully functioning eye.

Silhana pointed out that the corridor was too narrow for Myri’s suggested course of action, with three people at least and the Twi’lek Mandalorian had a different plan in mind. Myri smirked as Silhana used her jetpack to get into flanking position, hoping to catch the five headed beast in a crossfire. On the other side of the corridor, Silhana attacked somehow that seemed to draw the dragon-beast’s ire and it turned to “chase” after Silhana, much to the detriment of the corridor’s structure.

“I don’t have anything that’s going to get through those armored scales,” Myri called out as she watched the creature's tail lash back and forth. “I’m going to attack from beneath. Hope all the stories of beasts with soft undersides aren’t tall tales.” She watched the tail swoop back and forth a few more times, locking down the timing before Myri started a dash forward and slid on her back past the swirling tail. She lashed out with her vibro blade before she came to a stop in the middle of the beast's legs. Myri loosed her blasters and started firing everything she had hoping that her efforts, plus those of her compatriots would bring it down. She looked to each side of her making sure she had a safe place to roll to if the beast turned its attention to her, or started to fall.

The Drone was recalled, and in the waiting time for it to return the princess took stock of her situation. The noise of a crew above making her glance back as she grimaced. The last thing she wanted just yet was to be drug back up without even doing anything besides getting hurt.

"You know what needs done. Make it so and continue on the mission."

She paused at the sound again, still seeing nothing as a familiar feeling settled into her mind. A smile forming at the realization.

"Aw. I missed you guys." She chirped, hearing the Drone coming from the tunnel ahead. A nod solidified what she had to do next, producing a Shiv and flipping it around in her hand.

A quick series of huffs and puffs still didn't prepare her completely.

The knife rose, plunging into the side of her leg as the nerves awoke completely to the feeling of pain. Her whole body tensing at the revived sensation that slowly unfurled in her right leg.

"SONOFA-FETHFETHFETH-CHITINAHANDBASKET" She squalled, looking to the left leg with a single scoff. "Should have done it at the same time."

Repeating the process, with less cursing the second time around, she let the sensation of pain sing through her legs as the Drone appeared and chirped at her. Plugging back into its place, she bothered to peel back the small slits in her armor to glance at the cuts.

The medical systems were struggling with the destruction of nearby systems, but the bleeding had been minimized as she wiped the knife off on her arm. Slipping it back into the mag-locked sheath, she braced herself against the wall as the sounds of work began to slow on the exhaust vent.

"Come on then. Act like legs instead of sticks." She slapped each leg, wincing as pain coursed through her nerves until she could feel her toes wiggle in each boot.

A rope dropped down and into the fan blade, winding itself around the assembly.

Her face whipped around, searching for a visible spot in the Visor as the blade ground to a halt. The click of her tongue beginning the awkward duck waddle forward as she got her legs under her once more.

The muscles worked, but the signals were still getting crossed as she kept herself from a nose dive when her knee gave out. Picking herself up again, she shook her head and moved forward on the path the droid had marked out.

"Here comes trouble along the outside." She recalled a memory centered around a racetrack. The sounds of an announcer screeching about positions of the jockeys or something as she held a knife up and into view.

Her legs in the memory in a similar pained state as she stumbled forward.

Target within operation vicinity. Execute.

She shook her head, the last sight of a blade sunk into some green skinned beings neck and twisted before the real world came back. Her steps slow as she tried to keep from the retrieval group behind her.

The sounds of soldiers ahead caught her wandering attentions, slowly keeping herself from bracing against the wall as she passed through the gathered bodies.

As each of the 3 fighters did their part, Nyrasa carefully aimed her shots. She fired shot after shot of armour piercing rounds, aiming for the heads specifically. She grunted in annoyance as the creature turned its attention elsewhere. Despite the chaos of the situation, the creature was slowly but surely falling.

The creature emitted a roar as a 3rd shot made its mark on the centre most head of the beast, soon enough the creature would have to fall. She had barely enough time to listen to the intents of her companions before Myri slid under the beast, a risky strategy. Her attention diverted to the tail of the creature though, as it swung and missed Myri, it set its new target, her.

She hastily summoned the green mist of spirit ichor and attempted to transport herself to safety, but she knew she wouldn't be quick enough. She raised her blaster and shot at the tail repeatedly, cutting away at the end. The creatures roar echoed through the cave as the tail, hardly functional, brushed up against her with little force.

Not wanting to waste another moment, she aimed her pistol towards the centre of the creature, wanting to do as much damage as possible. She shot, then immediately hit a button on the side of the pistol, as the rounds changed from previous armour piercing rounds, now to explosive. It was quite the stupid idea, but if it worked, the creature would be severely injured.

"I'm going to shoot an explosive at it, if it's not dead finish the job!"

With that, the round left the pistol, if it went even a bit off mark, it wouldn't work. Using an explosive in a tight cave was perhaps the definition of a bad idea, but she had a plan. She raised her left hand towards the creature, once again summon spirit ichor, and formed a barrier in the form of a sphere, locking the explosive round in with the creature, as to not destroy the cave and them with it.

The explosion went off, and the creature gave out it's loudest roar yet, blood splattered across the cave. Nyrasa once again reached out, and attempted to keep the creature in the air for a moment longer, as to give the junior agent a time to escape from under the creature before getting crushed.

To tell the truth, I didn't even have to intervene in this fight, because the ladies, the agents solved the matter very well. They took advantage of the fact that most of the heads tried to catch me because of my earlier attack, while they attacked in the less protected place. Usually an animal, even though it is protected by armoured scales on its sides or back, the belly of any living creature is usually unprotected. I didn't want to remember anything like that. My lower and middle abdomen still hurt where Kralmus had stabbed me twice during our duel.

I have to say, it was not pleasant, and neither was the recovery. Both were pretty deep, if I hadn't burned out the second wound with my own flamethrower aboard the Devourer I would have bled to death there. Well, that would have been a really unpleasant and undignified death. But now against this five-headed creature it worked perfectly. The ladies got to the weaker, softer part, under the belly, and then attacked with cuts and even explosive charges. And that was too much even for this five-headed creature.

While the agents were dealing with this, I rather attacked with smaller, more confusing and painful "stings" so that the two agents could attack around the abdomen. All this brought the result and the explosions happened. And the creature fell to its side, its guts spilling onto the floor and possibly onto the agents. Disgusting! But the life signal disappeared from the sensors. The other creatures started to flee from here. I wasn't surprised, after the biggest and ugliest creature was destroyed, I would have run too in their place.

However, I activated the flamethrower on the creatures that were still in the corridor. Roughly half a dozen creatures got in the way of the flames and became victims of the fire, and the corridor was empty from then on, and we could continue if the agents climbed over the corpse of the five-headed creature and arrived at the part where I was.

<< Nice job, impressive. I think the animals will run away from us after this. If we're lucky, they won't stop us until we reach our destination. Let's go! >> I told them.

With that, I waited for them, and then I moved on, so that we could reach the top of the mountain as soon as possible. We still had a nice long walk through the cave and corridors.

Myri smirked as she continued to fire away at the exposed underbelly of the beast. She wasn't sure how effective the tactic was, but she did have some blood from her initial vibroblade attack on her hand and forearm so she knew her blaster was doing much more than it had against the upper scales.

Myri heard the other two firing away and it seemed like things were leaning in their favor now that they were attacking from three completely different angles. Myri was happy that she had come across two allies that were a bit more prepared for a beast like this. She would have to remind herself to have some sort of heavy ordinance for all future missions.

Myri wasn't sure what caused the roar but she was getting ready to move when she heard Nyrasa yell something about explosives, and mopping up afterwards. Myri hoped that it was faith and not disregard that the senior agent was showing her in such an aggressive attack. Myri was ready and rolled to the side as soon as she heard the next shot. She huddled in the corner she had picked out for cover and waited for the explosion.

The creature fell the opposite way that Myri rolled, which was good for extraction. If it had fallen the same way as her it would have probably trapped her, but not crushed her. Myri rolled out just in time to flinch as Silhana activated her flamethrower and smaller creatures screeched out their deaths. "I am going to need an hour in the 'fresher to get this smell out after the mission is done," Myri spoke out to no one in particular.

She looked over the Nysara and gave a nod before continuing towards the Twi'lek. "Let's hope there aren't many more of those in our way." With a sigh she moved to Silhana's side and smiled as her HUD showed no signs of more creatures in their immediate path. "So I am guessing we just keep on going. That thing probably had someone guiding it towards us. Let's take out the brains."

Nyrasa slid past the monstrous beast as she relayed orders to her science crawler to take the corpse for examination. Who knew what they may get out of it, so much potential on the planet. It was amazing how small her attention span could be when so close to scientific discovery. She glanced at the burning creatures which filled the hallway ahead, fire was certainly a way to deal with them.

"Trust me, the stench is the least of your problems." She hastily hit a switch on her weapon as it went back into safety, and holstered the weapon. Kicking the dead beast once more to ensure it was dead, she walked through the doorway into the yet to be explored section of the hallway.

The senior agent marched past her companions as she made her way closer and closer to the source of all their problems. "Well, shall we?" As she marched down, spirit ichor slowly came to her finger tips, as she was now accustomed to when walking into danger. For she knew she'd have use of her magic soon enough.

Who she'd have to use it on, though, she had yet to discover. Either way, she would complete her objective. at any cost.

When Agent Dara mentioned the brain, we didn't even know how right she was. To be honest, I didn't want it to ever figure out. Blissful ignorance was better. But I'm trying not to rush too far into the story. I nodded at the words for the time being, and I answered for Agent Dara because I was of the same opinion as she and the others. After all, that's what we were here for, nothing else.

<< I agree, it's time to end this invasion! >> I agreed.

As for the smells, I just grinned under my helmet. That's partly why I was glad when I started wearing armour that had filters and was able to seal the helmet airtight. I couldn't smell anything. After that, I usually only took it off after disinfection. No one could pay so much money that after a fight... whatever. Back to the current fight, it was far from over.

After the ladies also agreed to go on, I did so. Apparently, I had the best equipped armour and I was the best protected, therefore I went ahead. Not because I wanted to steal the glory from them, but rather because I wanted to protect them. I think the Mandalorian mentality is starting to define me more and more. It's not that I didn't underestimate them because they're not bad; so far I have only worked with excellent soldiers and agents in the Eternal Empire, but they are not Mandalorians and therefore I have to watch out for them.

Going up, more creatures were waiting for us and blocking our way, there were places with more people, there were places with less. However, none of them were as huge and five-headed as the one we met below and together we easily killed them or forced them to flee. Finally, after a long, tiring route full of long battles, we reached the top floor.

There were no more doors here, nothing closed this part. After a short and narrow section of corridor, the whole place widened and a very tall and wide hall awaited us. A few moments later, I saw what was waiting for us here, I understood why the large space was necessary. A nearly ten metre tall, floating, tentacled huge brain. Disgusting!

<< What the kark?! >> I asked. << Overseer, I will send you a picture. Do you know what this is?! >>

And with that, I also sent the picture to the Overseer. I was hoping the Overseer or agents had seen this before and knew what it could do. I would have been reluctant to attack this thing without any background information.

The Overseer had little to do other than manage the data coming in and ensure it was directed to the correct people on the ground so when the communication from Silhana Cadera Silhana Cadera came through she was on the bridge in front of the main viewer. The large and strangely formed creature made her take a step back and even the crew of seasoned scientifically professionals went silent as they observed it.

"What in the stars? MEIPOC, bring up any information you have on creatures matching this. Cross reference it with the religions of the Tal'dorei." In her anthropological studies she was vaguely aware of a force weilding culture that worshipped brain like gods, eventually sacrificing themselves to become part of the greater beast, but as far as she was aware they were a myth.

MEIPOC came back with very little, fragments of lore and hearsay based on sightings of similar creatures around the galaxy, they were extremely rare, and dangerous. By cross referencing it with the legends on records she was able to get a better idea of its supposed capabilities.

<<Alor'ad, please use extreme caution. This thing is barely more than a myth but it is very intelligent and very dangerous.

It is an amalgam consciousness of numerous force users. It is itself very powerful in the force, you cant hide from it, and you would be hard pushed to outsmart it. Watch out for mind control attempts and other methods of manipulating you through the force including a power called force sever. It can use telekinesis and can protect itself using the force, but according to the lore there are limits.>>
she paused for a moment knowing she was about to ask something near impossible.

<<If by any way you can capture this thing alive, the department of xenobiology would be deeply grateful, but this is secondary to the mission and you have full discretion to use whatever force necessary.>> It pained her to say that. The scientist in her hated the idea of a near unique biological specimen dying, but if it was the cause for the destruction on the world it needed to be dealt with and asking a team unprepared to capture such a dangerous creature to do so would not be appropriate. She sent a data packet to Silhana and the other warriors on the ground so they would be as well informed as they possibly could be. But their fate was down to their skills in battle and the will of the force.

Myri heard Nyrasa giving instructions behind them before she caught up and made a comment about the smell that was still assaulting Myri’s senses. The senior agent was probably right that the smell was not something Myri should be worried about at the moment. But she just couldn’t help it. As much as Myri liked to have a reputation of being tough and such, she also enjoyed her girlie clothes and smell. She wasn’t quite sure what the need to be cute and good smelling was, especially on a mission, but Myri was always aware of it.

Myri could swear that she heard a laugh come from the Mandalorian when it came to the smell. The helmet the Twi’lek wore must have sheltered her nose from the assault. It was one of the few times Myri wished she had a helmet on. Together the three moved on down the corridor. There were more creatures, but the agents and Mandalorian made quick work of these lesser monsters after the struggle with the initial five headed beast.

All the way Silhana had taken the lead. Myri was comfortable following orders and taking separate paths, but being the follower in a straight line insurgence was unfamiliar and a little disturbing. The tactic had its merits however as Silhana was easily the best defended of the group and if she could handle an initial attack the agents could quickly position themselves to move in and turn the tide quickly in their favor. As it turned out there wasn’t another big fight between the trio and the end of their trek. The endpoint was a large hallway with a new enemy of unknown origin. It looked like a giant brain.

The quick thinking Twi’lek sent Overseer Harris a holo of the…thing. And asked for identification. Both of Myri’s hands hovered over the handles of her blasters at the ready to start shooting as they waited for an informed classification of the brain. After the recommendation of caution and a vague explanation of Forcy stuff that went right over Myri’s head she looked to the other two investigators with a look of disbelief.

“Force only affects the weak willed right?” Myri asked. That was what she heard over the years. And she was very confident in her willpower. But most Force-users were not flowing brain amalgams. “Wait…I know she didn’t just ask us to capture this thing did she?” Myri shook her head and looked around. “I was going to vote for caving in the ceiling on that thing. Any suggestions on how we might go about capturing this thing? I’m not versed in fighting against the Force and unless it’s going to lash out with those tentacles I’m guessing that’s all this thing has got.”

As Silhana took the lead, Nyrasa was a little annoyed. There were many positives to being in the lead, one of which meant being able to analyse situations the quickest, and being able to react before anyone else. The factor of protection was irrelevant, she was more than capable of surviving anything thrown at her. If they did come across this beast which sat at the center of it all, she wanted to be the first to act.

The trio moved down the hallway at an annoyingly slow pace, but as they neared the unknown threat lurking in the cavern ahead, she paused. She had felt something, not something physical, but something through the force, but yet still something different. What could have caused it, she didn't know, but she felt as if something was watching her, some other force. Then she saw it, the brain, the mysterious beast, the source of all their problems, and strong with the force.

She had never heard of such a being, but it all made sense when the Overseer's report came in. What better beast to control the lot of them than a brain, using the force to control said beings. If that's how it worked, that is. It truly was a marvellous being, and there was not one chance in hell she was letting someone kill it.

"I for one, am with the Overseer on this one. Capturing this beast would greatly benefit the scientific world, and frankly, could provide insight on the planet itself." The agents mind was set, she would capture this beast. Maybe even try to connect with it, before the scientists and the Overseer locked it up for experimentation.

"Not to mention this whole cavern is a bit sketchy, who knows what'll happen to use if you cave in the ceiling. If this 'thing' is powerful enough to control beings and use force severe, then this is going to be a lot more difficult than anticipated." She thought about it a bit, as the tentacles swayed side to side, inching ever so closely to the trio. Without a sound it suddenly swung at Nyrasa, and her hand inched for the lightsaber concealed, but she couldn't use it.

She blasted a quick stream of green force lightning from her fingertips, scorching the tentacle which veered away.
"Well now we know the tentacles work. The only way I can think of to beat this 'thing' is by trying to severe its own connection to the force. Considering thats the maintain source of its power. Any better ideas?" She hoped one would come quickly, because she doubted all 3 of them could hold out for long.

<< Alive? Wouldn't you, Overseer, want to come over here to us and maybe pet this thing? It's not a Loong cat:tm: or some puppy that can be caught alive... All right, I can try. >> I replied to her.

I have to say it was comforting to know that Agent Dara had at least the same reaction to capture that brain alive as I did. I believe Harris is the scientific Overseer, but there was a limit to everything. Especially with a creature we don't even know what it is. I let out a loud sigh when even Agent Emrick finally said she agreed with the Overseer. Okay, but does anyone have any ideas on how we can capture it? I just shrugged off the Force thing. I don't know, I didn't understand it and I didn't like Force Users, it was a space magic for me. It was an unpleasant feeling to be around them.

The moment I thought that, Agent Emrick conjured something from her fingers. So Force users, great! Since the creature was now attacking, it was necessary to dodge. In addition to the tentacles, I also suddenly felt a strong headache, it was like a migraine. It was as if they were trying to squeeze my brain from every direction. It's a very unpleasant feeling, I groaned from the pain and even fell to one knee. This is exactly why I hated Force users or telepaths. I can't defend against them.

I squeezed my teeth, but then this brain even started to scream. I reached for the sides of my helmet with both hands to try to dull the pain, but understandably I couldn't reach my head. I tried to get up or do anything, but I couldn't because of the pain.

<< I have a carbon freeze function in my vambrace. If you guys can get this thing to stop screaming in my head to be able to move, then maybe I can freeze it. >> I told them.

But now the pain was so strong that I screamed and felt under my helmet that my nose started to bleed. I also hate telepathic races and the Force…

Silhana had the same initial reaction as Myri to the idea of capture, which was a relief to the young agent. Then she agreed to try her best to make it happen. Myri wasn’t sure what the best was, but Agent Emerick seemed very much on the Overseer’s side of that discussion. Guess that meant they were going to try to capture this thing. Myri tensed ready to spring into action even though she had no idea what action would be required.

The senior agent pointed out the issue with Myri’s plan to bring down the ceiling. It was just a suggestion, and one that Myri still thought was better than trying to get the brain in some sort of vessel for transport. But the point about the thing being able to use the Force to protect itself from the falling debris and the idea that they might not be as lucky did have merit. As Myri was about to give in on not destroying any structure around them, a spark of some sort jumped out of Nyrasa’s finger towards the brain’s tentacles. Myri didn’t know the agent was a Force-user, but other than the fact that Myri herself couldn’t use it and didn’t understand it, she didn’t have any ill-feelings towards those who could. In fact in this case she assumed the skill would be quite valuable.

Almost immediately after the seemingly small attack on the brain Myri felt like there was something slithering around in her head. “Um. Guys. What exactly does it feel like when someone is trying to control your actions with the Force?” She had very limited training against Force-users. Never had been truly attacked, but always thought that she would be able to withstand it. Always taught that only weak-minded people were pushed around by the Force. And she never had any doubts about her willpower.

Silhana had a plan, but it seemed like the brain was doing something to affect her as well. She said something about freezing it with a tool she was carrying, but the brain's effects were blurring out the plan before it reached Myri’s ears. If blurring was even the right word for sounds. “Love to help,” Myri blurted out nervously. “But appears that my legs and arms are not listening to me at the moment.” She closed her eyes tight and shook her head hoping to get rid of the brain’s presence. “Is there some way to break this spell? If not I’m not going to be any use.”

As Nyrasa began to further examine the brain, now more on edge than ever, she began to notice the odd behaviours of her companions. First came Silhana, who was now on one knee, and she realised what was happening. She was so focused on how to capture the brain, she had forgotten the threat it posed through the force. It must've been attempting to control her, and that was confirmed when the same happened to Agent Dora.

Naturally, being trained in the force helped her resist it, and the abilities taught through the Sith certainly helped, but she didn't know how long she could hold out. Maybe there was a way she could briefly severe the beasts connection to the force, and allow either one of her companions to do what they wished and clear their head. She herself doubted she could do it, for she had never performed such an ability, but she'd have to see.

She reached out her hand as her face began to sweat, a few more minutes and the brain's affects would start taking hold on her, it was far more powerful than anticipated. She imagined the force as an arm, and using the force, she attempted to severe said arm. In theory, it was simple enough, but she had no idea how to do it properly.

As she made her attempt, a tentacle flew towards her. Breaking her concentration, she took out her pistol and fired. The tentacle veered off as it had before. At that point, Nyrasa was fed up. Her love for creatures was about to be overshadowed by a whole lot of frustration. She fired another stream of lightning at the brain, too fast to be blocked by a tentacle. The lightning hit its mark, though with little to no effect. The brain suddenly screamed in her ear as she went down on her legs, kneeling. She recovered, glancing to her companions if the brief break in the brains concentration helped them.

Trinity let out a genuine laugh at the humorously worded tactical assessment by Silhana Cadera Silhana Cadera , she was right, she didnt much fancy petting this creature. <<Good point well made Alor'ad. As I said, the discretion is yours, I know how mandalorians like a challenge after all.>>

She listened in on the comms and quickly brought up the telemetry of the cave area. She spoke to Myri Dara Myri Dara on the open channel <<Agent Dara, your plan to collapse the roof is geologically sound, the rock above your heads appears to be under strain. The creature does not seem to have any innate resistances to that kind of attack beyond protecting itself with the force. There is a possibility though that the collapse may trigger a chain reaction in the surrounding chambers that could trap you.>>

She was glad she wasn't on the ground for this one, she had no problem with exploring caves, but a battle within one brought up so many risks and challenges that she would not enjoy, and that was beyond her own very limited real combat experience.

ENS Mihaly made one final pass over the cave complex to get as much data as possible before slowing into a holding postion once MEIPOC suggested that its maps were as accurate as possible. She contacted ENS Ingenuity <<Any news yet on the Princess?>>

The captain had very little information yet on the status of Felmorante L'lerim Felmorante L'lerim but they knew she was alive and mobile from the fact she appeared to be evading discovery, moving on before they could catch up to her. This raised an eyebrow from the Overseer, it was not her place to question the goals of members of the royal family, but years of field work and a smaller number of military years told her you find yourself in a difficult situation and need rescuing. She would quite like to meet this young woman some time, to get a better idea of who she was.

The ultranuaght squad searching for the VIP in the mining vents was forwarding their information to Vasha and her father. It seemed the person was actively evading the retrieval team now. That was a bit concerning to Vasha. Maybe the person lost comms and didn’t know who was coming after them. Maybe they knocked their head and were suffering from delusions or other mental deficiencies. If the latter was the case whoever was in there would need help sooner than later. And someone who had medical knowledge for sure.

“Dad,” Vasha started flatly. “I think I need to break off and find whoever is in the walls. Why don’t you keep moving forward with the rest of the squad and the engineers.” She nodded to her father. “Oyo,” she called out to one of the engineers. “We’re verging off from the rest of the group. I need you to figure out how we’re getting into these walls and finding the…”

As she was finishing her orders she heard the request for an update from Overseer Harris. <<”I’m sorry Overseer did you say Princess?”>>

She didn’t wait for a response. If there was royalty in these walls roaming around injured and Vasha hesitated she would regret it for some time to come. “Oyo. Get me in the walls now!” The engineer nodded his head and went over his instruments trying to find a viable way inside the walls and also searching for signs of the person within them.

I didn't really see what was going on with the others because I was busy with my own pain. That's why I didn't even hear what the Overseer said. I mean, I heard her speak, but I didn't really understand. Even the light was stronger and painful because of the migraine, even though the visor on my helmet filtered it out for the most part, but there were flashes of data and the like that didn't make the whole thing pleasant. Just as the sounds were unpleasant. However, after a while I could only sense that the screams had subsided somewhat.

True, only for a second or two, after which you could hear them again. However, this time the voice had already changed and now it was not one that was meant to cause pain and suffering to me or the others. No, that sound was painful. Now the creature screamed. When my vision cleared, I finally saw that one of the agents had managed to injure the creature. I wasn't sure which one it was, so I hadn't seen it clearly yet, only shapes. Although only one of the three of us could use the Force, so there was a good chance it was her.

However, I didn't want to wait for their pain to pass and for them to attack us again...

<< I don't know how long they'll be in pain, but I can't wait for them to scream in my head again! >> I told them.

<< I'm sorry Overseer! >> I sent the message to Trinity Harris Trinity Harris .

I tried to stand up, which was very difficult, and then luckily thanks to my biochip, the attack on the creature was easy. All you had to do was think about MANIAC activating the whistling birds.

The twelve projectiles began to race towards the creature, and I dropped to my knees again…

As Myri stood motionless and Silhana was bending over in pain, Agent Emrick seemed to be the sole member of the group able to act. Or at least that was Myri’s assumption. But Nyrasa was standing rather still and through Myri’s HUD with keen eyes she thought she saw sweat beading up on the senior agent’s brow. Was the brain getting to her too? Or was she trying some unseen Force trick? The brain lashed out a tentacle and Nyrasa reacted. Guess it was the latter.

With the brain’s focus now on Nyrasa, Myri felt the pressure on her brain lessen and her appendages seemed to listen to her once more. She wasn’t sure what the next step was, but she was able to make sense of the tail end of the Overseer’s message. Cave-in might disable the enemy, but might trap them as well. Being trapped under tons of rubble with a huge floating brain didn’t sound like a good plan, so Myri thought maybe she could attack it directly.

Both pistols were out of their holsters as quickly as Myri could act, which was pretty quick. Her thumbs flipped the blasters to stun, hoping that would be enough to allow the others to figure out how to capture the creature, based on the Overseer’s request. She fired twice before she heard Silhana’s apology.

Myri looked over to the Twi’lek and saw the projectiles rush out towards the brain. Myri smiled guessing those were not something that was intending to knock the brain out. They were sent to destroy. The young agent smiled, switched her blasters back to full power and started taking more carefully aimed shots. If the brain was able to dodge so be it, maybe her attacks would keep it distracted for the others to strike home.
